Great hotel with an optimal location near Central Park and a metro stop. Hotel room was cozy, clean, and attractive. The breakfast was kind of cheap for the price of the hotel, bagel was average and the cereal was a single cup. The staff was friendly, but we did have a misunderstanding with one staff worker. When we first came in to checkout our room the lady mentioned something about breakfast which we are still confused about, not sure if her English wasnt that good or the mask made it difficult to understand. The parking was kind of expensive and one of the staff wasnt professional at all. First he made us wait by getting the wrong keys for the key locker twice, he kept on cursing when the keys didnt work despite us having a younger girl with our company. The worst and most ironic part was that when we were on our way to pay for the service, he told us to hurry up. I dont need to explain how idiotic his statement was but whatever. The main parking manager lady was very nice and respectful though, so Ill leave a nice review because of her.
We loved our stay at The Westin! Check in was smooth and we were able to check in early, hotel was clean with a nice view of the Empire State Building. We were mainly out sight seeing but Douglas the bartender was the best and the other employees there were on top of it! He was so easy to talk to and the wings, pizza and drinks were AMAZING! I will definitely be booking here again!
Amazing experience at this hotel! Clean, neat, professional staff and quick to respond to anything you needed. The concierge, bellman, front desk and housekeeping were all very accommodating. The place was clean and you felt welcomed each and every time you entered and needed anything. The shower was wonderful and the attention from the staff was superb! We will be staying again very soon! Ideal location, and in the middle of anything you wanted to see!
Gym was not cleaned for multiple days, which seems super sensitive during this pandemic. Super noisy at night and front desk told me that I told them wrong room number which I told them that I can not tell for sure from my room. Do you expect me to get up at 2 am to go find which room makes the noise? No shampoo on the first day when I arrived and told me that there is no more shampoo. Caused me late for my reservation when I tried to shower before heading out. House keeping woke me up like 8am to do the cleaning which seems unreasonable.
Location is amazing, staff are super friendly and accommodating and the hotel itself is very nice. We had an end room on the 34th floor that was comfortable and clean with a great view of the city. We were there for three nights, and I believe the hotel was only open to 50% capacity. They did not have any food service, but the bar was open 2 of the nights we were there serving up cocktails. I believe the bartenders name was Amy (I had a few) and she was awesome!Check in/out was smooth and easy, housekeeping was super responsive to requests and needs. It was kind of strange that the rooms had the small refrigerators removed, given it is nice to keep water cold. We also did not have the Westin robe that was profiled as being in the room. Not that that is a huge thing, but if you have never tried on a Westin robe you are missing out. I would absolutely stay here again.
I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. My room was very clean and neat ( room was cleaned and freshened daily), the staff were very friendly. “Shout out to MIKE”He’s beyond awesome! Super amazing guy who helped me a lot.The location is 10 mins walking distance to Times Square, area was busy but safe.
Hotel rooms were nice, the bed was very comfortable and the rooms had an incredible view. Except bathroom which was a bit small, the room itself was great. No food, no room service was a major letdown of the stay. Other hotels are managing to provide to-go food and room services at least. Westin doing none of this was a bit odd and disappointing. No filtered water dispenser in the entire hotel premises was disappointing.
The rooms we booked looked good along with a nice view. However we had to pay for wifi and parking. Due to parking on the street, our car got tolled and we were stressed trying to find it. Also breakfast isnt included in the booking which is a tad inconvenient.
Newly renovated - rooms and lobby + gym. Gets very busy so wouldnt expect to get your room before 4pm. Love that the Westin has Pelotons in their gym - this one has 4.
Was excited to try it out, but this was the worst experience I’ve had in a while at a hotel. The room was filthy (previous persons bedding was still on, bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, etc), and when I called to request that someone change at least the bedding, no one came at all. The checkin was extremely slow (30 minutes waiting in a 5 person line), and the food was not good at all. Too bad the Hyatt Regency next door is temporarily closed!!
I have not stayed at this location yet, but already my experience is irritating! I cant get on the phone with anyone from reservations and no way to email either. I have called over 15 times over a week time period and no way with option 2. Sales goes through, but once transfered the call is disconnected! Not happy and do not recommend if you are looking for a accessable hotel.
