After my long pandemic haircut break, it was a great experience to go back to Meisters. As always, my appointment was excellent. Reyes hooked me up with another great cut, with everything on time, quickly done, and following safety protocols. Ive been going here long enough now that we have a nice, easy chat while he works. The other barbers all seem cool as well, and the music selection is always interesting, never boring. Treat yourself to a chill vibe in a well designed pad with some of the best barbers youll find on the East Coast. Highly recommended.

Great cut at a very fair price, honestly lower than I expected given the location and the quality of the shop. Really nice fade for only 18 bucks, cant beat it man. The guys working in there were all cool, there was solid funny banter, and there was a steady stream of friendly patrons coming and going. Im moving to the neighborhood this month and Im glad I have a cool barbershop locked down already.Also feel I should mention their covid protocols and all were on point. Personally not a big deal to me, but if it is to you, you wont need to worry about it. Guys were cool and laid back, but still following all of the guidelines and such.

I have been desperate to find a place to get my son’s haircut. He is 1.5 years old. I booked an appointment with Jamie, and he was fantastic! Extremely talented and very patient. My son threw a tantrum, and screamed and cried almost the entire time. It was awful. Total toddler meltdown. My husband held him and I held a tablet to try to distract him. However, Jamie was kind, professional and patient. I was so embarrassed, but everyone in the shop was supportive. I would not suggest taking a toddler if they may act like my son did (the tantrum phase has begun), but his hair looks amazing. Meister’s is an exquisite barbershop. It is modern, clean and very safe. The real deal. Honestly, it looks straight out of a movie. Pandemic era: Everyone wears masks and they do not allow crowding in the shop.I hope to be able to take my son back one day. If so, we will definitely go back to Jamie. Thank you so much. Terrible. Frank the ignorant barber just cut my hair how he wanted. I asked for a simple fade with one clip on the top and another on the side. He basically just buzzed my head with one clip. I had no idea this was going on as frank likes to turn you completely away from the mirror so you cant witness his incompetence. I was tired of hearing his excuses and asked to please pay so I could try to at least get it fixed some place else. He continued making excuses and then told me never to come back, even though Im pretty sure hes not the owner. Great customer service. Ive had good haircuts here before, but will definitely never be back after this experience.

Reyes was professional, detail oriented, and was very accommodating in asking what and how I wanted while also offering his advice professionally.Barbershop is clean, modern, and very well priced for the city. They take your temp at the door and wear masks the entire time. It was fantastic.

Ive been getting my hair styled and cut by renowned barbers for almost 5 years now, so I know when someone has talent.I did some research, and a lot of customers mentioned Adrian, so thats who I booked with.He did a fantastic job on my skin fade, and even faded my beard. Usually barbers are skilled with either scissors or clippers, but not both. He was able to utilize both skill sets very well.Highly recommend. Awesome music playing too. A bit pricey so be prepared.

Love this place. Rob and his staff are all very talented, and every cut that I have gotten here has been on point. The shop runs on time, and is very clean. I also felt very safe getting my haircut here, as they are taking all the necessary protocols and precautions during these tough times.

Maybe a bit pricier than other nearby shops, however the experience was efficient and professional. I felt that my barber was thorough without being slow, which is something I can certainly appreciate. The cut itself looks nice, which can be difficult to do with my ever-thinning hair. Adrian did an excellent job fading from nearly skin to a medium length on the top. I will likely be returning to this shop for future cuts.

At least in my experience, this is the first shop I’ve never received a cut I wasn’t happy with. I go to Adrian, but they seem pretty consistent regardless of who you book an appointment. In my opinion, prices are reasonable and I’m always in and out quickly.

First time going here and first time in a very long time going to a barber period... Have been working on changing my look but it was time to take out some of the wildness that was happening with my beard and hair. Scott was very professional and listened very carefully to my wishes and ideas. He did a splendid job and Ive gotten many compliments. Several people have told me I look 10 years younger... And at 41 thats not a bad thing 😀

I don’t know why I never checked them out even though I’ve lived 10 minutes away for the last year and a half. Booked an appointment online which was hassle free and had my haircut by Adrian. It was very well done and I was real happy with the outcome. It’s a very nice vibe in the barbershop and the other barbers seem very nice and friendly as well. Definitely recommend this jawn.

Rob and his team of barbers are the best at what they do. I travel 50 minutes to an hour one way to get my hair cut at meisters because the quality of service is worth it.

I got a gift certificate for the shop and it was a good experience. comfortable waiting area, pretty packed on a Friday afternoon. I got myself a cold Hamms out of the mini-fridge and was able to enjoy that before I was called up. Ill say this, they cut pretty good hair, but definitely emphasize the feel and design of the place more. The haircut was good but not so good Id drop $28 plus tip every two weeks. Ill be back before a wedding or other big event though!

I just moved to south Philly from another area in Philly, and I decided to give these guys a shot b cause of all of the great reviews. The atmosphere in the place is cool. They play good music and the barbers are friendly and social. Unfortunately, they seem a bit one dimensional. To me, this place is more of a salon than a barber shop. Not that that is a bad thing, just not what I was looking for. I wanted a low fade and a beard shave with sharp lines. On my low fade the babes didnt trim my bangs with a straight sharp line, and the fade looked more like a buzz cut than a fade that I have gotten for many years in philly style barber shops. Also, when I saw that they had straight razors I though that was a good sign, unfortunately the barber didnt even use the straight razor to shave my beard. It was simply used to shave the back of my neck.I was going to ask to have these things fixed, but I didnt feel comfortable with the barber to have them fixed to my liking, therefore I had to come home from my $16 haircut and cut my own hair again.If you are looking for a salon style cut these guys are probably perfect for you. They are clean, nice, and sociable, and they will probably cut your hair well. For me, I will be going back to my neighborhood barber shop for now!

