I walked in to get my brakes looked at. They were nice and got my car back within the hour with no appointment. Mike called me a few minutes after I got home and told me they could not find my tire lock. (The last mechanic I took it to assured me it was with the spare because I use to keep it in the glove box with my other tools for the car) So about 30 minutes later Mike called me back again and said they could not find it. Then he told me Now YOU get to come down here and look for it YOURSELF Im sorry, but all he had to say was can you come look for it. Dont be rude. I know they have other things to do, I would have hopped to it and life would have gone on if he had not been so rude to me. He also would not have lost the business of our two cars. We just moved here, right down the street. We bought our forever home and were hoping to have them as our forever mechanic since they are so close. Oh, and, by the way.... I found the key lock in under 2 minutes!! They didnt look too hard.
The work I have done at Mikes is always fair and reasonable and the quality is great too.
I knew I needed an oil change and possibly a few other things, (possibly). My dealership is booked out a month, and I live close to Mikes Fairwood Auto so I decided to go with them.I let them know about the oil change and possible others. They did the oil change and check out everything! I only needed an oil change and not the other possibles. Im grateful Mikes Fairwood Auto is honestly and didnt tack on things that I didnt need!!I will be taking my vehicle back when needed! If youre looking for honest good quality professional work choose Mikes Fairwood Auto, you wont regret it!!
Fair prices and great staff.
Excellent work and they are honest.
The only place I take my vehicle
I just love the people and the service❤..
Excellent auto repair and reasonable with ASAE certified mechanics. Recommended.
They had great customer service and they also did great job/ got things done in a timely manner! I highly recommend them
Absolutely awesome shop. I’ve been in a number of times. Brought my sons car in a couple of times. Just got my truck back from them. Maybe not the cheapest shop but they are honest and get it done. They don’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need. I’ll be a lifetime customer as will be both of my boys!!! Thank you
Friendly & fast service
Mikes shop is amazing! They are understanding and do great work for reasonable prices. Thankful for their honesty regarding whats important to fix now, later, and what is going good with my car. They have taken great care of every car Ive owned. I trust them and would highly recommend going to them!
Mikes Auto Fairwood was a place that I will never return too. The person up front was rude and very confrontational.I have not come across someone that bad in awhile I feel sorry for all who work there if he acts that way to them. On the service aspects it took us a phone call after 30 hours to get an answer on what was wrong with the vehicles engine. We were charged 75.00 for them to start the engine and know the Engine was shot 30 seconds? The person up front then said if you dont get the vehicle out by tomorrow he will have it towed. What a A_H.
Have had two great experiences working with Ben & Mike on my high mileage Honda Pilot. Handles like a new vehicle! Corrected multiple drive train concerns. Professional, thorough & communicates the details of the job. Great technicians and fair prices compared to area dealers. They have all my business going forward. Thanks! Mark
Mike and his staff are great guys. They are honest and will tell you exactly how it is. These guys here will treat you properly. They know their stuff!! I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here rather than a big-name place. It costs the same as a big-name, mainstream auto repair shop, but they are worth it. They are not cheap but their service is extraordinary and if they can save you money, they will! Besides... why would you want CHEAP work done to your car? Do you want it done right? Cheap = low quality.A true all-American shop and staff!
Got me in and out quick!! Which is because my AC wasnt working and its hot out out!! Thanks guys!!
Went to Les Schwann to have my brakes replaced but they were booked for several days, then I thought of Mikes fairwood auto, gave him a call which was late in the afternoon to see if I could make an appointment for the next day. He took my info and said if I could be there by 2pm he’d order the parts and try to get it done today, which he was actually able to do. This was my first ever visit there and I thought they were great, very likable people. I read some of the negative reviews and being in retail myself I can only laugh at what some people would expect of a business. As far as being blunt, I’m the same way, ha ha ha could it be why I thought he was a great guy?
I had to take my truck in for some expensive axle repairs. Im mostly a DIY kind of guy but I didnt have any of my tools with me. I know a shady mechanic from an honest one and I gotta say, these guys didnt try to pull anything with me. They were very honest and did a fantastic job. Theyre good at what they do. Id recommend this shop to everyone in the area that needs anything from an oil change to an engine rebuild. They arent going to try and rip you off. My only complaint is that auto repairs are way too expensive.
So far so good! Ben was very helpful and courteous, Hes been working with both my father and i and has been very patient with me. He told me straight up what needs to be done and gave me a solid price! would definitely recommend Mikes Fairwood Auto!!
My distributor bolt managed to back itself all the way out. The distributor came out and the timing got all jacked up... These guys got my truck running better than it has ever ran for me. MONEY WELL SPENT.
I havent actually had any work done here (yet), but I did stop by, and I talked to someone (I think it was Mike but I didnt catch his name) about my car needs and he was very pleasant and honest, telling me for this particular service it would be best to go to the dealer. Plus, they are somewhat undermanned and busy on Saturdays, which I totally understand, so make sure to make an appointment if you need service on a Saturday. I will definitely try this place again for other auto needs and update my review.
Good tire prices, acoworker recommended them. These guys are upfront about what work is neccissary vs a nice to have, theyll also be blunt about what can be done yourself at home vs what you really should bring the car in for.
My favorite shop and so fair and reasonable. Thank you all!
Highly recommend! Guys are really professional.
