Lots of good equipment. Big open area. People respect each other
After I cancelled personal training sessions with her, the Golds Gym trainer named Evelyn started glaring and starring at me and would ignore me if I tried to speak to her. I find it creepy and unprofessional to be hostile towards a paying customer. I did not ask her why bc why should I? Its weird. Shes weird.
This is by far the worst gym I have ever worked with. Paid a full 12 month contract without any complaints and went to cancel my membership and they said since it wasn’t exactly 30 days notice (today is sept 4 and my payment comes out on the 23rd of each month) they have to take ONE last payment before I can officially cancel it. They just really need that extra cash I guess….
My kids took swim lessons here. (You dont have to be a member to sign them up.) They are pricier than taking swim lessons through the city. ($50 per kid with no discount for a second child). 8 lessons, either M/W or T/Th. They also have private lessons.
Really a clean, nice, bright environment. Just the occasional lack of attention in bathroom for cleanliness and paper towels! Front desk workers always super friendly !
Am moving to the area, considering a membership. Signed up for a free pass online, went in to the club and was told I have to be a resident. Didnt say anywhere on website, just a small blurb at the bottom of the email I didnt read until I got to the gym. Was offered a day pass for 15 dollars. NO THANKS! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
We were visiting Idaho from another state & went with our son. This gym is AMAZING!!! Something for everyone!!
Love the staff and facility, the environment feels dated but still gives that gym vibe. The sauna is a very well kept for its age. The juice bar is an awesome way to refresh your self after a solid work out.
Great gym with friendly staff. If youre looking for a good gym, come to Golds gym.
I love the pool and hot tub and wet sauna. I take my 16 year old son with me all the time. Its our favorite thing to do in the winter.
For the price they should include a trainer. You are paying 100s of dollars for membership. And turn around and charge 100s more dollars to hire a trainer...too many hidden costs too. And they try to make monthly membership so expensive and too hard to obtain. I dont care... I found a cheaper gym. With way more members than Golds and they do include your trainer!
Really great facility. Knowledgeable staff and good customer service. I like that they open early so I can go before work.
I love to work out at Golds Gym. The people at the front counters are awesome and the place great equipment to have a good workout and what is also so great is at the very end of your workout you can go soak in the hot tub or go in the steam room.
Do you want to get healthy strong in shape lose weight good place to go I have trainers ask have a good time well worth your money
Absolutely love this gym!!! I have been apart of golds for over 6 years now! I only give a 4 star review though because of hours of operation. At one point I did switch to Planet Fitness and am considering switching again mainly because of the hours they are open. I work super late some nights on the weekends and I would absolutely love to go to the gym on the weekends when I get off of work but by the time I am off they are closed. There are many benefits to being a part of Golds but the hours they are open just break it for me. I am super dedicated to the gym and wouldLove to go 7 days a week and I have been hoping for a while now that if I hang in the hrs will change but not sure they will at this point! Great staff though, amazing energy, and just overall the best when it comes to equipment and energy.
Its nice clean. Not a lot of people there, which is nice.
Nice clean gym. Very friendly staff!
Used my favourite machine for the 1st time since March and it still had my history.
Love Golds! So much space and different opportunities. Classes are a blast.
Theyll tell you what ever you want to hear... But after you sign up its all lies!!!
Horrible customer service, not clean.
I love the RPM classes!! Thanks so all the freaking amazing instructors!
Have been going here for about 2.5 years. Customer Service is great, whether youre checking in, have questions about membership or getting training sessions, everyone is always taking the time to help. They also have great trainers for Personal Training Sessions, they are also around if you need help with any of the equipment. There are classes that go on throughout the day and you are always welcome, even if youre a little late. They also have classes in the pool. When your done you can relax your muscles in the sauna & shower when youre done.
Great Gym and Staff. Always friendly!
Very pricey but if you can afford it, this gym is a nice luxury. With a steam sauna, indoor pool, jacuzzi, free weights, resistance machines, smoothie bar and alot more. The smoothie bar was my favorite because you can customize drinks. I got a peanut butter blueberry smoothie. Atmosphere is really cool and allows you to stay focused.
Havent really made up my mind, inconsistency in the behavior/culture/people that work there have been a little frustrating.
I was considering getting a membership but after visiting the facility a few times I saw people not wearing masks and not cleaning the machines. Considering the pandemic that we are in, this is not only un-sanitary but it is also a huge health concern which I have reported to the state health department.
