It was a scam. The hotel was closed for months. We booked the hotel 3 weeks ago. We arrived at NY today and the hotel was closed. We called the customer service, but no one answered. They finally picked up and hanged up on us immediately. We went to the Marriott hotel nearby and they refused to honor our reservation. They asked us to cancel the booking and rebook with an expensive price. There were some other families had the same issue as us. We will not do business with Marriott/CBM again.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SUPPOSED TO STAY HERE ON A TRIP TO NEW YORK, COME TO FIND OUT THIS PLACE HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR MONTHS, HOWEVER VARIOUS BOOKING AGENCIES LIKE TRAVELOCITY ARE STILL ALLOWING CUSTOMERS TO BOOK!!!!!!!!! ***** PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE*********IF I WOULD HAVE NOT DONE MY RESEARCH WE WOULD HAVE SHOWED UP AT THIS HOTEL ON OUR FIRST TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY WITH NO PLACE TO STAY! IM SO ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED THAT AGENCIES ALLOW BOOOKINGS TO OCCUR AT HOTELS THAT OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT OPEN... PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT AN HOW YOU BOOK.
Had the time of my life room was perfect I had a stove n refrigerator and oh my the view on the roof was excellent I cant wait to go back the people were so friendly coming back in August
Do NOT book this hotel (it is not open due to COVID) and for that matter do not book the NEW YORK MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN at 85 West Street.Let me begin by saying that I travel often and am not the type of traveler who typically wastes time leaving reviews on the service I receive, no matter how horrible...The customer service in this case was, however, unconscionably poor and egregious. This is a warning to my fellow travelers of this hotel and of the New York Marriott Downtown.Long story short, I travelled internationally for my birthday. Made reservations to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott New York through Booking.com. Apparently the Courtyard by Marriott had been closed down since the beginning of COVID, and so the fact that I was able to make reservations in the first place is mind boggling. I only learned that my reservation had been cancelled when I showed up to the Courtyard after traveling for 10 hours (might I add in the pouring rain) and found the outside of the hotel shuttered up. A gentleman outside told me the hotel had been shut down, and pointed me in the direction of the New York Marriott Downtown instead. What ensued was passive aggressive and poor communication by the front desk staff at the New York Marriott Downtown, hours spent on the phone with Booking.com attempting to resolve the issue, and a bill three times what I had planned to pay.Take my word for it, from one frequent traveler to the next, avoid the Courtyard by Marriott and the New York Downtown Marriott. These hotels have no ethic and will leave you out in the rain.
On our late night arrival at the hotel my daughter and I were made and felt welcome instantly. We had asked the hotel to arrange for a driver to pick us up from the airport, which they did.The Driver and Staff at the hotel were friendly and put us at ease from the very outset of our arrival to New York.Throughout the stay each day we were greeted by staff in a friendly and helpful manner. This made our stay rememberable and enjoyable throughout. The hotel is placed close to all amenities and brand named shops. It is also placed well for historical visits and within easy access to transportation to other areas of the City.We would definitely recommend the hotel and in the future return on our next visit to New York.
From the moment I arrived I was treated amazingly well. Anthony at the front desk acknowledged my elite status and I was able to check in early. This was a huge plus since my son and I had just flew in from a red eye flight. The room was well appointed and although we did have an issue with the bathroom at the end of the day, we were quickly re-located to another room. The lounge and bar area was great and the staff were no nice and attentive. We were there for 4 days, 3 nights and enjoyed our stay.
Stayed for 3 nights over the holiday season between Christmas and New Years. Was greeted by Cassandra upon check-in who was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions for places around. She was also very quick in setting us up with our room. The hotel entrance is under construction which makes it very narrow to enter and hard to have anybody pass each other but this can make it hard to find. The rooms are small, as to be expected in NYC, but they are modern and very comfortable. The beds are fantastic, room was very clean, and the room has good soundproofing. The location is also fantastic! The subway is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel and connects you to everywhere you could possibly want to go. We only had two small issues - the iron we had did not work and they must have freshly redone the caulking on the shower as it had been spilled on the countertop of the vanity and stuck my phone to it which I was able to scrape off. Reported it to the front desk through the app as well and it said I would be contacted... never was...Overall a great stay and would return as this may have just been a tech issue.
Overall nice stay. We enjoyed the comfort of the bed. The room was a little bit small but in a very good location. The reception service could surely be improved. When we checked out almost one day earlier one of the reception guys told us that we have to pay for early check out (!!!!!).We finally figured it out and we didnt but thats insane even if it was just said. More bathroom amenities would be appreciated. The security staff was really helpful and friendly
We preferred downtown because it was a new hotel, clean, and a decent size room. If you stay in midtown/Times Square its going to be noisy, However, downtown is dead after 5 so it was super quiet every night. Great spacious bathroom and accommodating staff. We arrived just as NYC was shutting down due to COVID-19 pandemic, and when we arrived the staff was cleaning and disinfecting everything - it was very reassuring! Its a few blocks to the closest subway, but then maybe only a 10-15 min ride to mid-town. If you want to save yourself a few bucks and have a quiet night, stay downtown.
