I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment, and was greeted promptly and cheerfully. Had my temperature taken, and everyone in the shop was masked - I really appreciate Bishops attention to COVID protocols, and feel very safe coming here to have my hair cut.Elle took the time to chat with me about exactly what I wanted in my haircut, making sure she understood what I was asking for. She did a fantastic job, and was just lovely. Ill definitely be coming back!

Brandon is consistently bringing it with his cuts and colors. His dry cut was flawless. He managed to knock out both cut and color in a timely manner and the work is positively breathtaking. He is my go to stylist whenever I want an extreme makeover or for just a simple trim. He is my guy! Go see him at SW Bishops for a good snip snip.

It wasnt the best experience Ive had but it wasnt the worst when it comes to clients happiness while the stylist does what their getting paid for! 🤯To start out I forgot about my cowlick on my right side which didnt even think that I check that side everytime cause I know my hair.. so sorry I messed up to being with. That doesnt call for cutting my hair in that spot as Ive put styling product in and then you try to fix after...Thanks for the jagged, chopped marks in the spot. Lets note forget the main issue which I ordered online for my hair a deep conditioning treatment(needed/wanted)... and which... I get a shampoo wash after the hair cut and I had and I was out of that sink within like 7-9 minutes. She started out amazing but started going to boredom-ville within 25 minutes it seemed. 🤬Pros: of this experience is she had excellent customer service communication skillsCons: not remembering customers satisfaction and level of overall happiness with experience is everything and what the customer ask for is what they should get even if its far from what they need or should have.

I have been going to this spot for over a year. Elle is my stylist, and oh man she is the genuine article! We always do fun things with my hair and I always feel fantastic about my hair after Elle works her magic. I frequent get compliments on the street from the work Elle puts in. She absolutely loves her customers and we have great conversations in our sessions, she is such a warm professional. The whole staff is extremely engaging, the ship is extremely clean and takes COVID precautions very seriously. Heres a fun photo Elle took for her insta after our last session. Sabrina was an excellent stylist she cut my hair exactly as I asked her to me. She was very friendly and answered all of my questions about coloring my hair very honestly. In the corner of the Safeway building, a quirky and awesome place to get ones hair cut. Add the shampoo with the cut. Sadie instantly relaxed me with the massage and shampoo.

I had such a wonderful experience sitting in Romies chair for a (long) haircut. She was so kind and welcoming. Also Sarah in reception was super professional and helpful.Romie made my hair feel incredibly healthy again after doing an at-home manic panic dye job during the pandemic. She was so easy to talk to and I look forward to going back to Bishops SW for dying my hair with my favorite new stylist.The shop also was super clean and quiet.

Go get your hair done by Brandon. By far the best barber I had in Portland. He is super knowledgeable about hair and knows everything for every question you would have about why things are the way they are with your hair. He also gave out amazing tips to adapt and change your hair to get it to look right after getting a haircut maintaining healthy hair routine.

Morgan was excellent! She took care of my haircut (coarse curly hair) like a boss, gave me a lovely deep conditioning, and even recommended some excellent conditioner and hair oil for my kind of hair and scalp. This is my new place🤗

I rate the quality of a haircut by its longevity, that is, how long after the cut does it hold up as a style. And now 2 weeks after, can I just say how many compliments and positive feedback I continue to get about the cut I received from Brandon. It’s 2 weeks later, I’m still feeling fresher than the Prince of Belair. I sat in his chair, showed a few photos, and said, “I trust you,” and man did he deliver. So glad to find my new fav stylist in town. So why the 1 star review? Because he’s also got a delightful personality and sense of humor and specifically requested it. Why? “Because I don’t have one yet.” Def recommend, and while I’m at it, their receptionist was equally as delightful and their pandemic protocols will put any worries to ease.

Brandon at the Bishops in Downtown Portland did a marvelous job on my hair! My super dark brown hair is a blend of blues, purples and pink and the lengthy hair lightening process didnt bother or hurt my scalp at all! I highly recommend Brandon for wild hair colors.