Great facility with an abundance of the latest and greatest equipment. Pool, sauna, steam room, its got all the amenities expected. 4 starts because you would expect all this for the premium, not the cheapest place to get your crunk on
Me*Decides to get a membership at the more expensive gym with a steam room.Golds gym*• Shuts down steam room periodically throughout the months.• Shuts down due to COVID.• Changes the agreed-upon rules without a re-sign or out-option effectively voiding the contract.Me*...... Confused.Golds gym*•Shuts down steam room for over a month.Me*•Can I cancel my membership?Golds Gym*• Yea thats gonna be one hundred dollars for ya sir!
They got my fiancé into a 2 year contract that she can’t get out of. I tried talking to them about getting out of it, but apparently they won’t let her. The monthly cost of this gym is expensive, so to be stuck in a 2 year contract is pretty insane and unreasonable when she has only used her membership for a couple of months. Go to Planet Fitness instead. I hear they don’t have contracts AND they are less expensive.
Great customer service to get those gains! 💪🏽
The classes are fantastic! Love this gym:) would recommend if you are looking for variety in your workout.
Pretty impressive gym set up. Classes are great. Too many guys on steroids though.
I have had a great experience so far with this golds gym. My only problem is I usually wont get off from work until ten on Fridays and Saturdays. This makes it hard to be able to work out on those two days. I dont understand why they gym can’t stay open till twelve on these days. I would love to give this gym a five, but until the hours are changed it will stay a 3.
I absolutely enjoy coming to this gym!! The classes are fantastic and everyone who works here is always super kind and positive!
This is an excellent gym with a wide array of equipment and plenty of classes to keep you busy no matter what sort of exercising youre doing and theyre always adding new or replacing old equipment. The free weight area can get cramped if you go during peak hours. The hot tub, pool, steam room and sauna really help after the work out. They also have a protein shake bar that has tasty shakes and excellent deals throughout the year.
Always a good experience.
Nice gym and equipment. Clean. Much better now that they added the functional area upstairs. Its be nice if they turned on the AC during warmer months as the large windows and heat rising makes the upstairs sometimes unbearable to work out there.
Great equipment! Its best to come at off-hours to ensure its not too crowded, but overall a great place!
Good clean place.
Good equipment. Clean. Friendly staff. The new functional area upstairs is great when available.Three gym can get very busy, making it hard to find available equipment sometimes. But overall, Im satisfied.
Pretty darn good! Everything you need, pretty clean, nothing is covered in purple paint like an unnamed competitor. Maintenance on the machines seems totally fine too. But, we need more bikes in the cardio area! A couple more Expressos, or even two spin bikes. There’s always a ton of unused ellipticals and treadmills, but always waiting for a bike. 4 is just not enough, especially at busy times.
Staff is AMAZING! Little over 30 a month but 1 year contract. Wet/dry sauna, pool, hot tub, b-ball court, racket ball, punching bag, as well as free weights and Smith machines. Showers (no time limit) locker room. And babes... Of course!
This place has really bad customer service and billing. Bought headphones there and they didnt work fresh out of the box and they wouldnt return them.Sales rep upgraded my membership and I told him we should wait til the next day cuz my account had nothing in it and he said it wouldnt charge that day but of course it did with overdraft fee. Then after that it didnt charge my account for 2 months after u changed the card and I keep asking the people at the desk if theres something wrong with it and they say no everything is great.Couple months later theres late fees and a big balance on my account. Bad experience here for me. Planet fitness is $10 a month without a contract, 24/7, and people say hi and smile when you walk in.
I asked very specific questions about perks because we have certain things we can do and most of the questions were ignored or skimmed over. The lady was more interested in getting us into a higher priced package than giving us the option of choosing something suitable for us based on how much or when we would be using the gym. Needless to say we walked disgusted and without without joining the gym. Ive been there twice for information (several years apart) and had similar experiences - we wont be going back. Gym is clean for the most part. The top step to the pool is higher than most and can be difficult to maneuver especially with bad hips or back.
This gym had a very welcoming environment, lots of positiveness among the people. I would recommend this place to anyone who is serious about their health and fitness. The equipment is slightly limited to one of each type of movement but there are tons of options to choose from that are available. Overall great place to be for workouts and goals.
Well equipped, large facility, not a store front, great trainers, lots of energy. I meet people that have lost lots of weight and are now fit and feeling much healthier. It is a very positive environment for making change. People are excited to be there. Continue the good work!!