Our room reservation was cancelled by someone within the Marriot company on the day of check in. No one called to inform me. Nor was an email sent. When I arrived to the hotel (from a flight at 8:30PM) I was informed Joel (heavy set gentlemen with a Cuban link wedding band) that there was nothing that could be done with reverting the rate back to the amount I initially booked it. This statement from the employee was hard to believe, but I didn’t challenge it. I was told that I would have to pay an additional $120.00 for my stay. I informed the hotel representative that my lady nor I cancelled the reservation (which we checked into via the Marriot Bonvoy Application at 10:54AM before our fight on the the very same day). It seems as if my word and email evidence wasn’t enough. So we took the first night at the original rate and was told we would have to book and pay the additional amount for the next 2 days of our stay. I was tired and frustrated after being at the front desk for about 30-35 minutes so I went to the room, ate and calmed down. I then went back downstairs to discuss, once again, the unfairness and unprofessional treatment we were receiving. After another 15 minute conversation I was told that in the morning they would be able to see who canceled the reservation. If it was someone within the company they would “handle it.” If it was me then I would have to pay the current rate of the room. I asked the employee that if he won’t be here in the morning could he keep the morning shift co-worker abreast with the situation. He agree that he would.Joel said he would give us the best suite in the house due to the inconvenience. When we got to room 1912 it definitely didn’t seem like the best suite. In addition to that we were roomed next to some high school children who where making noise inside and outside their room throughout the night. I went back down to the desk at 5:41AM Friday morning and met Joel (he has braces). Joel knew nothing of the situation because he wasn’t informed of anything. I had to explain the situation all over again. He then did some research into our account history and the error that occurred. Within 10 minutes he resolved the issue. I’m just baffled with how the heavy set Joel couldn’t give us the same respect, efficiency and courtesy as Joel with the braces. The employees that salvaged this stay were Joel (with braces), Eddie (valet from Ghana), the other valet whose name I forgot, and Susa
This is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed at in NYC. Its location and the views you get if the world trade center memorial are incredible. It gives you great access ti everything in lower Manhattan and is easy to park and stay at. I highly recommend staying in this hotel you wont regret it. The staff is always welcoming and the venue is perfect. Our rooms are always very nice inside with great views of the city.

The place was great for a quick trip downtown, located right in the center of the WTC area. The view was gorgeous, the room was affordable and made great use of the space. The hotel feels modern without being annoyingly complicated and bright spaces welcome you everywhere. The lounge area leaves a little to be desired but quite frankly we’re in NYC, walk five feet and you’ll find something that appeals to you. Will absolutely be staying again.
We enjoyed our night because they have a pool. The pool was wide enough for us to enjoy our night swimming. They also have staff who always help us when we have something to ask them. We really enjoyed the day so much! I super love it! I will recommend this place to everyone for they have good facilities and the service was great!
Helpful, pleasant staff. Great location. Clean, lovely rooms. Felt secure as I was traveling alone. Pillows and mattress were perfect! Just wish the Fitness Center was maintained a little bit better. No tv remote. TV on recumbent bike didn’t work. Peloton bike was not maintained well. Treadmill needed WD40. But it worked! Plus, the staff let me grab a banana on the way to the Fitness Center without paying for the full breakfast! And it’s very close to the R station and the Fulton Street station - key! I will always stay at this hotel!
I planned a trip to New York prior to covid 19. Due to covid 19 I was unable to come because everything was closed down. I was promised a full refund and I am still waiting. I cancelled at the end of June for my stay in August. Still have not received the refund.
We were overall very pleased with our stay. The few issues were resolved quickly with no questions asked at all. Very courteous, friendly, personable and professional staff. We like Marriott facilities for these reasons - consistent positive experiences. The Courtyard is a short walk to the subway, INCREDIBLE views of the WTC, several good and moderately priced eateries within a 10 minute walk.
My daughter and I have spent many weekends in NY but this is the first downtown and staying at this hotel. It was amazing. Driving into the city was so easy as the hotel was so close to the tunnel. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. Our room was so clean and I felt it was spacious for a NY hotel. We had a corner room over looking the World Trade Center site and it was an amazing view. I am going to recommend this hotel to everyone I know!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and fresh rooms. Impressive view, lovely to look out over the peaceful memorial. Floor-to-ceiling window to enjoy the bright city scape (inc the river) and the night lights. A quieter location away from the (for us) unbearable hustle and bustle of the area around Times Sq. Nice restaurants and cafes nearby though I wish we asked the staff for recommendations for independent places. Would stay again.
Guests liked the large, clean, updated rooms · Rooms had views · Guests liked the quiet rooms & comfortable beds
From the moment we arrived, everything went right. The woman at the front desk was awesome, quick, courteous & knowledgeable. The rooms were spotless, and all the fixtures were modern and worked perfectly, including the water pressure which isnt always a given on the road. You cant beat the location if youre visiting the 9/11 Museum, which is beyond any words I could muster up. Do NOT skip the museum, although you can probably skip the tour. We guided ourselves through it without a hitch. Give 3-4 hours for the museum and you can see pretty much all of it. Oharas Bar, right outside the hotel, is legendary, stop in youll see why immediately.
