Theyre a great agency, just not the best buy.I was a customer for 5 years. Then and now, they beat the combined premiums of any single insurance company for Home and Auto insurance, but after 5 years, the premiums have slowly crept up, and the service has slowed down on response. After I verified they couldnt provide any policies with lower premiums for me, which took just over a week, I checked 3 other local agencies. Within 2 days, all 3 provided me with better policies, 1 with more coverage and $900 less in premiums for the year.

I have been with southern group for 3 years now. I currently wanted to update my insurance as well as adding life insurance.... I have been working on this for a month!!! I have been waiting for a week to get someone to help answer my questions so I can turn in my life insurance... I have NEVER had this much trouble getting someone to take my money. Prices are cheap but Im not sure they are even worth it anymore!

Ken and Nancy both took the time and exhibited patience with me and worked like true professionals. I know many different insurance company owners as I am a residential/commercial realtor of almost 14 years and I chose Southern group after doing my due dilligence with shopping my home and autos. I left USAA after their rising costs just got absurd and Ken saved me $1000 on what my new USAA policy would have cost! Highly recommend.

I feel like I need to chime in and offset some of the negative reviews!My experience with Southern Group has been really positive. Weve been with them for about 3 years. It started with Ken taking the time to explain all the various coverage options; ACV -vs- replacement cost, and explain the variations like HOA, HOB, etc. None of the other agencies I got quotes from would take any time to explain coverages or make recommendations. Ive compared pricing in the last couple years and found them to be competitive.We havent made a claim with them, so I cant comment on that process.

We moved into a townhouse recently and my dad recommended Southern Group Insurance broker company. Yulissa was very responsive and sent us competitive quotes from FedNat, one of the few insurance companies that will insure a partially flat roofed townhouse. She has been very responsive and polite and sent us clear, descriptive quotes with no hidden fees and explained everything on the quote. Hopefully FedNat will be good to work with if we ever have a claim, but we were very happy with sign up process with Yulissa.

Horrible Service. One month after closing on my new house and using them as my service provider, they decide to cancel my insurance and raise my rates. I lost money making the switch to another insurance company but I do not want anything to do with them.

Probably will not renew with this company. Call backs are not timely and other than collect premiums, they deliver no service.
