The first visit was very good but when I tried to make an appointment on the 21st for 3:00pm the barber said they were booked through closing. I then made an appointment with him for the 22nd at 9:30am with any barber.I arrived at 9:16am and there was only one person waiting and just one barber. I notated my name on the sheet and my appointment time.When the barber was done with his previous customer he took the guy that was there ahead of me he disregarded my appointment time. I thought well I will swallow this unprofessional decision by the barber and wait. Unfortunately when he was done with the guy who took my spot he called a Lionel to come next when I was the next customer!!! Rather then make a scene and challenge a barber who probably can’t read, I left to write this review as I will never come back and go out of my way to NOT promote Gentleman’s Joe’s barber shop! I teach classes every week and with 20 to 30 people (more then half are men) I will definitely let them know NOT to ever go to an over rated and unprofessional barber establishment like gentlemen Joe’s!

Every time a come here I have Angel trim my hair. He is professional, skilled, and friendly. I highly recommend him and this barbershop.

Great place to get your haircut… They take appointments unless they get too busy. My guy is Israel… He’s the best in my opinion, Moses is good as well. Hours are kind of odd.Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday they are open 8:30 AM until 7 PM.Wednesday and Saturday they’re open 8:30 AM until 6 PM.They are closed Sunday.This place has everything that you want in a barbershop, full shave, straight razor … The full 9 yards.

Just got a haircut there, I asked for a fade and got a mohawk. No blending just straight lines. I waited a month to get my sides cut and now Ill have to shave my whole head to have it grow evenly.

They always give me a good haircut. The problem is its never what I want. Ill come in with five inches of hair on top and tell to only trim the top. Ive even been specific and said only a half inch off the top. It doesnt matter. They take four inches off every time. Ill go six or eight weeks between haircuts to let the top grow out. Then they butcher it. Out of 6 haircuts from 4 different barbers Ive had one good one. Ive tipped well every time because its hard times for everyone. But thats not a reflection of the quality of their work or my satisfaction with their service. I honestly dont know how theyre still in business. I gave them more than a fair chance. Ill never go there again and I will recommend against anyone else going.

I always come here to get my boys haircuts. We enjoy seeing any of the guys and they all do great. Today though, my oldest got Angel and I am so happy we did. Mom taking boys to get haircuts is always an interesting experience but also add in the fact your child wants a specific style which is not at all an option for his hair; We were bound for a not so fun time. Angel deescalated our mom and son typical banter, helped my kiddo find a haircut he was happy about and we left happy and looking fresh. Thank you for being so kind, patient and taking the time help this mama (and kid) out🙏🏼

Been getting my haircut for years here never a bad cut

Its not the first time they ruin a haircut,I took my little brother in yesterday after work and he got the first chair babrber.We showed him a picture of what he wanted and explained what he wanted. When he was done it was the worst haircut I have ever seen nothing like what we explained. Had to have the barber next to him to help and clean it up.The original barber just took off. Never going back.

Ive been looking around for the right barbershop. This place looks nice I thought, you sign in when you walk in, great.. No confusion as to whos next. Im the type of person that knows what they want and I have knowledge of a few barber terms. I show the guy 3 pictures of what I want, reference to go by and then I describe what I want. Fade.. no problem. He goes to cut the top and then asks me again about what I want. Do you want to leave the front the same? I say yeah just like that. There mustve been some other understanding because he cut it the same as the back and I ended up with all the same length on top. I wont be coming back and I still tipped well. Good luck.

1st time here, i got a great cut by a young guy for a reasonable price. 4-5 stars. Second time, the older barber didnt get the length, or fade right, and tried to cash me out without even asking me if I was content with his work (which I wasnt, and told him so). He also charged me $25! I got nothing extra done, and he charged me around $7 more! 1-2 stars. Will try them one more time, and update this review accordingly.Update: Gone a couple more times and gotten better(not amazing) haircuts. 3.5 stars

$23 for a cut. Was a nice little shop super close to home. The TVs at each chair was a nice addition and no senseless chatter. Loved it.

Their crew of professionally trained barbers handle hair with the professionalism and warm touch that brings to life that stereotype of making your Barber your confidant and cracking jokes while your hair gets cut. They are patient if youre not sure what you want and work with you to find what the right look for you really is.

Went here for years. It always seemed that they didn’t really care how you wanted your hair they just did it how they wanted. Last straw was when they shaved the front of my hair down in the front. Not sure why, but not going back anymore. Found a much better place in tukee.

I was able to arrive right when they opened and got sat in a chair with relatively no wait. The man who cut my hair was friendly and swift and my hair looked great!

It was the best hair cut experience Ive ever had. Went in there for the first time yesterday out of curiosity. The environment is great, plus they have personal televisions for you to watch while getting a trim. It was very relaxing and the haircut looks great. Definitely going back soon.

A bit more expensive than a great clips for a kids haircut, but well worth my boys not looking terrible. They always do a good job, kids get to watch cartoons, and a Tootsie Pop reward for sitting still.

I usually get my haircut at a different Gentleman Joe’s but decided to give this one a try. The first time I went I asked for a medium fade with a 1 and nothing cut off the top. The barber nods and brings out the clippers. As soon as he started I knew i’d be left with little to no hair on top along with my sides. In the end my sides weren’t even faded and I ended up looking like a thumb. Apparently I like terrible haircuts and decided to go a second time. Same thing, asked for a medium fade and ended up getting the Thumb Thumb from Spy Kids look. I told the barber how I had asked for a medium fade and very little off the top, and he turns, looks at me and says “Oh really?”. Yes really... Never coming back here again. Unless it’s bad hair day at work.

