My #1 go to nail place in Pittsburgh!!I am a repeat customer of Oakland Nails, and I absolutely love this place! Mia is so nice and is always down to brainstorm with you to create a beautiful set of nails for you. I have been going to get acrylic sets/fills and get pedicure and I always leave the shop with my nails looking perfect. My most recent set is a cute little flowery set! Mia always make sure to check how you are liking the set in every step to be 100% certain that the nails are perfect for you. The prices are also super duper reasonable in regards to the results. I have been to Mia twice for acrylics and repairs and each time she has done a PHENOMENAL job. I definitely am going to be a regular there and I’d recommend her to anyone. Mia is great at communicating with her customers to make sure they are comfortable and that they like her work so far. Every now and then she checked in to make sure I like the shape, length, shade, etc. which I really appreciate. I am very hard on my nails, but hers will last longer than any other salon I have been to. Overall, 10/10 recommend!

Mia always does a fantastic job. She’s great at what she does. She gives the best suggestions and makes easy conversation. I’ve rarely had a chip and if a problem does arise, she’s quick to fix it. I get gel acrylics and each time they last me 2-3 weeks. Each time she hits it out of the ballpark.

Before I went to oakland nails I went to two different salons who just squeezed me in, rushed through my manicure and it showed. After that I was referred to mia by a coworker and ill never go anywhere else. Mia gives suggestions and helps you choose the best design, and I am in love with my nails each time I leave. Malia was great and super professional. I came in with a more complex request and she went out of her way to make it happen. She even opened up new products to ensure that I would have the best result and tested the coloring out for me to make sure that I liked it. She really went out of her way to do my designs, shape my nails and perfect my requested ombre look. The best set of acrylics you can get in Pittsburgh in the Oakland area for sure. Malia has great quality acrylic. I waited a month between my fill and my nails were still secure. Usually when I go to other salons after 2 weeks my nails begin to lift or the nails break. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the Oakland area. Great service for great prices!

I was so happy with my experience! I wanted a gel manicure to feel put together for a medical school interview. A young nail tech with slightly less experience worked on my nails, and Malia, the owner, was there the whole time to give tips and clean my nails up at the end. Everyone was very friendly and the store was super clean and nice to be in. I will definitely go back the next time I want my nails done.

Very cute little salon hidden away on South Craig with great prices and even better customer service. They have a 10 day guarantee on gel polish and when one of my nails peeled off, they completely redid them for free (because there was an issue with them)! They also take Venmo and do online booking making it so easy! Absolutely love!

After reading reviews, I thought this would be a great and convenient place to get my nails done. However, my nails have chipped after three days. I have never gotten a gel manicure that chips that quickly. People were nice and had an OK color selection. Place was a little bit dirty. Wouldnt go back, though. Woman working there told me she prefers Venmo (avoiding taxes much??) I do not think its right to ask a customer to pay by their preference. Overall, not worth the money.

I got my first French gel manicure here and I was so pleased with the results that I plan on coming only here. The space is a bit small and theres only two workers so it can be a bit cramped, but that usually works out well since the environment is very warm and friendly and it encourages everyone to talk with one another. Great service, reasonable prices, and Mia is exceptionally nice with her customers.

I always get great service from Malia, Ive been seeing her for over two years. She knows what shes doing, puts up with the fact that Im sensitive (and is actually trying to find a good primer for me because of that), and gets me in last min constantly (because Im totally that person). She does the BEST nail art (the best, bar none) and is super creative when I say things like flowers. I love her and her new shop is SO adorable. Its cosy and clean and awesome.

This is the best nail salon in and around Pittsburgh. I have tried MANY nail salons in the pittsburgh area and have not walked out happy with my nails. Mia does an absolutely incredible job and makes my acrylic nails look natural and clean, not big and clunky. I am not one to write reviews, but Oakland nails deserves 5 stars.