Parking is over priced and understaffed. Your better off parking down the street where you pay less and can get your car when your ready to leave instead of the 45 minute wait they tell you it takes. Check in desk has one person working so was the check out process. If someone in front of you has a problem checking in better be ready for a long wait cause there is no one else available to check you in. The lobby is non existent probably because of construction in that area. Just trying to get to the hotel is a chore. Streets are blocked off and you are unable to go directly to the hotel but must go thru side streets and a maze to find valet parking. Rooms are so small you need to walk sideways to get around the bed. They are clean and fairly new though. The 6th floor casual dining area and outside patio is the nicest feature of the hotel overlooking WTC with great views at night. Area is very nice and not as noisy as say Times Square with less activity. Lots of police presence which made the area feel very safe. Battery park is within a 10 minute down the street walk.
This was a last minute booking that didnt disappoint. The staff on duty was exceptional during check-in and check out. The room was very clean with plenty of fresh towels and amenities. The staff provided speedy responses to any request. And to top it off the restaurant staff was very friendly, interactive and kind. The home location was perfect for our short stay as it was very close to numerous attractions and sights we planned on visiting. Public Transportation was in walking distance as well as plenty restaurants and shops to choose from. I must say I am very please with my last minute decision to stay at the Courtyard New York Downtown Manhattan/WTC area.
Property appeared recently renovated/new in good condition. Lobby was nicely air conditioned. Elevators and public halls not so much. Room had issue with air conditioner, property promptly fixed it (facility recently switched from winter to summer operations and my trip was during a heatwave). Property is a block from the World Trade Center including the attached Westfield mall which provides for central location for catching most PATH and NYC Subway lines. Very convenient location, nice from patio on 6th floor of WTC memorial and building. Staff very friendly and helpful.
My friend and I were in Manhattan for a quick girls trip. We booked a room with a view and were happy when we had a room on the 24th floor with a view of the twin fountains at the WTC memorial. We were warmly welcomed by James at the front desk, who let us in our room before check in because it was ready. This allowed us to freshen up after a morning flight and before we went exploring. The location is great, near metro stops and walking distance to Battery Park, the Occulus, and Brookfield Place, along with trendy bars and restaurants in the Financial District. There is security 24/7, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Would definitely recommended and stay again.
Really Amazing place, perfect location It is situated in the center of New York you can find nice restaurant and bars near here, i stayed here for a four days with my friends and really amazing experience and really nice service. The staff is really good they really friendly and helpful, The rooms were really well organized and cleaned. The housekeeping service is really good they are there in time. This is the best Hotel. 5 stars!!!
It was our first time staying at this location and I recommend it based on the location. Close to the train station and many restaurants are walking distance. The reason to the 4 stars is because of what happened during our checkout. The check-in was great and we had great customer service but upon our checkout the person at the concierge was extremely rude. After having a great trip and ending it with something like that can make a person question if they want to stay at this location again or not.
First trip to NYC. Took our 2 and 4 yo. This hotel was in a great location (stayed Friday - Sunday, outside of crazy of NYSE times). Staff was friendly. Gave great advise on taking the subway with kids (was not issues at all). Close to Red 1, 2 and 3 lines. Quick subway trip to central park and time square. Hotel was clean and rooms were fine.
Loved it so Much floor level 27 gives you beautiful views of freedom tower and 911 memorial...pretty clean and nice friendly stuff...Thanks guys
I had planned and paid for a trip to go to NYC in February. My trip was planned for August. Du to COVID 19 and everything being shut down, I had to cancel. The hotel manager told me I would see a FULL refund within a couple of weeks when I cancelled at the end of June and I have yet to see any refund at all.
The people were very friendly who worked here. The hotel was clean and the room was very nice. All of the decor was up to date and we had a wonderful time staying here! Would definitely stay again! The price was very reasonable for the location also
A fantastic location downtown looking out across the World Trade Center site, fairly quiet as far as Manhattan goes and great accessibility for lower Manhattan activities as well as easy access to Subway lines to midtown and elsewhere. The hotel was clean, smart and easy to access. All Staff were very helpful regardless of their roles and we had no complaints during our 6 night stay - we had two rooms and were staying with three children aged 6-12. One small downside is that the beds arent huge if you tried to sleep two adults in them, though we had to spread ourselves over two rooms so not a problem for us in that regard. Wed have preferred to have had two rooms with an inter-connecting door, but made do with having rooms with good views.Battery Park, Wall Street, the World Trade Center (memorial, museum and observatory) as well as the Oculus / Westfield Shopping center are all in easy walking distance, along with City Hall and Brooklyn Bridge not much further away. Whilst the rooms were a lot of money (to us) they were comparable to other parts of the city and good value based on that. We didnt use the gym facilities or try the dining. I would recommend the hotel, the staff and the location to anyone.
This is one of my new Favorite hotels in NYC! The staff is fantastic from the front desk, house cleaning, and Table 133. Stayed over the weekend for my Wifes Birthday. Location is fantastic, close to Subways and walking distance to South St Seaport, Fulton St Market, Battery park, and lots of great Restaurants. Rooms are very modern/clean and the views on WTC memorial are breathtaking. Big ahout out to Anthony at the front desk. He went above and beyond to make my Wife’s Birthday special and cant thank him enough! As a Titan Member with Marriott he is one of the reasons I will be staying at the CY Downtown my next weekend trip!

