I will start by saying, I loved living here. Just moved out yesterday, so many good memories, and good neighbors here. Melisa, Tina, and Manny are a power team! They will assist you with anything you may need- and more! Definitely a great place to live. Top notch service. Thanks guys!

My neighbor once again has been dumping toxic cleaning supplies from their second floor apartment. The neighbor has done this for years and yet never gets kicked out. The neighbor did it for so long that it permanently bleached the pavement. Even now when you walk past you can smell the chemical and yet no one has taken any actions.

Been here for over a year.Nice community. Havent had any issues. Maintnence can be slow but I understand there is only one person doing all the maintenance. The only thing Im not happy with is the laundry room.I hate the credit card readers on the machine. Id just rather go to a laundromat, its just easier.Kitchen is a bit small with not much storage or counter space. All in all I enjoy living here. Office staff is always friendly.

The ONLY good thing about this complex is the location. I have lived here almost 2 years, and have seen a change in management to this current one. They nickel and dime tenants and we are treated as children. $35 a month per pet. The dog run is a joke with fake grass. $5 a month just to park your car. Covered parking or not. Water is shut off on a regular basis, and if something happens like a leak or even something large like having to break out walls, residents are NEVER compensated. These owners care about taking as much from residents without providing anything but the facade of looking like a decent place. No doubt that under current management, this place is going nowhere but under. Save yourself the headaches, and stay away from this money pit.

UPDATE: The water continues to go in and out of service every week or so. Plus they won’t switch the heat over to A/C until 4/18 from what we have been told. So even though Phoenix is starting to hit 90, no one gets air conditioning. So happy that our lease is up in 2 months and would NOT recommend anyone moving here.I moved in just as they were being updated so we got an apartment that was fully renovated and no one else had lived there yet. Appliances were brand new, like pull the plastic off them kind of new which was nice. The apartments themselves are very nicely designed and the whole complex is very clean for the most part. The location is probably the best part about this place, as it is a great part of town. However, there are a lot of parts of it that make it hard to recommend for your money. The new staff in the front office are not as competent as the previous women was, and isnt very helpful to be honest. Maintenance requests take a while to get completed. I sent one in over a month ago and it still isnt completed. The gates are really loud, and since my unit is right next to the parking gate and one of the walking entrances I hear them all the time. The laundry facilities arent in unit, which would be fine except that they only take cash (which for a place that just got updated is lame) and there is usually a wait to use them. The most frustrating part of this place is the utilities, as they use an equation to breakdown utility cost since each unit isnt monitored. Ive lived in the area previously, in a larger apartment, and with more people and our water/trash/sewage bills are still far more expensive here. To give you some perspective, for 2 people we typically pay $80 a month for water, and our trash bill was just $40.

Im not one to write reviews but this one needs it! The newly renovated sign in the front is what attracted me... neat and clean, very modern interior. The layout is great. I really wish I could give these people 5 stars. Honestly they dont deserve one.... Ill start with the roaches, their watered down pesticide doesnt get rid of them!! Theyve been out here to spray atleast 3x since Ive been here and I find some alive very next day. Disgusting! Get some good stuff for your renters.... I was promised a washer and dryer in my unit to be installed 6 weeks after move in date and its now been about 15 weeks. All Ive gotten was the runarounds. Im not sure who is running the show but I feel that they lied to me just to get me into the unit right away. Being on the third floor and not having a washer/dryer would have been a deal breaker for me. We live in Phoenix... temps even at night are unbearable. And maintenance sucks!! Come in the apt and say they completed the job and did not do a damn thing. Another thing that is horrible is that were reaching mid 90s next week and this central cooling system that the building is on controls the entire apt complex.... I just found out AC wont be on until 4/9. That means its gonna be hot as hell in here. Oh and through the winter (thankfully it was mild) the heater never worked!! I hate renting here and would not recommend it to anyone! There are many others in the area people.... dont waste your money here.

Horrible experience! I have lived here about three months, there has not been one day that everything in the apartment has been fixed. It seems to me that I am expected to pay my rent and utilities on time (which I do) however it does not seem that ICON holds themselves to the same standards in regards to the condition of the property. In the three months since I have moved in I have had issues with many things in the apartment including plumbing, electricity, a faulty bathtub and recently the heat has been out for days. In some instances it takes a long time for maintenance requests to be addressed. Additionally the apartment complex does not appear to be energy efficient, I have a large gap under my door. Since we all pay for the electricity for the entire complex I have asked other residents if they also have gaps under their door. They have said yes. In reality we are all paying higher electric bills due to the complex not being energy efficient. The apartments have been refurbished and they do look good. However from my experience I feel that structurally the apartment complex is not in good shape and the work done on the apartments is not quality.

