I have been seeing Jenni for 2 years (to this very day, actually!) and feel so lucky to have found her. During all of my visits, my head (and soul!) feel so cared for. I am beyond thrilled with how Jenni styles my hair, love the products they carry that are available for both in-store and online purchase, and appreciate their dedication to being sustainable. (I also received the best manicure of my LIFE from Taylor.) EVERYONE and everything in this establishment is thoughtful - from the services provided by the immensely talented and gifted individuals, to the environment that so strongly embodies inclusivity, diversity, safety, and genuine kindness. I highly recommend this salon to everyone I meet, because they are perfectionists in their craft, and simply amazing human beings. In conclusion... run, do NOT walk, to schedule an appointment. :-)

I have a fabulous experience every time I come here. Everyone who works here does a great job. Cally cut my hair yesterday and it turned out absolutely wonderful. I have also had great experiences with every person who has done my nails. I try to come here whenever I can, its also a lovely local business with a focus on sustainability. I would absolutely recommend this location to everyone.

Honestly I can’t say enough good things about P&F. I’m a client of Fursty’s and she works nail magic. I came in with paper thin unhealthy nails and dreams of long claws and it didn’t take long for us to get there! You may have seen on IG that the nail art at P&F is incredible (which is true) but that’s only half of the story. The other half is that they take the health of your nails extremely seriously. They are never judgey and always encouraging. I haven’t been in since the Pandemmie hit (because I work with the public and don’t want to expose them)—but my nails are healthier than they’ve ever been in my life. Even though I haven’t gotten a mani from them in 8 or so months, the foundation of nail health that they gave me (not only from treating my nails well at the salon, but also giving me amazing advice for nail and cuticle health at home) means that I’m able to have strong and healthy bare nails. I’ve been following their social during the pandemic and I’m so impressed by all of the precautions they are taking to keep people safe. I seriously cannot recommend them enough. I can’t wait to see the whole crew again when I feel that I’m no longer a transmission risk. Pictured: the glitzy holiday mani I got last year (looking beautiful in the fluorescent BSL station)

I have been going to P&F for about two years now and have completely fallen in love with this business and all of the staff. Between the hair/nail education, individualized attention, ultra clean/safe environment and the sense of community, my appointments have become the highlight of my week! I highly recommend Prep and Foxx for all of your nail and hair dreams.

The folks at Prep & Foxx genuinely care about their clients. I’ve been getting my hair cut with Jenni for over 4 years and besides getting a bomb hair cut, I have always enjoyed the experience and atmosphere that they cultivate. They have turned their business into a community and it’s lovely. Check out their IG, it’s clear these ladies know what they’re doing and do it well.

I started going to Prep & Foxx a little over a year ago and I cannot say enough great things about this place! Ive always struggled with my hair health and never had that relaxing/uplifting experience at a salon until I met Jenni! I learned so much about my individual hair needs and type during my consult before scheduling my appointment. I got the cezanne treatment and fell in LOVE. It made me feel so confident and I couldnt believe my little hair transformation after a cut and treatment. Shes literally the best.Everyone is always so kind and accommodating, from reception to nail techs to hair stylists. Ive now been going to Cally for my appointments and am so grateful for her upbeat attitude and skill. If youre looking for a salon to leave you feeling brand new, check them out. Their Instagram is a great way to connect with their stylists!I did schedule an appointment a few months ago and it was my first time during COVID. They have been taking the pandemic serious, and putting safety first. I respect them for keeping their staff and client health a priority, and hope they continue to get the support they deserve.I cant wait to see them again and will be a forever customer!

I have fine, limp, greasy but also dry, not growing, split end having, half straight half wavy no good very bad hair. But since going to Prep & Foxx,my hair looks good, my split ends are almost gone, and I have some products that work really well.... thank you Jenni! The salon itself is really cute, always clean and comfortable, and is far down enough on Broad that I can usually find easy parking.

I went to see Fursty for my first manicure appointment at Prep & Foxx and right from the start I felt safe. It is hard for a business to adapt to current safety protocols, but Prep & Foxx already had great cleaning practices in place. Fursty was super personable, made me feel comfortable and I loved her creative spark! Throughout the appointment she also explained what she was doing, the tools she was using and how they will benefit my nail health. Everyone at the salon was welcoming, there was good chatter and excellent music. I was super impressed and happy to book my next appointments for the next few months. Support this women-owned small business, you wont regret it!

