Im getting to old not to treat myself to this wonderful service. A great haircut in a place that I would hang out all day if I could. I havent asked for anything behind the bar, but I am tempted!

Great place and service, its pricey but you get what you are for.

Justin gave me the best haircut I’ve had for while. He is both an artist and scientist in his confident approach. He asked me what I was looking for and respected that. The atmosphere is one of a comfortable, casual and intimate men’s club and it’s a fun place to be. And best of all, a great haircut from Justin.

My husband and I came in from out of town and he desperately needed a haircut. Stopped in without appointment since it looked to cool inside. They took him right away and even gave him a cocktail during the cut! He looked great and the receptionist also gave us a list of good restaurants within walking distance to try for lunch. Friendly staff and if they’re booked solid just add your name to a wait list. I did it and there was a cancellation the next day. Complimentary beverage and a great hair cut in a very atmosphere. Not your typical shop.

Update - September 2020 - the place is definitely not what it was before the pandemic closed things. Went for 2 haircuts since June and was quite satisfied with the first one but the second one was horrible. Very disappointed with the way it turned out and definitely not worth half the money I paid.Unless they step up again, not going back.Highly recommend trying for adult and kids. Great service and reception.Absolutely love the people working there.Professionals with great skills.To give an example - I have not yet had to go in after a haircut to add finishing touches after a day or two. Always walked out feeling like I got my moneys and times worth.

Since being new here, Ive given this place a few tries, and its been fairly disappointing. I try to give good instructions on what I like, and even provide pictures to help. They spend about 10-15 minutes on your hair and out the door. My previous barber used to take a minimum of 30-45 minutes when I had much less hair and it was easier to cut. I also had a coupon for an executive cut here once, and when I got my haircut, I didnt get any of the features of this cut when I told them I had a coupon for it and asked for it. When I went to cash out they told me my coupon wasnt valid and charged me the full amount despite me telling them beforehand I had the coupon. Last time I went there, I made an appointment online (which they make you give your CC info before you even go for your haircut FYI) and showed up promptly, only to sit in the waiting room and didnt get in the chair until 20 minutes after I was supposed to start my haircut. Im a patient person, but I also had lots to do that day, and had to pay extra in parking because my haircut started 20 minutes late.I went to Black Door Barber about 5 minutes away, and had an incredible experience. I would recommend others to do the same.

What a great idea!! A barber... in a lovely setting,, with drinks, and a great soundtrack in the background. My stylist was John who had done excellent input and made me feel like a million bucks! The staff were all very accommodating from start to finish. They kept in touch via text before the appointment and followed up after. They want you to have a positive experience. Tip: arrive in plenty of time to unwind and enjoy a complimentary drink in the overstuffed leather chairs. Will be back.

This place is awesome! After trying a couple barbers around the area and not finding what I wanted, this place really delivered in its value, quality, and comfort. I signed up for the membership and it has been a great decision. Everyone I encounter is always pleasant, especially Samantha and all of the staff at the counter. Im welcomed when I come in and always offered and prepared a drink quickly upon hanging up my coat. Samantha does a phenomenal job with her haircuts is always a pleasure to interact with. She does a thorough job and is excellent at remembering your specific style and cut. The experience is always seamless and it really becomes a treat that you look forward to every time you book an appointment.

I needed a barber shop and gave Blind Pig a try. I go in for a haircut and a beard trim. Every barger Ive had there has been attentive to what Im looking for and is very friendly. My appointment is always prompt and I will have to go on a Saturday sometime so I can try their liquor cabinet. The shop is in the old port and in an older building. You have to take a flight of stairs to get to it. It is very comfortable inside with a nice lounge area. You can also set up an oppointment online which I like a lot.

Walked by while strolling through Portland. I forgot to pack a razor so my wife and I stopped in for a quick beard trim. Really neat place with an open bar. We had a short wait and so ordered cocktails, which turns out, are complimentary! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Service was top notch and I would definitely go back if I lived in the area.

A fantastic experience everytime I go here. I’ve now been going to the Blind Pig for a year and each time I leave I’m impressed.From the moment you arrive you feel welcomed, you are offered a drink while you wait, you can watch tv, so life is good even prior to the cut.Now, prior to Blind Pig my hair was always a disaster. (I wore a lot of hats) but ever since I stepped into the door there, the cuts and styles have been perfect.Now when I say The Blind Pig, what I’m really talking about is the barber Justin. Justin take the time each visit to go over what the plan is. Yes, my hair is that bad that we need a plan, backup plan, and emergency plan.Justin is also awesome when it comes to beards. I don’t even trim my beard anymore out of fear I’ll mess up what he’s done. Each time I walk out of this place I’m more impressed.If you need a great cut, go check this place out and if you’re looking for a guy that can deliver again and again book with Justin, you will not be disappointed.

The Blind Pig Barber has a very comfortable atmosphere, I stayed in the lounge area to finish my drink after my haircut and beard trim. It hits a market that has been left untapped for so long: a place where mens grooming and experience is taken seriously in a barber shop. They have great drinks and better staff. I was - and still am - very pleased with how I looked coming out of the Blind Pig.

Walk-in on a Sunday for an undercut cleanup. They were booked but the lovely staff said they could fit it in. So nice and personable. Ive never felt more comfortable in a barber chair, or listened to! Go here if you want to feel like your barber cares and gets it.

This is my favorite place to get my haircut in Portland (after a couple years of being in town). Its admittedly not inexpensive, but the service is top notch, youre served a beverage, and the shop is very nice. Jaime is the only other person besides me whos cut my beard. She does excellent work.

Ive gone to old school barbers for the longest time that I was initially a little intimidated by this place, but my experience was great! Lily is DAMN good at cutting hair, and all the staff here are super nice and accommodating. Ill definitely be going back.

The haircut is good but thats not really why you come. Membership options, head massages, complimentary drinks, leather chairs and a massage chair are really the sell. Great way to end your week.

Was a great experience. Theres nothing like this in my area of NJ, so I decided Id give it a shot when visiting Portland.10:45am appt. Warm greetings followed by the offer of a drink, be it coffee, beer, or something harder if you prefer. Wife was with me (forgive me for I have sinned), and she kept her voice box shut about the pre-noon drink. Huzzah!!!Meaghan was really down to earth. She took time to explain things about the maintenance/cut/style I wanted, and in the end made me look like a proper gentleman. My wife loved the cut.Too bad I dont live in the area. Id definitely sign up for the membership.You guys/gals should do some research in expanding.

Ive had my hair cut by almost every staff member and have had a great experience. The free drink, alcoholic or not, is an awesome touch, and people are very friendly. Ive had my hair cut a few times now by Elliot and I cant recommend him enough!

HORRIBLE HAIRCUTI could not find a decent haircut in Kennebunk and went all the way to Portland to the Blind Pig, supposedly an outstanding men’s hair salon. I took pictures of exactly what I wanted the haircut to look like, lots of layers, slightly long but not fly-away. I have never had such an absolutely appalling haircut in my life. I don’t thing the person cutting my hair even looked at the pictures because I look like I have been scalped with barely any hair left on the sides and back – it is so short a crew cut would be longer! They seem to know only one way to cut hair and no idea how to style a mature men’s haircut to look professional and executive. This salon makes a big deal of the ambiance and amenities but I would much rather they spend more time training their employees to cut hair the way people ask. Do not EVER go here unless you want a simple crew-cut. Totally incompetent.
