I highly recommend you go elsewhere. Its worth going to a major car company and paying more than to go through this experience. Couple things that took place: to charge me $27 more than the price I signed up for online and gave me a reason if addtl fees. Thats bogus. Was going to charge me for collusion insurance which I had declined unless I produced my insurance declaration. Luckily my insurance agent answered the phone when I called from the rental office and emailed them to me right away otherwise it would have cost another $100+. Lastly they charge $300 additional on my credit card to hold as a deposit. Im now waiting for the credit. That is the most unethical practice any car rental company should be doing. Next time I go to a major rental company and I pay the difference for the peace of mind. I didnt even mention the quality of the car.

I can only pray that people read the reviews before renting a car from this company. RUN! Do not walk and stay away from this place. I thought I was getting one the best deals around and I ended up paying double for the car. They had all these fees pop up outta nowhere that were nowhere in the website when I reserved the car. Stay away!! Reserved a van in February for a family vacation in May. Two day before the trip I was emailed that my reservation was cancelled due to system problems. Try finding a van in Orlando with 48 hours notice! Lady at the office was ignorant and hung up on us! This company is nothing but a scam. (Im sure they rented my vehicle at a higher price to somebody else.) Terrible customer service, even worse employees, avoid at all costs. Wont waste my time filing a complaint as they will be out of business soon enough.
Absolute dog water.... the lady behind the counter has a smooth brain. She made up some bogus thing about how I needed to produce some insurance papers. Nowhere on the booking did it say I needed to bring this piece of paper. She tried to then force me to buy their insurance for an extra $200. There was another customer there who had been waiting for her car for 3+ hours when they finally told her theyd sold it to someone else and she wasnt going to get a car. She probably wont get her money back either. Total absolute scam artists. Smooth brains . Dog water .
Do not rent from here. They literally cancelled our car rental while we were in mid flight. I called for pickup and this is how I found out. They stated that they were overbooked and they we booked from a 3rd party sight, which I did not and regardless if we did they should have told me that they were going to cancel when I called to confirm everything the day before. In their paperwork it states we have to give 48hrs notice or be charged a $35 cancellation fee. Well they only gave us a 30 minute notice (via email which I did not see til later that day) while leaving my family of 5 scrambling to figure out what we were going to do in a state we dont live in.
Absolutely the worst car rental experience in 30 years of renting cars. This is a scam.... they practically extort money from you by failing to follow existing contracts and adding on extra charges. With all the rental car options in the Orlando area theres no reason to rent your car from Value. We found the counter person to be rude, condescending and passive aggressive. (the shuttle driver and staff member who brings you your car were both friendly and pleasant.) We are contemplating legal action and making a report to the BBB. Stay away.... they will charge you more than your reservation contract says and force you to add on extras. Theyll offer to take you back to the airport if you dont let yourself be victimized.

If I could give them a NEGATIVE rating I would. TOTALLY DISREPUTABLE!!! I reserved a vehicle for May 26th on March 11th. I arrived at Orlando Airport on May 26th only to learn that Value Car Rental had CANCELED my reservation on THE PREVIOUS DAY with no explanation. The weekly rate I had reserved was for roughly $450 after taxes. The cheapest replacement 7 passenger vehicle I could rent was $1100. I found a competitor that rented a comparable vehicle for roughly $750 for the week. NEVER TRUST VALUE CAR RENTAL!!!!
We rented the car through DiscoverCars.com. We prepaid for our rental. After arriving at the airport, we called Value Car Rental and were told our rental was given away. We were told we only had 2 hours after our reservation time to pick up the vehicle, and we could not get a refund. So we were stuck at the airport. We had to rent a vehicle at the terminal for almost twice what we had paid.
Do not rent from here !! Upon arriving at Orlando airport was told our reservation had expired. They would rent us the same car. But for twice the price. Make sure to rent from a reputable company not one that does a bait and switch!! If I could give them a negative 10 rating, I would!
I picked up a vehicle on 12/5/2020. My insurance company was closed. I needed to get updated information from State Farm. The lady said her name is “Wed”. She wouldn’t give me her last name that works for Value Rental car. She charged me the full amount for insurance coverage after saying once I brought the vehicle back. She also checked the mileage and had. She tells me that the gas tank isn’t on full.I called several times during the weekend no answer, to inform her that the rental charger plugs didn’t work.She talked so bad about the driver while he had customers with him.Also on arrival she cursed out a family before us.She’s very rude, her manners and her demeanor needs better customer service. I also sent an email to the complaint department and never heard back from anyone.

