Tuffy’s replaced my air conditioning belt, which later caused the accessory belt to malfunction and my auto to stall in a busy, dangerous intersection. I had the car towed to my home that night and to Tuffy’s the next morning. I waited all day for the belts to be replaced, was charged a total of $403.00, and my A/C still does not work. Tuffy’s recommended I drive my car with the windows open. I recommend not taking your auto to Tuffy’s for repairs.

Had my daughter taker her car here for an oil change. Her car does drip a little oil but nothing major. After a couple days I noticed that there seemed to be an extra amount of oil under her car. Once I had an opportunity to look a little further I popped the hood only to find out they forgot to put the oil cap back on the enngine. So while driving she had oil spewing out all over her engine compartment and then all over the outside of the front of her car the bumper is covered in oil. Thankfully she had only drove it a couple times to work not far from home and nothing else. One would think this would be a main point of double checking before releasing the vehicle back to the customer. I know you shouldn’t trust just anyone but one would think this would be something you wouldn’t have to make sure was done when you get you car back. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and will never return to this shop and will make sure I let everyone of my friends, anyone willing to listen know not to take their vehicle here for service. I am usually an understanding person but I felt this was just unacceptable. I would share the photo but can’t add an atttachment.

Okay. So I originally went in for an oil change. The front desk, Chris, was super professional. Informed me that it would be half an hour later. Didnt have anywhere to be so said it was fine. It was an hour later and Chris told me he had some bad news. I was never happier to have paid a little extra for the oil change with inspection. They found my brakes were shot and the back ones werent working at all. After learning I had work in half an hour after the discovery, they offered to take me to and pick me up from work since it was a short shift. My brakes were fixed for a reasonable price and they were willing to work with me. Now I have a lifetime warranty for the brakes and a good place to go for auto work. Highly recommend this place for their maintenance staffs courtesy and knowledge and the front ends staff courtesy. It was like visiting family that you enjoy talking to.

I had already left a review, but do not see it here. I took my vehicle for a simple alternator change that should have taken a few hours. Also four weeks later and my car was still not available. They kept giving me different stories. They told me that they ordered a new ECM and how much it would cost. They told me the alternator blew through three batteries and ruined the ECM. They said I would need to pay for the ECM, but when I showed up to pick ip my ford escape, they didnt charge me for one and would not show me any paperwork (there was plenty that I could see, but the clipboard was snatched out of my hand). They stated that an ECM was not needed. I drive my car out to the street and it died right there!! I had it for 5 minutes. Back again it went into the shop. Owen stopped calling me and Glenn seemed confused about what was going on. I finally had enough and was leaving the country, so I had to have another company tow my vehicle. They refused for an hour to release the vehicle ( scrambling to make phone calls and calling Owen) saying that they were working on it. When they finally brought it down, my son in law was watching, it was evident that they werent “working” on it!! Glen stated that we would receive a refund since they did not fix the problem. I am still waiting for that refund!!I just got back into the country. My vehicle is still not working because the mechanic found out that they replace my ECM with an older model and wrong ECM!!! And they are unable to find one that fits my budget. I am so upset and disappointed. They fried my ECM and a brand new battery because they dont know how to change an alternator. What should have been an easy fix and average cost will now cost my thousands!! Do not go to the Oswego location! They lie!!I have a written statement from the new mechanic stating that there is no way that my vehicle would have functioned with the ECM that is in the vehicle right now. The vehicle is inoperable! Unfortunately for you, I have the text messages sent by you regarding the replacement of the ECM, yet later, you didnt charge me because you knew what you had done. Also, we witnessed the car being brought down by the lift. There was nothing to take out or put back together. My car was operable when I brought it in and had to be towed because YOU did not know what you were doing. How do you fry an ECM? Or three batteries or even the alternator?? If you know what you’re doing that is totally avoidable.

Great Experience! Had an oil change for my car two weeks ago (which was 1,000 miles overdue for one, oops!) and the employee working at the front desk was really courteous and took my car right away. I am a graduate student so the last thing I wanted was to spend an hour getting doing something other than studying. However, they were quick to do the job (~ 20 minutes total) and I was very satisfied! The waiting area is also clean (which you cant say about all auto-repair shops) and the location is very convenient for me. They get the job done!

