I love living here! Im going into my 3rd year of living in my apartment and I couldnt be happier. The space is huge, the on-site amenities including the gym and laundry are super nice especially during the winter when leaving the building is not so appealing. The staff is always super helpful is a drain is clogged or theres a leak! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in the city!
I have to say I will miss Walnut Capitals excellent service. I had very few problems here--once, my sink was clogged. Another time I wanted another towel rack in the bathroom, etc. Someone was always here promptly and provided courteous and great service. The building is well taken-care of and everything is always clean and in good order. I am grateful to have had such a great experience here!
My daughter lived here for 5 months while in Grad school at nearby Chatham University. We appreciated them accommodating our need for a short term lease. Kellie in leasing was very helpful answering all or questions. No issues. Communication is good. Thank you Walnut Towers.
Walnut Capital has been a nightmare to deal with. I have gotten rude calls, lack of communication, constant interruptions of people invading my home when Im working from home, and endless rude visits from maintenance. I was clearly moving things to my car with my door wide open and a maintenance man came pounding on my doorway to tell me it cant stay in the hall, when it was there five minutes literally for me to move it to the dumpster. Furthermore, I parked my car to move groceries in, and the man on the property told me I could park there, but dont tell anyone, and ten minutes later, I have a sticker on my car telling me they were going to tow it --signed by the same guy that told me I could park there. I moved here to sign a short term lease, and within a week, I was asked to renew my lease...which makes ZERO sense. I thought it was a mistake and another month goes by and I get a BEYOND rude email from the office insisting theyve called me incessantly and reached out many time to confirm my move out and I have the right phone number on my profile and ZERO missed calls or emails. I responded IMMEDIATELY to confirm I was, in fact, leaving. To add to it, Im at work from home, and a man comes pounding on my door again just now, to tell me he needs to see the bathroom and kitchen to see what needs to be updated. Considering I just moved in, what on EARTH would need to be updated and what record of me moving in wouldnt show what the apartment was just re-done with? There is ZERO communication between departments here and I cannot emphasize the importance of consistency and being courteous to your renters. Do not recommend unless you are a wallflower with zero self respect or an affinity for business being done right.
Decent experience where the service requests are attended promptly and the office folks are agile to accommodate change requests (lease terms). Its right overlooking I-376 but I never felt much noise of vehicles. May be, I got used to it, but certainly it is not at all bothering. As my apartment is on one corner, the outer walls (exposed outside) cause heating and cooling a little non-uniform and time-taking. But on putting to the managements attention, they tried to resolve to their best extent.Parking is getting a bit challenging day by day (especially in Pittsburgh winters with too much snow to handle in my standards), unless you rent a reserved spot. To explain this more, there is a bit of walk from free parking spots to building main doors; with heavy grocery bags in hand in too wintry conditions things can be challenging. My apartment being on the near corner of the parking spots, I frequently get up/down the staircase (when I have no heavy bags to carry).Trash can be dumped through chutes and dumpsters get cleared on every weekday.Overall, I felt good.
Unfortunately, I have not had a good start to living at Walnut Towers. Management is incredibly rude, unorganized, and very unprofessional. I have been really shocked by how they have handled themselves as a business.Pros: The apartment itself is okay enough. It is big, was clean when I moved in, everything working (have needed one maintenance request after 6 weeks living here, but other than that no other issues). The view is nice and the location is really great. I love being within a walking distance from Murray and close to Shady side. I often go running/walking at night and feel really safe and there are many people out and about all the time. It is a nice little neighborhood here.Cons: As I mentioned, the management is very rude, unorganized and unprofessional. Unfortunately, ever since moving in it has been a rough go-around with management and they seem quite unorganized. The apt is located near a major hwy so although the view is very nice, when you open the windows and at night even with windows closed, you can hear traffic.
I lived at Walnut Towers for 2 years and couldnt have asked for a better experience. The management was excellent with easing the move-in/move-out process and quick to answer any questions or concerns I had. I would recommend this building and management company to anyone who is still renting!
I have lived here for over 3 years and cant wait to get out. 1. They will show you a gorgeous apt and then rent you a crappy one even if they promise to renovate the floors. 2. Its overrun by stinkbugs, spiders, dust, you name it. 3. Cleaning people have gone into numerous apts and stolen meds, and cash and management knows but shoves it under the carpet. 4. Repairs are bullshit, so I just do them myself and eat the cost. 5. Parking garage has been shut down to a mudslide for years and sometimes if you come in too late, you will have to park about a mile away and WALK. 6. Management is horrible and will steal your money.
Its a beatiful place.
Missclick, shouldnt count.
