Quick story: I went out of town and giving my friend my spare keys to my place to feed my cat. When my friend called to tell me the keys dont work I called the emergency maintenance to get a key made for him. Michael saved me a huge panic state and resolved the issue within 10 minutes of my first message. For this Im truly grateful.Ive been living here about 3 years and I like it a lot here. The grounds are pretty, the community is very friendly, and the management is kind. The apartments themselves are renovated and are nice inside. The surrounding area is amazing and location is 10/10.

So far so good. Maintenance has been quick to help with any issues and the leasing staff was very helpful!Edit After 3 months of living here.1 Parking spot for a 2 bedroom is terrible. The gate to the parking area doesnt work allowing just about anyone to park in the limited free spots and some of these cars havent moved in weeks. (Im not even sure if they are residents.) The lighting of the parking area doesnt work 90% of the time so if you get home late you are walking around in the dark. There is plumbing work being done weekly that Greystar just adds to residents bills. There is a natural gas leak which residents also pay for. Sprinklers run constantly which residents also pay for. Pool is only open 50% of the time. If you plan to live here longer than a year expect them to bump your rent up. Half of the light switches in our unit dont go to any outlet. The only decent things about this complex are the friendly and helpful maintenance and office staff, the other residents, and the *currently* reasonable rent prices.

Was excited to live here but I am now wishing I had chosen someplace else to live. First, the model apartment they showed us and said we would be getting was a lie. We then had to upgrade to a renovated apartment which costed more and was not the price we were expecting to pay. The front office never answers their phone, the gate is always broken, and the parking situation is a mess. One spot for a two bedroom apartment is not enough. The only good things about this place is the location and size of the apartment. Even though it is renovated there are still things in it that are older like the toilets and showers. If you are looking to rent here, dont do it. You can find nicer places in the area for a better price for what you are getting.

I was making lunch in my lovely renovated kitchen when a scorpion fell out of my kitchen light and almost stung my dog. Apparently we pay for monthly pest control but someone isnt doing their job. I never see anyone spraying and if they are, its not doing its job. Was told last two renters moved because of roach and scorpion infestation, and we have seen both in the apartment on multiple occasions. Never move here.

Location is all this place has. They get you in the beginning but...The unit I received has had nothing but health violations. Maintenance staff does respond w/urgency. There are too many issues that should be fixed BEFORE a new residents moves in AS AGREED!1) Toilet not working for 7 days2) Nails from carpet sticking up and still (4months later coming out and yes, they hurt!)3) Gate not working and no FOB given upon move in4) Front door seems to not close properly, maintenance said its the frame and they wont fix it.5) Front window doesnt open, maintenance came unannounced and I was not able to stay as I had prior apt, they never came back...6) Closet doors are coming off ceiling rack, maintenance said until it falls off, they wont replace or fix....So have it falls on my pet or myself and hurts me, then they will deal with it ??7) Light switches are not connected, had to call outside maintenance to wire so I could have light8) Office does not proved 24hr notice for water shut offs9) Natural gas leak, pool not working most of the time10) We pay for Pest control...pls explain why then, there are pests EVERYWHERE?!11) Darkness in parking area and some cars never move - not sure if those ppl even live in this complex12) Laundry dryers are broken half the timePoor management overall. Will not sign lease again. Better apartments all around area w/more amenities for better price....too bad, such potential.*UPDATE: not much has changed or any resolution 5 months later*Oh and yes, I have called many times, and sent emails to no avail...

Buyer beware...long story short. I was thinking of renting here and paid some fees up front. Was assured if I decided not to rent here, only the fee for background check would be kept.I called next day to let office know I found a better fit, same person I dealt with the day before told me I should receive a check in 7-10 days for the refund of the admin fee.Now I’m told they will not be returning it to me.I guess I dodged a bullet....read the fine print before you hand over any money!!It shouldn’t be so difficult to do the right thing!!

This place is very run down. Don’t mistake the model unit for your unit it’s going to look nothing like that. Windows Are from the 70s never been replaced. For $1200 you can definitely find a very nice gated community in the Phoenix area for a cheaper.

I’ve called, texted, emailed, and left voicemails in attempt to contact anyone. How does a place of business go this long without answering their phones? I understand the circumstances of COVID, but it’s a little shocking. Sad to say because I was so excited about this complex in particular, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. It seems I may have dodged bullet.

