“Invest in Bitcoins rather than in City sports”.Worst experience. Long story short. “Personal training is a trap”. It’s like a monthly investment which you won’t be able to use in Fremont. No refund No customer service/support. If you cancel you won’t be able to use existing session. Amazing policy. I had an argument with the management for not being able to use it. Down graded to 1 session a month from 4 as I already have lots of sessions which I wasn’t able to use during pandemic. After that I was never able to find a session in Fremont. If you are someone who lives in Fremont and looking for personal training go somewhere else. Now I have to drive to another locations for training.

When pandemic started they have frizzed my account, later they started charging even I didn’t use. If we call them they say you need to come to location. They even don’t cancel personal trainer. I ended up paying 1200$ without using any service. Worst service ever. I recommend not to join.

I was told I can pay in cash over the phone before coming in but that wasn’t the case when I arrived waste of time. went to 24hour and got set up pretty fast

Go here if you want to pay $100 to be fat shamed... even if youre in the ideal body weight and fat percentage category.Seriously though, please do not take their free fitness assessment because their information and goals they give TO you could cause some serious harm. It wasnt just one person either; two were seriously unprofessional (one didnt even bother to show up).The gym is all good and fine, but theres no way I can give a positive review here.

City Sports is doing a good job for the covid pandemic by making sure everything is sanitized and members are spaced apart.

There are no rules here! Had to leave the gym because two folks think they own the place are flerting and using three machines while they chat without a mask! Nobody can use those machines because they’re “”using”” and no one wants to be around them, and that’s right in front of “manager” who doesn’t do anything!

Follows pandemic guidelines, and you get your own disinfectant to carry and wipe down machines before and after use.

No service of water, the sinks smells so bad no body cleaning, the soda machine not working the front desk cant fixed it, but rest of the gym its clean and its big space

The amenities at this location are good, but the best part is the great trainers. Ive been training with Ida for a few months now. Shes always so upbeat and encouraging. I really appreciate her positivity and find myself looking forward to our workouts because even though I dont feel great about about my body, having someone I can consider a friend and who wants to see me succeed and be a healthier, better me makes it a great experience. Thank you, Ida!

The facility itself has required equipment for workout, and I dont have any issues with that. However, from the upkeep and maintenance perspective, such as paper towels and hand sanitizer availability on the gym floor became worse recently. I understand the supply chain issues due to the Pandemic, but running a facility where people sweat and use the equipment with their hands, which doesnt have a way to clean them makes the equipment for potential contagious. I raised the matter to one of the gym instructors, and response is individual responsibility to go to mens room and wash the hands frequently. Most of the facilities I visited have notices of self-quarantine for individuals travelled to certain countries (similar to CDC recommendation), but I dont see one on the front door and some posts across the gym about proper sanitation due to recent health concerns. I would have personally shared this concerns to management if I have their contact email, but with out that information I have to share the concerns as a review.

It’s a trap. Stay away! The gym gets very crowded in weekdays where no single machine is available. The machines are also dirty and not well-maintained.Beware of the hidden subscription fees. I was told that monthly membership costs $35/month only. However, I was charged $175 initial fee $50 annual fee as well. I ended up paying $260 from the first day!

I really like their layout of equipment and the overall layout of where and how things are designed, also very friendly people..

I started going to this location for 2 months now and like it a bit more than the Hayward, Whipple location. Much bigger, more machines, and best of all, its open until midnight on Monday thru Thursdays.Pros: Free parking, lots of spaces; has a huge free weight section; 3 racquetball courts; punching bags; lap pool; hot tub; sauna; basketball ball court; lots of different classes from kick boxing to yoga; coaches and staff are nice; early mornings and Sundays are the best times to workoutCons: Over crowded some times; still have annoying patron that have no etiquette or manners; small corner area for stretching; many machines and equipment need servicing; not enough paper towels ever; louder noise level; opens at 8am and closes at 8pm on weekends.

