Positives: great light from the large windows, full laminate flooring, high ceilings, secure garage parking, different from most other local apartments.Negatives: budget appliances, outdated/lack of modern amenities, lots of young people who don’t care about any of their neighbors, meaning noise, trash, dogs barking and peeing in the building, lots of trash everywhere due to valet trash. Building starting to show wear and tear.Management is nice and listens, but ineffective and almost never follows up.In a general sense: most apartments at this price point will have the same issues in Phoenix.
Ive lived at Domus going on 6 years. I started in a 1 bedroom then studio then 1 bedroom and now 2 bedroom. Ive looked at other apartments but have always come back to Domus.Following Covid, Domus has reopened and rededicated themselves to tenant appreciation activities; weve had 2 within the last 2 months this summer, and the 3rd party party planners (PWYN) always does a nice job.Domus has gone up and down over the years as far as improvements to the amenity offerings with no significant net improvements (nor losses) in the 6 years Ive been here. But one thing has remained: extremely friendly, helpful, empathetic staff who go beyond to keep residents as happy as possible.Certain decisions are of course made at corporate very remote from the community but here at Domus I do feel like we have community and resident advocates in our staff. Particularly, Corey the current manager of Domus is wonderful. He has his hands full managing our community Im sure but always makes time for face to face 1 on 1 meetings, like when my lease came up for renewal. He worked with me to keep me at Domus and to find an apartment that could fit my evolving needs. Also, Mark in maintenance has been here for the entire time of my living at Domus. Hes extremely responsive, professional, and hes trained his junior staff to be the same way.Again, Ive lived here for 5+ years now and I keep coming back to Domus. Did a thorough apartment search within a 3 mile radius of Domus this summer and checked out some new places like Biltmore Pearl. For overall value, Domus wins out. It also happens to be in a really great 5 block radius, with a decent amount to access (Kachina park, CVS, LGO, Postinos, Ingos) while walking on safe wide streets with sidewalks and bike lanes.
I have lived at Domus for just about three years now and I absolutely love it and dont see myself going anywhere for awhile. First and foremost the staff that keeps this place going are the most incredible people, professionally and personally. Carmen, Mark, Alex, Neal, Amina, and Nicole, THANK YOU for making Domus such an incredible place to live. I truly believe that you all do not get enough credit, I so appreciate what you do to make this place home. There are lots of comments about noise, but to be honest this isnt anything different from any other apartment complex I have lived in. You are literally sharing walls with multiple people so you are bound to hear things. The two things that initially got me to rent here were the floor to ceiling windows and the location! The location of Domus is actually perfect. So many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and the bonus is that I feel so safe in this neighborhood.
Save yourself the headache and find a better rental building! Dont be deceived by the exterior, the building is poorly made and you will hear every noise from every neighbor who surrounds you. The management office will gaslight you and say that apartment living isnt for everyone, but we have lived in apartments for over 12 years and never experienced anything like this. The building looks great from the outside, but the apartments are very cheaply made. Dealing with the management office is a horrendous experience every time- they are completely unprofessional and truly do not understand common concerns that come up. Please read these reviews and find a quality rental building somewhere else!
Too often are people quick to make others a process of a transaction. My kids and I have lived here for going on a year and I love my community, neighbors and leasing staff like family. It’s a phenomenal location next to two incredible coffee shops half a mile away. The pool is massive, the grounds are kept super clean by the sweet operators. The vending machine spits out gold change. My ONLY hang up is a little updated on the decor, but I’m very opinionated about that since it’s my profession, however for the price, it can’t be beat. I have stunning views and I’ve lived in a couple units and plan to transition to another one and stay for a bit. If you are looking for a flashy space, don’t come here, it’s an industrial modest place, with a relaxed environment.
Toured with Nicole last week and really loved the floor to ceiling windows and amenities. The property looked really nice and management was welcoming. I drove back through at night and the property was very quiet, cameras everywhere I felt safe. Def will be applying! The property is not your average cookie cutter property that we see everywhere now. Domus has more of an industrial feel in a super nice area.
