Ive been seen by probably 7-10 different dentists in my lifetime, and Dr. Harper is the best of the best. He is gentle, friendly, enthusiastic, honest, straightforward, kind, polite, understanding, compassionate and nonjudgmental. The dental work he does is also excellent. I cant say enough good things about him honestly. Highly, highly recommend!!

Dr. Harper gave me a wonderful experience. He was humorous and helped to settle my nerves. There was very little pain during my teeth cleaning sessions so I am very pleased with Dr. Harper and feel better about taking myself to the dentist’s office again!

Yesterday was the first day I didnt have severe anxiety walking into the dentist. I have awful teeth, and every time Ive gone Ive been scolded for them and made to feel less than because of it. Dr. Harper ALWAYS makes me feel welcome and safe to ask whatever I need to. I was still getting a bit of anxiety prior to this appointment, but upon reflection I was completely at ease going in and trusted everyone I saw. Thank you for reaffirming my faith in dentistry!

Dr Michael Harper is one of the best dentist Ive been to, he is carrying, very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He will see and correct issues other dentist failed or wouldnt even bother to see. He also exudes confidence as a dentist, which puts me at ease. Very straightforward about procedures that need to be done. Excellent work, gives me the confidence that I wont have any issues down the road. Highly recommended!

Dr. Harper is a straight up G. Im the poster child for no dental health care all my life, and Im not good at sitting in the chair. Dr. Harper is direct, reassuring, PATIENT, and the work he does just looks beautiful. I have not stopped raving about him to any and everyone. Highly recommend.

My kids were put at ease here. My daughter is normally very frightened about doctors visits. She found out that she had a cavity the first visit. On returning to get it filled she was a champ and they made her feel calm. Im so thankful to Michael Harper for taking such good care of my kids.

Dentists make me nervous. The staff did not! As always they were calm and collected and made me feel great during my procedure. Dr. Polan and his assistant are relatable, kind, and straightforward!

Just got through having a couple teeth drilled by Michael Harper. It was my back lower molars near the gum line, which I am told is fairly sensitive. I had previously met with him for an initial consultation. He is very friendly, talkative, and cracks a pretty good joke. Since I dont like needles or having my face numb for hours on end, I requested that he NOT use novacaine and he agreed. He said if I couldnt take the pain, we could stop and reassess. It turned out that it was about a 3/10 in terms of pain, was very quick, and I dont think I will ever get novacaine again for a superficial filling. A root canal would be a different story of course. Anyways, I recommend Michael Harper and will visit him in the future.

I have been a patient here for several years and without a doubt Dr. Harper is the best dentist Ive ever had. His bedside manner is wonderful and he and his staff are great at their jobs. Ive never had anything but excellent experiences here and highly recommend them.

I had an appt on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 for dental cleaning. I arrived 15 min. early knowing I had forms to fill out. When I arrived they told me my appt. had been cancelled! There was no hygienist there on Tuesday to do the cleaning.They said they tried to call me but they said my phone wouldnt take their calls. So they made a new appt. for Tuesday June 22, 2021. I got a confirmation text from them about my appt. on June 19. I called on the day of my appt. to confirm it and I had to leave a message because they were to busy to answer the phone.They didnt respond back. So I went to my appt. When I arrived 15 min. early they were out to lunch. I sat and waited for them. When they came back she came to the window and asked me if I had an appt. and I said yes and I told her my name and she said my appt. had been cancelled! I said What? This is the second time this has happened! She said they had tried to call me on my cell and home phone and couldnt get a hold of me! I asked her Why do you keep making my appts. on Tuesday when you dont have a hygienist to do dental cleanings? She didnt have an answer! I will not go back to Advantage Dental. They are unreliable. Since Advantage Dental has taken over its been one thing after another! It was much better when it was Dental Care Today. Advantage Dental doesnt care!

I will start out by saying I have NEVER liked going to the dentist. It has seemed like ever time I have had an appointment I felt like the dentist never listed to me. However, since I have I have being seen by Adam Polan my view on the dentist has changed. I feel like Adam has not only heard me, but that he has listed to some of my anxiety about coming to the dentist.Ever since I have started coming to all my appointments with Adam my levels of anxiety have drastically changed for the better. Adam and his assistant are highly recommend to take care of any of your dental needs.