It really depends on who is cutting your hair. Ive been here several times with varying results. Sometimes I leave looking good, other times I feel like the barber didnt listen to a word I said and left with my hair a mess. Comfortable waiting area with good music to listen to, but they dont take walk-ins.

One of the best experiences Ive had at a barbershop! The barbers are friendly and the shop has a great overall vibe. The barbers are skilled and cut hair with good precision. I was a little hesitant walking into the shop but I figured I would give it a go. Havent had much luck outside of my regular barber who happens to be out of state. Great spot! All of the hair stylist/barbers are nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable and a steal personally! I have longer hair, so Im sure Im difficult.Rob was my first barber there about a year ago and he was calm and understanding to MY inability to articulate what I wanted exactly. He really listened and I was quite happy with the outcome!Today, I showed up an hour before close (which I wouldnt recommend any later than that [common sense]) and greeted by Adrian, who gave me a polished haircut and cleaned up my beard lines!I also had Patrick (I think that was his name) a couple months ago and he did a great job too. At first I was on the fence about it, but after a bit it grew out to exactly what I wanted.

Excellent service and wonderful cuts. The lines can be long at times, but the wait is well worth it. They take their time with every haircut to make sure the customer is satisfied. Also, hip, cool decor and music.

Came to this place after a recommendation from a friend after just moving back to Philly. I booked a haircut with the owner, Rob Baumeister. Admittedly I was 3 minutes late to my appointment as it was my first time coming here and turned on the wrong street. Rob seemed a bit impatient when I wanted to show him photos of the style that Id like which I thought was strange as I was a brand new client. His response was, I got it and I just felt inclined to trust that it would be a great haircut. Rob did the entire haircut with my chair turned away from the mirror and I couldnt see anything that he was doing. After the haircut was done and he turned me around, I was shocked because he had chopped off about two inches of hair more than I wanted. He could probably sense that and immediately said that because I hadnt had a haircut in a while and since it wasnt with him before he had to make adjustments that it would take three weeks for my hair to get to the look I actually wanted. I travel a ton and get my haircut with new stylists all around the world and this is the first time anyone has ever completely ignored my requests and done what they felt like doing. After the haircut was done, I felt quite rushed out of the seat and didnt really get to look at what was done in detail. I was in the bathroom and noticed that the fade he had done was uneven on one side and I politely brought this up to him asking if he could just fix that one part and his response was nothing short of rude and dismissive and I left and went home and fixed it myself. I get that this place is busy but a professional response would have been to ask me to come back and schedule something. Robs skills at doing fades was average at best in my opinion. Was it a horrible haircut? No... but it wasnt what I had asked for. If you want a haircut with a ton of attitude thrown in, this is your place. I get that this is South Philly but save the attitude and inflated ego when it comes to how you respond to clients.

Meisters has a relaxed environment (a cold Hamms while you wait, if there is a wait, is a nice touch), fair pricing, a good soundtrack, and a professional staff with the ability to cut different kinds of hair and different styles. Ive seen Ashley for about 3 years now (followed her from a previous barbershop) and shes fantastic. Note that parking is tough (theyre on East Passyunk, after all) and youd be better off taking and uber, SEPTA, or biking over.

I was a walk-in and they accommodated me soon as I got there. Everyone was friendly; I was offered a cold beverage during my stay. The haircut was exactly what I asked for. Pricing was comparable to other chic locations.

I went back and forth on my decision to write this review, because it may mean that I’ll have to book Sheena even further in advance due to the potential spike in business! With my selfishness aside, I can’t say enough about the quality and CONSISTENCY of the cuts that Sheena gives. I’m very picky about my hair and have trust issues when it comes to barbers (who doesn’t?). I’ve been cut everywhere from basements to high end studios and nobody does it better than Sheena. It’s because she actually knows how to cut hair in a way that doesn’t make you look like you just got snipped by one of those tabletop paper cutters. A++++

Walk ins only! This is a barbershop for hipsters who want hipster haircuts. If youre not looking for that style, you might want to try somewhere else, but if that is what you want, this is the place. Haircuts are not quick, attention to detail is intense, and for the quality of the cut, the price is excellent.

Very friendly staff wait time was about 1 minute at 6:30PM. They were also nice when I asked them about tips on maintaining my hair. It was also inexpensive at 16 dollars.

Been going here for cuts for the past 4 years. Never disappoints.

It felt like I was the first black person to ever walk into this barbershop. My sides aren’t even the same.My hairline is destroyed and it will take at least 3 weeks to grow back. I feel as if it is my fault because I should of knew not to walk into a all white barbershop. I attempted to fix it with hair dye but not even that worked. He cut off my waves that took at least 6 months to form. He should have warmed me that he didn’t know how to cut my hair. He had the audacity to say, “I hope you come back”, he even said “I am learning as I go”. This is the type of disrespect I hope to never encounter again.

Depends on who you get. My hair cut and beard trim were both terrible this time. I had to shave my beard off and am going else where to fix my cut. More details below...What I asked for-I asked for a beard trim just to take out the stragglers and fix the neck line.What I received-The beard trim I received was so bad that I immediately went home and shaved my beard off.-Even walking from my car to my house was embarrassing. I didnt want my neighbors to see me.How was it so bad?-He dragged my cheek line way far down ON ONE SIDE.-He shaved off all but 3 hairs that connected my mustache to my beard-He overall took it down way too short. I only asked for him to get the stragglersSo why didnt I stop him sooner?-I wish I would but I am blind without my glasses. By the time I saw it it was too late.How am I feelings?-Naked-Like I was a blind man taken advantage ofNote to self: never get your beard trimmed by someone who doesnt have a beard