Office hours aren’t accurate/they just don’t answer the phone. I ended up submitting an info request through the website for two separate floor plans. From there I was spammed with automated emails. 9 separate emails over two hours before I eventually blocked the sender
Its kind of a weird time to be moving, but all things considered the leasing staff have done an amazing job making the process as easy as possible. Amina has been so fantastic to deal with and has put up with my millions of questions. Although they arent doing actual tours, they have virtual ones and have sent pictures of actual units as well. Cory has been pleasant and helpful on the phone. The unit is very clean and so far I have zero complaints. I love this complex so far and have already taken advantage of all the great coffee spots nearby!
Very deceiving, they refuse to give deposits back. Stay away!
The beefy exterior I Beam construction leads you to believe that they spared no details but the soundproofing between the units was overlooked. If you love listening to raging parties or your neighbors conversations then this is your dream home.
It’s not just the amazing views, amenities and cleanliness; but the Domus staff that make this apartment one of the best. From the moment I walked in Lena and Nicole were there to help. They walked me through the application process and stayed in touch from the day I applied to when I moved in. They even sent in a move in check list the week before! On the day of the move the maintenance supervisor, Mark, help guide me through move in and even blocked off a section so I could park my truck and be close to the elevator. This place truly has everything you could hope for.
When I first toured the property. Anissa showed me around. She was so nice and made me feel right at home. I knew this is where I wanted to stay. Nicole and Brent were so helpful. I kept debating on what I wanted to do. Did I want a studio? Did I want a one bedroom? After further thought process, I came to talk to Nicole, she was so helpful and made the transition to a studio to a one bedroom, smoother than gelato on a hot summer day. Thank you Anissa, Nicole, and Brent for your hospitality. It did not go unnoticed.
Got my car broken into using their guest parking while visiting a friend. Passenger door glass busted in. $1200 for a studio but no security or even security cameras surrounding the building (just the leasing office door)....Update: I went to the leasing office to ask about the camera in the guest parking (like leasing manager said in my comments for this review) and as I already knew, they dont have a camera covering the guest parking (backside of the building). If you live here, pay for the garage parking and hopefully you dont have any friends that want to park in the guest parking. But shout out to the Domus maintenance team; they cleaned up the glass very fast!
I lived at the Domus for nearly three years and have nothing but good things to say about the place. Great location, great amenities (pool and gym are top notch) and great neighbors. Never once had issues with sound, and I lived on the first and second floors of each side of the property. All in all, if you are looking for a nicer apartment in the Arcadia area Domus is the spot.
Its cute on the outside, but dont be fooled by its paper thin walls... you can literally hear what the neighbors are watching on TV. Cat sat for my friend once and could hear everything from her neighbors. Turns out that every time shes gone to management to get any kind of help from them to get them to quiet down, shes been told thats just how it is and talked to in a condescending way. Thought I would want to move in here but decided strongly against that after hearing that the noise complaints were not dealt with.
Seems like it is a good place to live. I did not get to see the apartment as they did not have the amenities that I was looking for. The office agent that I spoke with was friendly with a great tone and answered all of my questions.
So after living at Domus for approximately 8 months here’s our final review. Pros: our views were great from our apartment balcony. Granted we were facing the pool, but seeing the trees and mountains were a plus. The location was perfect, next to a lot of good food places and central of everything. The apartment has an industrial/modern look which is what we first fell in love with! Another great thing about Domus was the staff specially Lena and Nicole. They were very fast and attentive to our needs/concerns. As far as cons: there’s frequent car break ins as we were a victim the first night we moved in. So every time we have guests come, I’m hesitant to let them park in the back over night. Our main concern was one of the common trends in the reviews, the structure of the building and it’s thin walls. We didn’t think that it would be that bad but it’s one of the biggest reasons why we left and cancelled our lease early. Here’s some examples of what we went through. Our alarm goes off in the morning and our neighbor will bump that side of the wall. Our neighbor on the other side will bump when we’re watching a movie around 8pm. If I’m wearing heels, the person below us will bump the top of his ceiling. (We lived on the 3rd floor) It’s truly hard to live in a place and walk on eggshells Bc you’re afraid you’re being too loud. We knew our limits were reached when our neighbor had a leasing agent come to our door around 4pm and asked us to be respectful to turn down our music as we were cleaning. To top it off, the day we were moving, we hired movers and the person below us approached the movers and asked him to be more quiet since he was working from home. The mover responded “Im over 200 pounds trying to do my job, as you are. I can’t tip toe around.” The guy below us threatens to go to management and the police department. So to end my experience/review here is either the people that live here are super entitled, or again, the building is poorly built. Can’t stress enough on how important it is to read peoples reviews.