Went to Orlando for a family vacation. Rented a car with Value Rental.Mari was the manager on duty. She was so engaging and was very helpful! She guided me through the process and had me on my way in no time.They didn’t have my car ready but Mari took great care of me! She upgraded the vehicle at no additional cost.If you’re going to need a rental and in the Orlando area, you should look them up! Tell Mari the lady from Atlanta sent you!😉
We have a reservation thru a website autorentals.com they give us a nice rate we did the reservation at the time of pickup the car, they stated that because we have a PR license we need to take their insurance we give them the insurance from the credit card, and they keep asking for my insurance company in PR, this was a sunday afternoon, we have no communciation with my insurance company in sunday, we were left at the place with no car with no transportation also the service was pretty bad, they are very prejudice because we were latins, guest what my money is the same as yours and you should show a little respect with us citizens and dont mistreat your own kind. The worst service received in one single place, never rent from this people are the worst.

Stay away or you will be screwed!Holiday cars sold me a rental car booking on 11/16/20 stating I paid in full (minus a small amount to be paid in person) as all fees were included, but when I went to pick up the rental car from Value Cars on 12/6/20 I was forced to pay an additional non-avoidable $35.91 RSA fee for roadside assistance which I did not agree to in order for them to release the car.AND on 1/20/21 they charged my card more fees! For toll charges, I didnt even go through the toll booth! TOTAL BS!
If you want to save money, you can save here. You just have to know what options youre looking for, and ask the right questions. They want to make sure your rental goes as smoothly as possible and that you are covered in every situation. My experience with customer service was great. They wlked me through the options and being an experienced renter, I got exactly what I came for at the right price. The guys were very accommodating and changed cars for no charge when my kids had a problem with it.
I did not appreciate being charged an extra $30 (which is a lot for an hour) for being one hour later than the time they suggested for the shuttle to the airport. We already had an issue with a flight change for later that day so this car rental was a hassle and I will not be using them again.
Please, please, please read these reviews before you rent a car from this place! I wish I had!! This is the worst rental experience ever. First they rented me a vehicle with over 75,000 miles. The brakes were scrubbing, seat belt didnt work, and the horn didnt work. I dont know what else to say other than pay your life insurance up because you may need it!!
I reserved on line and there was no mention that if you didnt have a credit card with you, you had to purchase their $150 insurance. So, I didnt bring my credit card which I never use. They offer a shuttle from the airport but dont plan on leaving too early or you have to take a cab or alt transport. The shuttle driver was really nice but the rest of the experience stunk. I would suggest going to a known company. Dont make my mistake.
This company is a scam. Called and and cancel whithin the cacellation window, because I couldnot find the location but they still charge me regardless. I should have read Google reviews before paying, I dont know how they are still in business.
Horrible business. Customer service is a joke. They cancelled my rental car & gave it away although I contacted them my flight changed & I would be a half hour outside their ridiculous 2 hour window. No one would help me. Left us stranded at the airport to get a rental car at extremely inflated prices and huge crowds. I secured my vehicle with them in January 2021. I had to dish out over $600 for the rental. Disgusting.

I was picked up quickly from the airport. Maritza helped me get my rental car. I had my own car insurance papers and she helped me while I located the proof of collision liability. She was very easy to work with - she explained my upgrade options but allowed me to make decisions without feeling pressured. The car was a very basic model which worked fine for this trip. However, next time I will ask for cruise control if available.
My actual rental experience was okay. Kudos to the employee that prepd the car prior to my rental and received my car during my return. He even drove me and others to the airport. Be careful though - the on-line quote did not include all fees. My complaint is an undocumented toll charge of $26.74, $1.74 for the toll and $25 service fee. I had a Sunpass transponder in the car and checked that all the routes I drove accepted Sunpass. I received invoices from Sunpass for the toll charges. After three phone calls to Customer Service I told them I would pay the toll charge if they would forward the invoice from Sunpass to verify the charge. Three phone calls and no invoice and no response. I have to assume this was a bogus charge to collect an additional $26.74. Will not do business with Value again.