When I entered the place, I was amazed at how it looked inside. They had a lot of pictures and great color on the walls. One wall was also unique as it had a red and blue 3D effect. When I asked for the prices, I wasnt so excited anymore, but Im glad I didnt leave as it was worth the little extra. I waited a few minutes and started the haircut. I started a wonderful chat with my stylist / barber, talked the whole time, and she was very gentle with my hair. She cut behind my ears, which a lot of places always miss with that one long hair. She also let me choose a product to use on my hair, I didnt know a lot so I suggested something that will give a little shine to my hair, but not make my hair stick, and voila, she made my hair. I have never walked out of a barber with a haircut I liked so much before! I highly recommend this place to whoever is reading this and I think you will like it too!

Including Hawthorne and Sellwood I’ve been going to Bishops exclusively for eight years. I’m always happy with my cuts, the stylists are welcoming and friendly, I like the music. Occasionally a cut will need adjusting the next day or two which they’re happy to do. Glad to be going back after cutting my own hair this year.

Brandon Jennings has been my barber for the past 1-2 years and always does an exceptional job. He is very professional but also great conversation. I feel like Im going to see an old friend every time I get my haircut there. I work in a professional setting and his haircuts always leave me feeling clean cut and presentable. Anytime I have something big coming up I make sure I always go see Brandon first. Top notch. Ive had a few of the other barbers there as well and have also had great experiences. I am of mixed race and have had incredible difficulty finding a barber, and for years I gave up and just buzzed all my hair. This is one off two places in all of the Pacific North West I would ever get my hair cut though as they did an amazing job.Edit: My stylist was Romie (I hope I spelled that right!)

I went in to donate my hair ( chopped off more than half of it ). I showed the stylist the picture of what I wanted and she recreated it perfectly! I think her name was Sabrina. Forgive me, Im terrible with names. I also got a shampoo and almost fell asleep because she was so good at massaging my head.

Ryan highlighted my hair yesterday and he did an amazing job!!! He cut it a few weeks ago and I am in love with my hair/highlights for the first time in years!He can also read people, well. They said that the guy would only last one month and that I might not want to spend $250 on a Bollywood highlighting setup and then get them dyed purple and pink only for it to last one month as bright colors. I have been going to Bishops for my hair for years (not regularly, to be fair) and have always had a great experience with the stylists. The salon’s various locations are doing a good job keeping things safe and clean during the pandemic which is important to me because I am immunocompromised.I grabbed a bottle of conditioner recommended for my hair type, too, making the grand total more than I was intending. BUT it was worth it for the cut & product I got - wasn’t tryna play haircut-roulette at a cheap shop.Brandon is a lovely human with strong attention to detail, which is obviously a necessary trait in a hairdresser. I went in with very long, tangly, flat, damaged hair that’s been driving me crazy and asked him to please just cut it off but make it look good. It was a relatively quick visit with a good chat, and he listened to what I wanted/worked with me to reach the desired outcome.I will 100% be keeping Brandon in charge of my locks from now on, both for cuts & color; I don’t remember the last time I left a salon feeling so relieved & confident about my hair.10/10, highly recommend :)

Sabrina has been my go-to for seven years now, and she has never once let me down! I feel like she is a mind reader—she always knows exactly what shade of red I’d like and the perfect amount of layers. Not only is she super talented, but she’s a joy to be around as well!

Bishops is a must-try for everyone with hair! Its not the cheapest cut you can get as a guy, but if you find the right stylist for you it can be the quality of a 40 or 50 dollar cut (at some bourgeoise servicer like Hair M) for half as much. I highly recommend Romie at the SW location!

Romie did an AMAZING job on my haircut. I will be a regular after having her work her magic on my botched home dye job. She’s incredible and a gift to the WORLD.They are taking COVID precautions. I felt safe in that regard as well. This location tends to have more same-day availability as the Bishops by my house in NW, so if convenience, quality, and safety are all important to you, look no further than Romie at the SW location.

Elle is my go-to whenever I need to look good. Ive never had any idea what to do with my hair, and so Ive mostly gone with the same look all my life.However, when I first went to Elle I sat down and just said I have no clue what I want and to do what she thinks would look best, and she didnt disappoint. Since then, I havent been able to go to someone else because I know I can trust Elle to make my hair look its best.

Love this place. Always get my haircut here, and I always get a great deal with that and some good hair products. I look forward to coming back regularly.

With all of the precautions they are taking, you have to get your zen on for appointments later in the day. Everything is moving a little slower. However, they are taking things seriously and ensuring their safety and their customers. Sabrina did a wonderful job of turning my Covid hair into what my wife used to remember my head looking like.
