March 2020; we worked with Dave Strand and made an appointment with a plan to purchase same day unless there were any red flags. Dave and team were great & accommodated my family with kids hanging out while they finished detailing & werent pushy with warranty options for purchase. Appreciate their efficiency & friendliness!Also - about a week after purchase, there was a battery issue -- I wouldve had to pay out of pocket almost $200, Dave & team took care of it without issue -- would purchase again from them, no hesitation!

Service writer was very friendly and helpful. Then the shuttle driver was efficient, friendly and professional. So far, I give the service department 5 stars. The oil change department not so much. Their staff are about as friendly as a wet mop.

False Advertising / Bait and Switch. Vehicle advertised for $53,000. Made an appointment the day before, drove over an hour (one way) to get there and told that the vehicle is actually priced at $62,000. Simple mistake they say. This is a 2020 vehicle with 2021 models now on the lot and sat on their lot how long? It was so dirty that it had to have been there for months. Wasted 3 hours and half a tank of gas.

I have bought several vehicles over the last 30 years and have never had a dealership go above and beyond like these guys. Hands down the best customer service I have ever had they found me the truck I wanted at a better price than my local dealer could even get close to and then delivered it to me so I didn’t have to take any time away from work and family. They did more over the phone than most dealers would consider doing if you were in there showroom begging for help. Definitely recommend.
Apparently when you buy a used car, this dealer doesn’t like to disclose an issue. Owatonna motor company won’t even offer to fix it less then 24 hours after buying it! As far as I can see there is no difference between this place and a sleaze used car shop. I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.
Owatonna Motor Company hit a home run with us twice in a row. After an issue with our van, in which it needed to be towed, we used them for service. They were reasonably priced and both fast and thorough on the repairs. We began shopping for a new vehicle shortly thereafter and didnt check out Owatonna Motor Company until the very end of our search. We were actually prepared to purchase a vehicle from another dealer in town but saw one we liked online and decided to check it out.As we were perusing the lot with our toddler asleep in the back seat Brian Miller approached us and asked if he could help. The initial vehicle we came to see had just sold, but Brian showed us a variety of vehicles in our budget and was very helpful, knowledgeable, checked off all our wants vs needs when it came to mileage, features, safety etc, and most importantly was not the least bit pushy. He empathized with where we were at and we felt so comfortable speaking with him, especially compared to other salesmen we were working with, that we decided to purchase the Jeep he had us test drive with him on the spot. Brian accompanied us on the test drives, one at a time due to the sleeping child in our current vehicle, and explained everything to us about the vehicle twice over, answered all our questions--even if redundant, and we could absolutely tell that he wanted us to find the best vehicle for us--not the best vehicle that would line his pockets with commission. And thats another thing--the sales team at Owatonna Ford doesnt work off commission, and it was absolutely apparent!To make a long story short they took two of our older vehicles in trade for a reasonable rate and put up with a then awake, hungry and pretty unhappy toddler as we did paperwork--even at one point providing fruit snacks that gave us 15 minutes of blessed relief. We had to drive home to get our remaining vehicle and return to take the newer Jeep home, but all in all it was a 3 hour process from us driving on the lot to look at vehicles to us driving our new (used) vehicle home.I cant recommend Brian Miller or Owatonna Motor Company enough. This was our first experience purchasing a vehicle non-private party and Id absolutely return there in the future!

I am not someone who typically leaves reviews, but I had such a great experience at Owatonna Motor Company. Salesman Mike Hamilton was extremely friendly and helpful. Him along with two other men made the process speedy and smooth. I was impressed with the amount of care and concern that this dealership had for my financing and getting me the best deal. My Dodge Ram 1500 has only 32000 miles on it, but because it was one month out of warranty and the service department indicated it was an issue related to the belt/pulley and not the engine, we had to pay out of pocket. I understand that part, but how they came to this conclusion without first doing a thorough investigation of the vehicle is beyond me. We brought the truck in and got a call back the next day. We were told the problem was identified and a pulley was replaced. All together we paid close to 400 dollars to replace a belt and pulley that werent broken. We got the truck back, and about 10 miles down the road the truck was making the same noise. Obviously, the truck was NOT checked after the pulley was replaced. I called in to say it needed to come back in because the part they replaced was not bad, and the problem was not fixed. I was told that they wouldnt be able to get me back in for almost 2 1/2 weeks and that I would have to pay again for further services. When speaking to the service center, it seemed like they were trying to place blame on me. I told them it sounded squeaky like a belt, BUT I made it clear that at 32,000 miles I couldnt fathom why I would already be having issues with a belt or pulley and wanted it checked out. It seemed like they were eager to jump to identifying a problem that was not related to services that would still be covered under my warranty. I went to the dealer because I felt they had the knowledge and capabilities to diagnose and resolve the problem. I hoped that paying for a higher quality service would equal better results. Had they taken my vehicle back at no charge that day to check it again I would have let go of the whole replacing parts that are not broken problem. I am a reasonable person. If this company were to reach out to me to help resolve my complaint and get a proper diagnosis of the problem, I would be glad to update my rating, but until that time I cannot endorse the services provided.