I have had a very good experience with this clinic, the hygienists have been fabulous. I have learned a lot about my teeth and how to better caretake! Like wow! So great. Michael Harper, DMD is the best dentist Ive been to. Except when I was a little kid and I used to get free toys outta the treasure chest, nothin beats that. Except! Dr. Harper definitely took out two hard to reach fillings that were in between my back molars. He replaced em with new porcelain fillings. Its only been 5 days and theyre completely healed, my bite is perfectly even, I cant tell that I had any work done. And they were in there deep, he had to get in there, like in my gums. The process was quick, painless, I felt super safe in his care. He was super nice, funny, great to be around, professional. I could tell he loves his job and takes pride in his work. The overall experience was awesome. Thank you Michael Harper and the whole staff at Advantage Dental. From check in, to check out and the dental hygienist assistant lady was awesome too. I scheduled an appointment 6 months in advance, and the day before the appointment I was told it was cancelled. This is not the first time this has happened. When I called to reschedule, they didnt have available appointments for a month out. Now I have to take an afternoon off work to accommodate Advantage Dentals schedule all because they canceled my appointment last minute. Its time to look for a new dentist, and frankly, you should too.

Timely, above and beyond, all staff/dentists have friendly calming personas- of my several visits over the years. Nice professional atmosphere; clean and sanitary.

Wonderful experience here! From an Emergency extraction situation, (with no pain!!!👍) to then a regular exam and x-rays (thoroughly and efficient), a careful cleaning, and my last appointment for restorative care (also painless!!!) My Dentist and Dental Assistants are beyond knowledgeable and professional (but also friendly😊) and take the time to give you information and options while comprehensive with your insurance etc. ✅(never feels rushed or unimportant) Always going above and beyond to make sure you are safe / comfortable (from numbness to cleanliness of there office and proceedings during these dangerous times!!!!😷)🚫I avoided dental appointments due to trauma from 7 years of orthodontist that barely treated me as a person to whom the teeth they were working on..the pain, tears and cuts were rough! I now go without fear and knowing my teeth will be in the best consideration and health at this office with intelligent and delicate care!!!😁I am a female and hadnt gone in for over 5 years and I feel really lucky to have easy, clean, comprehensive, PAINLESS, scheduled appointments here!!!!

This place is GROSS, or it certainly was under its former name, Dental Care Today. Dingy lighting, dust in the corners, stained ceiling tiles, the unmistakable smell of burning teeth, no privacy for patients getting work done. Still, I would have left well enough alone and not left them this very fair review, but then they dinged my credit with an unpaid bill of $117 even though I paid in full at the time of receiving service! I would never, EVER return here and have been steering people away from them since getting my wisdom teeth pulled in 2017. Stay away!

Would not recommend this dentistry. Every appointment ive made with them has had to be scheduled a month or two out, and they still ended up getting canceled or rescheduled. this has happened 3 times. They have been so unreliable with me

After a 10’ sliding start to a 25’ fall off a second story roof, I found myself at 37, for the first time ever, needing government assistance. Advantage Dental is what the state of Oregon chose as my source for dental care. I was definitely hesitant upon my first couple visits but it’s been almost 3-1/2 years now and I won’t change locations or providers unless I’m forced to. I’ll leave out personal names in my review for their own privacy. All I can say is THANK YOU!! Thank you to everyone from the super cute and incredibly kind gal at the front desk, to Dr. Poland’s willingness to take his time to discuss options for my messed up teeth, his assistant was incredibly kind and helpful, the dental hygienist had the steadiest hands I’ve ever met. Another gal brought me tissues, without me even asking. Everyone will always have their own opinion based on their individual experience. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dive bar or a professional dentistry office. I am simply stating the facts, based off of not only their kindness and willingness to mage my own personal oral health concerns but I compared them to all the previous dentists I e seen. My 5 star rating is because I’m genetically challenged with horrible oral health and have seen at least 6 dentists and have spent thousands of dollars in the past, out of pocket and wasn’t treated anywhere near as good as I have been through Advantage Dental off Broadway on state funded insurance. I wanted to list names of those who have looked after me but protecting their personal lives is more important to me. I named Adam Poland or Dr. Poland because he’s the main man you’ll see. In addition to amazing care, I know that Advantage Dental has financially taken care of their employees during Covid shutdowns. Who does that these days?!! There’s a reason the same crew has been there as long as they have and I truly hope that management reads this review and will feel proud for not only backing up your employees but for also hiring a wonderful crew. If you haven’t been to the dentist often, count your blessings. But if you’re like me and require a lot of work. I promise you, you’ll appreciate all the staff’s hard work. Thank you to everyone that’s looked after me and for also taking the extra time to discuss options for my complicated situation. I appreciate it more than you know..