Nice clean room! Restaurant is HIDEOUS AND AWFUL DO NOT GO! No room service! Won’t go back.
Stayed at the Westin from 8/6 to 8/8. The room was nothing special (ripped comforter, not cleaned well). Worse, the hotel was out of hand soap (how??), so we had to purchase our own. My biggest complaint is how rude the front desk woman, Doris, was to us when we tried to extend our stay another night. She told us that she wouldn’t offer the original booking price (we were part of a wedding block), so the third night would cost more than twice what we paid for the first two nights. She told us we needed to book online, and when my boyfriend tried calling Westin for support, he waited on hold for help for over 1/2 hour before hanging up.Doris was so rude and sarcastic- at one point she told my boyfriend “don’t think too hard”. How does someone like this end up in customer service? We ended up staying the third night at Public Hotel in Bowery- if I’m going to spend that much money on a hotel room, the place better at least have soap. Public was fantastic- can’t recommend them enough.
The sofa bed in our room was left dirty from the previous guests and stained with period blood. Absolutely disgusting. My family and I had to wait in the lobby past midnight in our pajamas and finally when the hotel staff called us up to the desk, they were treating us as if we were causing a burden, completely unapologetic, and did not show any form of sympathy whatsoever. Forget the inconvenience of having to change rooms at 1am, such a health violation during the era of COVID is unfathomable. We checked in at 5pm and asked housekeeping to make the sofa bed around 6pm because we were told the staff leaves early. We came back to our room seeing the bed wasn’t made after a very long day, and rolled out the bed ourselves only to find the mess and blood. Well, I’m glad they didn’t do their job otherwise we would’ve never known about this. Clearly this hotel does not give priority to customer service, and most importantly health and sanitation.Update: Spoke to the manager the next day and provided the customer service that guests expect in situations like this. James was very sympathetic and was able to accommodate us for the inconveniences.
For the price, I would not stay again.--Pros: Location is near subway station and accessible to tourist attractionsCons:They have no fridge or microwave available for use for guests. So dont plan on having any food in your room. Ended up wasting $50-$75 dollars worth of food because of this.Staff was not responsive after multiple requests for towels in the room; eventually had to make the trip myself to the front desk in the middle of the night to have them brought back up to my room after 3 hours.--Overall, Better options in the area for similar price point
The hotel was nice. Cant wait until we are past the Pandemic so we can get full service.. Room service and concierge. The bellman service was AWESOME!
I absolutely love this hotel.. The place was extremely clean, the staff was amazing, and the view was perfect. The only thing I didnt like was for the amount of money we paid there was no fridge or microwave in the room. Due to covid room service wasnt available. The bar was open though and we had no wait even though it was alot of people there. There wasnt a large selection of drinks and they run u about $15 for all shots and $18 for all drinks (or vice versa) on-site parking is about $85 night but if your willing to walk a few blocks down you can get it for cheaper (we paid about $65..again u can find it cheaper if your willing to look) Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be coming back.
Hotel is nice enough. Great location right in the middle of things and easy access to transportation. Unfortunately we got there around 11pm and after a long day of flying were held up at the front desk unable to check in for nearly an hour. No real explanations or communication to us as to why and that was extremely frustrating.
Friendly staff. Immaculate and updated room. Great location. Close to subway, and grand central station. Definitely going back.
Rooms are well equipped a little bit small very clean nice gym and nice neighborhood
We stayed here in June 2021. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious for Manhattan. No food in the hotel yet but lots of breakfast places outside and nearby. Great location close to Grand Central and the 5 6 and 7 trains. Stayed on the 36th floor. Rooms seem to have redone. View of 42nd street with East River and Chrysler building. Hotel was quiet for June. No lines for elevator or check in. The bar is open. The city is reopening but not back 100%.
