The office staff need trauma informed care training and an understanding of patient centered care. Though the doctors may be great here, just know as a new patient you will have to get through some snippy interactions scheduling your appointment. It makes the entire experience questionable, I would look elsewhere for care.

They are wonderful and attentive and answer all your questions. It’s nice that they keep Covid protocols in place for their patients. I will be switching to them for all my dermatological needs

Dr. Roberts is top notch. She is very thorough and really cares. The past few years Ive noticed my hair thinning and getting a lot shorter. She ran some lab tests and knew just how to help me. Im so excited to get my hair back! Im on a much better path thanks to Dr. Roberts and her amazing team.

I had a pleasant microneedling experience. I cant wait to see the outcome. The only thing I would have liked was better pre-procedure education and more education about what I could do at home. Like recommended moisturizers or any other products that I could use.Also i was given a verbal quote of $135/session but then told as I was sitting in the room that it would cost $500 for one session. It was a shock but something I really wanted to do so I paid it...but I think a more professional way would be to have a written quote and abide by it.I hope this works!

My acne is gone! I was experiencing painful cystic adult acne for the first time. It wouldnt go away after trying on my own for a year. After only 1 visit at NW Derm. Insitute, my acne cleared right up with a prescription cream. SO HAPPY! I wish I made an appt sooner. Kind & professional folks.

NW Dermatology is a great office and one I would recommend to friends and family. They are friendly and have a wonderful covid protocol in place. They got me in within a couple of weeks of scheduling and answered all my questions. So glad I found them!

I went because of a spot I was concerned about and there are two areas of concern that were photographed and will be compared in the next visit. I learned some things I didn’t know and was given referrals for other concerns not related to my appointment. I didn’t go for my rosacea but a solution that I was able to buy in site was recommended and has calmed down the redness quite a bit. The office was clean, the staff was friendly and I had no wait. Very easy appointment. I’m glad I found this office and highly recommend them.

I was disappointed with my visit to NW Derm. After reading the amazing reviews I was looking forward to feeling welcome and that I had landed on a great place. As someone who has never been to a dermatologist before, I was a little nervous. I saw Eileen and she spent maybe 2 seconds looking at my skin condition, hardly asked any questions about the issue/anything about my skin, and I almost felt judged by her when I started asking if food and gut health had an affect on my dermatitis. Her demeanor felt very curt and rushed and I perceived her to be annoyed with the questions and concerns I had. Not sure if it was an off day--but everyone else I interacted with in the office was incredibly kind!

This practice was suggested to me as I was experiencing thinning hair. Their approach was serious and multi-faceted and my hair has improved significantly. They have also helped me address some other issues and I have had them do a full body scan so that I can go in annually and ensure nothing is amiss. They are timely, communicate well, and are very professional and client oriented.

Let me start off by saying that Im not a fan of doctors offices or hospitals. I never get sick, and despite having excellent health insurance, I dont even have a primary care provider. I tend to avoid medical institutions at all costs. In fact, my one and only visit in the last 15 years involved me waking up in a hospital after a car accident, so believe me when I say I reached out to NW Dermatology begrudgingly.However, when my girlfriend noticed a mole on my back that she was worried about, I wanted to put her mind at ease. As an average-height, balding guy, Im not particularly vain about my appearance, but it was definitely an anomaly, and it worried her a lot more than it did me. I was far more concerned about going to the doctor. Typical adult male, right? Nothing is a problem, until it is...haha!Fortunately, walking into NW Dermatology felt more like going into a spa or massage/beauty parlor than a doctors office: brightly lit and orderly, with several displays of various products whose purposes were as mystifying to me as anything on a shelf at Sephora (although likely much higher quality). Everything was clean, organized and most importantly, no queue of sick people coughing all around me.Feeling a little out of place, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff. The check-in process was simple and quick, and I was ushered in to see the physicians assistant, Eileen, almost immediately. I have never had a skin cancer/full body skin check before, so I had no idea what to expect. Eileen was thorough, knowledgeable and experienced, and after discussing various options, I chose to just remove the dumb thing on the spot (har har!). 5 minutes later, I was walking out of the office. The whole procedure was quick, painless and, thankfully, came back as benign from the biopsy!From start to finish, the reception staff (both on the phone and in the office itself) were courteous, helpful, professional and warm. They also made me aware of an ongoing clinical study for hair loss, and asked if I would be interested in seeing if I was qualified for the program. On my return visit, I spoke with Heather, the Research Coordinator, and ended up joining the program! So now theyre paying me to come to the office and participate in the trial! Hard to argue with that!I dont see myself needing botox or a face lift or whatever else they do here, but if I were going to have some work done, I wouldnt look anywhere else.10/10, would patronize again.