With a recent dental complication that this office had nothing to do with, Mike personally oversaw a critical referral and helped me speed up being seen somewhere else--simply because he cared about me. Great guy, great dentist, great office. Youre in good hands here.

There is no better dentist in the 60 years I have gone. From Ashley the receptionist, to Dr. Michael Harper, I actually look forward to my visits, which are frequent due to cavities. In brief: the best dental practice Ive ever been to. Highly recommend!The NE Broadway office of Advantage Dental is as close to perfect as one could expect. Clean, organized, stocked, etc. The staff are super friendly, helpful and efficient; the dental hygienists are experienced and gentle; and my dentist: Dr. Harper & his asst. Carma are well-educated, skillful & very professional. Harper is very smart & friendly, as well as always up-to-date on the latest techniques & tech. Ive been seeing him almost two years and his work is always top-notch - my teeth have never looked better.Theyre very concerned and proactive about patient comfort and pain management, and unlike most people, I dont dread going to the dentist at all.This office sets the high-bar in my opinion. If my insurance ever changes, Ill do everything I can to keep them as my provider.

Well, lets start off by saying this has been the most fun I have had at the dentist in years. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The two girls at the from desk Ashley and Melva offer the perfect attitude for AM appointments. see what I did there?:-) Aside from that the back-office staff Shakira will have you dancing to your chair feeling good about getting your exam done and Robin will clean the hell out of your teeth while giving you some great conversation. Now it all comes down to the doctors, right? Well, you will not be disappointed with the doctor Adam Polan. Lets get started. Not only was I in for a treat when he examined my teeth and gave me a stellar review.;-) But his attitude towards the visit was so welcoming thorough and to the point of getting the work done. I came back for a second visit on the same day, yes ladies and gentlemen the same day and he was still in the same mood he was in the morning. I didnt feel any pain and was very informative about the procedure and aftercare. I really appreciate the work doctor. All I have to say is that Melissa the office manager there who is a charm to chat with is running a great office and definitely recommend this location for future patients. It was my first time there today and I cant wait to go back. Who says that?:-)

Dr. Harper is truly incredible at what he does. When I started seeing him my teeth were in really bad shape (deep cavities on almost every one of my teeth and a lot of pain.) I was so self conscious about my smile. The work he did for me is nothing short of amazing, he saved my smile! I went from never wanting to show my teeth to being able to work as a server at a fine dining restaurant. Whats more, his informative and kind nature put me at ease through every step of the process. I cant recommend him highly enough!

Very helpful staff. I was only in town for a short window of time, and they were able to put me on the standby list for any available appointments. I was able to get my teeth cleaned, a full exam, and one small filling over the next 2 days.The filling is completely invisible. Excellent, professional work!

I have been to Dental Care Today 3 times now and I can honestly say Dr Harper has been the best dentist I have ever had. He causes as little discomfort as possible, makes you feel comfortable, and really gets to know his patients. You can tell he really enjoys his career and it shows in his work! Good communication during cleanings, fillings etc. Theres usually a wait time, but I personally like it when they play kid movies on the tv, and its not too loud. Quick to schedule the next appointment and will schedule you in early if a spot becomes available.

This place was an absolute nightmare, I had the worst experience ever with this dentist. I only came to this place because it was the only establishment that my insurance covered. My wife was experiencing a severe tooth ache and I felt that the dentist treated her without compassion or any kindness whatsoever. He struggled to find any issues with my wife’s tooth as she sat there in agony which made me question his competence. Long story short I basically told this dentist what to do, which wasn’t a good feeling of reassurance.When I visit a dentist I want to feel comfortable and trust the people who are working on my teeth. This place did not meet our expectations.

