I have brought my 1966 Chevelle to John for about a year now. He clearly knows these cars inside and out and i trust him implicitly. He keeps me informed as the work goes along with price estimates, timing and suggestions on what needs to be done, or what i can wait to do for another time.He recently rebuilt the top end of my 396 C.I. and i cant say enough of the suggestions he made, the combination of what parts to use and the sound i was looking for. Oh yeah... the sound!!! Exactly what I was looking for.I find his shop to be honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring about these cars and their owners. He knows more about what makes these classic cars tick than anyone i have ever met. Kudos to John and his staff. I would recommend them highly to anyone that wants honest, trustworthy and class A service!!
We have been bringing our cars to Youngbloods for years now and have never experienced better service in my life. John has saved me on so many occasions. I can call and hell have me in within a day or two and will get me fixed up pronto. I have been to a ton of mechanics in my lifetime and nobody has ever had the reasonable prices that these guys offer, which has also saved me! They are honest and have always done the job needed and nothing more. Audrey in the office is polite and no nonsense. She tells it like it is, and I find her delightful. Thank you to all of you and I look forward to many more years of business with you.
My car needed a new radiator and I needed a reliable mechanic and a fair price. I found both at Youngblood’s. John is the nicest guy and a great mechanic. He worked my car in; took all the time I needed to explain what was wrong and what was needed to fix it. He did the repair quickly and at a fair price. John also replaced my refrigerant and did not charge me. He returned my car in perfect condition. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in the work he does. If you need somebody you can trust, go to Youngblood’s.
John is the best ever at restoration. Not cheap but fair. He has done great work on my 1965 GTO and my sons 1983 Jeep CJ -7. Best mechanic ever!
I brought John my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 after years of having another shop butcher my resto-mod and leave it a wreck due to major oil leaks, unsafe installations, and how unreliable it was. With-in 2 days of having it in the shop he had a run down of all the issues and had taken pictures of everything that needed work. We sat down and he truly listened to my complaints with the car and worked with my budget. All I can say is the vehicle I got back was exactly what I had been chasing for years. John stayed in constant contact with me making decisions of fixes and sharing photos of the progress. Car ran amazing, looks neat and professionally done, drives night and day from when I brought it in. I will now never go to anyone else.
If youre looking for an incredibly dishonest company...then I would highly recommend YOUNGBLOOD PERFORMANCE in Raleigh. They will lure you in with a FREE diagnostic test and even write free diagnostic on the estimate. If you chose not to go with them as theyre incredibly expensive. Then youre screwed, they hold your car hostage until you pay $112.58 for a free diagnostic. The owner literally glanced at my car and said you need ball joints. The dishonest woman behind the counter wrote a second estimate that I had to sign saying I agree to their dishonest ways. I will post weekly....I look at it as I paid $112...to advertise what a terrible company this is. They put my car on a lift and raised it up into the air..and pulled another car behind it until I paid the money. If anyone would like to see the two estimates I have no problem showing them...if its a year from now...I still will have no problem. Shame on you. Please save yourself a lot of grief and go and find a reputable company.
I recently purchased a 1971 Chevelle SS LS5, and was looking for a shop to install vintage air and some other minor upgrades. I checked around in the Raleigh area. After talking to the guys at Youngblood’s Performance, I decided this was the place to take my car. They listened to my concerns and what I was looking to do. John and the guys keep me posted on the work along with photos. They asked me to drop in and check the work whenever I wanted to. The completed work was excellent and the attention to detail was great. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to make performance improvements to their car.
John is the only guy I trust working on my 1969 Nova. The guy has forgotten more about classic builds than most mechanics even know. Unlike most people in the business he recomends what you need not just trying to line his pockets. It is a fair trustworthy shop which is why, you walk in there any given day and see classics worth over a 100k up on his lifts. Ignore the cheap haters who have left a few negative comments. Go check out his shop and speak with him for 5 minutes and there is no doubt he is a pro.
Took my 1965 GTO to John and he did all the work I asked for. Did a great job. I will be using John for as long as I have the car and he is there.Graeat work at a reasonable price!