Clean and nice gym. They have pretty much everything you want at a gym. I pretty much just go to play racquetball. It would have been nice to have 4 courts like most of their other gyms. It can get a little hard to get a court sometimes

The front staff are poorly trained and have no customer experience. Add to this the mentality of City Sports management on getting maximum fees with weird rules. The recipe from this is, a front staff trying to catch for small meaningless infraction. I am probably one of the highest paying club member with personal training added for my son. Now, city sports have a weird fees structure, you can have a primary member with a secondary guest member, the primary member is around $29/mo and secondary is $20/mo. If you have three members in your family, it is better all three members are primary. Why?? In this three member family, the guest member is paired with one primary member only. If the other primary member takes the same identified guest with him, they wont allow the guest. The front staff member goal is to make life hell for the members at any cost. Some of the front staff members make a judgmental call, when they see that primary member has come to drop the guest for a Personal training session and not even staying in the gym. The other 50% front desk staff, catches you making mistake like this and they dont give a hoot, that a $520/month paying family of three should be allowed to drop a guest member who is paying $400+/mo for personal training. Lack of education and customer experience of some of the front desk is the reason for this behavior! These guys high fiving for catching this infraction should think twice on who is paying their damn salary.. I will be moving out of gym and will be shopping in couple months after my 6 months of PT sessions for my son runs out. The PT session are amazingly good for my son, nothing else good stands out. I have barely gone few times in last 3 months due to travel and every time it is busy and place is not kept clean.

Overall is clean and good except Sauna. It smells horrible all the time that you can’t sit. When you go inside it feels like you gonna vomit.

WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN A GYM BEFORE. Really nice gym, lots of nice equipment. good pricing. almost signed up but their sales tactics are very pushy and intrusive. they questioned me about my fitness goals and habits for like 30 minutes. they say its so they can give you the right membership options but its really so they can use your answers for their sales pitch. after knowing Ive attended multiple gyms and training programs they still treated me like I knew nothing about working out or diet. despite the pushy sales pitch I was still very interested in their facility. I wasnt ready to sign up that day as I was still planning to tour other gyms. then I met the GM, Earl. after being questions by the membership rep for almost 45 minutes at that point, the GM came over and started asking me the same questions over again even though he had all the answers on a piece of paper right in front of him. they seemed offended that I was looking around at other options. finally I decided to get up and leave. the GM tells his colleague as Im walking away that I cant afford the other gym I had visited already. I dont know if he intended on me heating or not, but I did. I followed him back to desk and said excuse me? I then asked for his corporate number and he referred me to the front desk as he has to take a call.

Very nice gym. Has everything. Very clean, too. The only complaint I have is that they dont have disinfectant spray. They have hand sanitizer that you put on a paper towel and wipe with that. Seems strange to me. But its not so terrible that I would give it a 4 star rating because it really is a great gym.

Not sure if the place lacks rules or people coming here behave badly. Men walking nude in changing rooms is a regular sight. Esp when so many kids come here to learn swimming.

I am impressed with the swimming pool at City sports. The place is very clean, the employees especially those at the front desk are polite and friendly. It has been more than a year since I started swimming at this place and I am really happy.

This gym is great, spacious, a little busy but i can get through it. Personal trainer daniel is really cool, talk to him about anything. Everybody is very kind. Thanks! Oh and really good prices

This place was ok for a while about 2015-2017. However, bullying in the spinning room and reserving bikes hours in advance eventually drove us to cancelling our membership.Also, there are no rules here. Want to sit on a machine browsing Facebook for 15 minutes while others wait? This is the gym for you! Want to drag random equipment all over the place to do weird crossfit workouts any place you want? Come on down. Want to record yourself lifting weights with a go-pro while others wait for equipment? City sports is the perfect gym for anyone who just doesnt give AF about others.

