Ivan has been cutting my hair since 1961, when I was 13 years old. Even though I no longer reside in Portland, I still make it a point to see Ivan and have him cut my hair (all 20 of them!) every time I return to the area. His memory is amazing, even after all of these years, and his prices are modest. His shop... old charm... it hasnt changed much since I first saw it (except that there is no longer a large ball of string in the window... ask him about the string). FYI, if you would like your knives sharpened, he is a professional with very reasonable pricing. Appointment necessary? Of course! Plan ahead... you wont be disappointed.

Ivan the Hairable is my go-to barber. He definitely knows how to cut and deal with Asian cowlicks which is what I greatly appreciate. His small talk always puts a smile on your face and he and I go into deep discussions about Carter knives :) Stay classy Ivan!

The best barbershop in Portland. Period. This guy has been cutting hair in Multnomah for most of his eighty something years. His father opened up a barber shop in Multnomah in the twenties, so its in his blood.

Ivan is a great barber and an awesome person. A second generation barber, he is obviously happy and content with what he does. You will go back again and again, just make sure to call for an appointment first!

Newish venue but with old school charm

Aroegent. Havent even stepped foot inside and I dont feel welcome. A guy wants a cut and not a dramatic old timer telling youre not welcome without an invite.