We have stayed a many hotels in Manhattan and this by far was the best one yet. The rooms are bigger than your usual NYC hotel room, the staff is super accommodating from the moment we stepped out of our car. Huge shout out to Dennis who took care of us like we were family. Valet usually takes 30 mins, but with Dennis we went to grab coffee and came back and he was ready for us. Would highly recommend staying here!- the McIntoshs
Have stayed there in the pastWill stay there again in AugustLove everything about theWestin
Rooms are OK. Service is horrible all the way around. Front desk, vallet, restaurant, just poor service for a full-service property charging these rates!
Gorgeous hotel located just a hop, skip and a jump away from GCS. Newly renovated, luxurious lobby area and rooms (super nice to have a literally brand new, fresh space post-quarantine, IMO).
Fun location, historical, and ok services.
Took us almost an hour to get checked in and the reservation is still not correct. Front desk did not care to help and had a problem with almost everyone checking in. Looking to stay at a different place for our last night in New York.
Very clean hotel located close to Grand Central. The staff has been very friendly and accomodating.
Nice to be back to Manhattan after 1yr 5 months..
Great spacious rooms and service is top notch.
I work at the parking lot underneath the Westin Hotel, but I have stayed before Covid-19 and the experience was very pleasant
Nice Hotel and great location.
Great customer service and a clean place
Inexpensive, nice, clean rooms in a convenient location
Check in was courteous and prompt. We forgot a resume for a dance audition and were in a panic. The concierge was wonderful printing it out right away for us. As a courtesy the front desk gave us two vouchers for breakfast to compensate us for the mandatory resort fee charge. We had an audition early in the AM so chose room service which was delivered promptly. The bed was super comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. It is safe, nice area with easy walking access to Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. We would definitely stay here again.
Decent and adequate lodging; ok breakfast assortment; unsuccessful to reach assistance at reception desk.
I’m currently waiting in the lobby, at 9:33pm trying to check in but I can’t because my room isn’t “clean yet”. Check in is at 4pm.
I could not have been more pleased with my stay at the Westin New York Grand Central!! Great staff, facility, food and location. Each staff member I had interaction with was more than accommodating and friendly. The room was clean and spacious with a terrific view. The bar had great hours, not closing until 1am allowing us to exhaust our night in the city while being able to wind down at the end of all of it with a complimentary drink. I travel to NYC several times a year and have stayed in a lot of nice places, but my stay here was refreshing to say the least. I have already recommended the Westin to friends and family. Thank you for a great stay!!!
The concierge on the night of my check-in was very accommodating & made my check-in seamless and efficient. I was given food vouchers and an information card explaining things to do around the city. The room was clean with a quaint lay-out. The shower was large & I enjoyed that it had 2 showerheads. The room service was excellent & the food was always hot & delicious. They didnt miss a beat! Cleaning service was very polite and took care of reasonable requests without issue. It was an enjoyable stay!
A fantastic Hotel! Perfect location right in the heart of Manhattan. Rooms are generous in size, bathrooms are small but modern & clean. Lobby & reception cozy and inviting. Staff cant do enough for you! This hotel is perfect for your New York stay!
Loved staying here on our trip to New York. Its a good location, not far from all the standard attractions but far away enough to not be too hectic.
Westin made our 1 night stay in New York PERFECT with early check-in after an over-night flight, and late check-our the next day. Staff was incredibly helpful. We appreciated getting a coupon for food or beverages as part of the $25 user fee that the hotel charges. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. Close to everything. As with any hotel in NY, room service was really pricey. The good news is that there are restaurants right outside of the hotel that provide similar menu choices at 1/2 the price. Overall - fantastic choice! I have already booked my next stay.
Wonderful experience. Warm reception, and very clean environment
Our fist family trip to NYC was a success, thanks to the Westin! The initial greeting was warm and welcoming. The ease of check-in for our two families and accommodating us on t he same floor was a bonus. The adults loved a close getaway to the LCL bar where friendly wait staff greeted us and remembered us on multiple visits. The location was central for us to see Broadway, Times Square and all the way down to Central Park. There are many hole in the wall dining experiences nearby that were in walking distance. We highly recommend the Westin and will definitely stay there again!