I didn’t realize we had to go elsewhere to get the car, so that part was my fault. Lady was not helpful on the phone. When we arrived at the holiday inn, she said to my face that I was being rude. She was terribly rude from start to finish.....shuttle drivers were courteous and friendly. Car was fine. There are extra fees charged upon arrival.
I rented a car here for 2 weeks. The car was fine and the price was cheap.The receptionist when I picked up the car was very rude.When I dropped off the car I accidentally left my phone mount in the car attached to the windshield.I did not leave the car unlocked.I called an hour later and they said it was not in the car. I went and saw for myself.I spoke to the guy who cleaned the car. He is a friendly guy and I trust he didnt steal my phone mount.Someone, though, did. Value rent a car refuses to do anything about it. I think some other person ( not the car rental place ) stole it when they werent looking, but I feel they should still refund me for my loss.
Do not use this company! Full size car reserved but none available. Tried to substitute “an upgrade” for a smaller car with a very small SUV. Car inventory is almost non-existence. Based on reviews, they will be out of business SOON!!
I was given a car with 75,000 miles on it in very unsafe conditions. The tires were worn out and I had to keep putting air in them after every short trip. The wiper blades were shot, which meant I couldn’t drive in the rain (it rains daily in Florida). When I took the car back early, the lady at the desk neither acknowledged my concerns nor did she apologize for my poor experience and potentially hazardous driving conditions. I will be looking into Florida law as it relates to renting vehicles in unsafe conditions. STAY AWAY from this place, they don’t care if you die!
It was a smooth and rapid car rental experience. The staff was great. They picked me up at the airport quickly and had me in a car in record time for Orlando. If you understand the requirements BEFORE you arrive it is much easier. I rent cars in Orlando almost every month. Its one of the best value cars in the city. Please plan for your rental car pickup. Understand how you get to the pickup point at the airport. Know how to call them to pick you up. Have a major credit card or be prepared for large deposits. Have your full coverage or credit card rental car insurance to show. Dont drive on the toll roads without a pass (no way to pay cash). Most of all, if you have a bad flight - breath and remind yourself that in a few hours you will be on vacation and BE NICE. I will definitely rent with them again if they remain the most competitive price. I would think hard about renting with them if they are NOT the cheapest but some of the others (with worse service times) are. This business should have more stars, but some people cant separate the value from their stressful travel experience, lack of planning (it takes 2 minutes to travel 1 mile in Orlando), or poor understanding of what docs you need and the process to get to the rental car place from the airport.JAN 20. Rented again and I stand by my previous post. I just turned the car in and Thomas was awesome. I asked to change for my flight and repack some things before I picked up my receipt. Thomas said Sure, Ill let them know at the desk. Then he brought me my receipt while I was repacking my bags after I changed for the flight. I REALLY like renting from this company. Sure the cars have some miles on them. BUT, I paid $100 for 7 x 24 hour days. Dont rate them low because YOU choose the cheapest car. YOU get more than the car ; you get FINE service. Just understand how car rentals in FL and Orlando work. I will never rent a car from them again. They price you sign up for us not the price you end up paying. So many hidden fees!!! A car that we thought was going to be $100 ended up being almost $300. The rental place is off site of the airport, so you can’t even go find a better, reputable car rental to rent from when you find out you are getting scammed. The person driving didn’t wear a mask, and the person doing our paperwork was dishonest about the tolls. Horrible experience!

I had a great experience here! It was my first time renting a car and they were speedy, kind, and did not take advantage of my lack of experience. They even upgraded my car to a nicer one upon arrival.Shuttles - They picked me up promptly from the airport. I got lost and they gave me a call and helped me get to the shuttle as well! I got in late as well and they were able to pick me up. On my return home, I was able to take the hotel shuttle back and everything was on time!Communication - They were kind and helpful on the phone!Fees - When I asked, they explained all of the fees. There is a daily fee that adds a few bucks, the option to choose the sun pass for a few more bucks ( I denied it and saved money by using quarters on the tolls), and there would have been a fee for insurance. However, I had my insurance paperwork prepared beforehand and did not have to purchase additional insurance as mine was sufficient. You just need to call ahead and find out what they require and you can avoid it. Most people’s capital one credit cards give you travel insurance anyway.Deposit - They put a pending charge on my card that included the total for the card and the deposit. However, the pending charge was removed and ONLY what I owed for the card was charged on the next business day. It went through quicker than I thought and I had no lingering fees.Overall great experience. If I didn’t have the proper insurance, I might go to a larger establishment to rent a car because they have insurance included, but of course they are more expensive.

I had no problem with my rental. They picked me up from airport within a few minutes from my arrival and drove to Holiday Inn where they have their office and I picked up a almost new car. No problem with delivery and it has been a month and I still have no problems. Will be renting again when I go next month.
DONT DO IT. You may be tempted by an initial low fare, but there is a ZERO probability I will ever in my lifetime do business with this rip off swank joint again. Nice low weekly rate, but get to the counter and theres a ton of charges theyll slam you with after you get there. If youre a Florida resident in need of rental, just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Youre gonna pay more, more money over their mileage limit. Expect to pay a huge $$$ deposit. Expect to pay insurance andunusual fees. Typical low-end take all your money for every little thing business. ZERO VALUE. The only reason Id give them a single star, is the nice ladies behind the counter, at least showed some compassion and understood my frustration. If I were them Id get out. Theres plenty of honest, fair companies out there that want to delight their customers. BLEH.

