Don’t go there! Waste of your money and time.I made an appointment for gel manicure. In the process it was revealed that they don’t do gel - they use gel top coat. And then ridiculous part started - they use absolutely no lamps/fans/dryers - they just add all the layers on top of each other right away.After my manicure was finished, I had to stay at the salon for another HOUR for nails no dry up a bit. During this time no one, not one person asked me if I’m okay, if I need water or anything... I just wanted to cry.When I stated that my nails aren’t dry still, they were to argue with me. I had to press my nail on manicure and leave a mark so they’d believe me.So I ended up wasting hours of my time and money on a sloppy manicure, that was messed up the second I tried to reach out for my keys.Frustrating.

I was visiting nyc for my birthday and wanted to find a non-toxic cf nail salon and I hit the jackpot with this place! Its small but clean, the staff was very welcoming, they had a nice selection of vegan polishes, they even have a selection of teas to let you choose from. Honestly my visit was great! Relaxing and no chemical smells. Love it!

I got a great manicure here, and I loved that it was eco-friendly. They really put a lot of time into it. It looks great and has lasted a week so far without a gel topcoat!

Great place, very clean. All customers must wash hands immediately upon arrival and all customers & staff are spread out in the salon. Staff all wore gloves & masks and sat behind plexiglass during manicure. I feel very safe and comfortable visiting here even during the pandemic. Manicure was perfect - they really pay attention to details and dont rush. Salon owner is very nice and helped me pick a polish color. I highly recommend this place.

I had a wonderful experience at the salon. They were able to accommodate me last minute for a gel manicure removal and nailpolish application. Anju was very detail oriented, took her time and did a great job. Very highly recommended!!

Excellent nail salon. Cozy environment, warm service and my mani/pedi hasn’t chipped after 6 days! The extra $5 for a “gel like top coat” is well worth it. Would recommend, will return!

I absolutely love this nail salon. The first time I went here I did not even realize they are a non-toxic/vegan salon until I came inside. It is a warm and welcoming space, notably missing the typical chemical smell of most nail salons. They have a wide selection of colors and the polish is lovely and shiny. The manicure I had done lasted even longer than typical brands. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

Very lovely, chill, and quiet nail salon/spa with nontoxic products. The owner is quite hands on and customer-focused like everyone else there. In contrast with all the other nail salons I’ve been to, the staff at Takunya are very detail-oriented and take their time. I was pleasantly surprised that no one tried to kick me out as soon as I was done like usual. Prices are reasonable and the place is spotless (which, as a clean-freak, I really appreciate). Overall, a unique and relaxing experience - would strongly recommend.

Excellent. The woman who did my manicure was so careful with my nails and put so much attention into applying the polish. The salon itself is very calm and clean. They don’t use harsh chemicals. The decor is also very cozy. I came away feeling very relaxed like I had been to the spa. This will be my go to nail salon and I’ll recommend it to all my friends.

I absolutely love this studio. I’m not big on having my nails painted all the time, but their colors alone are enough to make me want to get them done every week. Such wonderful owner and staff. Clean, smell-free - truly my new one-and-only nail studio.

Had a great experience here. I was the only customer when I arrived late on a week night but called ahead to confirm they could do a mani pedi at that time, so it was fine. The place was quiet and very clean and relaxing. I love that they use bowls rather than jets for pedicures. Both services were thorough and done perfectly. The color selection was all nice and it was hard to decide. I’ll definitely be back.

I have been to this salon a few times now, and I love my mani/pedi every single time. The attention to detail is so good, no other salon can even compete. Once in a while I try a new place out of curiosity, and always leave disappointed, thinking I should have went to my salon, Takunya. Perfect cuticles, shaping and polish application, with color that stays on for more than a week (not a gel!) It’s super clean and comfortable also. Love this place!!!

Takunya is a neighborhood gem! Elif, the owner of the nail salon takes a lot of pride in finding the best high quality, organic products for her business. My biggest concern in many nail salons is the lack of sanitation, and that is not the case at Takunya. Every tool used is thoroughly sanitized, like what you would expect when you visit a dentist. The service was professional and welcoming - I will be back!

Immaculately clean. They have footbaths without plumbing, which means far less risk of harmful bacteria. They use an autoclave. Also the technicians were welcoming and meticulous. I love that its nontoxic and environmentally friendly.

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great work. Totally welcoming and comfortable for men as well as women. Very fair prices.

The best mani-pedi I ever got. Beyond happy with this place. And it has such a lovely atmosphere. Plus non-toxic products. What more could you want?? Highly recommend this place.

It has been a week that i visited this wonderful place and my nails still look amazing and havent chipped yet. Takunya was a small high-quality salon which was very clean and relaxing.They only use non-toxic products and there wasnt any chemical smell inside.They dont even use acetone to remove your nail polish which i was very surprise about it. Since i didnt smell any acetone, i asked my tech and she said they are using soy based argan oil formula to remove polishes. My tech did a wonderful job and made sure my nails were all clean and beautifully painted.At the end nobody rush me out from the door like other salons ive been to.I cant believe all this time i went regular salons smell all that chemicals and use chemical products to my body. i am so happy that i found this perfect nail salon.Definitely going to be a regular here

Absolutely wonderful. I am giving this place 5 stars because it was probably one of the most relaxing mani/pedis Ive ever had. The studio was absolutely beautiful, everything was clean, the polish was of high quality and everything was natural. I feel like most nail studios have that really awful smell from shellac, gel, and other unnatural polish brands, but this place did not have that at all. Was a little price but I think its worth it.

I told my friends about this place after my first trip. Loved the service etc. I got a mani pedi. They did my pedi before my mani and by the time I left my toes had been drying for an hour and STILL smudged by the time I got home. For the price I don’t expect to fix it the next morning. Sigh, disappointed.

A lovely, quaint nail salon with a focus in using non-toxic and environmentally conscious products. Only mani & pedis, no acrylics or UV gels (they do have something called better than gel top coat). Its evident that the owner of the salon puts a lot of thought and care into every corner of the space. Would definitely be back again!