Upon arrival, we were met with friendly and helpful staff. This did not waiver for the duration of our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities and personal touches you could ask for. Although we didnt have a sit down meal at the restaurant, we did enjoy the breakfast offered with our stay. The area in which it was staged was rooming and comfortable and the choice of food was accommodating. The area in which this hotel is locating is very convenient to enjoy New York sightseeing experiences. Couldnt ask for more. Already planning our next trip!
My room was very clean (the cleanest room Ive stayed in). The front desk staff was welcoming and took time to answer questions. I was part of a large group for a leadership retreat and the front desk staff was very efficient and checked us in quickly. I really enjoyed my stay.
Overall I had a great time. This hotel was located within walking distance of several of the things I wanted to do. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The only downside was the size of the room which I’m not sure if that is just because it’s New York.
Me and my wife arrived early as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. The stay allowed us to relax in the bar/lounge area and even allowed us to check in early. Everyone was pleasant and extremely helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay again. Thank you so much.
My husband and I stayed here recently on a weekend trip to NYC and we loved this hotel! The price was great, location to the WTC was unbeatable, and the staff was absolutely amazing. Rooms are a good size for NYC, and the hotel is located within walking distance to so many restaurants and attractions in the Financial District. We will absolutely stay here again and would recommend this property without hesitation!
The hotel staff and front desk were so kind and friendly. They took care of us from the start, and gave us complimentary wine for my birthday. The room was wonderful, and I could have stared at the view all day. The whole stay was amazing and Ill be returning if I ever go back to NYC!
Was initially downcast by the parking drop off location, however things took a turn for the better later in the day. The receptionists were nice and the hotel chic looking. However the rooms, though nicely done were small for two people. The location, its proximity to the world trade center and some of its views were awesome.
We love that location, so convenient. Staff was friendly and very accommodating however our room was too hot and hard to sleep in. The air-conditioning did not go lower then 68 which normally would be a great temperature but the room really felt more like it was more like 80°. I asked two different staff members if there was anyway of getting the room cooler. We were advised that is as cool as the room gets. At Our room was good could use a little bit of updating.
This hotel is under construction and was difficult to find initially. The lobby is very small, almost missed it off to the side. The staff is excellent! Very polite and helpful. The “bar” is really part coffee shop part liquor cabinet. We did not actually have breakfast but we did see it and it looked like your standard hotel breakfast. The rooms are very small for a standard American hotel room. Very narrow, you can touch both sides while standing in the walk-in area and does not get much bigger after that. The bathroom is fine, but no bath tub. After walking all through the city all day it would have been nice to be able to come back and take a bath. Overall, rooms were clean, service was excellent, just wish there was a little “more” since the price was so high.
I have stayed at plenty of hotels but i can honestly say that the service that I have recieved from the staff here is off the charts. Right from the moment that I walked through the gates, I was greeted by front desk like I belonged to be there. Check in was a breeze and they were able to give me great recommendations on restaurants around the area. After dinner, I went to the bar and had great chats with Will and Ernest. The service they provided me was beyond what I expected and they were a big factor on what a great stay I had at this hotel. This experience was topped off when at breakfast, I spoke to Brian and told him that I had a headache. He offered to go to front desk himself and get me some tylenol. Any other place, they would just tell me where to get it. He then introduced himself and asked my name. A simple gesture as this spoke volumes to me. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone because of the people that work here.
This hotel is a newer hotel and I was able to book for what i thought was a great price for a weekend night in New York! The hotel has an amazing view and our room actually over-looked the World Trade Center Memorial Fountains. They also have a beautiful terrace on the 6th floor which is great for picture taking! It was extremely clean with modern decor and comfortable beds and pillows! I would highly recommend anyone staying here and was so pleased with our stay. Very safe area and walking distance to restaurants, shopping, subway and 911 museum. Everyone there went out of their way, were so nice and in addition held our luggage until we were ready to leave the city after checking out. Excellent stay and will recommend to anyone I talk to!
The staff here are very friendly and efficient! I paid for a veteran/hero’s room package and received a free upgrade due to my membership and got a view of the WTC to include the 9/11 memorial. The sunset was breathtaking...only issue I had was the room size. It was very shoeboxish and with a king size bed and two people, wasn’t many options except to sit in the bed. I was on the 22nd floor which could have made a difference. Overall the customer service was great!!!
I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Check in and check out was handled swiftly and lrofessionally, and I was able to get a coffee at the cafe at 1pm even though no one else was there. Great rate as well. Room was small of course but thats expected in Manhattan. Kind sized bed was appreciated and not a given in Manhattan. Only negative was construction obscuring the entrance of the hotel, but thats not their fault. There were no issues with noise. Just an all around great experience.