After Id signed the rental agreement digitally, but was not permitted to read it, they told me there was an extra $28 in charges. They told me the charges were mandatory. They were not disclosed when I made the reservation and they were in excess of the reservation amount. It was simply a bait and switch scam. Avoid these ripoff artists.

Company continuously tried to add on extra fees upon check in, even refusing to honor a confirmation from an online reservation and requiring proof of insurance. Rental vehicle had many scratches that representative did not document unless we noticed it and asked for it to be documented. After the lengthy and seedy check in, this seemed like another attempt to try and get extra money from the customer. We will not be using this company ever again.

We had a great experience here. I know there are a lot of bad reviews, like most of the car rental places in Orlando, however if you make sure you have your ducks in a row, youll be fine. We reserved a rental from their direct website. Have your Car Insurance declarations sheet that shows rentals are covered. Be sure to carry lots of quarters with you and use cash lanes if you opt out of their toll package. Be sure to take pics of the car before you leave the lot. Take care of the car while you have it - dont smoke, dont bang anything, etc. LOL And be sure to read the Terms and Conditions and ask questions before renting. All of this goes with any rental place.Im leaving 5 stars because of the friendly customer service by phone before arrival and the rep when we arrived. Shuttle buses were convenient and prompt. The price was amazing. It was a smooth transaction. We were given a 2019 Toyota Corolla with only 8K miles on it that was amazing on gas. We will surely return next time we visit Orlando.
It looks like I had the same experience as everyone else here. Reserved for $100, showed up, and found out it was going to be at LEAST $300 to walk out with the car. Complete scam. I cancelled and reserved a car at another company, because the last thing I wanted to do is give these clowns any money.
Well originally we though we were getting a great deal. Then, we showed up and were hit with a bill over 3 times what our voucher said. Due to service charges and required collision even though we have great insurance. These hidden fees were a shocking way to start our vacation.
I rented from their website about ten days in advance. Granted it was not at the height of the travel season in late September. I had my insurance documentation in hand prior. I talked to my insurance agent prior and validated that I would be covered by my personal policy. I knew that you could pay cash at the toll plaza. The entire process went smooth as it took 10 min to have the shuttle pick me up at the airport and I was returned promptly by the hotel shuttle on the way back I received the car I expected. I was able to refuse the insurance and sun pass. I used the car without damaging it. I returned it with more fuel than needed and I cleaned it up a bit and removed debris and shook out the mats. No problems and deposit was returned and paid what was agreed. You have to know what you are buying by doing some homework in advance. Do not blame the rental agency from offering coverage. They are only trying to protect their car and cover loss if you or someone damages it. If they offer you extra insurance and a sun pass and you say yes and don’t need it, that will not be the first and only time in Orlando where you will make a purchase that will cost you a few dollars. Just think of paying $5 for a water at a park. Also a good idea is take a video while they are inspecting the car as you pick it up to have proof of condition. You never get a copy of the damage sheet when you leave. Rental cars suffer incredible damage in a short time so pay attention to dents and parts that are falling off and make note of them even if they are smaller than what they consider as damage. It is important that you cover yourself. I will rent here again and was satisfied with the transaction. All of the staff was kind and it was evident that they we’re short handed. It does take time to rent and return a car and I would rather do it off site than wait in the long lines at the airport and pay more to do so.Value car rental may be a little different than what the traditional rentals are but they met my needs perfectly.
NON US RESIDENTS READ THIS. They charged a mandatory insurance when we got to the counter. It doesnt matter if you have the coverage through your provider. The basic was $130 USD. Absolutely outrageous. Do not recommend to anyone.
Staff was great. I was picked up 10 min after i called. We read all the fine print and had all are paperwork in order like proof of insurance and a credit card to cover the deposit. Car was clean new. Turning in the car was just as easy. My family and i will be using them again when we come back to orlando....if you use value just make sure you read everything and have the proper paperwork and it will go smoothly. Our experience was very good. Use a credit card that has rental insurance and provide your personal car insurance (full coverage) then you can decline their insurance. Saves you a lot of money! People were nice and the car was new and in great shape. We used the Holliday Inn shuttle because they are prompt.

Please read fine print before renting with this company They charged us over $120 US extra at time of pick up and we were told we could not rent car without paying it - unless we provided our personal car insurance proving we were insured for car rentals. I have never heard of this and we have traveled quite a bit. They did not accept the fact that our credit cards had extra car insurance protection. Apparently it was in the fine print. Fool me once....I forgot to add that we waited for an hour at the airport as we were supposed to have called them when we arrived. They are situated quite a distance away. We paid more than we would have with most other companies and it was inconvenient as well as sneaky.
The front counter person was great. My wifes mother pass away unexpectedly and we had to leave one day early and no refund or credit was given. Very disappointing

I CALLED ONCE AGAIN TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE TIRE REPLACEMENT CHARGE AND THEY STATED, YOU SHOULD BE SAFE EVEN THOUGH THE DONUT WAS RATED OF ONLY 55 MPH FOR A TOTAL OF 50 MILES. WE STILL HAD A 500+ MILE ROAD TRIP. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!
SCAM! I did not use their service. I booked a economy car with them and after reading the fine print I called as asked about the additional fees not included in the advertised price. They advertised a great price about $11 a day, after calling they said there is an additional $21 A DAY in fees. SO my $75 rental went up to over $230. I canceled it. Got a newer compact car from Dollar for only $200.75 and they are on site at the airport. No shuttle. Dont be fooled.