Had a membership years ago and never had a problem. On 8-26-16 I had a friend that wanted to transfer their membership to me. Golds was contacted and stated that she and I needed to come in to do the transfer. Once there the employee informed us that they could not transfer the membership because the account, although current on payment, was no longer under contract. The employee stated there is no policy to transfer and they do it out of courtesy for people under contract. Being that they gladly charge you month to month after your initial term ends, it seems to me that there is still a contract in place. Seems shady. The customer service was poor unless you like being referred to as bro. The management was contacted and it appears they would rather lose business and their reputation than honor their word. Understand employees may make mistakes but that is your problem to correct. Thanks for wasting my time. They certainly showed why the reviews to this facility continue to decline in rating.
Wonderful pool
BEST GYM IN TOWN! Hands down everything you could ask for from staff, events, equipment, training, anything you need to spark the healthy active lifestyle you have been looking for. Thank you for being part of this blossoming community and inspiring a better, healthier drive for this town as a whole!
Great place with friendly people, and open lay out, there are different areas for types of workouts!
I have been a member since golds opened. I have been trying for 3 months to switch my daughters membership to my son. This is something that I have done easily with my 2 oldest children as they left the house. The staff at the counter have been great by taking my name to give to the managers so they could call me. I have left several messages for a manager to call me but they never have. I finally got ahold of them and one of the manager was very short with me and in mid sentence transferred me to the general managers voice mail. I have also left messages for the general managers with no response. I was one of the first 100 member before they built there facility and they meet in the mall. I think there should be more attention to members.
Luv this gym, wonderful front desk customer service, cleaner then most gyms. Im happy to be a member.
Good workout environment
Was $5 for a non-members to go yo the swimming pool, now its $15 per person.
The equipment is hit a miss on if it is going to work or break mid workout. The front desk seems to be staffed by someone that has a vague understanding of what’s going on while there are multiple other individuals just hanging out watching the chaos. And when it comes to using any of the free weights you are pretty much going to have to wait in line due to the fact of the people that have to equipment tied up for 3-4 hours at a time.
The equipment is kept in good repair, although the free weights dont seem to get cleaned regularly. The staff is friendly for the most part if you can get their attention.
I love their water aerobic classes. Also, they have lots of resistance machines and free weights and cardio equipment. Im happy to be a member of Golds Gym.
Weve been members at almost every gym in Pocatello over the last 20 years and we like Golds the best. The staff is always friendly and they have a good selection of equipment. Its a busy place and the equipment gets used allot, so upkeep is a problem as can be expected, but they try. Nice pool and sauna area to soak my old bones and make new friends. Never had any issues like some of the other ratings?? Work your machine!
Overall a solid gym experience.Pros:+Plenty of facilities. Basketball court, 2 racquetball courts, a couple of large multi-purpose rooms, pool, hot tub, sauna... and a near infinite amount of treadmills and ellipticals.+Mostly of the staff is friendly and helpful+Convenient and efficient layout for the most part+Several options for payment plans (I pay annually at a discount)+Lots of classes! I have never participated in any of these so I cant speak to quality, but there is almost always something going on in one of the multipurpose rooms and they seem quite popular.Cons:-Free-weight and dead-lift areas get a little crowded during peak hours. You could probably clear a row of treadmills since those are never full and put in a smaller free-weight area, dead-lift pad, squat rack, or multi-purpose machine.-Some of the equipment is showing its age. Nothing that would hinder an actual workout, but one or two machines always seem like theyre on the verge of falling apart. Wish they would update to some smart-watch compatible tech too.-Some less-used corners of the gym can be a little cluttered and dirty (dust or equipment being reparied, etc). Nothing too bad though.
Great gym, super clean, and great staff!
Its a great gym. I only give it a 3 because its kinda small compared to New York and Seattle and I miss having the theater room and indoor running track. Overall the staff is great and a good place to workout.
Jodi makes this place go round!
Signed up for the $20 start up special in November.. BIGGEST MISTAKE!!! Leslie told me that if at anytime I needed to cancel there I would not have to pay a fee. I moved back to Boise last week and for that reason I won’t be needing a membership at the Pocatello location nor the Meridian one because of my new location. After learning that I now have to pay a $100 cancellation fee it’s safe to say I do not recommend this gym to anyone. The same sneaky stuff just to get money out of you. Also, they could use some new equipment.. it’s not up to date at all.