A bit disappointed, I am a member and I took a guest along with me to play racquetball. There are 3 racquetball courts but they only have 1 racquet and 1 ball to offer at the front desk which was already taken when we reached there. I had my racquet but I couldn’t find one for the guest. It was embarrassing. Hope the management gets some raquacets and balls to at least balance the ratio.

Becky at the front desk is the best. She works so hard keeping everything in control and clean. Such a bright face to welcome you.

Employees are not paying attention to the anyone but there phones! All the equipment is all over the places! The new manager has nothing under control. But when Joe was here he was the nice and professional gym manager Ive ever met and he had things under control gym was always clean Cus he knew how to work with others!I WANT JOE BACK AS A MANAGER!!!!!!

The pool has so much chlorine that you will have that smell on you for days. People actually wear shoes and sweaty clothes and even bring phones into the sauna. It is really sad, because it would be great to have a pool open late in Fremont. The gym equipment all seems fine, so my one star is a little unfair, but my interest was in the pool and sauna.

The gym is unsafe due to weights and equipment lying around everywhere and lack of barbell clips. There are only two sets of clips, which means that most people using a barbell will be using it without clips. Without clips, if I’m on a barbell, it’s unsafe for those around me, or if I’m near others with barbells, it’s unsafe for me. Staff does not encourage customers to re-rack weights or help by doing it themselves.Also, the shower curtains have mold, the bathrooms are always a mess, and they smell like urine all the time.People always wear shoes and dirty clothes in sauna.

Best place with wonderful equipment and plenty of space for maximum occupancy..But if you go at the peak timing s from 6-7pm you can’t use not even one machine.

Management has closen early every night Ive been there. Staff cuts corners. Crime is a huge problem here, I park my in the front under a light. Car got stolen at peak hour right out of the parkinf lot on 10/20. 24 Fitness on Mowry is way more professional for sure.

Worst place to go I been trying to cancel the personal training for more then 2 months and I still havent been able to do it.. just got charged again for another $220.00 for something that I havent used and every time I call to cancel they take my information and tell me that they are going to call back and they never do it. They always say that the only one that can cancel is Scott and I keep calling but still no luck to cancel I have talk to him personally about cancellation and I even ask him if I needed to sighn any paper for cancellation and he said no... so please before you in roll with personal training think before you go to this place

The gyms atmosphere and employees are nice if you DONT have children. The two ladies who work the morning shift in the kids Club are unwelcoming. I had to cancel my membership just after three visits.I didnt get the chance to meet the kids club employees before signing up since I came in on a Sunday. I knew I shouldnt have signed up without meeting them first. However, having worked in a kids club myself, and knowing how friendly, bubbly, energetic and welcoming kids club attendants can be I put my faith in the club and signed up.That is where I misjudged. Upon my first visit I entered the kids club not to be greeted with a smile and a hello. But an irritated face and Are you new? Did you check in the front? No one introduced themselves.I introduced myself and my children and let the women know this was my first time leaving my children to a strangers care. ...I got no response. Not even assurance they would be in good hands. Such uneasy feelings. The energy was not happy. I felt they didnt want to be there.There was also a large band aid and a baggy on the floor. I informed them of the band aid and picked up the baggy myself.They had babies crawling around. So dangerous!! (It wasnt busy in there. No excuses)Second time I still wasnt greeted upon entrance. And neither were my children. They dont acknowledge you. ...I left my children for a 55 minute class and came back to my 8.5 month old daughter in the same place I left her but knocked over on her back. She was fine but come on!Later that day I called the manager to inform him of my disappointment. He said they were mothers themselves and hes never had a complaint about them...well youre getting one now. I come in for my third and final time a day later. Still no greeting for myself or my children. I reluctantly dropped them off and headed upstairs. I couldnt help but think about how uncomfortable I was leaving them with these unfriendly people who couldnt even acknowledge me and show respect. I pay for your services and I pay for your paycheck. Have some respect and be professionalAnyhow.. That doesnt make for a good workout so I headed back down 10 minutes later to pull them out and cancel. Thankfully with a full refund.(assuming Ill get it in three business days).The manager was nice by the way. ...but paying more for these services at 24 hour fitness is worth it if the staff is welcoming and friendly, especially those who work with children. 24 hour fitness also has a separate supervisor for their kids clubs.In the end if you dont have children its an excellent gym. If you have children be weary, and meet them before signing up to see if youre comfortable leaving your babies. atleast for the morning ladies. I didnt meet the evening staff.