The staff at this hotel was outstanding! My wife mentioned this every day during our 5 day stay. It is rare to be this satisfied with a staff the way we were for this many days. The location is great for lower Manhattan with plenty of restaurants and attractions very close by. If you are going to the 911 Memorial you cannot get any closer. Tons of shopping within a block or two. The rooms were very clean and very well maintained. The size of the room is typical for NYC. I was very satisfied with this property and I would definitely stay there again
My 13 and 15 year old sons and I stayed at this Marriott for 10 days. We were always warmly greeted. The breakfast buffet staff were always cordial and professional. The food service area was very well-stocked and immaculately clean. Our room maintenance staff seemer to be a magical and invisible force who left our room clean and extremely well organized down to the smallest detail, keeping in mind that there were three men in a room with two double beds and an air mattress. The view from our room was spectacular, looking directly at the liberty tower. As a former Army special operator, I was also moved to be able to see the De Opresso Liber horse soldier statue site from the window. We were within easy walking distance from the stock market bull, the Brooklyn bridge and Eataly. SOHO, Chinatown and Little Italy were well within our walking range. Subway access is very easy and the learning curve was quick and gentle for us suburban Texans. I cant recommend this location highly enough.
HORRIBLE. ON TUESDAY I BOOKED THIS HOTEL THROUGH HOTELS TONIGHT, A THIRD PARTY APP I HAVE USED MANY TIMES. THE CHECK IN CLERK WAS NOT THERE AND THEY HAD A DUMB SECURITY GUARD WITH MINIMAL COMMAND OF ENGLISH CHECKING PEOPLE IN. HE TOLD US IF WE BOOKED AFTER 10PM HE DID NOT HAVE OUR RESERVATION AND THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR US. HE EVEN SUGGESTED STAYING IN THE LOBBY AND THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE ONE PERSON! I ASKED THE APP TO CALL THE LOBBY SO WE COULD CHECK IN AND HE REFUSED TO ANSWER THE PHONE! APPARENTLY THE MANAGEMENT LEFT HIM TO DO THE OVERNIGHT SHIFT AND NO ONE COULD HELP ME. I HAD TO LEAVE AND DID NOT EVEN GET OFFERED A REFUND. TRAUMATIC.
Everyone and things was amazing. The team, the room the location. We didn?t spend that much time in the hotel (we were out and about) but loved it all the same. We would come back again. Great location.
Penny pinching evident at breakfast; cardboard plates & flimsy plastic cutlery; not what I was expecting from the Marriott. Despite this the hot food & the OJ were good, although selection was limited. In the rooms we enjoyed a comfortable bed & a good showerOverall the staff made an effort to have a chat; appreciated the car organised for my trip back to the airport & taking care of my bags after checkout.
From the moment we walked in until 2 days later when checking out, the service provided from front desk to housekeeping to Paul at valet was top notch!! I must say the most premier service I have received at any hotel!! Angel met our requests and questions upon check-in immediately and exceptionally!! I called housekeeping to request slippers and extra towels. They were out of slippers but brought the towels up quickly. I asked upon the delivery of the towels when they might get more slippers. He said I believe we may have just gotten some. He went to check and returned shortly with 2 pairs!!! Above and beyond service that one doesn’t normally receive. Another example of unmatched guest service happened when checking out while waiting for the elevator on the 20th floor. First, one of the housekeepers helped my sister turn the cart around to allow for better steering and when the elevator door opened there were two other housekeepers on the elevator headed to a lower floor. My sister said we will take the next one and they said no and stepped off the elevator to allow us to get on. They then proceeded to stay on the 20th floor and wait for the next elevator!! WHAT?? Unbelievable!!! Not to mention the view from the 20th floor corner room facing Freedom Tower and the Hudson!!!! Totally recommend paying the extra money for a corner room view. Floor to ceiling glass and a view that is worth every penny!! Along with a roomy bathroom and very comfy beds! There is also a nice size mini-fridge with freezer. Finally....location, location, location is incredible!! We walked to Brooklyn via the Brooklyn Bridge, all around Wall Street and the entrance to the subway for the 1 Train is right outside the hotel next to the Memorial Pool to go uptown. I cannot say enough about how amazing this stay was. Thank you to all of the staff at the Marriott Courtyard World Trade Center!! You are now our destination hotel when we visit NYC!!
Horrible! First of all when we got there the room they gave us was not touched by the cleaners. When we got to the room the bed looked as if someone just got out of it. There was food all over the room. It was a disaster. Customer service was awful! There was 2 guys who were at the front desk in the night when I stayed there on August 18th 2020. They were just horrible staff and were very sneaky towards us. They were rude and had attitudes and did not treat us well at all. They were also very prejudice and gave other ppl special treatment.
Overall, our stay was okay. The staff and security were very helpful. If they didnt have the answers, they found them. The hotel and rooms were very nice and comfortable. It is a hotel I would highly recommend any other time than this month or the next few. We were upset to check in and go to our room only to find out for ourselves that there was construction going on at the building right outside our window. Sadly, after a beautiful night in the city and a great stay at the hotel through the night, we were awoken to the sound of banging at 6:30 am from the construction site. Some workers right outside our window yelling and talking. Machines grinding metal. The only suggestion I would make to the hotel is to put a disclaimer on the booking site informing customers about this construction. From the looks of it, it may be weeks or months that this is going on. Maybe offer a small discount. I know it is beyond the hotels control, but a courtesy heads up to customers would have been nice.
