Best pedicure in the city! Usually always have appointments available day of, the staff is very professional and super nice !
I would like to start off by saying this is my experience and you may not have experience this or will. I schedule a required appointment over the phone and stated what I wanted a gel manicure and an overlay for a broken nail. As this was my second time coming back there since I felt the first time around was prestigious service on my natural nails. I even told everyone too! (🤦🏻♀️) it’s hard to find a good nail tech in this city.Upon coming into my schedule appointment. I check in and was told to wait. I knew something was off when the owner and nail techs were clueless about this appointment. I was ask twice while waiting about what I am getting done the whole time was there. It was not until they finally came over upon me waiting for 20 minutes the owner and the person who scheduled my appointment came over just to say that they were sorry they can’t do my nails it will take long just for a regular gel manicure and a repair of one nail because they misunderstood me over the phone. I felt so uncomfortable when they came to me like I did something wrong and the customers were looking like it was a major issue and it wasn’t. Then they said well can you come tomorrow I said no as my natural nails were in need of care. And she had the audacity to say to me “well the previous nail tech Maggie said you was nice so we can schedule you for another time”. So I just said to them no thank you I will go somewhere else. Very unprofessional and condescending establishment and I feel they only cater to non black customers.
I love this salon! The salon is clean and the staff is professional and friendly. Julie is my go-to technician and always provides me with a great manicure and pedicure.
Very rough, slightly painful manicure. The technician kept using her sharp nails to scrape around my nails, and it left my cuticles and fingers red and raw. Also poorly shaped nails and untidy polish job. Maybe a different technician could be better.
I must say that this place never disappoints! I came for a gel manicure and Nora was so meticulous with shaping my nails perfectly and applying the polish. When you enter, they check your temperature and have you Purell your hands, and there are plastic barriers to separate you from the manicurist and from others for extra safety. The salon is very clean and everyone is very friendly. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a nail place.
Ive been to several nail salons in center city Philadelphia. Hands down this is the best one. Im sure everyone has their favorites, this is mine
Came in as a walk in with two other friends, got a pedi & mani, color change, foot & hand and neck massage all for $49. Complimentary beverages were offered, wine, water and champagne. Overall my experience was great, staff was nice and attentive. Establishment was well kept. Oh on sundays they close a 6pm, through out the week they are open fairly late at least til 8pm.
Although the pedicurist did a fine job with my nails, she used a buff on the rest of my leg in an attempt to get some fuzz that was stuck to my legs because I came after a leg waxing appointment. You can see from the photos that it was pretty brutal and I don’t have particularly sensitive skin. I also didn’t have a ton of cash on me for the tip (and they only accept cash tips) and was kind of shamed for it. Since the rest of my actual pedicure was fine, I’m giving it 3 stars but I definitely won’t be back.
Been coming here for 2+ years. I’ve been able to stretch out gel manicures 5+ weeks without chips almost every time. Gel manicure is $30, with a 5% discount for cash. As others have mentioned, there’s an atm in-store. Would advise making an appointment, although sometimes I need to call more than once to get someone. I’ve had a few times where I still had a ~15 min wait with an appt, but most times I’m out in under an hour. Service is generally polite. Appt includes a short shoulder massage and in non-covid times a drink (tea/coffee/champagne). They’ve done a reasonable job with covid precautions- temp checks & hand sanitizer at the door, plexiglass between stations, and keeping phone #s for contact tracing.
Great service for a manicure but if you’re looking for massage definitely ask for Lola I’ve had massages in a lot of places but Lola was exceptional. she knew every single knot and she worked on it perfectly I would definitely become a regular.
Best pedicure ever! Wonderful massage with hot stone and a shoulder/back massage while my toenails were drying. Love this place!
Excellent pedicures in a very clean salon. Foot and leg massage was wonderful!! They offered champagne, juice or water as complimentary. I had a mishap with drying and my pedicurist fixed it for me right away. Service was top notch!
Taking away one star because the customer service and treatment leaves a lot to be desired. I had a no chip manicure and the machine shut down while my manicurist was away so I tried to fix it, and she snapped at me. She told me to put my hands through the machine twice, and when I took them out after two times, she snapped at me. I hope there is some coaching around respect towards clients. Otherwise, great experience.
Went today for a SNS soak off and the lady that did my nails was rough, impatient, and rude. She kept lifting my nails with her nails before 10 min of soaking even went by, which was very painful. Soak offs should not be painful. I kept telling her that it hurt, saying ouch, and taking deep breaths. I proposed to her if she could use the acrylic nail drill instead, but she continued to cause me pain. The whole point of me going to get a soak off was so that I did not have to go through the pain of lifting them off at home. She did not even warn me about the potential pain, nor did she say sorry for the pain she was causing me. She did not have any type of conversation with me. She didnt even ask me how my day was. Then she had the nerve to ask me for a tip. I calmly and collectively told her no and explained to her why. Never going back again.
