I went to go get a hair cut, low cut specifically on April 28th 2021. I had a fade which had grown out and i wanted all of my hair leveled. I told the barber on duty that i wanted it all the same length that he should only reduce the top. When he started, i noticed that he was cutting my hair aggressively but i decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, since he is the barber so he knows best and this place has great reviews.The barber did a horrible job and I have patches all over my head from hair cut he gave. It took me so long to write this review because I was having finals which occupied a lot of my time.

Ive been a customer here since 2017.. The atmosphere is unwelcoming.. cherry is very rude and has a bad attitude she also cuts in conversations that have nothing to do with her.. no one answers phones and its impossible to schedule appointments.

Was a regular client for loc maintenance. The stylist and owner does a good job and fast. But... Over past 2 years the business has declined drastically in terms of professionalism. Pricing inconsistent and It is increasingly difficult to schedule an appointment, as for no one ever answers phones or calls back. Or appointment reminders.

Just took my son to this salon to get his hair braided. The young ladies here are not friendly at all and need to take some customer service etiquette classes. No “Hello” no “How are you today?” Nothing. I will never step foot in here again and I would surely not recommend anyone to patron this business. I wanted to leave but I didn’t want to embarrass my son. It was his first experience in a salon and wanted it to be a good one. I was only going to give a $5 tip but felt bad so I gave a $15 tip. Did I get a thank you? Of course not.WE HAVE TO DO BETTER.I can’t speak for the Barbershop side, the young man at least spoke to us 😏

One of the worst haircuts I’ve ever gotten lmfao. I don’t even ever write online reviews. Thought it looked fine when I left but when I got home the sides and top were so uneven and crooked I ended up getting another haircut from somewhere else to fix it.

Had Ms. Cherry retwist my hair. Told me to be there at 8:30 and I was in the chair at 8:29. This has been hands down the best retwist I’ve ever gotten, so if you in Pittsburgh you gotta go see Ms. Cherry with the vicious hands.

I went to Natural Choice about 4 times and have scheduled El for each one. He has been over an hour late for two of those appointments. Each time he cut my hair, he was on his phone and/or was in a bad mood. Last time I went, I asked for a bald fade with an inch left at the top. He shaved me bald, left the top super uneven and patchy, and made my hairline look atrocious. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who cares about their hair.

The barber shop portion is amazing. But the salon portion is not so great. When I first made an appointment and came 15 minutes early, they had the nerve to tell me that I was late when I wasnt. And at my rescheduled appointment, they only did half of what I asked.

Good Clean establishment but not necessarily a business, barbers show up whenever they want. While sitting on paid parking and waiting for aq barber to show up at the opening time. Really frustrating. The hair salon section values its customers more and respecting the hours posted.

This shop is where I came to when I first decided I wanted to commit to having dreads. Its been about 10 yrs now and even though some of the staff has changed, theyre still my go to spot. The owners cool, his staff is good and the service is great!

Ive been going to this place for as long as i can remember... I got my dreadlocks maintained there and went right into the next room when i decided that it was time to let them go a few years later. This is the only place in Pittsburgh that I would ever go to get my hair cut. The barbers/salon workers are great, and the prices are extremely agreeable. Look no further than this place!

Horrible experience!!! And a patchy fade!!! All I wanted was a fade on the sides and back of my head. Its all patchy and I could tell he wasnt doing it right and I doubt he is licensed. The fade was different lengths from the left side to the right side. He started trying to shape my beard when I never asked him to do that. He also shaped the sides and back WAY to short and you can see a tan line. He was on the phone texting DURING THE CUT!!!! Said only cash at the end and no recipe, in fact when I got back from the atm I had to walk to, he left to go text on his phone behind the shop!!! I just wish that for once I could go to a barber and them actually care about the quality of there work. Never again will I go there.

Dude that cut my hair was mad fast. I feel like I have to get another cut tomorrow because i still have hair on my face. Price was good but i got what I paid fo . And the chairs were horrible i had to sit on it like it was a barstool. With that being said spot has alot of potential

Only place worth your money in Pittsburgh PA. aka Steel City. Natural Choice out fades any other barbershop. Price is under $30 Bucks. But worth every penny.

My barber close by was gone for the week and I decided to venture out to this shop, but I wish I hadnt.While there, the barbers were playing on their phones while cutting our hair. Not only the poor serrvice, but the cut was so terrible I had to go to another place to get it recut.Overall, avoid this place at all costs unless you want to waste time and money on a terrible cut.

One of the worst experiences Ive had at a barber shop. The man I got was tall and a little bigger. The dude took 10 minutes for me and my friend, I told him take an inch off of my top and a fade on the sides. He gets done without touching my top and says is this good and I tell him no can you cut the top about an inch, he turns me around and cuts my side a little more turns me around and asks again, do you want anything else? I thought maybe he needed direction to where the top of my head was so I grabbed the hair on the top of my head and said, take an inch off of this part. Needless to say he still didnt touch the top of my hair. After we leave I notice that he only cut half of my beard on my neck so I had to go back and make him finish it. The man was incompetent, way too quick, and couldnt care less about the people hes working with. There are three guys there and honestly having the possibility of getting that guy isnt worth the risk when you go.

Dont go here, the barber doesnt know what hes doing. Buzzcut was asymmetrical and scissor work missed large portions of hair. Overall most uneven and poorly done hair cut Ive ever had

First time client, Kandi was my stylist. Came in for a wash, blow dry, trim, and 2 simple braids. The price was more than reasonable, even with tip. Kandi was on time, pleasant and professional. I have coarse very coily hair, so was anticipating a little roughness, but she took excellent care of my hair! Loved that her blowdry technique didnt have my scalp on fire! I was in and out in less than an hour. My experience so far with salons hasnt been great, but Kandi and Natural Choice has changed my mind for the better. Thank you, you have no idea!

Only one guy in there know how to cut hair well. The others will leave you nicked up, uneven, and dissatisfied. I guess you get what you pay for!