Did the guest pass online to try to see if I would like it because I was thinking of either here or one other gym. Wouldnt give it to me because it was only for people who havent worked out before and told to me to just buy the membership even though I had never tried their gym or had any idea where anything in their gym was. KEEP AWAY! They are completely unprofessional.I start a membership with my wife 2 years ago. 6 months ago I canceled. Today I noticed i was still been charged. Calling them, they informed that my wife had to call too to cancel her account. I was receiving ONE charge of around $50. After the cancelation they continue to charge $34.95. Without telling me. Without my permission. I am going to complain with Best Business bureau. Save yourself and get a more expensive but transparent membership. It was really crowed anyway, one the reason I canceled.

I feel cheated out of my money. I called the store and talked to one of the employees. I asked her if she could put my account on freeze, she said we can of course. She then proceeds to tell me everything is good, there will be a charge of 10 dollars a month until you want to unfreeze. I checked my bank account the next billing date and they charged me the full 34.95. This is not acceptable, if you tell me everything is taken care of, it better be! Im going in to talk to them, to get my money back. Unacceptable!

Workout and go home to shower. The locker room is clean but Ive never seen a shower, from what I hear you dont want to go into the sauna. And if you happen to go after a swim class, guaranteed youll be walking on water on the bathroom. Be careful.

I use this gyms pool for my daughters swim lessons and it seems like a pretty nice hardbody type gym but has a pool, sauna, and showers.

Never, never and never go to this club, the place is dirty, staff are rude and disrespectful. Also there are many hidden thefts inside the center. Most importantly,, the managers team over there only know how to convince you to sign up and do not responds for any complains or lost they have. Absolutely avoid this place.

Want a flea market experience? Join this club.It is very crowded most of the day and you will inevitably get folks talking on their cell phones on speaker mode, including conducting their small business or others having conversations like they were in their own home while on the treadmill - never mind that this is not their private gym and they are loud enough that you cannot block them out even with a noise-cancelling headset. I do not want to listen to other peoples phone conversations and should not be forced to do so. They obviously have significant clientele at this gym that lacks common courtesy.Mentioned this numerous times to the Manager of the club and member services management - they tell me they understand why I am annoyed but they are not willing to do anything. And this is at off-peak times. I dread to imagine the cacophony during peak hours!After complaining the 5th or 6th time about this, I finally walked out today after canceling my membership. My only regret is that they get my last months membership for free as I will not be able to use the gym during that time for personal reasons, but then, I guess charity goes a long way.

Very bad experience with them. First time u have to pay the first and last month, which means when you want to cancel it, you have to pay an extra month. They charge initial fee, annual fee. Seems like they are doing one-time business, not expecting comeback customers.

Fraud guys work here. I signed up for their personal trainers program. At the time of registration, the person told me that you can cancel it any time if you dont like it. Now when I realised after 2 months its difficult for me to go regularly, I went their and asked for cancellation. They asked me for 50% of the 12 months fee to be deposited now to cancel it. What BS is this ? And when I said at the time of sign up, I was told that I can cancel anytime without any issues. The manager of the club told me, well that guy doesnt work here anymore.

This gym has a very good basketball court which is the reason I go here. The only problem is that they dont keep the gym clean.

CitySports Freeeeemont, same great gymnasium/staff & same great service. Very wide open & spacious. PT staff is/was extremly helpful & fun...they could clean up (free weights) some of the training areas more often & the shake staion could/should open up, then they can take MY $.