The absolute worst experience you can have at a nail salon is an INFECTION. I noticed my nail tech, Maggie, did not insert a liner into the pedicure tub. I didnt make a fuss about it because I had been to the salon several times before and assumed they had some other hygienic practice in place --maybe they actually washed the tubs in between? Shortly after my pedicure I began to experience crazy itching in between my toes. The sensation got worse throughout the evening and climaxed into an utter burning sensation. These are all symptoms of ATHLETES FOOT which is super common at uncleanly nail salons. I called the salon as soon as they opened the next day. They said the owner would call me. Several hours passed no one called me, so I called the salon back. I explained the situation to one of the manicurist (Caroline?) again and she said So what do you want? I requested a full refund. She said she could not honor that AND she made no efforts to otherwise remedy the situation.I have been to this salon so many times. I used to love it here. I referred so many people. We came for what I thought was the best pedicure in Philly. But a few months ago their management team transitioned and it has not been the same since. The customer service is terrible. The reviews about trying to force customers to tip after theyve experience subpar customer service are all true. The salon has officially hit rock bottom for me and I plan to call Health Services.
The salon used to be great, but has taken a pretty negative turn. The people working there judge how much you’re tipping and then proceed to ask you to tip them more. It’s ridiculous. Terrible customer service.
I have been coming here to get pedicures and manicures for the past two years on a semi-regular basis (probably 15 times altogether). I have a bad, nervous habit of picking at my cuticles and I need some serious help cleaning them up and moisturizing them. Normally, they have done a wonderful job at this and honestly saved my cuticles in the past. This time, however, as the manicurist was cutting off my cuticles, she cut my real skin and it started to bleed like crazy. She blamed me and my bad habit of picking at my cuticles, which was a bit strange because Ive been getting manicures for years and nobody has ever accidentally cut my real skin because of my messed up cuticles. But I thought, ok, people make mistakes, and we kept going. Then as she was cleaning under my thumb nail, she pushed the skin too far back and the area underneath my nail started to bleed. She was kind enough to let me run home (a block away) to get some cash because my debit card wasnt working. But today (the next morning) I can see that she didnt do nearly as good of a job cleaning up and moisturizing my cuticles as they normally do, and my thumb and finger hurt. I wanted to write this review in case anybody else had a similar experience and wanted to know if it was a one-off or not.
Took to long to acknowledge me when I entered the establishment.
Theres nothing like getting insulted by the staff while getting a pedicure. The individual who did my manicure and pedicure used the word fat to describe my calves, told me to go to a doctor about my ankle injury and declared I should be taking vitamins, and then when I gave her $5 (despite wanting to give her none), she asked for more money – saying they appreciate 25%. I smiled and thought, bless your heart, honey.
Do yourself a favor and listen to the other poor reviews. The pedicure was fine but after I tipped her she came to me to tell me my tip wasn’t enough and I should give more and informed me exactly how much I should give. I informed them that tip is not only optional but certainly isn’t a predetermined amount. Don’t be guilted into giving them more they obviously do this ALL the time. Customer service is non-existent.
Champagne, hot stone, hot wax on heels, hot towels, extended leg and foot massages and shoulder massage to finish it off. Whats not to love?!
Since Im not from this area, I chose to pick a place for a pedicure based on reviews I read. Blue Nail & Spa did not disappoint. One of the best pedicures Ive gotten in a while! I would highly recommend you try this place if in the area.
They definitely do a good job here. I recommend always making an appointment as they rarely take walk-ins (they will always ask if you can come back at minimum an hour later if it’s earlier in the day and if near the end they’ll ask you to come back tomorrow). They have an atm in the shop with very low fees. The owner doesn’t allow tips on credit card so if you want tip you’ll have to get cash. They also give a discount for paying in cash. If you want fancy nail designs I would recommend going somewhere else as this isn’t really what the do but their simple nails look great. They are definitely a little pushy when it comes to tipping which is off putting which is the reason I dropped a star.
I feel that the service was great: compared to salons in North Philly. This salon provides champagne, feet, hands and back massages DURING your service😁, and a wide variety of color choices. They do ask for a 20% tip if youre ok with that.. But this is a highly sophisticated nail salon that provides great service to center city Philadelphia.
Good prices for a mani/pedi combo. I dont do gels so cant comment on those, but they give you a nice massage during the pedicure.
The perfect experience. Relaxing. Accommodating. Reasonable prices. Great service.
Pretty great, complimentary sparkling wine. Not great callus removal. They dont use any shaving device, but charge am extra ten bucks. Over good.