We had a reservation and our flight was delayed 2.5 hours, something that we can not control and at check in they told us once you’re passed your pick up time and if you’re two hours late the computer system kicks your reservation out and then you’re considered a no show and your reservation is up for grabs by other customers.That is not fair to the customer! There is a reason you reserve ahead of time, it’s so that you can have a car upon arrival, it should not matter when you pick it up since you’ve already reserved and paid for it. They didn’t have our car because they’re now rented it to someone else and had to give us a other car (suv) for an additional $15/day which should of been free because I had a reservation! On the sales receipt there are so many other charges, they will find anything to charge you for extra money! Our total rental came out to be $547+ which is NOT a VALUE at all. The rental costed more than my flight and hotel all together! I’ve rented from other places and have had better customer service than this place and way more cheaper. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VALUE CAR RENTAL! This place is not worth your money! Sadly we live and learn!
I mean it is ok, they lower their cost by servicing out of a tiny office in a hotel, that is fine. But, my final price was higher than online and no longer cheaper than major brands, and secondly, the car had a vibrating wheel problem (probably out of balance tire). It started on my way to Miami and I had no time to go back, so I had to endure it during the entire trip.
Expect a $50 extra fee from what you agreed to online. They say this fee is to cover them being offsite from the airport. I rent cars all the time and never heard of this. Fighting through my credit card company for the simple fact that I didn’t agree to this charge when I reserved. Car smelled like smoke and had dents all over it.