The location, amenities and staff are all outstanding. Our family stayed in two rooms for three nights. Everyone was thoroughly satisfied will all elements of our stay. The staff at the reception desk were outstanding from check-in to check-out and very helpful with whatever we needed. We highly recommend this Courtyard Marriott and would love to stay again.
Perfect location for a weekend getaway. Very close walk to WTC, a subway, and Wall St. Quick subway ride to Times Square, Broadway and Staten Island. Staff was great, hotel was clean, bed was comfy, nice TV, and the bathroom was spa-like. Bills Burgers across the street about a block away is excellent! Negatives were: no airport shuttle, a trash pickup spot in front at night and some construction next door (little bit unsightly, but no noise). Highly recommend and would stay here again for any trip to NYC.
This was my first time to New York City. I’m 19 so this was my first time reserving a hotelmyself (I’m not sure why it’s saying my age is 61+). There was so much I wanted to do and not enough time. Even though I didn’t get to do everything I wanted to, the hotel made up for it. This is because of the view from our room. There’s nothing like the city lights at night. Overlooking the city, the river, the 9/11 memorial, and One World Trade Center was breathtaking. So beautiful. I could’ve stayed in the room the whole trip and been happy. The room was big and very clean. There wasn’t one thing out of place. The staff were the kindest and most helpful I’ve ever had. Overall, this hotel was the best I’ve ever stayed in. It was not near as expensive as the others during my stay. I would recommend anyone and everyone to come to this hotel. I definitely plan on making this the only hotel I come to when visiting NYC.
I love just about every part of my stay at the Courtyard. I tend to always stay at Courtyard hotels whenever Im out of town. The room was a bit on the smaller side, but I didnt visit new york to stay couped up in my hotel room. The hotel was clean, felt safe, and was quiet. My only gripe was the very expensive breakfast. The food was ok, but a bit overpriced. Every member of the staff I interacted with during my stay was absolutely amazing. I cant wait to come back for my anniversary in November.
Up to date hotel, clean room, comfortable bed, clean nice bathroom. Buffet breakfast. Nice view of hotel from room. Close to subway and Mortons steakhouse and WTC mall. All in short walking distance. Great price compared to time’s square. Will book again at this location
Still currently in the hotel. The hotel is nice and more spacious then most downtown New York hotels. That being said, I was disappointed with my check in process. When I approached the desk and provided my information, then gentleman at the counter said “thanks for choosing us, unfortunately we had to downgrade your room selection and floor preference for your stay” I booked this room well I’m advance and also booked this room based off my preferences being available. For it, I was offered a free breakfast. If I wanted breakfast, I’d pick a place with breakfast. That wasn’t a concern or benefit to my stay. My cost for my room wasn’t downgraded? Just what I wanted? But you still get my money? This was my 1st time staying here as I usually stay in Club Quarters across the street. I’ll be returning there
Love the Courtyard NY Downtown WTC. Absolutely favorite place to stay in the area. Beds are big and comfy. Rooms are nicely appointed with a refrigerator. Love being upgraded to higher floors. Outside noise not an issue.
I always get the same friendly welcome when I walk into a Marriott. I travel for work and pleasure extensively and think of the Marriott as my second home away from home. Great Breakfast and usually a Starbucks in the Lobby or close by. They have been very accommodating and in most cases the Rooms are more superior than other hotels of the same rating in the area. Their rewards program works very efficiently and the points required for a free night is better than any other program I have experienced. Marriott properties are always my first choice when traveling.
We really enjoyed our stay. Friendly employees, comfortable beds, new furniture. The price was better than Airbnb (we stayed in February).
I found the location was great i did how ever think that the construction work would of been a hassle as i read up on hotel reviews before going away but this not not impact my night sleep or stay. Everyone was pleasent and helpful in the hotel. I did not try the food as it seemed very limited but its newyork its mot like i would starve. Would recommend the hotel we stayed for 8 days
This hotel was the perfect location and price for our purposes. Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Every staff member we spoke to, from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant staff, were extremely friendly and helpful.
We arrived and were greeted by the valet (Bernard?) who was very polite and welcoming. He explained the valet process. At the front desk, both gentlemen were friendly and answered our questions about the breakfast that was included in our rate. They also explained the happy hour at the cafe/bar. Our room was very clean but chilly upon arrival. We raised the thermostat by one or two degrees several times but the fan kept turning back on to kick out cold air. We went to the bar for cocktails and the attendant was very friendly, she made recommendations in the area and explained the breakfast, too. At breakfast the next day, the servers were very friendly and notified us when the cinnamon buns were refreshed! At checkout, we checked our bags until we returned from lunch. I called to request the car at 3:18 and was on hold for 8 minutes before someone picked up. (Mostly forgivable since it was check-in time on a Friday afternoon.) She asked to put me on another 2 minute hold and I explained I already held and need to request my car before being charged another day. She took the information and apologized for the hold. When we returned to the hotel at 4, the car was there for us and the valets were very friendly again. Besides the room temperature and long hold time (minor inconveniences), it was a fantastic stay.
December 2018- Clean and beautiful. A classy hotel with spectacular views and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday stay here. I will definitely stay here again.
