I agree with the previous reviewer in terms of somehow getting lucky with a decent moving crew. I had used Man with a Van previously when I moved from NYC to Philly. The two movers were very efficient and did not damage any of my belongings. The total move, including the drive, took only 3.5 hours. I used them again recently to move apartments that was only 15-20 minutes away from each other and it was a 180 experience. First, they were 25 minutes late. Once they arrived, they took their time with finishing their cigarettes and unloading the trolleys. Throughout the entire time, they moved like they had all the time in the world. It took them one hour just to load a studio apartment with minimal furniture (the other crew from NYC only took 30 min). My boxes were crushed when we specifically mentioned which ones were considered fragile. They also sat on my small luggage just for an elevator ride up. My mattress cover was ripped in the process of the move. As the previous reviewer said, speaking to Jake was terrible, as he was extremely rude the whole time. For those looking to move, other companies I would suggest: Broad Street Movers, Moverama, and Ben the Mover Guy. They all have great ratings, which is something I shouldve considered before deciding to book with MWaV. Never again.

I used Man with A Van and personally had a decent experience, as they had a crew come from New York to move my furniture from my apartment into a storage unit in Philadelphia. My movers were quick and moved everything in under two hours. Three days later, my boyfriend used their service to move his furniture and inventory into the same storage unit, and it took from 3:30 until 9:45 at night. Having a polar opposite experience, my boyfriend spoke to their supervisor, Jake, and he was defensive and rude from the start of the conversation. Telling him that hes lucky to have one hour taken off from the hourly rate total. Jake also admitted that my boyfriend got the short end of the stick in terms of their services, whereas I got lucky with the crew that I got. How is that considered good customer service? When you work with a company and use their services, you would expect the same or similar experience every time. Man with a van doesnt work like that, and Jake made sure to get that point across. In classic Philly fashion, we got a cold and tough luck type of response from their management. Id suggest that anyone proceeds with caution before booking with this stinky company.

Overall, had a good experience with this company. The movers took care of my furniture - brining the padding and doing the wrapping themselves. It was my first time using movers so Im happy everything went according to plan!

RUN! We asked for a couch and a bed with box spring to be moved. One of the two guys arrived 50 minutes late and the other one just sat there waiting. So my friend and I decided to move the mattress and box spring ourselves. Once the movers were both there, they moved the couch and ended up doing thousand of dollars of damage to the historical building that we were in, and getting into a fight with other residents. I cant imagine things going worse.

This company should be rated as the best of the best. I was left stranded by another moving company on moving day. As simple as a phone call and sharing my tragedy Paul managed to find the ability to move me within a couple of hours of a phone call. But wait theres more. The employees who provided the labor exceeded all expectations. Lastly even knowing I was desperate they provided more services and did not take financial advantage of the situation. Integrity Honesty Reliability....

Absolutely impeccable service. Jake and his partner were fast, efficient, friendly and hilarious ! I recently moved from a 4th floor walk up in center city to a trinity style home in society hill.. I really enjoyed interacting with them. Given the current climate (ya know, the rona) people can tend to be a little uptight and stand-offish. Not the case with these two! One of the movers even offered to help my neighbor (who was having difficulty getting out of her drive way!) Chivalry aint dead folks. I will most definitely turn to this company again when I make my next move. Thank you guys!!! 😊

Honestly I was a little concerned when booking with how chill Man with a Van was. But they totally came through! They had to reschedule my timeslot the day before but they communicated that and everything was fine. I had them unload from a truck we had and they got it done within an hour and charged me exactly as they had said. Will definitely look to use them again if Im moving in the Philly area!

One star is too good for this moving company. My roommate and I moved in July and we are still dealing with their incompetence! They broke our coffee table and damaged our old apartments walls so bad our old landlord took a huge chunk out of our security deposit. They told us it would only be $400 to move a few things a short distance across the city and it ended up being $700! We kindly asked for some money back based on the damages and they accepted. That was in August, we still have not yet received the money. They have stopped responding to our emails about it. I am irate and ready to take legal action against them, this is not how you run a business. If you are considering using this company to move, good luck but expect the worst.

Well I have to say that there were a lot of issues that I encountered in the beginning. We spoke on the phone about the move various things that needed me the date and time and where my things are being moved from I thought everything would be squared away to my dismay it was not. Then when the day of the move came no one answered her phone no one and I didnt get an email until like 3 or 4 hours later and I still didnt get them to move my things I had to use a friends car because they were unresponsive. So they may have a good price but their customer service Lacks sufficiently

These folks were timely, fast, and professional. They brought their own supplies and worked hard to fit everything in the van. Did I mention they had to drive all the way from New York? Good work. Pleasant to talk to as well.

These movers are AMAZING! They were efficient, professional, and did a wonderful job. I had a last minute move and I called them 4 days before my intended moving date. They were professional on the phone and were able to fit me in last minute during the busy summer moving season. If I move again in the Philadelphia area, I will definitely call Man with a Van first.

I made an appointment to move my items on Saturday last week they came 2 hours late. I made the appointment from 10-12pm the manger listed the wrong time in the book. I called and the coworkers were not being helpful. I spoke to the manager and he told me he would take a discount off for their lateness. He told only took off the travel time fee which was only $20.00. When the employees were putting my bed back together they did a horrible job. When they finally arrived they started taking apart my bed and pieces were missing. I noticed after when my bed was not stable. I would not use this service again or recommend them to friends.

Over the years weve had many different moving companies. This was a smaller move and we opted to try Man with a Van. They were excellent. The movers were respectful, friendly, competent and a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend this company if you are interested in a successful moving experience!

The men came on time and very polite. However, by the end of the move I had BLACK FINGERPRINTS ALL OVER MY: 2 upholstered beds, walls and chairs, also, chips on my furniture. Looking back, I should have call the company for a discount for cleaning services and lack in the quality of their service, but was just wanted the move to be completed. So disappointed!!!