Oakland nails is a very professional environment with a home feel. Malia takes her time with each client, while still providing fast, quality work and amazing nail art. She has a LARGE variety of colors, she appeals to everyones needs (kids and adults), and shes very sweet. The location is perfect, venue is cute and comfy and I recommend Oakland Nails to everyone !

My nails turned out well, which is why this gets 3 stars. She offers a 10 day guarantee on gel, which I like, and they did indeed last 10 days. But, the way she trimmed my large toe nails wasnt great - they didnt grow in so well and were a little painful. The salon space left some things to be desired. It didnt look sparkling clean in the way youd hope it would to inspire your confidence in such a tiny little nail shop. And the bathroom was kinda gross. She runs the place completely independently (which is awesome) but that also means some of the girls hanging out watching crappy TV in massage chairs and pampering themselves atmosphere doesnt apply here - only one client at a time, no tvs. She does love to chat with you, which is great, but fair warning that some of the topics of conversation were not professional. I didnt mind so much, but it could turn some people off.

I came in with some crappy nails that i got done from another place, she fixed them up so perfect. She’s fair with her prices doesn’t over price and have a very good selection of nail polish. Love her work highly recommend🙂.

Thanks to Malia my nails grew a lot and looked fabulous while I was dealing with a stressful few weeks. I got my finger nails done with gel about two-three weeks ago and my thumb polish is still going strong (I picked away the paint from the other nails). My toe nails look great too but I can’t stop raving about my fingernails! She was such a nice person, talked about some interesting things that I didn’t expect to talk about, and did a great job with my nails. It’s a bit weird to be in there just you and her but once you get over the initial awkwardness, the experience is personable and relaxing. There aren’t a ton of people getting their nails done at the same time- it’s you and her and she wants to make sure she does a good job so be sure to share your input (nicely). Overall, I highly recommend Oakland Nails (go in where it says Phantom Games and walk up the steps). Bring cash, she prefers it to keep her prices reasonable.

Malia has been doing my nails for 3 years. Her work is technically excellent, truly better than anyone elses I have used, and she has really a good eye for what works with my hands. I go for very classical styles and colors (40s Hollywood to totally natural looking acrylic long nails), and she is awesome at it. Great selection of colors and products. Going to Oakland is going to mean a bit of extra drive for me, and I will make the drive (already have!).

Take walk-ins. I called see if they were available 20 minutes before I came and she said yes. I got there and she says they only appointments only on Friday and Saturdays. Could have mentioned all that on the phone

Litterally the best service Ive gotten in Oakland. Fun and honest conversation, great music, love the space and the mint color on the walls. Its an intimate cute spot with a fabulous nail tech who will tell you straight up what colors are looking great on you!! Shes also quick and professional Im only going here!!!! Make sure you call ahead cause her schedules always packed which Im not shocked about because shes so good. AND HER PRICES ARE RESONABLE which as a college student I appreciate!

Malia has been doing my nails for the past 2+ years after a coworker recommended that I go to her. Honestly, I dont trust ANYONE else to do my nails. Malia goes the extra mile for me and my satisfaction. She takes her time and makes sure to book enough time to finish my nails without having to rush to start someone elses. I often times let her freestyle on my nails and try new things but if I dont like it she is happy to change it for me. I cant say enough good things about Malia or her shop Oakland nails!

Am I the only person here whose nails didn’t come out that great? The other reviews here are misleading. I think a more honest assessment needs to be seen by people considering going here. Yeah, Malia is very nice, but I found her to be unprofessional and too relaxed when she should have been focusing on doing a more precise job on my nails. She is personable, friendly, etc., but that doesn’t speak to her actual talent. Not to be harsh, but it looks like a 12-year-old did arts and crafts on my fingers. I am disappointed with the outcome after reading all the rave reviews for Oakland Nails, which were the whole reason I drove 35 minutes out of my way just to go there. Based on how my nails came out, I wouldn’t call this a 5-star establishment.