I probably shouldve checked the ratings on this place before I purchased, but it is easily the worst experience I had renting a car. Car smelled terrible, made it difficult to breathe with the windows up. Offered a smaller vehicle as my only option.
Pick up from airport was prompt. Pick up of car the salesman went on and on trying to up-sale us, annoying! Than tried to offer us a small car when we reserved a “late model” Camry or comparable. They gave us an OLDER impala.A late model car is a car which has been recently designed or manufactured, often the latest model.After arrive to our destination 1.5 hours away we noticed the tires had very little tread and when we needed the windshield wipers they were old and didn’t wipe glass clean. Safety issues here!!!The car was falling apart in short.BTW gas stations nearest return are 2$ to 2.50$ more a gallon same price rental company charges $5.99 gal. One block up gas is normal price around 2.50 gal.We were running late so we had to pay the 5.99 fee. Higher rate than most rental companies.Not such a Value when said and done should have done my research before booking with this company.
Vehicle worked fine, was clean and got me where I needed to go. However, I feel I was taken advantage of after paying about $250 as a reservation, I was forced to get the insurance coverage and had to pay an additional $400 out of pocket instead of the other half of the listed $250. I honestly could have purchased a new vehicle at that rate. I was told it was because I went through a third party. Definitely wont go through this company again, very shady service imo.
I rented from value rent a car for the week of 2/8/2014-2/15/2014. On the morning of the 15th the car wouldnt start and made clicking noises and I was unsure if the battery was dead. I promptly called value to let them know and if they could be of assistance.They immediately blamed it on me and said they would have to charge me to come out as i probably had left the lights on. I was able to flag someone down who helped to attempt to jump the car but it still wouldnt start. At this point i called them back and asked how we should proceed so they get the car and we can get to the airport in time. They stated that they wouldnt be able to get us in time to guarantee wed make our flight and to leave the keys under the visor.After a good Samaritans transportation and getting on our flights we were notified that the tow truck driver was able to start the car and i would be charged a fee. I was charged $226.47 more than the $250 rental fee i was expecting when booking my trip. Thats not including the stressful morning on the last day and cost of alternative transport to the airport. I understand from the businesss prospective a tow-truck isnt free but it isnt my responsibility to maintain their rental fleet.I also called them after the fact and explained the situation twice before calling my credit card company to dispute the charge. I have never had to do this before in the past and would recommend renting from another company if at all possible.
NO NO NO NO, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE.I gave them one star only because I could not rate them zero stars. I got a confirmation that showed a total rental cost of $82. After my husband dropped me off and headed to the Fort Wilderness Campground they presented me with a total cost of almost $104. I was told the price on my confirmation was a “range”. I was leary of such a good price from a name I did not recognize. Should have listened to my intuition!
I loved this rental place. The lady up front was SUPER nice and helpful! We couldnt find the name of our other rental company and offered to meet the price of our current rental. We ended up figuring it out, but only with her help. This was the easiest and cheapest car rental place I have ever went through. The car was cheap, the insurance was cheap, and it was a clean and nice car. These people care and will take care of you!
Terrible service. Arrived lady working the desk was being very sketchy trying to add on additional. I told her I had my own insurance and did not need the sunpass. Get out side tried to find the paperwork that was shut in the glove box by them. Showed she added collision on that was an additional $21 a day. Went back in said I think there is an issue I do not need the collision, she removed the extra items. Bring the vehicle back was told the shuttle would be here at 6pm. I went in side asked do I need to get on the silver holiday in bus or the value car shuttle and was told the value car bus. 30 min pass I go in he now says we missed it and it would be another 30 min. I ask the holiday in security guard which bus he tells me they use the silver holiday in bus. Basically wasting an hr of time luckily I arrived early enough I am not going to miss my plane. Would never recommend them. And will willingly pay more money to never deal with them again. Also their fees are higher so my booking of 244 became 257
I did have any issues with Value rent a car.I rented a Ford Fiesta.It was a little older 65,000 kms in it.We didnt need extra insurance . I had my own.Unlimited mileage within the state of Florida.It took us where we needed.I had to pay for gas at end because I used about 2 gallons from my condo to drop off.No biggie but their per gallon rate is 5.90 where everywhere else was 2.29 per gallon. .Otherwise. ..Shuttles run every half hour from the hotel.I will use again...Very affordable. .Liz was great as were the shuttle drivers
Where to start...1. My biggest complaint is with their insurance scam. We declined the Value insurance because we have full coverage. They required our Allstate binder be faxed to them. I have NEVER had that be required before. Thankfully it was during business hours and our Allstate agent sent it right over.2. They did not allow me to use my debit card as a form of payment. It’s a MasterCard but they said they couldn’t allow it. It was my only form of payment. They also wouldn’t allow my husband’s American Express Platinum card because his name was not on the contract. Ridiculous!!!! So we are standing their with TWO major CC form of payment and she wouldn’t take either. Value’s solution: she would accept my debit card IF I added their insurance. That is a SCAM! Or...they’d accept my husbands AmEx IF we added him as a driver (even though he was renting his own car- we rented 2 cars and Value he’d their ground). So we ended up paying an extra $80 to add him to my car just so she’d take his payment. Crazy!3. They are behind the cutting edge of car rentals and actually did the walk-around inspection looking for dents and dings. [eye roll]. Take a cue from Hertz and just rent me the car!4. The checkout process took 35 minutes. Longer than any other rental I’ve previously done. And we were the only ones in there. No need for more than 10-15 minutes.5. We also got nailed for $8 per day for toll pass. Is wasn’t needed and Budget’s fee was $3 / day in Orlando.6. The closet still under construction that they operate out of is less than professional.7. I read reviews complaining about the shuttle process. I must say we were picked up within 15 when I called for shuttle.