Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a throwback barbershop experience with a cool vibe. It’s a great spot with some cool dudes hooking you up. I just got my first straight razor treatment and it was off the hook! Just lay back and enjoy the hot towels and treatment. These guys are so solid. They embrace the video game, alternative art, Soccer world and give my son and I an excellent haircuts every six weeks. They speak Spanish and French if you need, will talk philosophy if you want, and will give you some coffee or a drink To go with your haircut. Love this place, just watch out for the train that blocks your way if you made an appointment and are coming from the south side of town.

Ever since meeting Sanchez the Barber I have been excited and relaxed to go to the barber for my man time...I always feel rejuvenated and thrilled about the experience and the haircut. Sanchez is a really good dude, and knows his way around hair like a ninja. He is very respectful and down to earth person and super professional. Each haircut seems to build from the previous one without every feeling routine..there is always something fresh and it is always memorable. Thanks Sanchez.

Highly recommend Fisticuts. After many years of struggling to find a barber that would consistently deliver great haircuts I can say that Robertos the man. Great atmosphere, I miss the pre-pandemic vibe, but it felt very safe with all of their Covid precautions. Unfortunately Ill have to wait to get one of my favourites - the razor shave is a spa treatment in disguise. First time I had it I was going through a particularly hard day and sure enough it did lift my spirit quite a bit. Roberto, Bill and Sanchez have provided the best barbershop I have been to.They also cut womens hair and for the past couple of years my girlfriend has been using their service as well.

The owner is right out of LA and he cuts, fades, shaves and does so much more! They cuts curly, Latin, African, and/or straight hair correctly. They also specialize in LGBTQA hair styles. They are LGBTQA allies and an LGBTQA safe space. I am so grateful I found this place. I was so tired of having my hair messed up by barbers that dont know how to fade....

Online reservations are a breeze, conversation genial and amenities are plentiful. Bill gave me a smooth, shame free transition from 10 years of Great-Clips-Peyton-Manning-style high n tight snips. Fantastic!

Went here after having long hair for a decade+. Gabriel did an awesome job of looking at the picture of what I wanted and making it happen. Super friendly guy, they followed all the COVID precautions, and considering it was a big change for me, made me feel comfortable with the change. Will definitely return!

Been getting my hair cut by Roberto for years, hes the man. The shop is REALLY cool, full of everything from retro street fighter memorabilia to signed Portland Timbers gear. Its a unique barbershop and the vibe of the place is really cool and original! Fisticuts is located in a cool nook of inner SE and all the barbers there are super polite and professional. Definitely check these guys out!

Best Barbershop in Portland! I grew up in Portand and my mother was a hair stylist. Ive always been a picky customer... Roberto & Bill have both cut my hair multiple times and Im consistently happy with the result. Beyond the cut, the shop offers a very original and inviting atmosphere. This is not the uptight and stuffy environment that many trendy New Portland barbershops tend to have. Fisticuts has an inviting space that welcomes everyone and has a real sense of community. Good hair is a must but the welcoming community aspect is whats hard to find, Fisticuts has BOTH!

On my past two trips down to Portland, I had the opportunity to get my haircut done by Roberto. He is hands down my favorite barber. My best haircuts ever were done by Roberto! He was very focused on his craft, and also chatted with him afterwards about the barbershop and video games. If you are in need of a haircut, please stop by Fisticuts and they will take care of you! You can even ask to challenge Roberto to a game of Street Fighter II on his Sega Genesis!

Ive been to many barbers in Portland, and Fisticuts is the best of them. Robertos a great guy--laid-back, friendly, and comfortable either conversing or just letting you relax while he does his thing.None of this would matter if the cuts were bad--but theyre consistently excellent. Roberto is able to know exactly what i want when I describe it in laymans terms to him and translates it into reality perfectly. Hes versatile stylistically--you can get a great quality cut from him thats more conservative and traditional, but Roberto also shines doing cuts that are on the bleeding edge (so to speak) of whats fashionable right now. He doesnt cut most of the Timbers players hair for no reason! My hair game has gotten so much better thanks to Roberto, and my much-complimented ego thanks him.Add on to this: you will likely get a straight razor trim of the back of your neck, and a scalp massage from some awesome piece of vintage Barber tech that I think is from the 60s. Both are super relaxing and put you in a great mood for the rest of the day. Also, the space they have has an awesome atmosphere, with retro chairs, soccer playing on the TV, and great murals of Timbers players present and past. Plus, if you get lucky, you may get to hang out with a Timbers player across from you in the Barber chair!Finally, I want to put in a good word for Bill, who also cuts at Fisticuts. Ive only had my hair cut once with him, but it was also an exceptional cut that lasted me well and he is the nicest guy. You cant go wrong getting your hair cut with either of these guys! I cant recommend Fisticuts strongly enough.

This is easily my favorite barbershop around. Roberto, Bill, and Sanchez all do great work and make great conversation. These guys are clearly dedicated to their craft.Also, they let me play Tetris on their Gameboy, a cut doesnt get much better then that.

Ive been getting my haircut all over the place in Portland for a long time, never quite finding a place with a good atmosphere and good cuts. At some point I burnt out on cookie cutter cuts, and started doing my own (buzz cuts 😬). After some time at that I decided I needed to get a proper fade. So I tried out Fisticuts.Fisticuts is tucked away like a secret hideout in SE Portland, and as soon as you walk in youll feel at home, theyve got drinks, sports, and homages to Bowie and pixel Mike Tyson. This place has got something to make anyone feel at home.I got my haircut by Bill Collins, at the end of the day Friday night. It didnt feel rushed, we had a good conversation about Portland, and I walked away with my best cut in years. Cant recommend this place enough.

Superb barber! Very diverse clientele, so I felt comfortable and was quite pleased with the cut I received. Roberto is definately one of the best barbers in town - hands down.

Ive received two truly great haircuts in my lifetime. The first one was when I was in high school; the stylist executed what I can only describe as a sensual haircut, which had the exact effect on a young, hormonal teen that must have been intended.....considering Id not had a similar haircut before, nor have I since.The second haircut was at Peluqueria Fisticuts, at the hands of barber Roberto Villalobos. Thankfully it was not sensual, but Roberto truly channels the old-school care and attention I can only imagine belonged to the best barbers of yore. He takes his time, conversing with the client on exactly what they want before starting, and does an amazing job. Instead of a mini trimmer, he trimmed my neck hairs with a straight razor, complete with the hot towel and old-school shaving cream.Check out the Fisticuts website, and youll see a host of dapper looking, very satisfied customers. And then set up an appointment. You will be happy you did.

Roberto will probably go down as my favorite barber of all time. So many barbers just do mundane, cookie cutter styles but this man is an artist and really cares about each and every hair cut. I wouldnt hesitate for a second to suggest him to a friend.