This place was nice when I moved in January 2019, but has been steadily getting worse since then. There were a series of thefts including multiple car break ins, and many bicycles that were taken from the bike storage area. Not worth the $ at this point. Were leaving soon.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Have you ever been to the circus? Well do you really love that experience? Then you are in LUCK! This is the place for you! At home youll be able to experience the same loud, bustling action trying to watch your own shows and hear your own music and thoughts over the random person in your room. Oh Im sorry, I meant the NEIGHBOR. Just as a circus group youll be forced alongside loud clowns for months on end with no resolve, only, youre paying for it!
Not sure what all of these reviews below are about. With apartment living, you should expect to hear your neighbors from time to time. Ive lived in plenty of nice properties and could hear others around here and there; everyone is in a close vicinity. That being said, the day my fiancé and I toured DOMUS, we absolutely fell in love! Nicole was AMAZING and was so knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions, was conversational, and made us feel very comfortable. She even guided us through the application process and stayed in touch until we moved in. The staff here is great and one of the reasons we chose to live here. They are all caring, compassionate, and relatable. The price point makes it worth it when you look at the beautiful architecture, astonishing amenities, and the killer views. We are so excited to enjoy the rest of our time here at DOMUS.
This is the worst place you could ever move in to. The staff lies to your face and won’t admit when they have. This place is literally hell on earth. Do not believe anything these liers say toYou. You will get charged faked charges and have people randomly entering your house outside of your lease. They actually hung up on me cause I’ve complained. This is the worst I’ve ever been treated and I will sue them
My name is Dustin and I am a pretty huge fan of this community. The location is stellar and the building architecture is unlike anything else. The team here does a great job managing the community and takes pride in its presentation. Jovan and Lino are very professional and always a pleasure. The community manager Shanna is new to Domus but definitely not new to being a manger and is very bright and great to work with. I plan to stay at Domus for a few years!
Lived here for 2 years and loved it. My only complaint the whole time was that people would crack the doors in the back and so anybody could get in. However, they fixed it about a year ago and it wasnt an issue anymore. Friendly staff and good amenities. Parking was never an issue because you can park on the street and behind the building. Lived on the 4th floor so I didnt have to deal with anybody above me. I did hear my neighbors beside me often, but if you dont want to hear your neighbors then dont live in an apartment building. You cant beat the location of this place. Not a good place if you are very sensitive to sound. I would recommend to anyone else.
I Love it so much that I wish I could move into apartment like those
A very secure housing complex with lots of amenities and at a good location
I thought this was an upscale place with professionals. It is just an overpriced dorm room built with the cheapest materials. The builder cut corners everywhere. In my bathroom there was something wrong with the cabinets so they covered it up with dark tape. Management here is only interested in collecting the rent; if you have a problem telling it to your front door is just as effective as telling the management. Things break in the common areas and stay broken for weeks. Save yourself the money and headache, it isnt worth it here.
What an awful apartment complex. I’ve had ongoing issues with my neighbor’s noise that continue to go unresolved. It is so loud that I am unable to hear my own TV and has woken me up multiple times (which the leasing agent told me was “normal”). After sending emails, calling security, and knocking on their door, I had heard absolutely nothing back from management. Only until after I walked down to the office and asked the leasing agent (Lena) to come listen to them. I was then told that they are allowed to live their lives and I should basically just make more noise myself. Not only that, but after the leasing agent left, she immediately called and left me a condescending voicemail (I wish I could attach that to this review) basically saying that she’s heard worse and I should be less sensitive. What an expensive disappointment of a community! I don’t recommend living here if you value your sanity.
This is a beautiful luxurious property with underground garage parking!
Place is made of paper thin wall, floors, & ceilings. Its atrocious how cheaply made this structure is. They somehow got about 50 previous 1* comments deleted from Google, not sure how. DO NOT LIVE HERE NOT MATTER WHAT.
Make sure no one lives above you or next to you in this complex.....location is great
Quiet and convenient