Shortly after Christmas the lap swim hours were cut down to allow for swimming lessons to run later in the day. Then lap swim was stopped completely during lessons four days per week. Those lessons were, according to the board in the pool area, to go no later than 6pm. At 6:45 the pool was full of kids having lessons with no open lane. The employees at the desk did go check when I asked about it, but didnt seem to think that the ten more minutes from the instructor was a problem. It has been made increasingly more difficult for lap swimmers since Christmas. The weekend is no better as they close early leaving only a couple of hours for lap swimming before closing, and they clear the pool 30 minutes before closing. The majority of weekend hours are open for families and kids. Early morning is not an option for me, so Im terminating my nearly seven year membership.
My husband goes to this place and my son had swimming lessons here. I personally wouldnt work out here. I dont it a place of being comfortable for someone whos a little over weight and wanting to just work out at her own pace. It bugs me when people stand around waiting for your machine like its the only thing they have to do. I see this when I took my son for swimming lessons. Plus the instructor for swimming lessons is a bit abrupt. I plan on taking my son somewhere else for lessons. He doesnt need some one constantly getting after him when hes there for swimming lessons specially when your not paying attention to him and hes going under and its not until I say something that you do something. That happened a couple of times.
It is my first year in this gym and I am not happy with few things in there :1- it is really small2- always full3- not that clean (locker room, bathroom )4- the pool is dirty, a lot of hair and other small dirt pieces? ?do not swim in there. Please make it better.
Was a blast. Want to punch the bag again. Highly reccomended.
I love this gym. The staff is friendly and I just started personal training sessions with their most recent training team member, Kaitlin. Not to mention the different classes (rpm, BODYPUMP, etc) are fun and motivating as well. Thank you, Golds Gym!
$15 is way to much for a day pass. You only spend like 2 hours at the gym. Who wants to pay that much for 2 hours.
The best gym in pocatello! I love the staff. Super clean facility! Sauna, swimming pool, women’s workout room, and new equipment.
My husband and I started our membership with a clarification that if we moved out of the area, it would null and void our contract, without any trouble. Now that we have moved, I have been trying for 2 months to cancel our contracts, I began before my move, going into the gym, and on the phone, no one could help me. Now here we are in June, I requested a call from a Manager (who miraculously never seems to work) and got an email 3 days later. Now I am being told that there will be a charge for my husbands contract to be ended. So either they bait and switch their customers to sign a contract, or they manipulate their customers when they move. Either way do not sign up here, its a nightmare.
Came in to take a look at the facility and was told that I couldnt even look at the equipment without a councillor which they didnt have available. Staff was really indifferent about it. I definitely would not go back
I love this gym. They have an excellent range of equipment which is kept in good repair.I attended in spite of Covid19. It was relatively easy during off hours. I just wore a mask between sets and moved if someone got too close.Even with standards relaxed, its still wise to follow safety protocols. The staff still wears masks and require clients to use the sanitizer spray bottles and wipes BEFORE and AFTER using the equipment.Sanitation protocol is posted prominently. This business has been doing as much as feasible for our health and safety, but the ultimate responsibility is up to us.Fitness Freaks♥️ Healthy Boys
Compared to other gyms in the region, it is OK,—probably the best Pocatello has to offer. A swimsuit water extractor in the locker room would happily earn the gym another star.
The only thing that I dont like is that it isnt open late on a Friday night. I know that not many people want to work out then, but I get off work at 9 M-F, and hate that there isnt quite enough time to actually workout after work on Fridays. The staff is great, the machines are nice and well maintained, and there is a good mix of people who have been working out for a long time, and those just starting. I also feel like there is no judgement if you are just starting (like me).
The young man who signed me up was amazing. I loved the spin class. I disagreed with the Gym Enhancement fee as it was never discussed. After the disagreement was settled, I was told that my electronic signature wasnt on file and I needed to sign again. That day I, simply had forgotten to sign on the way out of the building. The next time I showed up to pay my membership, and sign, I was told my membership was canceled. Definitely a one star morning.
It do be bussin
Golds Gym Pocatello is a fantastic gym! They are always making improvements, upgrading, adding new classes. I really enjoy the group classes. The instructors are super helpful and keep you motivated! Kids Club is perfect for the hour workout! Thanks for the great place to work out in Pocatello!!
