I had an emergent issue on a Sunday. I called Sunday morning and left a message hoping I could get in Monday morning for, well, anything. I walked in Monday morning knowing I may not even be able to be seen with their other appointments already scheduled. Well, I rang the bell and Megan came out to greet me. She had gotten my message. She had looked in my chart and reviewed my history. She knew I needed to be seen. She got my in! Her team member got my x-rays stat. She reviewed my probable diagnosis with me. She was 100% correct, it was really bad. She referred me to Malmquist Oral Surgery one floor below and due to Megans good reputation and strong relationship with them, Malquist got me right in as well.Granted I had only seen Megan one time. I was hardly an established and known patient. She really took care of me. I will continue to see her.

It was very clean and safe regarding COVID protocols. The staff was very kind, professional and easy to talk to. They checked my insurance and explained things clearly. They were very careful when taking x-rays, it was least painful/uncomfortable x-ray Ive ever had! Dr. McInnis was also friendly, thoughtful and easy to talk to, she did the cleaning herself and it wasnt painful either! I highly recommend!

Like a lot of people, I dont like going to the dentist. I put off some dental work and was really dreading the experience of going back for multiple appointments. I got an appointment with Dr. McInnis as a new patient and I am SO glad that I did. Dr. McInnis and her team were extremely thorough and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable despite coming in with a lot of anxieties. The procedures were painless because of their careful attention to detail, and Dr. McInnis talked me through all of them. I am so grateful to have found such an exceptional dentist!

We were so pleasantly surprised to find this jewel of a dental office. I was fortunate enough to get a next day appointment. Right away I was pleased that they have free parking. The office is clean, bright, and welcoming. Patient comfort, attention to detail, stellar staff, and Dr Blocks passion for helping people have confident smiles, are just a few reasons why we give this office a 5 star rating. I actually love going to the dentist now! Dr. McInnis is down to earth, funny, and is overall a great dentist! The rest of the staff is also very personable and welcoming. Theyve created a very professional and efficient environment without sacrificing a sense of ease and comfort. I especially love how theyll give you a hot towel at the end of the visit with lavender in it and a sugar free lollipop. Its the little things like that which make the whole experience feel positive. Looking forward to going back in six months!

My experience with Dr. Block was amazing. From her clean beautiful office to her friendly staff, I felt like I was in good hands as soon as I walked in. I was greeted by Debbie who was very welcoming and sweet. Later Dr. Blocks assistant explained what was going to happen and made sure I was comfortable before getting started. Dr. Block did a great job with my teeth; she was thorough, professional, and gentle with my teeth and gums. She also took the time to explain everything that was going on and what needed to be done. For someone who dreads going to the dentist Ill definitely be going back to Dr. Block and recommend her to my friends and family.

Very friendly! My first visit was nothing short of enjoyable, which for a dentist visit, is a huge compliment! Everyone on the staff made me feel welcome. The appointment was smooth and painless. During the x-rays and cleaning, they walked me through what was happening so I knew why they were doing certain things, which in my 27 years of life has never once happened. I really appreciated that, as often times youre sitting there, mouth wide open, having no clue what is going on, how long something is going to take, etc. All in all, I am very happy I found this office and will be going back!

The staff and Dr. McInnis made me feel right at home. From the front desk to the back office, everyone was friendly and professional, and my teeth have never looked this good. The free parking made the visit super easy. I highly recommend RiverPlace Dental!

I moved to Portland a few months ago and was looking for a dentist in the downtown area. I got a postcard about Dr. Blocks dental practice in the mail and decided to schedule an appointment after seeing other positive reviews online.When I called to schedule the appointment, I spoke with Debbie on the phone. She was so kind and patient in helping me find a time to come in that worked with my schedule as well as helping me navigate through the benefits of my new dental insurance (including what would be covered and what I would expect to pay out of pocket).When I arrived for my appointment, I checked in with Debbie at the front desk and she helped me get started with the new patient forms. As I was filling them out, Debbie offered me coffee or the various flavors of La Croix they have available in the lobby. This definitely left a positive impression and I was appreciative of the great hospitality.Ashley, Dr. Blocks Assistant, gave me a warm greeting and then led me to an open examination room towards the back. I usually find the dental x-ray to be extremely painful for my gums, but Ashley was very gentle and made sure to ask if I was comfortable as we took multiple x-rays of different sections of my teeth. Afterwards, Dr. Block came in and examined my teeth, and then cleaned/polished them as well. From past dental visits, Im used to seeing a hygienist or a dental student perform the teeth cleaning, so it was quite refreshing to see Dr. Block pay such close attention to the care and condition of my teeth.Dr. Block found two cavities, which I was initially skeptical of due to not having cavities since I was in high school, but she showed where they were on the x-rays and explained that they were those old fillings that started to wear away over time. Luckily, I was able to get another appointment with Dr. Block to get them filled the following week, just in time before the winter holidays.The icing on the cake from my experience was the fact that Dr. Block asked about my current mouth guard/dental device, which was causing me a lot of pain when I wake up in the mornings. She helped me get fitted for a new (and thinner) mouth guard and even went the extra mile of providing my insurance company with documentation to see if they would cover part of the additional cost!Overall, I was very impressed with the level of care and service I received from Dr. Block, Ashley, and Debbie. Im used to having a very transactional relationship with my health care providers, so I was very appreciative of the fact that they made the effort to get to know me and build a rapport with me as well. I highly recommend RiverPlace Dental if you are looking for a new dentist in the downtown Portland area!