I was extremely disappointed when I went in here. I had first gone in for a simple oil change and free car inspection and was very pleased with everything. So I went back again when I noticed my car was having some problems. I left not having my car as I was told it was unsafe to drive. Because I wasnt going to spend over half of the bill on labor alone I proceeded to tell them to not fix my car. Finding out they fixed my car, after being told not to touch it, I went ahead and paid the not so cheap bill. Two days later my car started up with the same problem I took it in for. I took it to another mechanic and was told half the things paid for that was fixed wasnt touched. My car is in a worse condition than it was when i took it into Tuffy. Extremely disappointed.

Made sure to schedule an appointment fist and once I came in we got greeted and taken care of for an oil change, filter change and a free inspection. Upon the inspection they told me I needed breaks and two new discs. We couldnt afford it but Tuffy was willing to negotiate and we came to an understanding. Ended up saving a great deal. Do not go here. The mechanic broke my TPMS and Owen, the manager refuse to have it fixed. They break things and want you to pay for them to fix what they broke.

My husband took our Chevy Impala there for an alignment. They didnt do the alignment and said they forgot to call him to tell him before he was supposed to pick it up. They then said he needed almost 3000$ worth of work. We took it to two other certified mechanics and they said we ONLY needed the alignment which was $59! They tried to rip my husband off! Every part they said we needed to be replaced was in excellent condition! UNREAL that this place would try to do this! I guess they werent banking on us having a clue!

I went to check my front and back brakes The day before I went to dealer for an oil change they said my brakes were very bad just for the front brake pads they wanted $300.00 no warranty on brake pads. They top my fluids and said everything else was fine. Tuffy checked my brakes said I didnt need back brakes they were fine. Needed front brakes they were cheaper and lifetime warranty on brake pads. They did the work drove me home,and job was done within a couple of hours. Very friendly staff.

Oil change took over an hour or so! I didnt like there scare tactics! Mechanic told me I needed over $1700 in repairs and that my vehicle was unsafe to drive trying to pressure me into paying for some very over priced repairs! I took my van to my usual shop and my mechanic laughed when I told him Tuffy said my tire could fall off! Unfortunately I didnt think it was funny I was so nervous driving home thinking my van was gonna break apart!! On top of that i requested that they please check my fluids and they did not! My coolant reservoir was almost empty! Thanks a lot Tuffy! Never going back to tuffy!!

I stopped by first thing in the morning to have a slow.leak looked at. Tuffys friendly staff was able to get me in within a half hour. They found a nail and repaired the tire. I was out in about 20 minutes. Great service and a friendly staff.

Dont go here its a waste of money! i brought my car here for an alignment and it took them 4 hours to do so. Once I got my car back it was still misaligned and on top of the my passenger window wouldnt work. I brought my car back to have them realign it and I watched my car the whole time and all they did was put it on the lift and let it sit there for 40 minutes and didnt even touch it. They told me they aligned it. The staff was very rude. Dont waste your time or money with these people

Came in with a coupon $21.99 for a change and rotation...After waiting 20 minutes, Owen tells me my car needs Full Synthetic oil and it would cost double the coupon. I asked if he could just charge me a little extra for the difference in oil...He tells me No specials, full price $50 plus tax...But offers free rotation...Despite the coupon, waiting 20 minutes, cars already on the lift, and it being my first time there...Nothing. He decided to blow the sale and I left dissappointed. Even my dealer has coupons, packages and specials on Oil Changes...Stick with what you know. Lesson learned.

I had trouble finding a shop that would be willing to work on my Porsche Cayman. However Tuffy Auto Service in Oswego performed several maintenance deficiencies on the vehicle and addressed all items triggering the check engine light. They worked with my after market insurance to obtain coverage on the items that are under my coverage. I had a good experience at this shop and will return if needed.

Although they have pretty good deals for an oil change, they sure as hell charge more, hiding all the surprises. Upon that they might promise you free tire rotation, but when you ask them about it, they reject it saying the vehicle is in very bad condition and they will have to change the front suspension easily charging you over $600. I told them that the bearings, axle, and the ball joint were changed 3 months ago. They still insisted on changing the parts otherwise would reject the free tire roation. When I told them I would rather just have the oil changed, the mechanic and the manager kept insisting to change the parts although I clearly showed them lack of interest in it. Then, when they got the car down from the ramps, they again started insisting that I better tow my car, otherwise my cars front wheels are gonna fall off and Ill not even make it past 1 mile(knowing that I stayed 7 miles from there). And then when I was finally making the payment, they shoot lots of surprise fees. $15.99 oil change ended up being $30.00 without the free tire roation and free wiper fluid fill up.Here Im 1 year later with 20000 miles on my car, and the front suspension still as new.