The place is a little hard to get to by car, but the location is awesome! Room is clean and nice, a bit on the small side but what you expect in NY prime location?Me and my daughters liked the place a lot. Highly recommend having a breakfast or dinner in the hotel, the view is awesome on the balcony!Valet parking is pricy. Would recommend avoid driving there if possible.
Staff were friendly, professional and courteous. Check in was simple and efficient. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting for sight seeing. The view out of my room was AMAZING!
Everyone and things was amazing. The team, the room the location. We didn’t spend that much time in the hotel (we were out and about) but loved it all the same. We would come back again. Great location.
My favorite hotel in the financial district. Its not the fanciest, most expensive place but its really nice, great location, modern & comfortable rooms and the staff is excellent. They also have a great lounge & awesome breakfast. They always get me checked in right away & are very friendly. Ive stayed at all the fancy boutique & big brand places in the area but I always choose this hotel when Im downtown on business.
When I checked in, the front desk attendant was not professional at all. I didnt have the same Marriott experience. Amenities and other hotel features werent quite explained to me. Was there a free breakfast with my stay? I dont know, the front desk person didnt tell me. When I got to my room, I learned that I didnt have body wash in the bathroom. I went back downstairs to get a shower cap and a body wash, he said it would be brought to my room but never made it. The next day, I asked the front desk person, in the morning, to get me a new fitted sheet and I was away from the room the whole day. I came back only to find out that the room was not serviced (also, still no body wash). Also, the heater was making A LOT of noises and it was interfering with our sleep.
Thank you Marriott WTC! Great hospitality I must say. Staff at the front were very knowledgeable and friendly. I needed directions on how to get around to a few places and each time the staff member was great at explaining the directions with much detail. Steps within the World trade memorial and various food options.
The hotel and staff are nice, as was the room. My only complaint was that no where was it mentioned upon booking the room that there was a $65 per day (plus taxes) valet fee for my vehicle. On top of that, you must give the valet 45 minute notice to retrieve your car and if you want your car, its an additional $65. I would say for the price of the hotel, and amenities included you could do better staying elsewhere.
I stayed for one night at the Courtyard while on business. The location of the hotel is convenient to great restaurants, bars, and the subway/PATH. There was construction going on outside of the hotel, but I had no issues with noise. Check-in was quick and the woman at the front desk was very welcoming and polite. The room was decorated nicely and was extremely clean. I encountered other hotel employees who were also very friendly and polite.
Excellent view of NY Twin Towers Memorial and Skyline. Clean rooms and courteous professional staff. Nice breakfast and lunch menu with great ambiance. Would definitely stay here again
Spent one night here on 6/9/2018Pros: very friendly staff. Everyone we ran into was super nice. Room super clean, modern (lots of easily accessible plug-ins/ports. Beds comfortable, quiet rooms. Location excellent. Close to a couple subway locations, the hotel terrace has a direct view of Freedom Tower.Cons: slow elevators/congested during peak hoursWould I say here again. Absolutely. I would look here first before anywhere else. Location plus cost plus cleanliness
Rooms are well laid out. Not large, but its Manhattan. The staff have all been incredibly nice and helpful. The bed is comfortable, and you cant beat location. I will definitely stay here in the future. The only draw back is the valet price is $60 per day...
We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice. The location is nice and central. The only thing i did not like was the view from our room.
The only good thing about the hotel is there location. Its near-by brooklyn bridge, battery park, world trade center. Now lets come to the bad part. I had high hopes for the hotel as it is Marriott. I have stayed in several other 3 star hotels in the states. So far this is the worst experience. They gave us stained pillow covers. One night I was so tired and thirsty. So I called the front desk and requested them to send us some water bottles. To my utter surprise even though they said that they were going to send some water but they didnt! Overall I didnt enjoy my stay there.
Kinda loved everything about this place. Nice room, clean, super friendly helpful great staff! No bottled water in the room and just too lazy to go down stairs to get it but other than that I loved this place.
Due to construction getting into the hotel is somewhat difficult and the lobby area is very small. Complementary breakfast should be offered with the expensive price you pay for the room. The hotel was clean the bathroom was clean the bed was comfortable but there’s no counter space in the bathroom. The view was nice and the location to Ground Zero was excellent.
My teenage daughter and I spent 5 days here with 2 for vacation and 3 for my work. I’ve stayed here before on business and the staff always treats me like a VIP. They treated my shy and soft-spoken daughter with the same respect and kindness while I was at the office. She commented on how nice the staff in the lounge were when she went to get her mid-morning Starbucks and snacks in the afternoon. Everyone made her feel welcome and Marriott should be proud of this staff and management at this location. The construction in the surrounding area can be distracting while finding the hotel but once inside, the view is gorgeous. My daughter spent many hours with a chair facing the windows overlooking the people and the amazing view.As always the hotel was clean, the amenities enough and the staff amazing. The location provides easy access to New Jersey Path, New York Metro, Battery Park, World Trade and amazing views. This isn’t the most upscale hotel in New York as you’re not paying a premium price. It is a fantastic mid-price hotel and I recommend it for business and vacations. It’s a great value.
