Chris and his team were quick to assist and complete my repairs. My serpentine belt snapped and the tension pulley was damaged. The repair was done same day and we were back on the road. Final bill included the tow and repair total. I will return with future repairs, since this was a positive experience.

We came into the Oswego location for warranty work to correct a repair that was made at another location.We previously had full brake and rotor replacement at another Bartels location. Immediately upon driving away from that shop the issues became immediately apparent. This location went out of their way deny the existence of any issues at all and to try to gas light me into believing that our was normal for the steering wheel to shake to the point the word keep on the steering wheel became blurry when breaking at highway speeds.However, the people who work at the Oswego location are of a different calibur.At the Oswego location they inspected the vehicle, acknowledged the issue and corrected it with out question on their very first attempt.I would not hesitate to bring any of my vehicles back to the Oswego location for service. They are competent, honest, accurate and fair. I can not say enough about all of the people I came in contact with at the Oswego location.I simply can not say the same for the other location.My advice is to be at ease taking youre vehicle to Bartels, but make the effort to drive to the Oswego location. They are the professionals

Weve used Bartels for many years and are incredibly thankful for Chris & Tyler today. We were about to get on I-88 to head northwest for our family vacation when our Check Engine light came on and the van was shaking. I called and talked to Chris who said to come in so they could check the code. So back to Oswego we went. True to his word, even though they were really busy, Chris had someone come out to the van...cylinder misfire so a diagnostic test needed. Chris pulled a mechanic off another job for the test...fuel injector pump needed. Both Chris and Tyler worked hard to get us back on the road less than 4 hours later. Thank you both for your help! You truly saved our vacation and we are forever grateful!

I truly believe these guys put all they could into trying to diagnose my Mazda 6, 2008 that had its engine light on. My main issue with the car was, the check engine light was on & it continued to show different diagnosis codes. The car was not functional either as it was shutting off at random times at red-lights. I think this company does care about their customers and provided well-rounded care however, I stand by: do not take your car here if you own a Mazda and are experiencing engine issues. I don’t believe they know how to properly work on this kind of car. A lot of the places in the area do not for more serious engine issues. Take it to a Mazda dealership, do not waste your time & money. These people helped me tremendously with working the best they could but towards the end of our experience with them their customer service was questionable. (I took my car 4-5 times in one month to them and continued to have issues with being stranded, engine light being on, and the car not working as it should). +they did not screw my wheel on correctly the first time which could have caused a major car accident.

They replaced my struts, did an oil change and replaced a belt. This is the first shop Ive been to in decades that I can trust 100% with my car! They are wonderful!

Very easy to use appointment setup online. They email very quickly and professional with reminders. Usually a busy business but they have a ton of skilled mechanics who go above and beyond. They go as far as to call and explain what issues they are seeing in real time in order to check in before charging for a service. All times of completion given have been either on time or before designated time. I enjoyed my experience with Bartel’s and will continue the service of my vehicle here.

I took my older car to Bartels. After I came back home after dropping my car off, I was informed by people that have went to Bartels, that taking a older car to Bartels is a joke, they will “fix” your problem, but later there’s another costly repair problem. If your car is older, don’t take it here, they will mess with other things to make you come back.

My experience was very professional. I was told from JL that it needed four rotors and pads. These guys took me back, let me see that all was fine with the pads and rotors and showed me the real problem. Needed axle work. Staff is always very friendly and I’m generally happy with my service. However, every time I get my car back my door is filthy and this time I even had to shampoo my passenger seat. I don’t want to be “one of those” people, but I don’t feel I should be getting my car back dirtier than when I left it- any other place I’ve been to has cleaned up after themselves.

My car broke down the night before. I had it towed to their business the night before and left them a voicemail to make an appointment. That same night one of the managers contacted me to let me know they would look at my car as soon as they could the next day. They contacted me early in the morning, let me know what needed to be fixed, and was able to fix my car that same day. They were very good with texting communication and also with phone calls. I greatly appreciate the quick service and response time

Austin and his crew did a great job repairing our vehicle. I needed the work done for a specific price and they hit that target, and even gave us a free loaner vehicle while they had ours. Ill be back at Bartels next time my vehicle needs maintenance or repairs.

I had the pleasure of working with the GM, Chris, from the Oswego location after having some repair work done in their other locations.Chris was great to work with as he provided timely updates on the repairs that my vehicle needed and even called the day after to ensure the vehicle was running smoothly.

Im way late in posting this, but wanted to make sure I did. I had an axle issue with my boat trailer. I had my trailer/boat towed into their shop and they replaced the axle for me. On top of that, they worked with me on calling around to different shops to get the best price on this axle.Most boat shops/marinas do not repair trailers, so this was truly helpful that they were able to do this for me. Couldnt be happier.