Love the services here! Really the best in the neighborhood! Highly recommend it!
Went to nail salon for the first time on Friday. Got an acrylic fill in - they chipped the next day. Went in to get them fixed and they chipped again. Not worth it to go back - plus the staff is rude and didnt even apologize for the terrible job they did. Also guilted me into tipping a full 20% when I knew they didnt deserve it. Never going back!
Good service. The employees greedy tip me more, tip me more atittude absolutely blows, though. The different workers there changed from many years ago to 18 Christmas season(my very last visit-never-again). Very poor ettiquette.
I love this place already me and my boyfriend went today. And Loved it this is definitely our new spot to come too....🙌🏾😊
Friendly, experienced staff paired with clean, tidy and comfortable customer area makes this five star review easy.
My fav nail salon in Philly. The girl Laura is super attentive and kind and amazing at her work. Would go there whenever.
Great staff and prices are fair
Great nail salon! However, very expensive in comparison to other salons. I had a pedicure, and it cost what a mani/pedi combo costs at other spots. Great service, and wonderful foot massage with wax soak. Ill come here whenever I want to splurge!
Kind and helpful staff. Quick workers, complimentary beverage, and a shoulder massage with a manicure! Ira was awesome!
Terrible customer service. It’s a shame, they do decent work but won’t be going back and would not recommend
Love, love love Joanne and Danny (all help good). Efficient, friendly, accommodating. Skilled.
Prejuidice!! i recently started attending this salon not too long ago and i enjoyed my visits. services are wonderful, and i would never question the amazingness of their work. as a nail person, i have no complaints. yet i wont be returning here as an african american person, because to have a woman of color (chinese) touch and PET your hair and giggle at it and make snide comments about how unfamiliar and weird my afro is, and how she didnt understand why anyone would want hair like mine, was an experience i am used to, and still massively despise. i had to fake laugh it off and pretend it didnt bother me. she was sweet and funny and we built a small association with each other, but that moment made me so uncomfortable and unhappy that i decided right there that i wouldnt come back. this space, ive also noticed, is predominantly white/asian, and i didnt care originally (a bihh just wanted xyr nails done!), but now i do. i do not feel welcome here and would let other brown/black peoples know to find someone else where we are welcome. i will be going to brown sugar scrub, a black owned nail salon instead. thank you guys for the prompt and neat service though, i guess.
Went with my wife for a couples pedi. Great job done by a friendly staff. Ask for the callus removal.
This is the only place I can go to and totally relax. My best friend took me here once and I have not gone anywhere else since.
Excellent pedicure with massage and paraffin. Free champagne
She messed up my nails so bad that they bled while she was cutting them and it hurts to type this. When I told her the cut was much shorter than I wanted and I wanted them longer, she cut them shorter without asking me if it was okay. It looks like a two year old did them. They’re so uneven because she tried to fix it but it was unfixable, even adding acrylics wouldn’t help. I’ll never be back again and won’t recommend anyone to go here.
I’ve come here 3-4 times in less than a year (I don’t get my nails done very frequently as I enjoy doing them myself). My best manicure experience has been with Lola. The salon is very nice and comfortable, and they make sure to keep it clean. Overall, the service is pretty good, and they even throw in a complimentary drink of choice per service you get (mani, pedi, etc). However, it’s happened twice that my nails chip day-of, which personally drives me crazy.During most recent visit, I got a mani/pedi done by two different people (~$43 total in cash). Pedicure was great, and the manicure started off good as well, until it came time to pay before applying the nail polish. I paid $55, which came down to $12 tip total to be divided by the two ladies who took care of me, that is still >20% tip for either of them. After I said the $12 were to be divided between them, the woman doing my manicure applied the nail polish quickly, and the top coat was definitely half-assed. It felt like she was trying to finish off the service and get rid of me. I did not comment on the way I was treated towards the end, but I will likely not be going back.
I love this place. Pedicures here are well worth every penny.
Great job! Champagne and a massage while youre getting your nails done!
BEWARE of this salon. It was my second time back and it was terrible. My first time there it was so uncomfortable. They did my nails and toes at the same time to take walk ins. They also talk about the customers as well. Second time going I got a full set gel manicure and regular pedicure and it was $110! Not even worth it. The girl cut my toe and it was bleeding when I got home. Never going back again
My gel manicure chips every time I get it done here.
Clean and accurate! Definitely the best of Philly!
My favorite nail salon! They include champagnes and parafin wax treatment on your heels when you get pedicure. My favorite nail techs there are Julie and Danni.
Slightly expensive. Great service.
Staff so kind and also did a beautiful job on my terrible nails!!
Nice nail salon
My go to nail salon