This place performed repairs without checking with me first, which is illegal. They did not fix the problem that I asked them for. They told me over the phone that they would inspect my car free of charge then told me they would charge 2 hours at $105 an hour to inspect it once it was already at the shop. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. I didnt want to believe the other negative reviews on here, but they are all correct. You hear about auto shops ripping you off, and I have never had it happen to me. Dont get ripped off like me, go to another shop and save yourself the hassle.
Great shop
Ive come to these guys for various work on my Jetta, and theyve always done exactly what I asked on a timely schedule. Pretty good prices, and a nice bunch of guys to boot.
Weve been doing business with Mike and his son Ben for years. They are always courteous, honest and do great work.
My husband has taken his work truck multiple times to mikes fairwood auto, and every time he says they fix his truck perfectly . he says he feels peace of mind when they work on his truck . great people great work
Mikes actually provides pretty good auto service, but you have to tolerate their constantly unpleasant manner to get serviced. Its something I heard from others and experienced myself for years. Its too bad their lack of professionalism hurts them, but Im not sure they know or care.
Great attitude and manner. Everytime i go there, I dont only get positiveness from there but also a real human sense. Wish you guys all the best and thanks for the APPLES. For those who have negative comments about this place, GOD BLESS YOU. LoL. Haters gonna hate, you just gotta shake.
Mike and his crew are a bunch of top not certified mechanics
Great guys, fantastic attitudes, honest assessment, quick work. Will return. Thanks fellas!
Ive lived in the Fairwood area for 45 years. In that period of time Ive had the unfortunate experience four different times of dealing with Mike at his shop. Each time I brought my vehicle in for service (convenience of location) I thought my experience would be different. Not because of questionable work, but because of the unbelievably rude, condescending demeanor Mike uses to communicate towards his customers. I was irritated with Mikes behavior each time. Youll notice that Mike wont reach out to a bad review to resolve an issue or a concern...that would be good business. He wont, because he has no intension of changing his bad behavior. BUYER BEWARE! CARSTAR in Kent Ive found to be a very good alternative.
I contacted Mikes to ask for a quote on a valve repair on my F250 when the person who answered the phone informs me by saying, Oh we dont do that here. Really? You dont perform cylinder head service at an automotive repair shop?! If youre going to CHERRY PICK what services you perform, you might want to come up with a response that doesnt make your business come off as incompetent.
I have been on a quest to find a shop that I can trust to service my fleet vehicles and personal cars, and I am glad to say I finally found a shop that I can trust and rely on. Ben and his crew are a pleasure to deal with and will tell you what needs fixing and what can wait. In this age of chain shops with no personal service Mikes is a breath of fresh air.
They wanted to charge me for a whole new tire when all it needed was a patch. Which i got for free at Les Schawbs! Thiefs!!!
Honest local garage. Mechanics are nice enough guys and do honest work for a reasonable price.
Excellent service
Well this is my first ever Google review, in fact I signed up just to post about my expeirence as this was certainly warranted.Just like anything involving used cars, there are slimy and shady people, ultimately you have to take a risk with car repairs. Ive had horror stories of auto shops praying on my ignorance only to come to find out later I was taken advantage.of.So I took a chance on Mikes Fairwood Auto. I knew something was incredibly wrong with my SUV but was praying it was just in need of new brakes. I was sadly mistaken. When I took it in I was hoping for the best but trying to prepare for the worst; wrong again.Ben met with me I talked about the challenges I was having and wanted them to do a full inspection of the under carraiage to see what was going on. Ben called me about 2 hours after I dropped it off and I could tell in his tone of voice that things werent good. Come to find out, the entire belly of my car was completely rusted out. It was very apparent that the had been in salt water.Ben walked through everything with me step by step and I honestly felt as if he had just found out about his own car being totatled. He was unbelievably sympathetic and legimately felt bad for me. Now the worst part of the whole situation was that not only were all the parts rusted through, someone had spray painted them black to conceal the damage at which point recognized this was fraud. Long story short Mikes Fairwood Auto went WAY out of their way to help document everything. Ben took pictures and wrote up a summary to take to the dealer.Mikes Fairwood Auto felt so bad for me they committed to helping me fight this with the dealer I purchased it from. Well it worked! Only with their help I was able to present an agrument to the dealer so strong enough they agreed to purcahse the vehicle back for the full purchase price.I can honestly say had I not taken my former SUV to Mikes Fairwood Auto I would still be owning a totaled car.You better believe I will be sending ALL of my future vehicle purchases your way! Thanks, Team!
This is the best mechanic around. ive spent years going from one shop to another always getting ripped off and lied to untill i found mikes. they tell you exactly what the problem is and how much itll cost everytime and never change once you go to pay. ive brought 3 different cars to mikes and over 8 times and everytime i got great service and resonable prices. i recommend going here before anywhere else.
Fairwood Auto Service was the former Goodyear and occupied the location currently used by Mikes Fairwood Auto which took over the location only a year ago and is not responsible for the bad reviews below. Ive been taking my cars to Mikes for service for years, since they were located in the old Shell Service Center on Petrovitsky. They not only do good work, but theyve frequently sent me away not needing to pay for anything after they checked something out for me.
Great service and they fill propane bottles.
The owner is a little grumpy but his son is a nice guy and over rides the grumpy old man
Always nice and fast. I always come here because of the workers!
Meh.... I have never had a bargain or great service.
They overcharge and do an absolute horrible job.
👎🏽
Changed the oil on the Toyota Prius all very quickly and professionally!