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. DO NOT DO IT. JUST SPEND THE EXTRA $2 A DAY ON A BETTER COMPANY.Upon arriving to Orlando I called them for more info. I got hung up on because she says she couldnt hear me. (Their phone is apparently messed up. This wasnt the only time they said they could not hear me and hung up. I had full bars and it was multiple locations. It is their phone, not me, promise.)Their shuttle is one guy who goes back and forth. Took 45 minutes to finally get to their Holiday Inn location.The insurance fees doubled the cost, but Florida is a no-fault state so thats to be expected.Here is the kicker though, WE GOT KICKED OFF THE SHUTTLE TO THE AIRPORT IN THE MORNING. The Holiday Inn theyre located at is apparently where all the flight staff stays. Our party of 4 made it on and got seated. But two airline staff didnt want to stand so they got off. The driver then came back on, KICKED US OFF AND CALLED A CAB WHICH WE HAD TO PAY FOR.I called to complain but they couldnt hear me again and hung up on me. When I called back they didnt answer.Worst rental company in the history of rental companies. Please look at other options.
I was overcharged for a rental in February 2020. I tried contacting them repeatedly and was never written back. I would not recommend this company.
Just for reference, my reservation was today 6/29.I Echo what the others say. I booked my reservation online with a total of $116 including all fees. I arrived and had to wait almost an hour for the shuttle. I arrived at the rental car office, and immediately regretted it. The attendant tried to add the rental car coverage, and I refused. He looked shocked and asked what i planned to do. Anyways with the declined coverage he asked for a $300 deposit, sure fine. My total came to $442?? I asked about the extra $26 and he told me it was additional fees. When grilled further he told me it was roadside assistance for $26. He claimed it was mandatory, which it isnt. Long story short, I hopped a shuttle to the airport and rented from a reputable company. I usually dont leave reviews but this company is trying to scam unsuspecting customers. Beware, the price was great, but it isnt worth the headache or the deceit. The acts are intentional, and not honest mistakes.
OK - Good Value prices. Staff is pleasant and helpful, also doing their job. But if you cant say no or you cant negotiate, do not rent from value car rental. An upsell of insurance, road side assistance, toll booth readers, etc were either automatically added at check out or sold HARD! I needed to provide proof of insurance by emailing docs or providing hard copies. Had to decline several efforts on insurance, RSA was added automatically, took 5 minutes to get it off. Anyhow, by the time I left, I was afraid to drive the car bc of all the threats. Was charged for an extra day because the whole closeout process took time even though I had the car back by it due time. The staff did credit it back but I didnt know it until i reviewed my statement after the vacation. Anyhow, these types of companies make their money on the upsell, be ready for it.
The advertisement for Value Car Rental led me to believe they were located at the terminal. A shuttle arrived promptly after a phone call. I was taken to a Holiday Inn where Value is located. The car must be returned to this site. The Value Car representative gave me a hard sales pitch for a $7.00 a day coverage for tolls that only he could offer. I am not from Florida and did not know what to expect in this regard. I found out this could be taken care of at most or all supermarkets for a nominal cost. I was given a very nice Hyundai to which I had no problems and was excellent on the gas. However, upon receiving the car I inspected it, including the gas level. After driving about five miles I looked at the gas level again to find I was driving on empty with the gas light on. Within an hour or so I called Value and informed them of the situation. Anyway, even though it was only $13 added to my account for the gas it still bothers me they wouldnt correct the problem.
Signed up for a sedan and got a minivan. Perfect for a family of 5. I am always a little skeptical renting from these lesser known rental car companies but the savings are tremendous. Compared to National, I saved over $200.Their location was a short 5 minute ride to an airport Holiday Inn. Overall, the service and vehicle worked out great. I will definatley rent here again!
I wish I didn’t even have to pick a star. This place was a total scam and they know how to work the tourists!!!! I booked them from Kayak app and my total was 118.00 for the week and it already had on fees. I was so happy with my great deal. We grabbed the car, the worker was asking my questions like... is your husband going to drive this car? Do you want basic or premium insurance? Will you take a toll road? He was very short and never explained anything. It was a longgg two hour flight at 8 pm with a 1 year old and I was just answering the questions. We walked out. Handed us the keys. Then handed my husband our contact. Our contact said 400 dollars!!! 400 to 118 ?! He charged us for letting my husband drive ($60) but he would be the only one driving. They charged us 170 for insurance but we already have rental car insurance and he tried to charge us for toll roads, which we wouldn’t be taking. I went back and explained to him my confusion about our bill difference. He was just trying to get me to calm down and wanted to speak with my husband. By this time my daughter was tired and Hungry and we needed to help her. I called back the next day to show my car insurance and fix thing. Of course I couldn’t. The lady on the phone put me on hold 4 times and acted like she was reading a speech. As if she told tourist this a million times. My family was one of the stupid tourist who lost a lot of money to a couple who knows how to take your money. Never again will I rent from them. NEVER. Don’t answer their questions without explanation.
Do not rent a car from this company unless you want to ruin your vacation. They provided us with a vehicle that broke down within 48 hours and then offered no assistance in getting the vehicle back to their office. We had to pay for a tow out of pocket when they refused to help us and were then charged for a full week of rental. Their corporate office will do nothing to assist and claimed the vehicle was fine. It was not. We attempted to jump the vehicle before getting it towed back. Their corporate office reports this vehicle is back on the road. Meanwhile, weve been charged an exorbitant amount of money for a vehicle we couldnt use and extra costs for tow, getting around without a rental, etc., not to mention time spent disputing charges and disrupting our vacation in a very negative way. Do not use this company. You will regret it. Their business model is one of terrible customer service, taking no responsibility, and making a quick profit over building a loyal customer base. Proceed with great caution.