I was treated kindly by the staff and got a good cleaning and filling at a later visit. I was an hour late on accident to my first visit and they let me have the next visit that someone no showed for and were very kind about the misunderstanding. Dr. Harper was a funny guy, and was quick with my filling. Id recommend going to him and this dental office to anyone.

I remembered the hygienists name up until writing this review! I wanted to thank her for doing a perfect job. I had a regular teeth cleaning and it was the easiest, most thorough, and quickest cleaning Ive ever had. Some dental places are just annoying. This place is super great and friendly.

Ok, guys, its me again! Now I have visited this dentists office for the past couple of weeks and love coming back for more work. Now I am not just hyping them up like your friend Heidi hypes up her famous potato salad that isnt famous at all. We taste the secret ingredient, Heidi. 🙃 The work Dr. Adam Polan does on your mouth is work you can only dream of. I never feel pain and he is always in the best mood and ready to get the work done. Let me also add that the staff oh the staff is one of the friendliest staff anywhere in the NE area. They are all so helpful and know what they are doing. Nicole AKA Ms. Berry is one of the coolest to chat with Cynthia is another dental Assistant who is very helpful and gives it her all. All of the dental assistants are very friendly and relax you before any procedure. So with all that said I am looking forward to my next visit in a couple of weeks and look forward to seeing the same staff then. I appreciate all of you for making me feel so welcomed and special thanks to Dr. Adam Polan for making my smile bigger and brighter for my future success. Pie anyone? :-)

Had my teeth cleaned without all the unnecessary scraping and scrubbing that most hygienists put you through. Was in and out for the cleaning relatively quickly and wasnt pressured into having any work done. Great experience here!

They are amazing here. It has literally taken me my entire life to find dentists as decent and reputable as the ones here.

Not the place for pediatric dentistry. Appointment at 9am, asked to come 15 minutes before for paperwork. Arrived at 8:45 to a busy waiting room which became even more full. Filled out paperwork and waited and waited. No toys in a cramped waiting room. My 3 year old was growing more anxious. Asked at 9:15 if she would be called back soon and was told they were running a little late and she would be called in 10 minutes. Another adult also clarified that their appointment was at 9am and all adults were called back leaving the 3 year old for last. At 9:27 I asked for my paperwork back and let them know that that their treatment of a 3 year old was unacceptable. Instead of understanding, the two women at the front desk made excuses and told me I could talk with the manager. No conversation needed, actions speak louder than words. Do not take your kids here if you expect a welcoming and inclusive environment for children.

I had a terrible experience at this location today. My daughter was really anxious and refusing to get out of the car and refusing to come in and refusing to get in the chair. After though we finally talked her into seeing the dentist through the help of the very kind staff, Dr.Harper came in and yelled at her, yelled at me and was sarcastic, rude, extremely unprofessional and judgmental. After all that the staff and I had done to get a scared child into the room, his negative energy sent her right back into a corner. Do not take your child to this provider. He obviously has no idea how to talk to or interact with children, or adults for that matter as he was also extremely rude to me. The only reason we are going back to this location to see another doctor is because of how kind and understanding staff was, including the office manager who listened to me vent and apologized for his behavior.

In contrast with so many of my dental experiences (over 71 years), there is humor, empathy, and attention to my feelings/needs, promoting calm on my part. I hope to be lucky enough to stay with Dr Harper and this clinic for a very long time (or as long as I have left)!

I was scared like a lot of people, the Dentist and his assistant were the best team ever! I was in really good hands they were amazing! I give this rating 5 stars i want to give it 5-Thousand 5s!

Nice dentist. Hes too busy to help anyone with dentistry. He gave me face skin exams. I have dermatologist for that and dont like have my face mapped by a dentist. I waited 2.75 hours. Came at 2:30 seen at 5:45pm. They are too busy. Cant get you in on time. Dentist is nice guy. I dont like skin exam but dentist. Thats not his job. Also if youd like a nitrous hook up and your a girl he hooks those up. He can gas 6 people in 30 mins. But cant see one person in 3hrs. I hear hes really good hook up for opium drugs to. Tired of weird doctors.

Its a dentists office. They identified cavities, gave me fillings, and told me how to continue to take good care of my teeth. They did exactly what they were supposed to and were nice when they did it. I would recommend them to a friend.