We had a great stay on our first visit to NYC. The location was great and the staff made us feel at home. We felt safe in the location in a huge city we knew nothing about. We had a great view of the Chrysler building out our window that was cool. The staff was paying attention to a brief conversation I had with them and sent a tasty birthday cake that my kiddo loved!!
Great staff and location
We celebrated our anniversary in the big apple and chose the Westin NY Grand Central due to the location. It was our best trip to NYC! The staff at the Westin checked us in promptly. Our room was available upon check-in and late check-in granted. I had forgotten how important little things like this as well as nice linens, robe, mini bar and the heavenly bed were! A true differentiator from other hotels. Great location. Great staff. Will definitely be back!
Im always skeptical when booking a hotel these days due to great angling and false advertisement. Our stay at the Westin was far better than we originally expected --- the room was spacious (difficult to find in NY) super clean. And the couch gave us another area to sit and chat --- I would absolutely come back ! Looking forward to it
I read several reviews about the hotel before I made the reservation. Most people complained about the elevators. During my two night visit, there was not an issue with the elevators. I think the longest I may have waited was a minute, it did not take a long time to get to the lobby, and I was on the 32nd floor. I agree that as Platinum Elite member you have to pay for amenities (upgraded internet and a full breakfast), via the resort fees, that are included with your elite status. The breakfast is not worth the $25 resort fee, its the standard breakfast you would receive at Springhill Suite. You can select breakfast instead of points at check-in, but you can only choose four items. At check-in, I did not receive the resort fee vouchers, but the hostess during breakfast explained the redemption process. If you dont receive your vouchers when you check-in, you need to ask for them. The front desk also failed to tell me as an elite member I was entitled to two bottles of free water each day. Thankfully, the bellhop explained this when he assisted my mother and me with our luggage. Noise was another common complaint in the reviews I read, but I did not have an issue with noise. Overall my stay was fine.
I was very happy with my stay at your hotel. Everyone in the lobby was very friendly and welcoming. The woman who checked me in was very sweet and professional. She offered me a bottle of water. She worked with the young man next to her who was checking in my son-in-law and daughter to make sure we were near one another. She verified that I needed a room without down/feather pillows and bedding before I even said anything as its part of my history. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Everyone in the lobby was very kind to my young grandchildren and made it very special for them. I couldnt have been happier and Ive already recommended your hotel to some friends. The only reason I checked Good for Dining is that I would have liked to have had more of a variety of food at the brunch for the price. The food that was offered was excellent, the host and the waitress were and the seating was comfortable.
From check-in to check-out our experience was wonderful. All employees were helpful and listened to our needs. The location was perfect and within walking distance to many popular NY attractions. We had a family wedding that we attended and the doorman was especially helpful in getting our taxis. He even spotted us when we left a credit card in our taxi on return to the hotel! The concierge helped with our wheelchair rental and return. All employees we came in contact with were helpful. We had a nice view of a pretty building, it wasnt the Chrysler, but another which was all lit up beautifully at night. There is a nice little eatery right next door with a very good selection of things if one doesnt wish to eat in the dining room. There are lots of choices from soups to sandwiches, fruit, croissants, yoghurt. All very reasonable. We ate there several times. We only stayed 5 nights, but our stay was very enjoyable.
We loved this hotel. It was clean and very welcoming. Their is restaurants on premises. Very ready check in. Store for items of souvenir or sundries. Rooms large spacious and handicap accessible. It is self parking so be prepared to park and walk with luggage to hotel. Breakfast buffet in morning is great. Bar is nice with bar food available. Very big lobby to sit with a cup of coffee and just watch people. Large flat screen in lobby as well. Restrooms on lobby level.
I took my daughter and grandaughter to NYC for a few days and loved our stay at the Westin Grand Central! It was a lovely, safe, clean retreat after a long day of being out and about. Each staff member was very helpful and kind. I was impressed with their service. Perfect location for safety, shopping, and connections to other parts of the city. Withing walking distance of Times Square and just a block from Grand Central. I plan to return to NYC in the near future and will stay at the Westin Grand Central again!
