Had what was probably my best barber experience ever here. Austin did a fantastic job. He had impeccable attention to detail and was passionate about his tools and what he was doing. Ive never in my life felt inclined to revisit a particular shop or even more, a particular barber or stylist. This visit left enough of an impression to change that.

Clean cut and bread trim extremely reasonable prices. Barber Austin will be my go-to guy from now on

Fixed my sons haircut I gave him in a hurry. Super clean, friendly and honest and buildingfeels nostalgic. Little pricey for a kids haircut in a non California location. Idk if its the area as we were driving through. $25 without a tip.

Barts has faithfully provided me excellent service for 6 years and I would recommend it to anyone looking to support a local, independent barbers. Be sure to call on the day of to book an appointment, cash is preferred. Classic cuts typically can take about 45 minutes, but the attention to detail is worth it.

A nice little hair salon in Kenton, and the owner seems to be overly zealous in making sure that he keeps things covid-19 free, to the point of making me, the son of an elderly man, wait outside while my father had his haircut. We were all wearing masks, but I guess he feels that it is still too risky to have anybody else in his Salon, other than the person hes working on. I give him an A for effort, in the fact that my elderly father is very important to me, and in one sense Im glad that he goes overboard to keep the place clean, but feel that he could be a little bit more accommodating otherwise. Setting a chair outside with the wind and the rain whipping around you, is probably not the most courteous thing to do, so I walked around and visited other local shops, while my father had his haircut, and then went back to get him when he was done. My father is in his 90s, and needs assistance getting around. Otherwise, his haircuts seem to be good, and I noticed another gentleman that the other hairdresser working for him had cut, and his hair looked very well done, as well. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the north Portland area. Cheers!

Austin does a good and consistent job trimming my beard

Okay so I called Barts and made an appointment, so when I get there I notice a sign that said cash only so I ask, you dont except debit and he said they prefer cash and it got me thinking, cash only I wonder why? Obviously hes cheating on his taxes. Dont quote me I could be wrong, I doubt it, but I could be. He told me there was a Wells Fargo bank down the street, I dont bank there so the fees I would have to pay would be anywhere between 5 to 10 dollars plus the cost of the haircut(25) and tip (5). So I left and didnt go back and neither will I ever go back!

Older gentleman from the east coast cut my hair. Youll know who Im talking about if you hear him. I was happy with the scissors-only cut he did on me.

Spectacular and consistent cuts in a warm easygoing environment. I spent years trying to find someone to cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. Josh at Barts does phenomenal every time and keeps me coming back. Also does exceptional beard trimming. Love this place!

Great place for a haircut! The father and son Duo get you in and out of a chair before you know it! The conversation is uplifting making time fly by! I really like the traditional use of the lather and the straight razor! Cuts are a little more then some places, but not as expensive as the high end men saloons, 100% worth it!

Bart is a good guy and knows how to cut hair

The gentlemen Ive had provide haircuts have all been skilled and friendly. The ambience is interesting and classic barber shop with a North East Portland attitude. Reasonable price and on par with the Hair Ms in terms of the finished product.

Bart gave me a perfect buzz and a perfect beard cut in the perfect window of time to get me to my next destination:Called with little notice.Bart scheduled me for a snug window for my schedule.I gave him little direction. He ran with it.He talked enough but not too much.

Keeping it safe with mandatory masks, sanitizer, single use capes and chair covers with barriers between barber bays. More limited services, no beard or facial hair trims but finally rid of my shaggy quarantine pseudo-mullet.

Ive gotten my haircut twice by Tony since making the switch from elsewhere. Tony is a super friendly guy and an even better barber. No nonsense or frills type of place, just a solid place to get a cut.

25 bucks plus tip for a haircut! Im sorry, but it really didnt look that good. Just because it takes them forever to get the job done doesnt make it a good cut. I dont want to spend a half hour to 45 min. listening to some guy blathering on and on about crap I dont give a crap about. Other barbers seem to be able to accomplish the very same task with similar results for a lot less than these guys are charging, and they can do it in 15 min. or less. To be honest, the experience really pissed me off.

Wonderful atmosphere and staff, a great place if your looking for something more inviting. They play awesome movies also.
