The best dental practice I have ever had the pleasure of using. That’s not a typo. I was pleased to be there!Their office is superbly equipped; the staff is highly trained and skilled. It’s also comforting and friendly. Even the office decor conveys a sense of pride in what they do.

I recently relocated to Portland and was a bit nervous to find a new dentist, as I had been going to the same one for years. I picked Northwest Portland dental because it was close to my home and I was not disappointed! The office is bright and clean, the staff are welcoming, and Dr. Dietrich was so kind and friendly. Im happy to make Northwest Portland Dental my new dental provider.

The service was wonderful, the employees were very helpful and informed. They went out of there way to answer my questions and were pleasant and professional. I have been going to this office since I was in my twenties and am now 80, so that alone will tell you how I feel about Dr. Dietrich and his personnel.

Dr Richard Dietrich and his staff do exceptional dental work. I had an old filling replaced. They took care to assure the best quality of work. It was a front tooth, they matched the filling color perfectly to my teeth. Visually its not apparent a repair was even done. I would definitely recommend them.

A Dentist you can trust. Does what needs doing and does it well. I trust him. Ive been going to him for 16 years, and never worry that he is doing more than needs doing and do not have many problems with my teeth. Ive had a few fillings and caps, but over 16 years, thats not too much. Nothing has been needed for the last few years.

This was the best experience at a dentist Ive ever had as an adult! Dr. Dietrich was extremely friendly without being cheesey, informative, genuine, and confident, and Oralia, the hygienist who worked with me, was super knowledgeable and did an amazing job with my cleaning. Both took the time to explain my x-rays to me and make sure I understood what I was looking at and the logic behind their recommendations. Heather in the front office explained pricing in a transparent way that felt very geared toward information sharing rather than persuading me into buying more services. I walked away feeling like I knew more about my dental situation and quite confident that I hadnt been told I needed unnecessary dental work. Overall, I would recommend this dental office to anyone based on my first experience there!

I believe this was my third visit to this dentist. My hygienist Anna is knowledgeable, professional and personable. She makes me feel comfortable but also gets the cleaning done with minimal discomfort. While I have only seen Dr. Dietrich for exams so far, he has good chair-side manner and is very friendly. I can see why hes one of Portlands best Dentists. I would highly recommend.

I went to Dr. Dietrichs office for my first dental visit in 8 years (I know, Im so ashamed) and it could not have gone better. The front desk is extremely well organized, and they offer communication via email/text rather than phone calls which is a huge deal for me. Bonnie had my insurance information ready to go when I got there, so there were no complications or surprises about cost (which turned out to be zero out of pocket thanks to my insurance and their thoroughness with getting it sorted ahead of time). Once at the office, the atmosphere was so cozy and friendly I could hardly believe I was at the dentist. My hygienist (Dominique) was as kind and knowledgeable as can be. She answered all my questions and offered me a eucalyptus-scented warm neck wrap and blanket while she took x-rays (no extra charge!). She gave me topical anesthetic to make the cleaning more comfortable, which I had never had before, and was very considerate of my comfort level throughout. Dr. Dietrich himself has the best bedside manner Ive ever experienced from a doctor, and is clearly great at what he does. No one ever shamed me for avoiding the dentist for as long as I did or flossing poorly or whatever the complaints usually are. Of course there were a few minor concerns with my teeth, but they were very honest about the severity of each issue, which is very helpful if youre too busy/poor to prioritize them all A.S.A.P. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, more akin to the spa than the dentist. Im already on the schedule for another visit, this time for a regular six month interval, and my husband will be going next month. Cant recommend this office enough.

Not too pleased. I told them I had a couple cavities I’d like taken care of, they told me as a new patient to plan on xrays and cleaning and then the cavities, so to plan on a 3 hour appointment. Waited over a month for the appointment. They did the xrays and cleaning, finished in a hour, but told me they didn’t have time for my cavities and I’d have to make another appointment for it. Really bummed me out, because that was the entire reason I made the first appointment. Also, the quote for 2 cavity fillings was 500$, a lot more expensive than I was expecting. The girl who did my cleaning tho she was really good and gentle

When I moved to Portland about 8 months ago I was dreading the need to find a new doctor, dentist, barber, etc. Fortunately Dr. Dietrichs practice was my first attempt at finding a new dentist. I say fortunately because my experience at Dr. Dietrichs office was the best experience at a dentists office Ive ever had. The entire staff was friendly, the office was tastefully set up, and the service was beyond the norm. I was offered many extras to increase my comfort in the chair. To top it all off the cleaning and dental exam itself were very throurough and I could tell that Dr. Dietrich and his staff truly cared about me as a client. I will absolutely recommend his practice to strangers, friends and family alike.