This locations management is atrocious they gave me an estimate on a worthless inspection for $2500 on my car. Tried to tell me things would explode on my car. Thankfully I know better but to someone who didn’t they could be paying thousands for no reason. DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!

Brought my 2004 Crossfire in for brakes. First time I didnt use a dealership in 13 years. Tuffy did an excellent job. Will be going there for service from now on.

There free 30 point inspection is a joke. They took my car in and held it for over an hour while I waited for them to do the 30 point inspection just to tell me that in order to tell me anything about my car that they needed to charge me $95. Hence why there is no such thing as a free inspection at this shop, they will only tell you what is wrong with your car if you pay them the $95 fee. I would not recommend business with them.

Spent $400 on an oil leak repair there.Week later, oil light comes on. I check the oil, Im completely low.I bring it to a different place, turns out tuffys didnt fix the leak at all.Dont bring it here, thy either have no idea what theyre doing, or theyre just a bunch of scam artists

Avoid the Tuffys in Oswego! We were told our car would be repaired in 4 hours max. Finally done over 7.5 hours later! The manager never apologized or took responsibility for their lack of communication or the delay. Go to Lockport. They have free loaners & quoted us almost $100 less when we called to compare services. The area manager told us he would reduce the bill by $50, but instead tried to give us $60 in Tuffy Dollars for their store when I had already told him we would never be back!

Was past due for my oil change so I stopped into Tuffys about 4pm after I got off work. They got me in pretty quick even tho I didn’t have an appointment. The explained that the oil change came with a free full inspection which I was surprised because I didn’t even know they were a full service shop... they actually took me out into the shop and showed me my car and everything that they had found during their inspection. Believe me I was not very happy when I saw everything that was wrong but what got to me most was that nowhere else I have ever gotten my oil changed had ever been that through and actually showed me. After that they sat down with me in an office in the back and discussed a “vehicle maintance” plan for me to get things fixed little by little over time as well as offered me several financing options and even an in house one they had then on top of that they gave me a loner car for me to use while they fixed mine. I will defiantly come back to tuffys to Finnish getting my Lexus fixed and would defiantly recommend Tuffy and ask for Amin he was probably the most honest and professional auto shop manager I have seen...

Worst place. I took my car there twice and had a bad experience both times. Last time they did not tighten the screw after changing the oil and it started leaking. I had to take it somewhere else to be fixed. 😡😡

Id like to start off by saying you get what you pay for here, plus some! I walked in knowing most my issues with my car. I have an oldie.. 93 Honda Accord. I was greeted with smiling happy faces. Amin, the new manager for Tuffys helped me from start to finish. I started off by telling him the long list of issues i had. First and most importantly i had starting issues that generally dont happen every time i tried to start it. #2 My muffler was so loud im sure ppl a mile away could hear me lol. #3 I was told by a friend that all my tie rods and ball joints were bad.. #4 as do most old cars i had a few oil leaks.. Amin smiled and said no worries we can address everything. He truly took my anxiety about it all right away. They were very busy that day and let me know right up front they would do all they could to look that day but if not it would be first thing monday. Instantly i panicked because of course i need a car to get to work.. Amin imedatly offered one of there loaner cars free of charge. Yay! And that ended up being the case. So for a whole weekend i got to play around in a cute little Hyundai.. Anyway by mid Monday Amin called with the dioagnostis.. I had a main relay issue and thats why it wouldnt start at times.. They had to try on and off all day just to get it to not start, but they were determined. #2 my muffler itself was in great shape it was just the flex pipe.. #3 my tie rods and ball joints were fine it was both my front control arms that were bad.. If i would have know that i would have came so much sooner as that so darn dangerous.. #4 my leaks were no where near as bad as i thought. They were coming from the valve cover gasket and the distributor seal. Even though i knew i had alot of issues i was still a litte overwhelmed naturally. From there i gave my husband the phone and let the guys do there shop talk and negotiations. I got my car back that Wednsday and I honestly feel im driving a whole diffrent car. I even got a free oil change because of a coupon i had. To Amin and all the guys at Tuffys i thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a beautiful honest group of people and i will never go anywhere else for my car needs. Thank You!.