Please DO NOT rent in this complex. Lived here for 26 years was a wonderful place to live until Avenue5 came in as Management. Place isnt what they say on their website. There is NO jacuzzi, the gate (supposed gated community) has been down for sometime, No hot water for one and one-half days this month, no washer/dryer in unit and charging rent that other complexes do with them. Have to pay for parking, pest control, sewer and trash removal. Pay common areas of facility which includes laundry room and pool (that has a leak) along with apartment water; therefore, paying for others use.Sad but we are moving out of here.11/19/18 Thank you for your response(s) to our complaints. We do feel that so much water has gone over the bridge that we must make a move. Avenue5 is just not the kind of company that truly wants long-term residents to remain. Hopefully, the person that actually owns this property will see that repairs and renovations are completed. Additionally, that the owner will be more hands-on in order to keep tenants.

This is a nice quiet place to live, so far I have not had any problems and have been quite pleased with the community. The Manager Payton is a true asset to the complex with her knowledge, diligence, and caring demeanor. Even when there is no vacancy available I have seen her give direction to other complexes that do, to potential tenets looking for a place to live. Its location is very handy in regards to the many eating and drinking choices that are walking distance. I do see why there are so many long time residents here

Do not move here if you are a household with 2 vehicles. Very limited overflow parking. I often wind up parking in the neighborhood behind the complex. Additionally, there is only one covered space allocated to each apartment (standard apartment stuff) but there are 9 more covered parking spaces then apartment units. I.e. 9 spaces that never get used, even if everybody is home. So the parking that is available is not being effectively utilized.Update (4 months later, from 3 stars to 2):The parking situation has gotten worse. In addition to the limited parking, some of the few uncovered spaces are now being taken up with dumpsters for the ongoing construction.I have also witnessed one resident having to go to the office and complain about construction crews parking in her spot on multiple occasions. In response to the Vicinitys response, simply labeling a handful of the excess covered spots as unreserved would make a huge impact. It cant be that hard to determine which spaces arent linked to a unit and then put a sticker up.

I Wouls not rent here. First of all the place is not as described in the Pictures. I live in an older apartment which looks like its from the 1980s brown ugly kitchen cabinets, rust in my toilets, blinds that are broken. They now have you pay for Sewer, water parking and pest control. They dont care about their tenants, only the money!!!!! I have complained about my neighbors dog over and over again and They DONT Do anything about it. I work from home and a habitual dog barking is going to make me loose my job. I have reported it to the office several time and they arent doing anything about it. There are roaches and scorpions and whenever I tell them about it, they send the exterminator, which comes and sprays, but that doesnt seem to do the job. I had to buy Home Defense and spray and that has helped with the control of roaches. But besides that, Noisy neighbors, barking dogs and Run down apartment, paying over $1,000 a month. I do have pictures of the rust stains in the toilet and broken patio. Also, have mold in my apartment that is affecting my health. DO NOT RENT HERE, once our lease is up we are moving far away from this place. I would save my money and Rent somewhere else. This place isnt worth it. They have a third party company that you have to pay the utilities with and the rent is over what this place is worth. Do NOT MOVE HERE! Seriously, I dont recommend it. When the other property manager Rebecca and Gabby was here, they worked with me and helped with my concerns.

The Mission Palms team held a Staying Alive Project SAFE Event on Thursday, July 20, 2017. A police woman provided those in attendance with new ideas to stay safe in our community and provided time for Q&A. The event had a disco theme including decorations and the team was dressed in their best disco regalia--pictures were taken, too! There was food and special drawings for gift cards for local vendors as well as some freebies for our dogs and cats. It was fun to get to meet other tenants in our community and learn some new ways for Staying Alive!

Going on our second year of living in this complex and we love it. The price is what moved us in and the employees are what made us stay. We started in a one bedroom and recently moved into the two bedroom and both have been clean and beautiful. Payton has helped us with every little bump in the road, and really is just a pleasure to talk to. When we need anything fixed or looked in our apartment at Mark is knocking on our the same day. We used the activity room for our daughters first birthday, and Mark came on his day off to open and close the room for us. The atmosphere mixed with the employees make this home, and we will be staying for the long haul!

Lived here for several years now. Great area with awesome restaurants within walking distance. Friendly, quiet neighbors. Management is friendly and responsive as well. Any maintenance requests Ive placed have always been addressed within 24 hours.I once had police come to my apartment for an unrelated event (my bike was stolen at work and I needed to file a report) and they mentioned that they had never been called to this complex before. There are only two complaints I have (if I can call them that): the hot tub has been empty now for more than 9 months with no resolution in sight and the parking lot is small that it fills quickly on nights and weekends (only one reserved space per unit). Thats literally the worst thing I can say about this place.Would gladly recommend Mission Palms to anyone!