I’ve been looking forward to getting my nails done here for over a month. I finally scheduled an appointment as a birthday gift to myself. I first emailed the nail artist telling her exactly what I wanted- including gel extensions. I then filled out an appointment inquiry stating that I wanted gel extensions. I then got a call from the front desk to actually schedule the appointment... and you guessed it... I told her I wanted gel extensions. So why do I finally get there and am told that I was NOT scheduled for gel extensions and that my request would not be met because another client was scheduled after me!??? I was more than dumb founded at the lack of competency and I think it’s down right unprofessional. The next appointment should have been pushed because this was the salon’s issue- not mine. I moved my entire day around for this appointment and can not believe what happened. It’s sad because first impressions are everything and I will literally never come back, whereas I could’ve potentially been a frequent customer. If you book make sure you reiterate what you want MORE THAN the THREE times I did, so this does not happen to you!!!

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY GIRL JENNI. Ive been on a journey on and off for about a year now to wax and dye my eyebrows, and as a very light skin ginger, my eyebrows are nearly invisible. Before we got to it, she had me come in for a consult and she educated me for a half hour about the chemistry of dying, how it reacts to certain natural hair colors, why it takes and sometimes doesnt. I was blown away. Long story short, Ive been getting my eyebrows dyed and waxed consistently for 4 months now and I will never go back to that life of being invisible.

This was the best nail experience I have ever had. I spoke with Jenny and she was incredibly kind and helpful with the booking. Nia did my nails and she said the first appointment for a new client is like a first date. Totally agree! I got a gel manicure with 4 nails with designs and Nia killed it! So excited to rock my manicure in Italy next week. Everyone else at the salon was also friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. As an environmentalist I appreciate the small sustainability fee they charge ($3) to properly dispose of the products used on my nails. I am excited to come back next month. Thank you all so much!

My wife and I have been coming to Prep and Foxx for over a year. Our stylist, Jenny, is an expert stylist with our cuts and, with my wife, her coloring needs. She is incredibly welcoming and dedicated to her craft. We have been to many salons and stylists throughout the years and we can state without reservation that we enjoy Jenny and her salon more than any other we have experienced.

Prep & Foxx is my favorite local business! Ive been a client for over three years (I found them after moving here from NYC) and they are the thing I was so proud to have discovered on my own that made me finally feel like Philly was my new home. I get so many compliments on my always awesome nail designs that I am frequently enthusiastically referring strangers at restaurants, bars, the grocery store, to Prep & Foxx. I go there for manicures, pedicures (from Taylor & Alex) and gorgeous haircuts (from Jenni). I brought the ladies I love most in the world there the morning of my wedding for manicures and all of the hairstyling for my bridal party. Its a comfortable, beautiful, impeccably clean and organized salon. They truly care about educating their clients and empowering them to take the best possible care of themselves! I look forward to every visit.

I absolutely love coming to Prep and Foxx. I’ve been coming for a few months seeing both Fursty and Taylor for Gel Manicures. Not only are their services amazing, they are well worth the cost. Both of these women are incredibly knowledgeable and have taught me so much about nail care. My nails have never been so healthy, cute and long!!!I’m looking forward to getting a haircut in the next few weeks!

For the first 8 months I lived in Philly, my friend and colleague was telling me how I HAD to check out Prep & Foxx. I always admired her manicures but I didnt see myself as a nail person. (Embarrassing to admit, I had a nasty habit of biting my nails and picking at my cuticles despite being in my late 30s.) Once I finally made an appointment and got a manicure, I have become a total convert and feel like an evangelist when talking about the services provided by Prep & Foxx to others. I have seen the error in my nail-biting ways after receiving professional services and educational advice on how to care for my nails. The staff at Prep & Foxx are friendly, knowledgeable, and talented! I now go religiously for manicures and pedicures, as well as haircuts there. I cant get enough of this place.

