Just got my haircut here yesterday for the first time. Christine did an amazing job! My hair looks so good. First time having Christine cut my hair and would absolutely go back! Have been cutting my own hair since pandemic and after my experience yesterday, thats over. Definitely will be a regular here!

I stopped by Take Pride on a recommendation and Im really glad I did. It was my first time in so I made a reservation for the first available opening and got my cut by Alex. He did a great job, cleanly cutting my hair and getting me in and out of the chair in quickly. My cut looks good and based on the number of other folks waiting, the whole team does a great job. Im looking forward to my next visit.

Im a regular client of Shawnas and shes amazing. Not only does she do a great job on my hair and my beard, shes a really good person and I always enjoy our conversations. I cant recommend Take Pride and Shawna enough. Awesome shop filled with awesome barbers!

I can’t state enough how much I love getting my haircut here. The shop has a great vibe, the staff are very friendly, and I’ve always had amazing haircuts. Fiona has nailed every single crazy style of hair cut that I’ve asked them to do and couldn’t have done a better job on my recent hair bleaching. Fiona has also been super understanding and great about the times I’ve had to push back or move an appointment as well. Even better the one time they weren’t available, the other barber I had gave me a great cut as well. So no matter who does your hair here, you are going to look a lot better walking out than when you walked in.

After going to the same salon in Portland for the last five years, I was wanting a change. I stumbled upon this neighborhood spot and have been impressed ever since. I am a hairie (the foodie equivalent of a hair fan) and take things seriously. Shawna definitely knows what she is doing and pays good attention to detail and ensures you leave happy. It feels like a good mixture of cool spa, salon, and barbershop and a good flavor of Portland at the same time. Definitely book a week in advance because this place has a FOLLOWING.

I have been going to Faye to get my hair cut for almost a year and a half now! They are extremely professional, as is the entire shop, and talented in their skill. They are always willing to do some of my more.... adventurous... styles and every cut has turned out amazing! Highly recommend Take Pride, especially Faye. If you are looking for an excellent cut, excellent conversation, and all around excellent humans, look no further! Also, the shop is immaculately clean, and these days that is a must for me.

Great experience start to finish! Their site was easy to use and made booking the appointment a breeze. When I arrived for my appointment I noted how bright and clean the shop was. There was hand sanitizer available for customer use right inside the door. After a quick sign-in and temperature check I was able to get into the chair right away. Christine is my regular barber and has been for several years now. I am able to communicate my style ideas and I feel my vision is always well received and translated into a gorgeous cut. Thank you, Christine for being a hair wizard and once again working your magic!!

The fact of the matter is, if you’re sick of looking around town for someone who can give you a clean looking haircut, this is the place to go. I went and had my hair cut by Christine and she was amazing. Been back twice now. She’s the only person that will cut my hair in this town. Knocked it out of the park every time.

I see Fay every two weeks and have been seeing them for the last couple years off and on. They never fail to give me the haircut I want! I always look fresh after getting out their chair. And I often get compliments about my fade. They’re also very down to earth and easy to talk to, and we always share some good laughs and goofy stories.I have curly (not kinky) hair but I get it cut short enough that it just becomes waves on top and the waves look good too when I let them show.The shop itself is always clean, bright and has a great appearance. One time I found an appropriative shirt on their rack and when I messaged the owner about it, she immediately took it down and that was that.QUEER/TRANS FRIENDLY. Sometimes some of the clients who come in act weird to some things, but that’s no matter where you go. The barbers themselves are awesome and some are queer/trans themself.

Ive visited Christine L. countless times and each and every time I am left feeling better than when I walked in the door. Christine is super knowledgeable at their craft and confident in their abilities. Whenever I visit Christines chair, I can sit back, relax and rest assured that Im going to leave with a GREAT haircut and lots of laughs. Christine also, aside from being an amazing human, is an amazing advocate to LGBTQIA+ identifying folks. Christine is an asset to anyones team and will leave you booking over and over again.

The young lady was nice enough, the shop was nice cool the haircut was very good.. Great experience but believe me your going to pay for it.48 bucks for a mans haircut caught me off guard to say the least but maybe im just out of touch Ive never paid more than 20.

So this was my first time at this shop, my barber whoes cut my hair for over 4nyears flaked on me at the last minute so I went online and started looking at shops and came across this one. It had nothing but 5 star reviews like over 120+ of them.Arlene was who I spoke to on phone at 3:30pm Sunday and I asked if there was anyway she could see me that day and she squeezed me in at 5:30. FYI they close 6pm and I told her everything I needed done (Bald fade hair cut with tapper, beard trim/fade, and straight blade for neck and beard and also definition spots on haircut) point is she still got me in. She did a flawless job with literally everything. Even the straight blade she was super smooth and had a soft touch. I cant stress enough how happy I am with the service and quality and I would recommend this place to everyone!

I recently went in for my first time and will definitely be going back! Really nice space with a great atmosphere and friendly people. And Fay is the best! Ive been going to her for cuts for about two years. We change up the style every once in a while and she is currently giving me the best skin fade ever. Im always so happy with my cut. I am 6’7” and so most barbers/places have to have me slouch in order to cut my hair. This chair was deep enough where I could sit up straight and was so comfortable it felt like a throne! This is a big deal for me and I am sure you other tall peeps can relate!

Everyone who works here is extremely talented at fades and super sharp haircuts, they’re all sweet, it’s women owned, AND you can get SICK tooth gems there as well. Kenzie is a badass. Great customer service.

She also gives excellent advice on dealing with your specific hair type if you want guidance and goes above and beyond to make sure you leave happy as can be.

When I moved to Portland about 6 months ago, one of the first things I did was look for someone to take care of my hair. As the daughter of a stylist, I have always had very high standards (and limited trust) with my hair. I never had a doubt with Kenzy. She understands hair. Period.She is kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Getting a haircut from her is always a pleasant experience - and youll look fantastic! Plus her new shop is awesome.

Chris was extremely well-spoken and passionate about styling hair and I learned a lot about my own hair and what works for it just through conversation with him as an expert. Ross is the BEST!!! Years ago Ross cut my sons hair an another barber shop in SE. He moved to LA and no one was able to cut my sons hair quite the same. Ross is very chill and easy going and he is very talented and patient. I was so thrilled when I learned that Ross returned to Portland. This is a great shop with great energy. The haircuts are not super cheap but well worth it... you will be thoroughly pampered!