I used to love the apartment when it was under the previous management. I have become increasingly dissapointed with this new one - avenue 5 residential. My appliances are old- possibly older than me (im only 24) and I am paying the cost of a Luxery Apartment. Infact that is what their website states your newest Luxery Apartment. These are old buildings painted over with a very dingy paint job, outside lights that are only for looks and little purpose (they dont light up the grounds very well at night, there are some dark areas.) Our protective parking gate isnt closing and it has remained open for about two weeks now. You can smell gas by one of the apartments. The jacoozy is an eyesore (it has never worked) and they threatened to charge residents for dog poop left infront of the apartments. Keep in mind, it could be left by those not living in the apartments or they could be strays. This new management is more focused on putting a band-aid on the aparment buildings. We are getting new railing however the supports for the stairs squeek and move quite a bit. I dont feel safe walking up and down them but I live on the third floor and I dont have a choice. I once had bees enter my aparment through the drain in the tub. That was a scary experience. Our neighbors had rats in the ceiling and that took several weeks to be taken care of. To top it off my key to use the laundromat isnt unlocking the door and I needed to wash today. I dont know if the door lock is broken or if they installed a different lock and didnt notify us. The point is we cant contact anyone to fix the issue. It sounds like a miniscule problem however these issues and other ones add up. The photos in the website look nothing like the acutal aparments. I cant wait to move out. This isnt a place I would call home anymore.

Lived here from 2017 to 2018. It was a wonderful place when I moved in, with welcoming and accommodating employees who knew me by name. But once they were bought by Avenue6 (or whatever they are called) everything went down hill. Constant loud construction, hidden fees and not enough employees or employees who were fully trained. When I moved out, I was told in regards to my apartment that “it’s so clean that it doesn’t even look like you lived here.” A month of silence after I move out and they slap me with a $200 cleaning fee, and that’s AFTER my $400 deposit was kept by them. When I asked for a number to call and appeal this decision, they stated that “corporate would just send you back to us and this is our professional opinion.” I hated this place once they were bought. It’s a shame.Oh and I knew someone in the complex who had roaches 👌

I will start off by saying the apartment complex is actually decent and located in a very convenient area, right off the 51 and close to many restaurants/bars/shops/etc. However, due to the management company Avenue5 LLC & handling of my issues, they earned 1 star. I will start by saying weve had roach issues since weve moved in (I have pictures of sewer roaches we saw within the 1st few weeks we lived there). The old mgmt company made sure the apartment got sprayed a few times & didnt help. Then Avenue 5 took over & they have fumigated 4x (very tedious process) & that didnt solve the issue. ALL weve been requesting for the last 2 months is to be transferred units at no cost or for them to release us from lease. I have contacted Avenue5 corporate offices in Phoenix AND Seattle... NONE of their regional managers have responded via calls nor email for 2 MONTHS now. They didnt even respond to the BBB when I filed a complaint. If u get lucky, youll move here & everything will work & have no problems. However if you have a serious issue like we have...be assured AVENUE5 doesnt take care of their clients. If you need further proof...GOOGLE search: Avenue5 LLC Seattle WA and see now many others have given the management terrible reviews for lack of communication on behalf of any manager. Not only that but their most recent Property Manager actually quit, Im willing to bet because her superiors/ management team wouldnt back her up & help her in finding resolutions for their clients. Unbelievable. Im writing this in hopes of avoiding people any grief. Complex is fine but overpriced now. Management is the WORST Ive ever seen. I cant wait to leave this complex.

Great location, lots of restaurants and stores near by. Next to the 51 Freeway. Renovations are being made but are poorly done. Of course that means rent is skyrocketing for no reason. Newer properties 1 month to 2 years old are $1,100-$1,500 a month down the street. This is just a 40 year old run down place and over $1,000 a month. Justified by the hip lingo and zip code. Its very quiet. Neighbors are friendly. Parking is a big issue, spaces are to small and if you have a second car parking is extremely limited. You have to park on the street. The laundry room is a huge problem. Tennants are rude and lazy it is hard to get a washer. Its in the basement of the office and there is water damge and mold everywhere. The gym is down there too and it is NOT modern or anything the website says. Thats right, no washer or dryer in unit and still over $1,000 a month, $45 or more per person for water too FYI. Staff are cold and stern, only friendly to prospective tennants. The pool area is awful, hot tub is broken, filled with filth, has been for years and on top of that they painted over the rusty fences. Neighbors complain of poor quality remodeled units, major plumbing and A/C issues and astronomical water bills. Best to avoid this place.