Lilly at the front desk is phenomenal! She was very accommodating and treated us like family. The rooms were nice, a bit tight for a small family like ours with the stroller and pack n play but we made it work. Our daughter loved the window. We did not realize that the refrigerator provided was only for minibar service and we would have to pay to keep our stuff in there, however with a quick phone call to the front desk they were able to put a mini fridge in our room an included service with our stay.
My mother and I stayed at the Westin Grand Central overnight to attend a conference. We are not city savvy by any means, but were lucky enough to find this hotel. It met all of our expectations and then some. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed walking around the surrounding area. The staff was very helpful and it was a great weekend and the price was very reasonable.
This property is one of the best (Marriott properties) hotels I have visited in NY. If you have any questions and have a busy schedule, management is efficient at handling issues via email or voicemail requests. I was impressed. I need to make a few changes and Marriott.com was experiencing technical issues, I left a voicemail and each of my concerns and requests were addressed in a timely manner. Including the cancellation of one of my rooms. I was impressed.
Attended a conference at this location. Lovely surroundings and design. Learned a lot as well. #visionboards
I recently stayed at the Westin Grand Central for 3 nights. I was extremely happy with my stay. I was able to check in quickly, the room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless...no dirty grout or anything to make me feel it could be cleaner. The housekeeper we have on the 30th floor was awesome...so nice and friendly and kept our room spotless. I regret I did not get her name, she is a great asset to the hotel as was the woman who checked me in and out. I did see crowds build up at times in the lobby as people checked in and out so I was lucky in that regard. The location is excellent for walking most places you would want to go. I will definitely stay here for all future visits to Manhattan.
I got a great deal for a 3 night stay at the Westin hotel. Loved this location because I explored a different part of the city. Ive never been disappointed with the Westin Hotel. Courteous and helpful staff, clean room and a good breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend this hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had a great stay here. The gym was spacious and never too busy, the room was comfy with big fluffy pillows, and the location just cant be beat for what I wanted to do - museums, Times Square and Broadway shows. I was on a business trip and it was super convenient to our office and the internet was speedy too.
Stayed here for one night after a long trip and the beds were comfortable, the lighting in the room was excellent. Stayed on the 35th floor in a corner room that was very spacious. Not a fan of having to pay extra resort fee to use the Wifi, that should be included in the stay. Received comps for 2 drinks, totally took advantage of that, need to unwind. The location is great, close to Times Square and a 15 minute walk to Macys. Would have given an excellent rating but the bathroom needs some repair and repainting, otherwise Ill stay again.
Got checked in by Raquel and she is the most welcoming and WONDERFUL human! She was sweet, accommodating and answered all of our questions. We will keep coming back to this hotel all thanks to how she treated my wife and I! Thank you for an amazing service!
Very good deal for the money especially during the Christmas holidays. Rooms are clean, up to date, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Had a minor check in issue which was handled expeditiously and to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend.
Lots of restaurants nearby and very nice location
To keep it short and not so sweet, I finally went out of my way to book myself a nice hotel in downtown Manhattan while I was there on business. My first room had a broken window, it was dusty everywhere and the tv didnt properly work. Imagine the cozy night of sleep I had after long travel. I complained and nothing was offered to me in compensation. I demanded to change rooms. The second room was also filthy. The tub had smears of brown sludge in the bottom near the drain and most of the enamel was cracked. At this point I had meetings and didnt want to change rooms. The staff waved some drinks, but I just dont feel like that was enough. Anyways, if you have high expectations for this hotel, drop them. They werent even able to check if my rooms were clean or heated before me checking in
I had a good experience. Friendly staff, very willingly refunded the unexpected $28 daily destination fee (resort fee). Large (for NYC) clean room, comfortable bed, fast elevator response.Resort fees are hidden in fine print. If you stay at a hotel in NYC you will probably pay them, but those fees should be included in price of room, not tracked on. Westin wouldve gotten five stars from me if they hadnt engaged in deceptive practices like this.
This hotel was amazing! We had a really great time. The view was awesome! Windows didn’t lock which was kinda scary but maintenance cam and fixed it right away . LCL food and drinks were amazing. Room service was fit for a queen!