Not sure what happened - but they originally had hundreds of 5-star reviews. Dr Dietrich has been my dentist for about 3 months, and they take extra time to take care of me. I signed up my partner, and highly recommend their care. Over the weekend just before Christmas, I broke a corner off my left lateral incisor, leaving a dark hole where that part of my tooth had been. Within hours of their Monday morning business day, Dr. Dietrich and his staff had me into the chair, my tooth beautifully repaired, and on my way with no worries about Christmastide smiles or photos!Dr. Dietrich and staff are warm, competent, caring professionals and care providers. Where to begin?! The homemade cookie at the front desk, the lavender-scented HEATED pillow in the chair, or the beautifully packaged welcome-to-the-practice goodie bag. (I wont spoil the surprise, but expect to be pleasantly surprised with far more than just the requisite toothbrush, travel-sized toothpaste, and little blue box of floss!)Jamie, Abby, and Dr. Dietrich were incredibly kind and competent, and I left with absolutely no concerns about what my insurance would/would not cover.This is as good as it gets, as far as the dentist goes.

The front desk staff ie; Heather, is professional grade and wonderful. (my reasoning for the two stars.)1- however, the doc made a crown for me which was returned with a poorly matched color. doc sent me out to the lab in beaverton for them to perform proper color matching. then when crown was returned and placed it was misformed and appeared as a fang. i needed to return for doc for him to grind it down. (which could be structurally damaging to a new crown)2- additionally, i cracked a tooth (molar) on a friday morning. i immediately called and spoke directly to docs answereing service, so they could communicate with him. i received no call back. so hours later i called ans service again. they emphasized they had given doc my message, and couldnt answer as to why he did not respond to my urgent need. so, i called my periodontist whom saw me immediately. he confirmed the tooth required immediate care or else it could crack more fully and require extraction. with still no call back from doc, i called a different family referred dentist. he saw me within two hours on saturday afternoon. he repaired the tooth w a temporary composite. i thanked him and followed up with him. further, i additionally changed to him for my future dental care. days after, i called and informed Heather re: my negative experience, and my choice to change dentists. she as always was compassionately responsive, and that she would tell doc. but still, and to date have never receiveid a response from the doctor. so much for bedside manner.doc apparently has hours only three days, on mon, tues, and wed. so, if you have urgent dental problems on his off days, you may like myself, be left in the lurch. dr. jeff

On the plane on the way to Portland for vacation - suddenly, a broken crown! Northwest Portland Dental made room in their schedule, took me on the same day. Fixed me up! Friendly, efficient, state of the art, smart staff, and Dr Dietrich seems like a warm, kind human being - in addition to being a great dentist! I felt like I was in excellent hands every step of the way.

First of all entering into the newly designed dental office is a special experience! What exquisite taste! White orchids surround you, plus a lovely new sculpture over the lovely upholstered sofa and contrasting black designer chairs..artwork abounds to fill in the total design.But then, everyone remembers your name and says hello. Then the cleaning process is a breeze with a very competant hygenisist..who is sensitive and able...it turns out to be a most pleasant experience...and your teeth and gums feel wonderful.

I have been going to Dr. Dietrich for over 20 years with every 6 month check ups. That says something right there. He is absolutely a great dentist and has and is taking great care of my teeth. Im trying to get rid of all the silver in my mouth and I have had extensive dental work done and his workmanship is top notch. If its something he feels he cant do, hes referred me to a specialist. Again, a great experience. AJ is one of his dental hygienist and she is amazing, she is meticulous and very thorough. AJ seems to always know the best new toothbrushes, paste and flosses. Love leaving with a goodie bag.Thank you team Dietrich, you know Im not the most comfortable person in the dental chair but I appreciate you making me feel less apprehensive and I know the end results are going to be perfect.

Love this place! They go above and beyond to take extra care of you, whether thats breaks from a machine noise, to numbing your gums only for comfort. Theyre more than professional - everyone just seems happy! Easy to talk to, always have free goodies like gum and candy (they randomly and possibly ironically had pastries last time I was there). Best dentist Ive ever had - only thing they need now is toys like when I was a kid!PS - They squeezed me in for an appointment the same week I asked for one. Not always possible but they emailed me and called and left a message. Above and beyond the call of duty!