I love the management, I love the equipment, I love the classes, I love the trainers! They have helped me transform my body
Favorite gym
Love this gym, great environment wonderful staff and some of the best classes and workout choices you can find! Also, being locally owned makes it even better!
What a beautiful gym and atmosphere ❤️
I have been a member for a little over 4 years. I use the locker room to get ready for work 3 times a week and the cleanliness of the showers, sinks, ect always exceeds my expectations. This year they added smart-treadmills so I could stream the lectures for my online ISU courses during my runs. The Group Exercise instructors are so much fun, and I look forward to going.I lost almost 100 lbs and Golds Gym helps me maintain a weight and lifestyle I am happy with. Thanks to all the staff, youre fabulous!!!!!
Ive been a member of this gym since they opened. Lots of good equipment. They also have a swimming pool.
Great facilities but far to over priced also staff could be a little better and is always trying to.push stuff on you
Kinda pact at 6 but has all you need to workout
As an owner of a business out here we support all local businesses. I know how important it is for me to be available if ever there is a problem with our guests. I went in today because my dr recommends me to not work out for medical reasons. As soon as I went in the front of desk manager was so rude, I did not deserve that. I was nice and just asked to cancel my membership with having my Drs note in my hand. He didnt care to look at it. He said I need to pay $100 to cancel. Now I understand if I was canceling for no reason or just didnt want to pay. But having a medical issue and bring treated the way I was, was absurd. When I asked to speak with the manager he said he doesnt know when she will be in and that he can pass along the message. Than says she will be in at 11am to do an interview and maybe she can call me. This is so disappointing and just not okay to be treated so horribly. After all the support our business has done for them, Im shocked, and very unhappy!
Solid gym with good equipment. Gym fee is fair. However there a lot of people who workout at night, so I would suggest going in the morning or after 8 pm.
Overall very adequate in price and equipment.Of course I mean for the area.Would be silly to pretend Pocatello has much in common with New York or Seattle. So for Bannock county it is not just OK it is very good.I saw dirtier gyms.It is conveniently located next to at least 3 big car dealerships and few tire places, so if you are out of town you can always hit the gym, while your vehicles are being serviced. It is not big,but neither is the city of Pocatello.I liked the equipment, most of the time I did not have an issue with overcrowding, randomly the pool area was not available due to some senior citizens class. And when it was the steam room and sauna were often out of order.Steam room could be out of order for quiet a few weeks at a time. Now the customer service definitely left much to be desired.Sales team was fine, but front desk staff could be condescending and rude without any particular reason.Once the card I provided for payment expired,I caught it in 2 weeks(nobody sent me a reminder via postcard, email or a text message) so I asked the girl at the front des very politely to update my payment info and make sure there are no late fees, which she did,but ...she gave me such an attitude.Treated me like I am her retarded nephew or some scum artist who routinely switches his modes of payment just to skip and avoid reimbursing what is due.And I know where an f word lives,I just tried to be polite. So to summarize, equipment is decent, customer service is poor.Use at your own risk.
Love all the equipment and its such a positive environment. I love seeing other people there motivated to get in fit.
All the staff & trainers are great and always willing to assist in any way they can. The facility is always clean & being cleaned.
They presser people to get membership even though they dont really want them!!! Then they make it REALLY REALLY HARD for those people to then get out of the members and if they are able to then they will charge them a lot of money for a cancellation fee!!! Its just not right and should be illegal!!!
Kept charging for six months even after we went in and cancelled when our contract was up. Finally had to close my bank account. Went in 10+ times and told them we want to cancel but like talking to pieces of wood just dont listen. Would like to go back after these years but dont trust them.
Clean, well laid out, good equipment
Would give this establishment 5 stars if they were open 24 hours a day. Schedule really fkn sux. Seriously. Im trying to get pumped and I can only do it within a certain time frame. Weak bro.
Body pump classes! $10 drop in for our of town guests seemed reasonable.
Great facilities and good child care
Just found they messed up my account cancel my card on file. They called me saying that I called and canceled the card on the account months ago and that I owed them $200. Problem one, Ive never spoken to them on the phone and would have no reason to cancel the card. Problem two, they wanna $100 dollars over what I owe them and have already sent it to collection. There are cheaper and better alternatives all over the place this place sucks. Dont let these people rob you too!
Woman are not allowed to wear what you want. I payed to workout not to get told what I can and can’t wear. Machines takes long to get repaired.