Booked this Hotel via third party website. The check-in was great no issues. Reach the room, the door is unlocked and seems like someone has been in the room and used the facilities. Go down to concierge, they have no available alternative rooms. Since we were there for one night, decided to not make a fuss about it. Went out sightseeing and came back to the room to a warm gesture (butterfingers, cookies and 2 beers (we dont drink but still appreciated) by Lori Ann from the concierge team. About to go to bed and noticed that the pillow covering has a major rip, Call Concierge again but sounds like they couldnt be bothered. Send the housekeeping person to the room who sees the cover and exclaims how could the person putting it on not notice it. The clothes is not manually ripped but just worn out completely. Get the covers changed and no further events through the stay. I have attached the picture.
I simply enjoy staying at the Westin Grand Centra hotel. I was there right at the first day of the Grand Opening of this hotel--ex Hemsley hotel--, and stayed several days at this facility. It is my preferred home whenever I visit New York for business. Very nice, spacious and indeed cleand and confortable rooms. Staff at the hotel are very courteous, prompt and with a forthcoming attitude. I am simply amazed how they recognize you right as you step out of the car and welcome you with a nice smile. Equally important, this Westin is located in a very strategic position for conducting my businesses in New York. Thanks.
Overall very nice, however, check in was very slow. Two extremely long lines and only 2 clerks! Took an hour to check in and no one checking in elite members! Room was nice, but the bed clearly needs to be flipped or rotated as the head of the bed was actually lower than the foot. The usual wearing of repeated use in on one side of the bed. Restaurant is good for breakfast, though kind of small so Sunday morning can be very crowded.
Had a great weekend stay. Very close to Grand Central. We had stunning views from our two rooms. The rooms had ample space unlike many NY hotels!! I highly recommend. Will definitely come back.
During our recent stay at the Westin New York Grand Central, the level of service was not what I have come to expect. Due to room availability, my reservation was split into two parts. The first night (6/28/19) we were assigned to a King room with a couch. The remaining six nights, we had reserved a deluxe double room. This was what was available and we were good with that plan. On the morning of 6/29, we were told that our new room would be available when we returned from our activities around the city. We packed our suitcases and placed them in the holding area. Upon return to the property, around 4:00 pm, we were given a key to our new room. I went to the room and was very happy with it. I kicked off my shoes, used the restroom and called my husband to let him know where I was. He was in the lobby arranging for our bags to be brought to the room. He informed me that he was approached by a member of the hotel management and told that we could not stay in that room. We had been re-assigned to a room that was a down-grade from the room I reserved. She said that a member of her staff had given us the room was supposed to be for another party who had been waiting for most of the day. The discussion over the next 45 minutes was very contentious and the result was that we were assigned to a basic double for the night due to deluxe double rooms not being available. We would then be able to move to a deluxe double the next day. As a concession, the manager told us that she would provide us with four full breakfasts each day for the remainder of our stay. We accepted her offer and were happy. The next morning (6/30) we packed our bags and moved them to the holding area. We proceeded to the restaurant for breakfast. After a lengthy discussion with the hostess, she finally went to the lobby desk to verify our breakfast. Normally guests with the full breakfast included with their stay are given vouchers to present to the hostess. We did not receive the vouchers and were told that they were transitioning to new ones that had not arrived from the supplier. There would be a note in our reservation record that could be verified by the restaurant staff each morning when we went to breakfast. We thought this was odd since we repeatedly witnessed other guests presenting the vouchers each morning we went to breakfast. The routine was the same every morning. We would arrive at the hostess stand, attempt to explain the situation, debate with her for 5 minutes or so and final
The hotel itself is in a great location as a central starting point. The hotel staff was friendly and provided great hospitality. It was nice that the destination fee provided services that you can actually use, unlike many hotels who charge a resort fee as just another tax. We took advantage of the wine option at LCL. Had we stayed longer we might’ve taken advantage of the tour at GC or yoga. I would stay here again.