I went to this salon for three years. I would get my nails done every two weeks, my hair every 6-8 weeks, and I bought my hair products there. That is a lot of money to spend. I referred countless clients. I found it unusual that their staff turnover was so high and I had heard some whisperings about being treated poorly, but I liked the services I received. I can’t even imagine the amount of money I have spent at this place. And I feel like such a fool for doing so.I ignored the fact that, yes they could be rude. They would make fun of my adhd, one of the nail associates always called me “Jen” though she knew that wasn’t my name. That associate would also be particularly short & rude with me, but I figured she was stressed as service work is hard. I’d always be sure to tip well. I was pushed to switch to the more expensive gel manicure from the basic and I was satisfied. I was happy to take their recommendations because I trusted them. They also would change the prices & package information with no warning. Just suddenly oh this costs more now. When the stylist who did my hair was fired, I wasn’t given the choice of who I would see next. Instead I got a call confirming my appointment with a different stylist & I was like wait that’s not who I see. The front desk person (who also has since disappeared from her post like the three before her) told me they had called to let me know & left a voicemail... of course there was none. But I obliged, I didn’t push the issue & after a couple disappointing colors & cuts with the new stylist, she got to know my hair & style & I was happy.I got sick last month (the end of May) & though I got over that illness fully, when I went for my service the next week, I still told them that I had been ill. They made me leave the salon, in front of customers, without offering me a new appointment. I didn’t fight or protest. I was humiliated and confused. Clients were staring at me.I saw a dr immediately after and asked that I be checked as surely I should be better by now & it was confirmed that I was. The doctor said there was absolutely no way I was a risk to anyone. I called and asked for a new appointment and they told me they would call me back. Two days later I received a call saying they had had a meeting about me and that they would feel safest seeing me at the end of the night after all clients had left the salon. Confused, hurt, & humiliated further, I asked how they could think I would just walk around sick without properly tending to it? They said I probably don’t know how to clean my house to prevent this illness. I said that because I respect them, I would be ok with this, but that I hoped I wouldn’t receive this treatment going forward. They assured me they would not. Then I found out that they had been telling people to watch out as I had been sick. I’ve been told this is a HIPPA violation, I’m a social worker who is familiar with this type of thing, but I really don’t know. Either way, its phenomenally unprofessional. Then I received an email telling me, “However, events have come to light, indicating that we no longer meet your needs. After much consideration, for all parties included, we have decided to cancel all your future appointments. Please consider this a formal notice of our business relationship ending as of today, 6/16/18.”I was totally blindsided. I had been a kind, patient, loyal client who spent A LOT of money and referred A LOT of people. And then of course, as I began to look for a new salon, I started to hear more and more people who have had similar experiences. They’ve had very rude service, they were also blindsided by pricing & staff changes. So many people have experienced this treatment. So, if I could give less than one star, I assure you I would give none. Do not patronize this salon. You can find better for far less money.

I have been loyally frequenting the Prep & Foxx gals since July. Initially, I was drawn in by the IG photos of knockout manicures. What keeps me hooked, though, is the staff. They have a small but mighty crew who are dedicated to making you feel as brilliant on the outside as you do on the inside. No one takes themselves too seriously here which means you are definitely cool enough to be a P&F client. Their no walk-in policy guarantees that you arent rushed through your service and you wont be subjected to a cacophony hair dryers. Amanda handles the front of house details; scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and keeping the gears turning with cheerful, adroit aplomb. She has been exceedingly kind and professional since my very first phone call. Taylors approach to nail care makes hygiene the number 1 priority - no cuticle cutting or outdated polishes. She has passed on her encyclopedic knowledge to Fursty - the newest P&F nail tech whose designs blow me away. My nails have flourished under their care. Jenni and Jamie are dedicated to healthy hair care and are downright zealous in their teaching about how to treat your tresses right. Pricing is comparable to other salons in the city. They offer membership pricing for manicures by allowing you to pre-purchase a package of services ahead of time at a discounted rate. They also offer a reward discount for purchasing products with them (ie: when you spend x you get x% of your next purchase). They accept credit cards. Tips are cash only (duh people - and tip on the full price of the service, never the discounted rate). Some services, like hair services greater than 2 hours, require a deposit. Their website explicity explains all policies.