Stayed at this hotel because of a meeting with American Express a few blocks away. Great location at a resonable rate. Great bed and shower, as usual with a Marriott-brand property. The bar on the 6th floor has a weak selection (my colleague ordered a Moscow mule and they couldnt make it; I ordered a Macallan 12 and they didnt have it). Same spot on the 6th floor offers a decent breakfast buffet in the morning.
This was our first stay in NYC. The staff was very friendly, answered all questions about the area, travel around the city, directions and tours. The staff did everything they could to make this a great experience! Our rooms were very clean and well stocked. The only issue we had was traffic noise at night-if you’re not used to it-it can be difficult to sleep. But overall we loved the hotel and the staff and had a wonderful trip!
Staff were very helpful throughout the stay. Providing water upon departure, answering questions about local attractions, and having the room ready several hours before check-in as soon as we arrived at the hotel. The location cannot be beat, the Financial District is quiet on the weekends and the hotel has several subway stops within a few blocks walking distance, as well as several great restaurants and neighborhood haunts. I look forward to staying here again.
1st day -- Awful. Apparently, the air conditioner had issues; it was out all day in the entire building. After sweating in a 90 degree room temperature, we called the front desk and they promised that an engineer will show up to reset our AC. We waited for 3 hours sweating in the sauna room to no avail. Weve contacted the front desk numerous times for status and theyve stated the engineer is checking on 20 rooms. Unable to sleep in the 90 degree room, weve decided to move to Moxy NYC Downtown with a working AC.2nd day -- The AC was finally fixed in the morning so weve decided to return to the Courtyard instead of staying at the Moxy, which turned out to have terrible mattress. Moxy was substandard and felt more like an AirBnB rental than a Marriott hotel. We were able to return to the Courtyard for the same type of room and rate so weve added another star because everything else was good except for the AC issue on the first day. Of course, it was inconvenient to move to different hotels that can give us a good night sleep with a working AC and comfortable bed. Is that too much to ask nowadays from Marriott?3rd day - What a fiasco. So they rebooked us for only one night. I asked that they reinstated us to the original booking previously, but apparently that did not happened. Now our rooms hasnt been cleaned and they booked us at a much higher rate instead of the original rate. The staff here are so incompetent. Ill never stay in this hotel again.
Overall the stay at the Hotel was excellent. I had two rooms. They need to speed up the construction they are currently performing, as the entrance is kind of weird. Lobby is kind of small, but it does serve its purpose. Rooms with a view to the WTC area are phenomenal and comfortable. Nice in room toiletries. Staff s friendly and courteous. Valet parking is very expensive and you cant come and go, but what parking place is not expensive in New York? I would definitely stay here again..
Clean and well maintained, rooms are the new normal “cozy” NY size which is comfortable for 1 but tight for 2 people. It’s located just a few steps down from the WTC site and Freedom Tower. An Irish bar is next door but there is plenty of shopping and dining places a short walk away. Great place if your staying downtown.
Dec 10, 2018. Greatly enjoyed my stay in this hotel! Room was nice and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a nice lounge and restaurant open to all with free coffee and a couple of unhealthy snacks to get you thru work conversations 😁 until dinner.... And if you have business in the World Trade Center area, you are conveniently nearby without breaking the bank, relatively speaking for a Manhattan hotel.
After a week of business, my daughter and I stayed here for two nights to get to enjoy the city. The views are amazing, staff is overwhelmingly helpful, and the entire stay was more than we could have hoped for! The area is beautiful, and the ability to walk to the pier and view Lady Liberty was everything!!
A little hard to find, has decent view from the room. The front desk service was awesome. Room was not that impressive, I would just stay at Hilton, better view, much cheaper
I stayed here last month for a night and as expected I would have to have my car valet parked. The valet service came with a $70 price tag which was also expected. While my new Mercedes was safely parked by valet there was a substance that was dripped onto my vehicle. Not just a little either it was all down the drivers window and door (when I say substance, I dont mean coffee. This was some something sticky that goo-gone wouldnt even remove). The substance wouldnt come off, it got to the point where I had to have the car professionally cleaned and that didnt even suffice. The door ended up having to be repainted. When I confronted the hotel about the issue they gave me the run around, said they would reach back out and didnt follow up promptly so I had to continue to nag them to get an answer. After weeks of fighting with them they brushed it off as my problem. They wouldnt even reimburse my $70 fee for valet. I wouldnt entrust my vehicle with them ever again. I am a regular at Courtyard by Marriott where I travel so often, but after this they have lost my business. They didnt even try to work with me on the issue.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is going to the NYC area. I usually stay up by Central Park of in Midtown, but I wanted to stay in Lower Manhattan this trip and it was great. The hotel was clean, the employees were nice, and the location is amazing. I read the reviews that others had before booking the hotel and the only negative review I saw was that the rooms were small... well. its NYC what do you expect? I was in a King size room solo and there was plenty of space for even a second person.Highly recommend you stay at this location, you wont regret it.

We loved our stay at this hotel! Front staff took care of all our requests. Hotel was nice and clean, it had all we needed! Also location was wonderful! So close to subways, park, water... we would recommend this hotel to everone. We travelled with 3 month old baby and we were very happy 😊