Everyone is so friendly from checking you in, during your appointment thru checking out. I see Kari Ann, she is very knowledgeable and takes her time explaining things to you. She has helped me out so very much. I am so grateful to her and highly recommend her.

First of all I want to say the front desk people are really awesome. This review isn’t a dig at them. However. I was seen by a dermatologist over facetime and they said they’d charge my insurance, then let me know how coverage went. Fast forward two months and I had a $300 bill from them with “telemedicine” fees just for a 10 minute appt where they vaguely looked at my spot of concern? Then during my full body exam the dermatologist brought in two students without anyone prior mentioning they’d do that or asking if it was okay, keep in mind full body checks you’re pretty naked so that’s uncool. Also forget being 5 minutes late, you’ll get told to reschedule. Expensive, cold, not worth your time.

During this period of the C-9 and the necessary protocols set by the NWDI group, a very well instituted precautionary measures were beyond expectations in providing safeguards for the client (me), and staff.Visited the group, had an issue with an ugly mole.Instantly the mole was removed. My life has never been the same.Went in looking very ugly, and came out just beautiful. I mean beautiful.Thanks NWDI. -Rick

Maybe its just me but I dont care for the medical assistants working with me to be around 18 years old. They lacked bedside manner and gave off the vibe that they were uncomfortable the whole time. Furthermore, I dont appreciate being nagged to leave a review for them about 10 different times. Generally I dont write reviews but for the above reasons, I chose to. These factors likely wont influence your choice to use this clinic but I wont be going back.

Dr. Desai is friendly and thorough. I get a complete body scan every 6 months for skin cancers. She has caught many and referred me for MOS surgery when appropriate.

I had a spot on my back that I feared was cancerous and called around Portland to find a doctor to do the cancer screening. I found NW Dermatology and the woman on the phone said, Yes! We take your insurance. Why would I not believe them? Well long story short they dont take my insurance and now I have a huge unexpected bill. I called to talk with them about the misguidance and they would not accept any responsibility. I have never had to double check to make sure a doctors office who claimed to take my insurance was lying to me. Ive obviously learned my lesson and will call the insurance company always instead. NW Dermatology has sent the unpaid bill to collections even after I told them that I was trying to appeal to my insurance to cover the cost of something that is so important as a cancer screening. Now my credit score is dropping because I trusted NW Dermatologys office to be honest. On top of all of this, it was the worst cancer screening Ive ever had. The doctors I have gone to in the past use magnifying glasses to make sure they can see every detail of the spots and moles. This doctor pretty much had me take a spin and called it good. I was in the exam room waiting for 20 minutes and the doctor looked at me for less then 3.

I highly recommend this dermatology clinic, especially the laser center! Its a hidden gem. Ive gotten laser hair removal on my legs and next week a micro-needle treatment on my face. Getting ready for summer! Im really impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. 5 stars all the way!

They are professional, knowledgeable, and I always feel that they have listened and have heard my concerns. I feel very confident in my treatment plan, and in the support they offer me. I strongly recommend not wasting your time and money here. They are a dermatology clinic and understand the logistics behind many insurance companies not covering their services. Instead of warning patients about that, they recommend in-house blood tests and charge $235 for a BASIC appointment. I am now hundreds of dollars out of pocket and after all their expert testing, still have no explanation for the issues I am experiencing. Stay away from this clinic unless you like paying 100% out of pocket.

The only drawback was they dont take my insurance but they were great working with my financial limitations. I have been a patient at NW Dermatology for a little over 3 years now, and this is the ONLY place Ill ever go to for anything dermatologist related.When I first started seeing Eileen I had severe eczema that affected my entire body, face, and neck! Within 2 months of seeing her, my flareups were tamed and nearly gone. Something I had been trying to control for years.Once, I woke up with an infection on my leg. After visiting multiple doctors, and even making a trip to the ER -every diagnosis was completely different and WRONG... When I mentioned it to Eileen, she demanded to take a look at it, and came back with pyoderma gangrenosum. Eileen took on a case she had never dealt with before, and ensured me that she had my best interest in mind by working with me until we found a solution!Thank you Eileen and the team for all that youve done for me!