Ive owned this truck for 15 years and finally found a shop that did a great job. I even bought their tshirt. LOL Thanks Youngbloods Performance. Ill be back. A+++ :)
Ive always been a Ford guy, and while Im not a master mechanic, I know a thing or two about Mustangs. Ive done clutch jobs on numerous T5 transmissions, but when it came time to replace the clutch in my Cobra, I figured I would shop around before dropping that big T45 on my chest.Like most Cobra owners, I did some research and finally settled on a specific clutch for my driving style and horsepower. A great mechanic in Raleigh recommended this place, so I gave them a call. I spoke to the receptionist first, and she transferred me to the owner.I explained my situation, and asked what kind of price range I could expect if I brought in all the parts myself (clutch kit, TOB, pilot bearing, clutch fork, firewall adjuster, transmission fluid). Before I could even finish, he cut me off saying I gotta tell ya, Im not even interested. I asked why, and he says Man, Im not trying to put you down, but I gotta make a living, I got bills to pay. I asked him do you guys work on cars for money??He refused to even consider the job because I wasnt using HIS PARTS which told me right off the bat that this wasnt the place I was looking for. Wonder how much these guys mark up their parts?I needed a real performance shop so I called PCM and talked to Eric. He was happy to do the job, and quoted me a great price that was less than I expected to spend. He knows Mustangs and its obvious he works on them a lot. He was much more polite as well.
Totally dishonest. If youre looking for an honest mechanic....dont bring your vehicle to Youngbloods Performance Automotive... John is anything but honest. He will state on the phone a free diagnostic. He will even go as far as writing an estimate Free diagnostic $0. But when you say, youre too expensive Im going to go somewhere else...the attitude changes...he gets butt hurt and he charges $112.58 to look at your ball joints for all of 30 seconds. You would be better off to look for another mechanic who is honest. I was given another estimate after I said no and they force you to pay it or you cant get your car back. If anyone wants to contact me...I would love to show you the different estimates.
I have owned, collected, repaired and restored in excess of 50 cars in my 25 years as a hobbyist. I have used Youngbloods for the past 10 years for everything from oil changes, custom engine builds, fabrication, diesel repairs, electrical, troubleshooting, fleet maintenance...I have trusted them with vehicles that include Company owned diesel trucks, #1 National show winning muscle cars, Audi R8, resto-mods, race cars, custom vehicles, old trucks....In my 25+ years and 5 states of residence I have NEVER encountered a more reputable, fair, qualified service provider.I would, without hesitation, recommend this shop to anyone.
I have used ypa for the past ten years for service on four different vehicles including an engine rebuild an more for my classic 1960 Chevy Impala. I have always been impressed with his diagnostic skills and willingness to do whatever it takes to get it right. I have always been fairly treated by John and have revommended the shop to many people
Highly recommend, great mechanic and very professional. I purchased a 69 GTO at the Raleigh Classic auction and needed some work performed so I could get the car home to PA. I found Youngbloods’s online and contacted them to explain my circumstance. I was concerned because I had no experience with them or reference about them. John was very helpful and professional in addressing all my concerns. His mechanical expertise is outstanding. John provided me photos of the progress and found a way to get the repairs done in a timely, professional, and cost effective way. I have dealt with many garages and would rate Youngbloods and my experience there as one of the best I have had.
After being burned by many mechanics over the years, its been such a pleasure being able to work with John. Hes very straight forward with what needs to be done and pricing is completely on point. Will be coming here for many years to come.
I just completed a 68 Camaro total drive train rebuild and had an issue with gas backing up in my intake manifold. After many weeks of frustration, 2 different intakes, 2 carburetors, changing cam timing and a tightening up the valve seats. Im no stranger to engines and a good mechanic myself. I had enough of this problem that I could not solve.Took my Camaro to Youngbloods Performance and Owner John found a port miss match and installed the correct intake manifold and the engine is now making right at 600 HP.John is the best mechanic ever turned a wrench.THANK YOU John for fixing my Hot Rod.
Checking out various online reviews and ran across a recent post for Youngblood’s Automotive. I’m an older guy and not one for writing reviews but after reading the post from “David” I just couldn’t sit idly by.In 2004 while at a car show, John’s name was recommended to me as I needed a complete suspension rebuild on my 1967 Camaro. The work was completed to a very high standard using top quality parts and reasonably priced. He stands by his work and acts in a professional manner. Since that time, I’ve taken my daily drivers, both foreign and domestic, to John with the same results. My Camaro has gone back for work such as a complete overhaul of my convertible top sytem’s electrical and hydraulic components. I’ve had brake and steering work done. Once again, all professionally executed and priced. Ditto on all the work done on my daily drivers. The only obstacle I have encountered is that I’m not always able to immediately bring my car in. This is understandable due to limited garage and lift space. Wet weather throws a wrench in the system too as I, along with many other classic car drivers, don’t let our cars get wet. John does his best to accommodate all. His work is worth the wait.I’m 70+ years old. I don’t know that I’ve ever taken my car to a garage, had someone diagnose a problem and write an estimate, all free of charge. Clearly David is not a business man and needs a reality check. I will continue to recommend Youngblood’s knowing they will be in good hands.
John is the best