Remarkable customer service. My friend who was supposed to help me move had an accident with his van the day before I was set to move. The guys were great! They moved a sofa bed from a second floor loft around 2 difficult staircases. They were done in 20 minutes. Id definitely hire them again.

My prior roommates rec. these guys and so I gave them a shot. When the guys got there they were definitely hustling. Moved me from my room on the 2nd floor to my new 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor all in under an hour and a half. Will definitely be booking through them again for my next move.

I had a one bedroom apt worth of stuff I needed moved a short distance to a new apt. Man With a Van was awesome! The crew finished with their morning job and called to check with me whether they could start early. A 3 man team came to the pick-up at 1 PM and were finished with the drop-off at 2:30 PM. They worked hard and cheerfully. I was very pleased and they come highly recommended. If you are moving in Philly, definitely look into these guys. Also get a temporary no parking permit, it worked wonders.

Man with a van was honestly 6/5 stars. Such a good experience. We were in and out of my apartment with the truck loaded in 30 minutes and drop off at my new place was equally quick and easy! Highly recommend!!

We have used Man With a Van for 2 moves. Both were difficult jobs because of a large number of stairs and narrow stairwells. We also arent the best at packing everything up neatly :) The 3-man crews took everything in stride and worked quickly and carefully both times. They wasted no time and were polite and friendly. Will continue to use them in the future if we move again!

I tried calling them and was put on hold for 10 minutes. Finally when they took me off of hold, I was rudely asked what I wanted as the man forgot I was on hold. The attitude and professionalism was poor, as I was hung up on when the dates I gave were not suitable for them. Overall would not use this company simply out of lack of polite customer service.

These guys are the best movers in Philadelphia. I moved from Center City to South Philly, they are not cheap movers but they are the cheapest real moving company with insurance certificates and my building needed one.

Great service. Very easy to set up a time via email. The guys (Ben, Jeff, and Kenny I believe) showed up right on time and immediately started the process. They were all very chill, nice, and considerate of my belongings. They finished the job quite quickly and for a reasonable price. Definitely recommended!

I have spoken to the owner twice about three of his vehicles being parked on my street illegally since commercial vehicles cannot be parked here. He said that he would have the driver move them to a parking lot. That was over a week ago. If this is an example of the company’s responsiveness then neither I nor anyone I know will be using them.

Absolutely Awesome. Moving is so stressful but Kevin and Conner really made the experience quick and painless. The company was quick to email me back and set up my last minute move and I couldnt be happier. Excellent service. Excellent experience. The price was very reasonable. The guys were punctual and friendly. Some of the items were challenging - chiropractic tables which are very heavy and have many moving parts making them difficult to lift and carry. They obviously knew what they were doing because they moved them quickly and efficiently without incident. I highly recommend these guys for any of your moving needs.

We used these guys to move items from a house were selling to a storage locker. The three guys on the truck were on time (actually early) and didnt waste any time. They were able to fit an almost impossible amount of stuff into an 8x12 storage locker, when it looked like it couldnt be done. They didnt waste time and never slowed down until the job was done. They were worth the price, since there is no way we could have moved that items and stored it all in the amount of time that they did it.

Absolutely perfect. quick and easy, best price; they were careful with our walls, etc. i had no problems with pick up or delivery. was able to call day before amazingly, get a Sunday pickup, and pay by credit card. they did all of the pickup delivery and payment in just under one hour.next time i need to get something heavy out, I will call these guys. well worth the great price!!!

Laugh with me, folks... Im finally too old to be stupid. I endeavored to relocate a NordicTrack Commercial 2450 treadmill from an apartment to a house about 15 minutes away. Mind you, it weighs over 300 pounds and would not fit through the door at either location fully assembled. Everything was fine until the moment my over 50 crew actually had to do it... not happening... what were we thinking, right?I searched, found and hired Man With A Van with cautious optimism based on their reviews. Less than 48 hours later, two guys arrived to disassemble, transport and reassemble that treadmill in ONE HOUR.Seriously people... be smarter than me well ahead of your moving nightmare. Dont even think about saving a few bucks. Call these people and save a whole lot more. Man With A Van is the real deal!

I used Man with a Van to move a pool table and they did a great job. They initially were not able to get it into the elevator so they voluntary carried it up 5 flights of stairs without a question. They were very professional and finished the job in an hour and half. This was great because I have dealt with other companies who will take twice the amount of time to do anything and charge you for that time. Not these guys, they were in and out with extreme efficiency.I plan to use them again for another move in the coming week!

I have never used Man with a Van, but I was almost hit by a car because they were parked illegally in a crosswalk while unloading. The blind spot they created meant both the car making a legal right turn and I, the pedestrian with right of way, could not see each other.As a company whose main deal is driving things to places, one would think they would know basic traffic/parking laws and the consequence for breaking them. Man With A Van took the stress out of my move yesterday! Tom and his guys showed up on time and could not have been more professional and kind. I was worried that a few of my items would be too big to move out of my current house and into my new house because of the door size constraints but they managed to move everything without any bumps or bruises. They moved extremely quick and I really couldnt beat the price. I would have paid double, maybe triple, for all the relief they provided me. I highly recommend them!

They were on time, but they seemed careless with the furniture they were moving. They slammed my sofa into multiple walls and didnt use wraps or pads so my dining room table now has scratches in it and theres a rip in my desk chair. If you just need something hauled Id probably hire them again since the price is decent, but be careful how things are prepared for their arrival.Editing my review down to one star. Discovered additional damage to my sofa they moved. A broken rod and scratches in the fabric. Maybe if they wrapped it like they advertised they would this wouldn’t have happened.