WONDERFUL, UNEXPECTED MURALon the eastern exterior wall of the Westin Hotel opposite Grand Central Terminus is a must see, even if it is easy to miss. The painting is several stories high and looks east from the area where hotel supplies are unloaded. What a marvelous use of a big space for art. The topic is child labor. (September 2019)
Greeted with a smile. Lilly checked us in and recommended a local restaurant for dinner. Check out was just as easy. She made our NY- New Year 2020 memorable.
This hotel is at a great location but that’s where the greatness ends. I was in town Tue to Fri for work during August and stayed here for first time. The concierge staff was very helpful and polite. The staff who answers “Express service” calls (requesting a mini refrigerator in my room or for shower caps) was also helpful and prompt. But that’s all the positive stuff about this hotel.Hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. Rooms are very old. The fabric on the two couches in my room was not only dated and stained, it just looked extremely dirty that I was scared to sit on it.Towels provided were very run down. Not soft or fluffy as almost other NYC hotels charging this price provide. I requested sheets be changed everyday during my stay and every time they were stained. Not what I’m expecting at a Westin. Maybe hotel needs to stop using a decade old linen and towels if we are paying this much per night at this hotel.
This property was great for our family vacation. We had stayed closer to the action in previous stays, and this time we just wanted to be away from all of that. This property afforded us the opportunity to be in a calmer section of the city, while still providing ample transportation, entertainment, and food options. While away from Times Square, we did not feel like we were isolated or out of touch with the city. It was quite the opposite because there were many subway stops right by the hotel where you could catch almost any train youd want, and other places to eat and entertain yourself were well within walking distance. Our only concern we had was the price and service in the hotel restaurant. I understand that prices will be inflated at large city hotels. I travel enough during the year to realize this. However, when it cost over $100 for a grilled-cheese, a potpie, and a burger, thats a problem. Coupled with the extremely slow service (even when there were MANY open tables), that made this part of the experience a little disappointing. Overall, this was a great stay and I will definitely consider staying here again in the future. We reserved a one bedroom suite for my family of three and we felt comfortable and each had places to stretch out and relax.
The staff was helpful and friendly. I loved that we were able to safely store our luggage prior to check in. The staff went above and beyond to help us get early check in. The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was near the elevators so it was a bit noisy at times but not too bad. The food at LCL was hot and fresh. The pasta was not too good, but it was prepared fresh and came out quickly. My sister’s steak was cooked to perfection. The hotel is conveniently located near shopping and the subway. It was very easy to get around.
The staff was great and the rooms were nice. The location was perfect to walk most places I wanted to visit in the Manhattan area. They will definitely get my business again!
We enjoyed a weekend of theater and stayed at the Westin. Good rate for a room with two beds. The $25 destination fee ended up being 28.69 on the bill. It was confusing about what it included and I wish they would just get rid of it. Breakfast for one but not two or 4 items at grab and go, not a great value. East of Grand Central so location ok, but we prefer the Marriott Fairfield or Pulse on 37th for walking to the theater district. The rooms are a nice size and the beds very comfortable. Very convenient to public transit.
Great location just down from Grand Central Station and the subway. Large room, very comfortable bed, sofa and desk provided. Nice shower with plenty of hot water. Only downside is the restaurant and bar. Limited menu with fairly high prices for both food and drink. Service was slow at peak morning and evening hours.
Was decent. Got a newly renovated room, which was nice, but they hadnt restocked it all the way before putting us in it, which was surprising. The minibar was empty, no bottled water, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was very comfortable.
Was very happy with our stay at Westin Grand Central! Stepping out of the hotel and being able to see the Chrysler and Empire State buildings was great. Also getting the corner view room and having a (small) view of the Empire State was lovely too. Corner room was a good size for the 3 of us, and pull out sofa was comfortable. Make sure you take advantage of the daily $35 credit -- wish I had known about it as I bought drinks at the onsite restaurant one night! Hotel is a 5 min walk from Grand Central, and close enough for short Uber rides to all the sights. Highly recommend and would love to stay again.
My family and I chose the Westin for its location and also for our good experiences with Westin. The staff at this hotel were wonderful - accommodating, friendly, helpful. The hotel was very well staffed. Room (bed is so comfortable) and bathroom nicely appointed. Rooms are not super large but well appointed. Fantastic location for staying on the city. Will stay there again for sure!