I will not recommend this place to anybody!!!!!! I cannot wait until I’m done with all my treatment so I will never ever in life have to come back to this place!!!! Just run far far away from this place horrible and then I’m in severe pain and they think that they can be sarcastic and funny with me in a very snobby way ... no consideration no understanding they don’t care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless youre Bill Murray in Little Shop of Horrors, nobody likes the dentist. I have always hated the dentist, and I take good care of my teeth!The staff here have always been stellar. Im currently on OHP and this is the dentist I was assigned to. It is in an easy to find location with plenty of parking (and right on a bus line if thats how you commute). Yes you will have to wait to get an appointment, but thats how all of my dental experiences have been even when I pay for the coverage. I had to reschedule a few times and they never gave me any flack about it, even when I onlygav a few hours notice!!Im not sure what the doctors name is. Dr. Harper? Hes the super positive and energetic one. You can tell hes super healthy because he just radiates positive energy. I am a huge baby about dental procedures and any kind of medical appointment, really. He was super empathetic about it. Hes simply an awesome dentist, the best Ive had as an adult.Him and his assistant Karma did a filling for me today. I was in and out in less than an hour !! I know Im a difficult patient but they were so incredibly sweet, compassionate, professional, and in good spirits. I wish I could come here more than just once a year for teeth cleaning.If anyone leaves a bad review its just because they hate the dentist in general and are super grumpy about having to get care.You guys rock!!!

Came in three weeks ago. Waited for an hour and a half in the waiting room then 45 min in the chair. Then a dentist who was not the one I saw before rushes in and decides he should do extra stuff. He hammered away at my tooth for about 2hrs and I could tell he was frustrated and wanted to get it done with . While he was working, he and the staff were talking openly about what a joke the place is and how theyre understaffed. Any my tooth has been killing me so Im back in the waiting room- been here for an hour so far. Again. Wtf

These people are a joke they just want you to get a full mouth X-ray so you can get a free cleaning then you come back for second cleaning they say your insurance is expired (which I know mine is not) and dont even call to tell you they gave my app. Time to someone else. Not professional at all.

I have had alot of work done on my teeth and therefore have seen many dentists- Ive never wrote a review about anyone but had to for Dr Harper. I experience zero discomfort now that I have Dr Harper. I can think of no other way to describe it. He removed 13 teeth in 2 appts and I needed no anesthesia or pain killers afterwards. He has an attitude that completely calms me. Any anxiety that I have is quickly gone. Before now I would dread smiling, but look for any opportunity now. Ive referred 2 friends to him who are also referring people to him now. I cannot thank him enough.

Dr. Harper and the staff Rawk!!! Quick service with a smile and some laughs! What more can you ask for. Plus if they get a cancellation, they are quick to call you to try and hook you up with an earlier visit. Everyone there is hard working, polite, and fun to conversate with.... Real clean facility and professional. I like how Harper cruises a sic motorcycle as well. Great peeps! I would recommend anyone to try em out. The absolute worst dentist-he was rude, arrogant, and painful to experience. Would never go back here for dental work.

READ ALL PLEASE! This place was absolutely incompetent. They wasted over three months that I could have been getting my teeth fixed somewhere that could actually help. They sent me to four different consultations at four different locations just to finally tell me they were referring me to OHSU. I just wasted another four hours on the bus and another day of work. The staff is also being dismissive with me and acting like they dont even care. They wont even let me know when I am supposed to go to OHSU so I can finally get this much needed dental work done after 3 months of run around. Dont go to this place if you seriously need dental work done within a 6 month time frame. No stars and trust me this place sucks. Ok so its been 3 days since I posted this. They called and told me they didnt have any openings until June 8th and want to set me ANOTHER appointment 6 MORE weeks away! That little message the owner/robot sent me was bull. Its been four appointments....no work done at all...and they want me to come again...NO WAY. If this place cared at all they would make an opening IMMEDIATELY! Ive never in my life dealt with a worse company! Oh and corporate office wont even take my calls!

Receptionist was extremely unprofessional, gave unsolicited medical advice and spent 10 minutes arguing over severity of dental issue while refusing to schedule an appointment.

I waited for an hour and a half before actually seeing a dentist. My appoint was at 11:30, didn’t get called back till 12:10 and then didn’t see the dentist until 1:12. Very irritating and quite a waste of time.