Hi. Just an FYI. It was my own risk coming in during the pandemic. The guy who waited on me at the front desk appeared off - he was sniffling with a runny nose, he was clammy in the face, he looked tired, pale and I could smell his breath through my mask. The smell was off as well. Im sure he was sick with either a cold or Covid I dont know which. But now 5 or six days later, I have a fever. I will probably have to go get tested now. The only place I went all week was Barthels. Im not upset, I took the risk. I just want you to know so if your employee is ill, he should not be at work.

They couldnt be nicer! My battery was dead and they came to my house and jumpstarted my car so I could get there. They are all polite, professional and went over every service coming up soon. All in all a great experience at a frustrating time. I will be bringing my car back to them for its next oil change.

They did a good job but their estimates are very over priced I was able to get a water pump job done for 800 bucks which is still expensive to charge but the sales rep was trying to charge 1500 originally, master technicians should never be quoted for a maximum time of 6hours for a component replacement. Sales representative should be more realistic in pricing and not just after commission.

They are always open and honest about what issues they find. I like how they texted pictures of the problem. They are professional, polite and ingenious. They have solved some weird problems for us over the years. I take all our vehicles here. I highly recommend Bartels, at least the Oswego location.

The guys here are very very professional and quite nice. They provide quality work and are transparent on what they are doing. They’ll even bring you in the workshop before and show you the part under the car that needs to be replaced/fixed. I would recommend.

I thought my wheel bearing needed replacement. After checking my car they determined the bearings were fine. The noise was caused by bent backing plates. They bent the plates back in position and the noise was gone. I am very impressed with their honesty and for not charging me to fix the problem.

I know a lot about cars and I know how to work on cars, but I was currently in the middle of working on my Sons car. So I decided to take my truck to Bartel’s. They did a good job on the service that I wanted them to do, but my only issue is the PRICES!!! They are EXTREMELY over priced. My truck needed a new oil pan and I already did the oil change on it, but they told me they had to do a oil change anyway since they were changing the pan, ok cool, but the cost was going to be over $500 bucks. We already priced the oil pan and that was only $40 bucks and to do the oil change the oil is $20 bucks ea. Plus the filter...So you mean to tell me labor is $400 bucks plus...That’s just outrageous. It’s unfortunate that places like this get over on people cause some people really don’t have the means, but need their car to get from A to B to make ends meet...Some car repair shops are no better than Doctor offices...Over Priced! But thank you for doing my tune up that cost over $450 bucks

I took my car to Bartels on 10/9/20, for a routine oil change. After they checked my car out, I was advised I needed new back shocks, engine flush, and radiator hose. They quoted over $900 for everything, but we agreed to $800 because I felt it necessary to fix these issues. I took my car back today due to having issues with a rusted license plate screw that broke off at the head and left both screws stuck. I removed the back panel and attempted to remove the broken screw myself, but was unable to. Bartels quoted $149 to remove the rusted plate screws! If theyre charging me this much to remove rusted license plate screws, I dont want to imagine how they overcharged me for the work they did in October.

Employee working at the front desk was very courteous and answered all of my questions. Received call of work they recommended in a timely manner. Work was done that same day. Tried out this place for the first time and liked it. I would probably return when more service is needed.

I went in for an alignment and they were really helpful. I have a modified car so it is lowered and they were still willing to do an alignment. the customer service is amazing. they were really willing to work with me. I had to leave my car all day there because they were extremely busy but they still made me fell important. they even gave me a ride home and were willing to pick me up when my car was ready for free. These guys are a class act. The cream of the crop!!! Our car broke down on the side of the highway and we got towed to Bartels 10 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. They went way way way out of their way to help get our young family back on our way...and did it all with smiles. When most people would have been grumbling or rude, these guys were super pleasant. They managed to find the problem, order the part and have it delivered the very next morning, a SUNDAY, and then proceeded to fix our car on (again) a SUNDAY to get us back on our road trip. WOW. You just dont hear of this kind of thing anymore. We hope this review will (in a small way) return the huge favor you guys did for us.

I have been going to Bartel’s for years, for several reasons.....respectable customer service, knowledgeable staff, they keep records of the maintenance on my car, free shuttle service when needed and most importantly, they DO NOT pressure me into any other services than what I went in to get. If I go for an oil change, they do an oil change and a “once over” on my car. They give me feedback on my car and let me decide if I want any further services without making me feel like my car will fall apart once I leave the parking lot. I am treated with respect. The maintenance on my car is top notch. Highly recommended!

Everybody that I talked to was very professional and was very helpful in getting my Jeep back. I called them at 3:30 pm and my Jeep was picked up and gone within an hour. I got a call first thing in the morning to let me know what was wrong and it was repaired by 3:00pm. Great service and staff.