Happy customer, my partner and I enjoyed our personal leisure trip to Manhattan, on the east side of Midtown. We shared my 30th birthday with friends, and came back for a few hours in the night for some party fun. Left the room, used but not crazy. It was exactly what i was looking for, when i needed a night out in Manhattan, my Home City for my Dirty 30th Birthday.
Great property, great location, only issue I had was with the bathroom lights, I would have liked to not have them be so bright. It was all or nothing. One day one of the towels were ripped and seemed to be very old, these were quickly changed. Other than that everything was great. The one breakfast included in our stay was enough for my husband and I to share.
Nice lobby, friendly staff. Comfortable beds, rooms and bathrooms can use a face lift. Lobby and LCL bar is nice and food/drink coupon was a nice touch, although it is only for one person. Great location to get around NYC.
My room was nice. The bed was comfortable and easy to fall asleep in. The layout was pretty good and roomy for most Midtown hotels. I was disappointed in the lack of USB ports for phone charging. I had only my charging cable and not the outlet plug. Otherwise there were plenty of outlets. My biggest gripe was the shower. The shower head and the wand were nice to have but the drain was stopped up so I ended up showering in a puddle with the dirt from my body (from playing rugby) gathering around my ankles. I didnt bother to notify the staff because I was in a rush. But that stuck out to me.
Stayed here twice over the years. (It’s more expensive this side of town as opposed to Times Square area, to eat out etc).Hotel is comfy & clean. Staff were very friendly & helpful. The bar & restaurant attached to this hotel was good. Close to grand central & one or two landmarks. Not as handy as other hotels, but Manhattan is fairly condensed. Even I managed using crutches & wheelchair on days we were walking. Ok value for money
Stayed at Westin Grand Central for 4 days and had a lovely visit. Entire staff was very helpful and kind. Room was every thing we hoped for and with an impressive view. The location was great for us. We walked to the UN and Rock Center and took the Subway, which is close by, a few times. The area is nice with coffee shops, CVS drug store, anything you might need is close by.
This hotel was great. Location was nice could hop on the subway or grab a cab right outside and be where you need to go fairly quickly. Great staff. Had a lot of nice conversations and interactions with the people working in the restaurant especially. Will be returning and highly recommend for anyone wanting to be in a good location to explore the city.
Hotel in very accessible location. Excellent access to Metro, Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, NY Public Library, quick shuttle to Times Square. Quieter neighborhood street noise did not impact our rooms.Used metro and walked from Grand Central after attending show with no concerns.
The Westin Grand Central is in an excellent location just two blocks from Grand Central Station. The rooms at the hotel are very spacious and clean. And there is a terrific fitness facility. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
I would have given this hotel 5 stars until I realized there’s a zero transparency $29 per night “destination” fee. Extra cost with zero added value. For sure would not come again, and for sure would warn all my fellow Canadian travellers about this.
When we called over he phone to ask about parking, we asked how much a days worth would be for our SUV. The rep said 65$ dollars a day. When arriving the valet said it was 75$. I felt it was a little too much like a bait and switch. When we registered our rooms online, we were told we could check in by 1pm. When we arrived they said it was at 4. Our rooms weren’t even ready for then and we had to stow our bags. Our check in was delayed by over 3 hours. Not a good start. The attendant who stowed our bags made a passive remark about how they usually get gratuity...so, I didn’t appreciate that remark, especially seeing how he kept bringing us out the wrong bags. The ice machine on our floor didn’t work. Aside from that, I was very pleased with the rooms. They were very nice, clean, comfortable and spacious. We slept very well and had no issues with other service.
If you need a hotel close to the train station this is for you. Check in was quick and efficient. Hotel is well maintained and rooms were clean. Great hotel for a business trip or just a day visiting the sights of NYC.
I really liked the staff they welcoming, helpful and efficient. I called to extend one night and they gave me same rate. I will recommend. Only Con was calling to request for Wash cloths everyday. Other than that’s, I was ok with everything else.