Bought a new 2019 Jeep limited. Will NOT purchase another car truck anything there again..The only thing that was a good experience. was my salesman Brian..he was awesome..as far as warranty work forget it. I had NO AIRBAGS FROM A WK AFTER PURCHASE I MYSELF CONTACTED THE CS at Chrysler to get that resolved faster .. Then was told quite a story on my oil change. And why they put change in 3000 miles when its synthetic .Oil..thats good till atleast 5-6000.....my next truck or Jeep will be from Waseca Chrysler no doubt!

I had an issue with my truck while traveling for work. I called first thing in the morning and spoke with Pat to see if they could work my truck in their schedule. He told me to bring it on in and they would do what they could. I pulled into dealership 20 minutes later. They pulled my vehicle straight in and Jeremy provided me diagnosis within the hour. The part was not in inventory, but they found it an hour north. Knowing that I was a stranded traveler, they sent a driver to obtain the part. All departments were sympathetic to my predicament and overly accommodating. Dealership displayed everything I would expect from a quality location. Highly recommended.
This place is terrible bought a van here 6 years ago. I went back to purchase a new van. I was lied to about where van came from they said it was a local trade it came from a police auction sticker was still on door . The van was over priced by about $2500. I wanted to talk to the main sales manager about the police auction sticker and the salesman named Brian threw a temper tantrum and stomped off hiding in another room while I talked to another person about the van. Was looking at a new van and they tried to sell me a vehicle overpriced by $4500 ended up buying from somewhere else ...Sitting in a cubical I hear a salesman say were going to make 15 % above a normal sale on this customer not sure who the person was they were talking about but not something I should be hearing.... I believe customers should be treated fair and you would of thought considering I spent 30k 6 years ago was willing to spend 30k again.....You would think that they would make a deal happen they were willing to lose me as a customer I walked away for life .......
ABOVE AND BEYOND. we spent all day looking and feeling like we where being prayed on by salesman that came out of the woodwork as soon as u hit the lot .not here i just didnt feel pressured at this dealership Dave was are sales guy and really went the extra mile to get us where we needed to be. i rarely give five stars and i can tell you that every time i dealt with this place whether it being a $20 part from parts or a question i have for service dept. to buying a car, its always been a positive experience for me ...thanks Dave for the van

I called over to the dealer to get my truck in. They got it in but when they told me that I was 2 days out of warranty and there was nothing they could do that was not good enough. I called over the next day to talk with the service manager and he gave me the 3rd degree, asking me where I bought it, where I had been getting the service work done on it, why had brought it to them. I am not sure why all of that was relevant but I will never take anything there nor will I ever give a thought to go there to purchase any vehicle. Try to give a local dealer ship some work and they wont even work with you!!! I do have to say they nocked my bill down but still with 2 days out of warranty I would have thought they could have done better. Well even though I am just one person they just lost a sale.

I bought a 2014 Ford Fusion that was a repairable and after it got fixed there were two things wrong. 1) didnt know the doors keyless entry (no manual in car). and 2) radio doesnt work.So I brought it here to get things checked out. After work I come back pay and pay about 160 bucks and all they tell me is that my code is some number and my radio is shot. Well I get home and the code doesnt work. I then look on youtube and you can just simply put key 1 in the ignition and start the car then turn it off, then insert the key 2 and start the car and the key code will display on the dash. Boom, there is my key code. However it was COMPLETELY wrong then what they told me it was. So I think I got absolutely ripped off here. they told me my key code was some number that was wrong and just told me my radio was shot and it would be 700 dollars to fix and I pay them 160 bucks for the hard work they put in here... (As a college student every dollar counts).I would think since the code was wrong you wold be entitled to a refund, they did no work and got paid for it. Well manager of the service said its something that happens and no refund.... I bought a radio on eBay for 110 dollars also. I will NEVER, EVER step foot at this place again.Also why would they just not tell you that you can find your keyless entry code if you have both keys...
Absolutely the worse experience I have ever had for customer service. Went in for an oil change, they messed up, got stuck on the side of the road, went in to have them fix it and they blamed us for what THEY did. Unbelievable!

On January 4th my vehicle said critical engine temperature, so the next day I called my local dodge dealership, and scheduled an appt for the following week. I Well intended to have to come back a couple times because of parts always being on backorder. But they replaced my thermostat and had the part ready that same day. I am truly blown away by how nice the staff is there, Macie Lembke is always very helpful, as well as the staff! Dont pay any attention to the one star review, he was out of warranty, thats not anyones fault but the calendar. Id love to buy my next vehicle from these awesome people!

I had to drive an hour and a half and they couldnt tell me any information about a used truck they had for sale. Turns out the thing was so rusted out the bed was about ready to fall off. They were asking 1900 for it even though they listed it online at 1500.

Ive been buying all my trucks here for 20 years. Always a great vehicle shopping experience. Less pressure than a lot of other dealers. They will give you a good solid deal. You might be able to run all over the place and find a dealer that will save you a few dollars, but its easier and more worry free to just shop here.