Good haircuts but trash service. No smiles given at all. On any visit. It’s like they hate you when you walk in. During my haircut they’d take breaks to talk and walk over to each other’s booths to look at something on the phone. Last straw, I show up at 855 on a Thursday and they open at 830....... no one is here. Feels like poorly managed place that just does whatever. Two stars is just cuz it’s a decent haircut. But everything else ruins it

Specifically told barber to give me a medium FADE starting with a 1 at the bottom. He cuts all sides of my head with a flat 1 😑 luckily for him hair grows back otherwise I may have caused a scene.WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GETTING A HAIRCUT HERE! Now Im forced to wear a hat for two weeks. I should have made them pay me.

I usually fly back to Seattle every month to see my barber since it is part of my sales territory but I really needed a haircut and had a business trip planned that would keep me away from my beloved Seattle barber so I thought what the hell, it is just hair. I walked in at almost closing and I met Isreal. It was the best haircut I had ever had in my life. The man spent an hour cutting my hair. He charged me $21.00 and I gave him two twenties. I found a barber forever...

AVOID!!!!!! terrible talent here, i had my hair completely messed up to the point my hard part ruined the top part of my hair. The barber didnt wet my hair before shaving the hard part and it resulted in him taking a noticeable chunk from the top part of the hair on my head. So now when i comb my hair there is a noticeable portion that is considerably shorter on the top.I got no apology and had to pay $30! this place is terrible!

Used to be good last year, this year the new people working there are bad, they cut every hair the same way it looks like a ktip, I ask them to cut my childs hair short on the bottom of head and spike and longer on the top, they just ignored my request and cut it so close to scalp that looks horrible. For this type of cut, I rather go to great clips which is 100 times better.

Israel cuts my hair every 3 weeks. I dont go anywhere else anymore because he is the best. This whole barber shop is solid though. These guys all know how to do a proper fade or taper. They do the neck shave and it is a real haircut. They can do your beard as well. Walk ins probably have a long wait. Im not sure because I call and get an appointment.

This place was very nice...clean... and friendly. We took our 8 month old there for his first haircut and the barber did a great job considering our baby moved a lot. The only slight problem that we encountered was the price difference between the website and the shop.

Admittedly the context of my evaluation is hamstrung as I have not been to a proper barber since I was a child and, so, have not frequented other establishments in the area, but Gentleman Joes does it how I remember it: Attentive, thorough experience that left me with the best hair cut ive had in years. I will be back.My only complaint: Im not a fan of televisions in your face at all times but I see why others would appreciate the televisions on site given the time they dedicate to each customer.Highly recommended.

Visiting from out of town. Normally go to shop in Avondale. My hair is hard to cut. Barber did a great job, listened to directions and came away with a 4 1/2 stars cut for $18.Will come back next time in the Tukee.

This is the greatest barber shop in the world. It is the only thing I miss about living in Arizona. Its clean and well run. One time I took a plane ride from Chicago to Phoenix just to get my haircut here. All of the barbers are great. I also like that they have tvs at each station and blow compressed air on you. They also do a strange massage thing that grows on you.

I drive 30 plus minutes just to go this Ahwatukee location. These guys know exactly how to cut my hair. I prefer a short cut and they treat ya great!!!

Good hair cuts but its annoying that every time I try to make an appointment they wont let me. I am forced to do a walk in and have more than 20 people come in after me that have appointments. I wait for more than an hour while everyone jumps over me. Are appointments reserved for friends only?? Great fades if you can deal with an extremely long wait.

This place is usually pretty busy but thats because they do a great job. A little pricey but worth it. You get what you pay for. Who wants to walk around with a $6.00 haircut?

Not all the Gentlemen here are familiar with current trends / hairstyles. I spent over 8 months growing out my hair for a specific hairstyle and this barber completely ruined my hair. Not only did the guy who exited the shop as I got there have the style I wanted, but the guy in the chair right next to me and directly behind me both have the exact style I asked for ..... and my hair was completely butchered!

Very unorganized. Called to make appointment and was told I couldnt. Only had 4 barbers on a Saturday afternoon and one of them had 3 kids running around like it was their house. I dont know what happened but this place used to be fast and relaxing. Get more employees so people dont have to wait 2 hours after driving 45 minutes to get here. Also allow people to make appointments like every other barber shop in Phx.

Been a while since i went to a barber shop, went in with my brother-in-law and to the guy like it short, but told him go with what he felt like was good. Ended with a great cut.

Worst place Ive ever been! As a climatologist visiting from Florida..... Sanitation was not used properly after observing and after being CUT after a DRY beard trim No sanitation or disinfection methods were used during or after the service. Not only disappointing but pissed as a customer and a professional. Gentleman Joes gives the profession a bad name!!!!

Needed a beard trim on my lunch break so i called ahead to find out what wait times would be. Was told there is no one here right now so there wont be a wait. I immediately head down there and am in the waiting area within 5 minutes. I get there and all the barbers are busy and there are people waiting. I wasted half of my 1 hour lunch break waiting before I had to leave so I could at least grab some food before going back to the office. I have no idea if they offer decent trimming services because their customer service was so lousy.Heres a tip, dont tell someone there wont be any wait when your location is packed. It shows how little you value their time.
