Was a student here throughout my childhood and going into adulthood, eventually becoming an assistant instructor and teaching classes myself. It was a massive part of my growth and character development. My life was much improved through Gary’s mentorship. It was not easy, and takes real commitment to see results, but the rewards were well worth it.

This is a wonderful studio Mr flickinger is such a good teacher he gets to know the students and the families he teaches discipline and respect as well as martial arts I highly recommend the studio

My daughter just turned 4. She is very shy and insecure. Kung Fu panda being one of her favorite movies she was so excited to learn self defense. The problem was getting her in class. She would scream and cry and refuse to go in, yet after she said she wanted to do it again. Today she wouldn’t even go inside with the other kids. So instead class was held outside for her. I wanted to just hug the instructor. That meant so much for her and myself. I sat and watch and will admit it brought tears to my eyes cause she was doing so good and really enjoying herself. Thank you to all the staff for helping her to get over her fears and being patient with her. It’s places like Palo Alto self defense that really make a difference in kids lives.

Gary Flickinger is rude, disrespectful, condescending to both adults and children. Do not sign a contract with these people. I made that mistake because he persistently kept calling me for a “free lesson” only to be pressured into signing the contract. First trial lesson was great because it was not Gary Flickinger. The old bait n switch occurred after I signed the contract. There are plenty of reputable karate schools and I wish I did my research before commuting to this place. Other parents have the same negative reviews about him. He has ruined my kids’ chances at liking karate due to his brute attempts with communication. I urge all to do research and ask around before signing up here.

Excellent, structured program with terrific instructors. Master Flickinger has owned and managed multiple studios over the years and Im so glad that we have him here to learn from. As individuals, we are held accountable for working hard and to improve with every lesson. As a team, I enjoy the chance to work together and help each other improve. At 48, Im one of the elders here; I joined 4 months ago. I couldnt be more pumped up for my progress and for the opportunities ahead. Check out a class, give it a try, youll be glad you did.

My son of 15 found this place through his peers at high school. He loves it and the staff is awesome. His progression is beyond my expectations and he has grown so much mentally after he started working out there. And I feel that he is seen for his individuality. Would recommend the place to everyone who wants to do martial arts:-)

I recently just joined this dojo and have had nothing but great experiences with their teachers and staff. Its a really positive environment and I look forward to learning more from them.

A great place to learn to defend yourself. Also one of the only places which teach weapons and give private lessons as well as group lessons.

Pretty good program, but not for lazy people. everything is worked hard for here and students have to be willing to put in energy, time and effort