STAY AWAY!!! There are too many other auto service providers available to lower your standards and take your car to Tuffys. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, on top of rude and unprofessional. From the moment I spoke with Enzo at the service counter, I knew I was in for an unpleasant experience. My appointment that I made two days prior was not in the computer. He proceeded to tell me he can try to squeeze me in like I was an inconvenience, while being short and not very pleasant. So I waited, 15 minutes went by until someone went to get my car, prior to which I could hear the mechanic complaining to Enzo because it was 2 minutes past 5:30 (apparently quitting time) At this point I was starting to wonder what kind of quick service I was in for because the mechanic was obviously ready to clock out. The mechanic found the OWNER (Owen) and complained who then came to tell me that they would be able to do the oil change, as if he was doing me a favor, and I would have to come back for the tire rotation. I said no thanks, how bout I take my keys and be done with this. Very unprofessional! Mechanic zipped my car back out of the garage. I got my keys and said I would not be back! I would recommend you not waste your time as well. Good luck!

This was a terrible experience. I would give negative stars if I could. I was out running errands. My daughter and I stopped to clean the car at the car wash and I looked over and said oh we can do our oil change now too look. I noticed the Tuffty. I said I am always in and out at oil changes 15 minutes top! Well an hour later I dont have my car despite me letting them know I had an appointment to get to. When I asked to get my car back they offered a loaner that didnt look like it would make it out of the parking lot it was in such bad shape. I asked to just get my car back. All of a sudden my oil had already been changed! I was forced to pay to get my car back. I had to go to a mechanic first thing this morning to repair on the now missing bolts on my brakes!!! While he was refusing to give me my car he continued to try and tell me all the things that were wrong with my car! So much for a simple oil change I left frustrated with a headache late and need of repairs because they took parts off my car!!!

I have had car trouble forever. Took my car to two different mechanics and had both work on my car. Service engine light stayed on. Even after the hundred dollar dignostic was run and they told me the car was fine. I took my car to Owen at Tuffys and they were able to actually repair the real problem. The light is finally off! The car runs like a dream now. They are great at Tuffys. Nice, friendly, reasonable, down to earth, and honest! My search for a mechanic is finally over. Thank you Tuffys!

I had a HORRIBLE experience at Tuffy in Oswego, IL and I will never return there for service on my vehicle. When I called to set up an appointment for a front AND rear alignment, everything was fine. I showed up at my scheduled time and they said it would be about 1 hour. I said great, I am going for a run outside and I will be back then. I came back from my run about 1:12 minutes later and sat down for 20 minutes. I then asked how much longer it would be and they couldnt tell me. I let them know my appt. was at 10 and they said it would be an hour and I have to be at work at 12:30pm. They said it would be done. A total of 2 hours later, no updates on the service, he took my car for a test drive and came back and parked out front of the store. When I went to pay, the cashier told me that there was a problem, we tried calling your phone and left a voice mail but didnt get a call back so we didnt do the rear alignment. I didnt have my phone on me on my run, but was sitting there for an additional hour and nobody told me anything. When I asked what the problem was, they stated that I would need a rear alignment. I said that was what I was there for, BOTH front AND rear alignments. They said they only did the front and I would need to come back for the rear. Basically wasted 2 hours of my time, made me late to work, and today when I got my total alignment done at a competent place, I come to find out that the front alignment was not done properly and was way off. How is that possible since last week. Glad I refused to pay Tuffy for their less than mediocre work. I think you need to reevaluate the people and type of work that they are doing and the customer service you have at this location. Did I mention that I went to leave and my battery was dead?! No issues before that day and this past weekend I found out it wasnt holding a charge at all anymore and I had to get a new battery courtesy of Tuffy, again making me late to work. My sister has also had a bad experience there and if I knew that prior to me going, I never would have gone, but after all the inconvenience this location provided me, I found a new shop that was friendly, had great communication, and fixed my car properly. I am not one to take time out of my day to type these at all, but after this and what I learned today, I figured that the management at Tuffy deserved to hear this so you can better improve your business. Worth noting the girl that cancelled my 2nd appt. could have cared less and actually sounded like she chuckled when I told her I didnt want to reschedule due to the bad experience and was quick to hang up instead of trying to keep my business.

Very bad service! Change oil special price 19,95$ but I pay 34$ because labor not included. Every station including this no? And when i check oil level it was very low before lane LOW. I tell mechanic that needs add quarter more, hes answer that it ok and hes cant add.

This guys dont want to change oil in my car only because I have my own oil... its not the best way to do the business...