My rent was supposed to be around $850 but this what Ive been paying over $1000. Leasing office dont listen and maintenance team is very bad am sure Ill end up paying for what they didnt fix when I move out.

When I first visited this complex, and having viewed many located in the area I settled with the newness and liking of the completed apartment I ended up moving into. Since then, my discovery of quality of life quickly changed with frustration and aggravation. The shared laundry has been a mess, like the company that manages the machines and the financials with the cards use is beyond obsord. The maintenance knows little, and this unit was constructed without electrical oversight causing issues for nearly a month. The resolve for this was simply stated as to finding the short in the wall by removing the drywall to locate it, and rewire where needed. The other alternative was to replace the wires in all outlets which would be costly. My concern is about the other units around and below mine. The neighbors are quiet, but also annoyed with little getting done. The Insurance issue is an entirely different concern because it’s required to move in, YET YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY IT BY FORCE BECAUSE THE MANAGEMENT IS INCOMPETENT, and you will have to pay it double since not a soul will care to resolve it. So be prepared to spend the additional $12.00 monthly, and also when looking at them they quote an additional $100.00 for the shared utilities. Make that an additional $200.00. Overall my $960.00 1 bedroom costs just over $1200.00 a month. Overall, this just proved to me that you can look for the best, and truly experience the worst. Today in my mail I received another notice of non compliance with my insurance, and all the while my front door still has a gaping 1” gap yet to be addressed since moving in, my refund for the overpayments for the Insurance issue has not been addressed and is continuing, Avenue5 is pathetic, rude, disrespectful, condescending, and dishonest. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TRYING TO RESOLVE ANYTHING, I will just wait this lease out telling everyone to look elsewhere. Waste of money, time, care, which is more than any visual quality they think they’ve provided.

Been here for a year and I am super excited to leave that place. As the other review mentioned the rent is always different. I had a budget of keeping my rent around 700, what I ended up paying was between 800-1100. The shared utilities killed me in the summer. Trying to save energy didnt help I still had the same bill every month only a few dollars difference. Everyone that was there when I moved in had all moved out, so there are a lot of turn overs.

The Monarch treats their residents extremely poorly. We have been renting for a year and a half and only re-leased because we were moving out of state. Maintenance changes often, and though the recent guy does a good job, there are so many things that need work! There are roaches and other bugs and the Monarch has done NOTHING about it. The utilities are shared, and like other things, they wont tell you that until youve signed a lease. The recent property manager, who got demoted, told us bad information and the Monarch ripped us off of $400! NEVER RENT HERE. It looks nice, and they can talk the talk, but until you live here you will never understand how terrible it is. The location is the ONLY good thing about this place. It is not worth it.

I have lived here for almost four years....it had some issues with the past owners when it was called The Monarch Apts....The new owners have invested over 3 million into the property and it shows...its is the Melrose District and close to the light rail and Camelback Corridor and Central Corridor...The new owners put the D into detail....art on the outdoor walls and grounds, 4 outdoor games. (Pool, Ping-Pong, Corn Hole and Bocci) along with a remodeled doped out clubhouse and office where 3 more games are and 3 large tvs..to watch sports or whatever and plenty of seating...the pool is beautiful and has all new Resort-style furnishings and is clean and kept up daily...the grounds and new plants and trees, etc, are making shade for all of us here....The Manager Nicole is kind, efficient and empathetic and the Maintenance requests are usually done the same day....IF YOU READ ANY NEGATIVE POSTS ARE FOR THE PREVIOUS OWNERS OF THE APTS CALLED MONARCH AND ARENT VALID ANYMORE....Come check it out....luxury at an affordable price!!! I LOVE IT HERE...neighbors are kind and generous and we are all a pretty tight community located in the Melrose District...Come by and see Nicole to get a renovated apt quick before they are gone...peace

I somewhat liked the apartments not for the actual apartment but the people that lived there pretty much the only thing. The price was ridiculous, way to expensive for what u get. utilities are always high everyone is always talking how unhappy there rent bill is. people stop caring on saving energy or water because they get the feeling of why try to save if no one else will (complex shares utilities), the mindset causes everyone to have a high utility bill. your getting a fee for a lot of different things for example just to put a letter on your door from office your getting a fee for that and your not warned of these little fees either. being there for 1 year and 6 months ive noticed 2 managers come and leave and heard of another 1 left just before i moved in. i dont recommend unless u make a large amount of money...even if you did you can find something better. manangement does not communicate with each other....the place is a hot mess. people are moving a lot, thats a big red sign that you dont want to find out why. on a good note your neighbors are friendly if they actually stay