The car was super cheap but so was the rental so that is to be expected. Everything worked out great, had no issues. The only reason for the low stars is they tried to scam me into buying their toll pass saying there were tolls all over even on the route I was going after showing them. I did some research to find they were lying so I didnt get it but they blatenly lied to me to make money.
This business does not even deserve one star. Do not, under any circumstances use this rental car company. The booking apps advertise them as a low price but they find ways to scam 5 times as much money out of you as you originally are quoted. My original booking was around $230 for 10 days for an economy car and I walked away with a finished contract, returned the car in perfect condition still paying $339. I get on my flight home and two days later they took $960 more dollars off of my credit card and now I’ve had to get the state attorney after them. Do not use this company, I wish I checked the reviews before I did.
These people are actual scam artists. I wish the police would open an investigation for blatant fraudulent practices. Maybe if enough of us complain ? Put these criminals out of business
I have a good experience, they give me upgrade for a few dollars more, you have to call for pick up but is not a problem she dont lie to me it was exactly what they said just I recommend put attention always asking they have other option for you
TERRIBLE SERVICE..DO NOT RENT...SCAM..SCAM...Agent refused to accept my credit card insurance coverage..said I must buy his insurance or provide my personal car insurance policy. VERY RUDE..refused to rent me the car and ASKED ME TO GET OF OF THE OFFICE in front of my 8 year old son who was crying at this point...I went to another rental company- SIXT..best service ever..tried to get charge reversed..Agent lied that my behavior at the desk was not acceptable to them, i.e. I cursed at the rental agent. I would rate this zero star but I have to select 1. This was a third party rental from CARTRAWLER..They declined my request for a refund and sided with the agent. Costly mistake, did not check the reviews.
This place is a rip off. When you booked it online, you get a different price when you get there, they add another hundred bucks saying resort fee and other things. They are said they will pick you up and drop you off, but they don’t. They make you go to the hotel and get a ride from them. Don’t get the toll road transponder. They will push you to get it. Just say no. NEVER GO HERE.
If you like cars with sticky door panels, dirty windows, squeaky blower fans, doors that say they aren’t closed but are and out of balance vibrating tires this is the place. Oh and a six year old car
The Value Car Rental in the Orlando location (housed at the Holiday Inn on T G Lee Blvd). Here is what we experienced on Feb 20/20 when we arrived to pick up our car.We provided ALL the required documentation to the clerk who subsequently stated we had to pay more money than what we had agreed to in the already paid contract. We showed her our contract voucher and she conveniently ignored it stating we owed more money. We refused to pay it. She then pushed the Toll Transponder rental on us but we refused that too. She said that US toll booths no longer accept cash ... only toll transponders would work. We told her she was outright lying to us. She didnt take that very well. She told us our insurance wasnt valid - we produced a letter authenticating our coverage from our Insurance company. She said it didnt disclose enough information about what was covered. Now, she wanted us tp pay their insurance daily rate. We refused. She said we didnt have insurance despite our proving to her we did .. we argued with her that we had ALL the documentation that the website said we needed to satisfy the contract .. she decided not to argue with us. In the end, she added an additional $81 USD to our bill for road and airport taxes. We told her to remove it .. she said she couldnt as that was extra that the online contract didnt seem to add for some reason. We told her we would not pay it so she decided to remove the roadside assistance from our rental to make up for the shortfall of $81 she insisted we owed her .. we showed her our voucher that clearly stated we had roadside assistance and our contract covered all the road taxes and airport taxes she said this extra charge covered! We showed her our voucher that clearly state ALL of those fees were included in our contract! She said ... not now they arent. She blacked out the telephone number on the pamphlet for roadside assistance and said, if you dont pay the extra, we cant provide you with roadside assistance. We were totally fine with that because we knew that Visa would provide that necessity if we needed it. Believe me, she was a caution to deal with .. we finally got our car but man, it took almost 1.5 hours to fight our way into the drivers seat. Never again, Value Car Rental!! You wont get our business and we hope nobody elses. If youre already locked in .. good luck. Hold your ground with this woman/company and say NO!!! Go prepared and bring a letter from your own insurance company to PROVE that you have the required insurance documentation to drive in Florida!!! Say no to everything else shes trying to sell you! I hope she is able to sleep at night!

Booked a car to rental through these guys. Said they could pick us up 15 mins after they opened at 8 when they opened. Waited for an hour while calling up to 10 times with no answer. First bad review ever, thats saying something. Use someone else.
They deserve Zero star. Bad experience I had with them. First, they wanted to gave me a compact car but my reservation paper showed a mid-size car. Second, They rejected the insurance I brought with me. They wanted to purchase their insurance without any reason. Hidden fees will come to your final bill and you will not know :(. Avoid this place and this company as possible.
I wish I would have read reviews before renting with this company. $187 rental went to $400 real quick with their add ons. Please take your insurance Dec page with you on vacation to avoid purchasing their pricey insurance. If thats their policy,fine, but they should have been up front about it. Who takes that on vacation with them? Ive rented several cars in past and never had to provide that. With that being said, our shuttle driver was a wonderful and friendly young man.In addition the shuttle to the airport never showed up and I had to pay for a Lyft. I come to Florida every year and never again will I use valuecar. Stay clear, folks
