If you’re going to stay in NYC, this is the hotel to stay at. While the rooms are small (but not by NYC standards), they are comfortable, modern, clean, with great views. The hotel staff were friendly and the bar lounge had a great vibe to it. It is located near the 23rd street metro and I had no difficulty navigating my way around town from there. The Madison park was great to drink coffee, relax or people watch. If I am ever in NYC, this is where I’ll stay.
Dont forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ .ᴄᴏᴍ when booking any resort. They compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you definitely will love it Im sure!we always stay at this hotel in new york. excellent service, friendly atmosphere, room with a view of the empire and the glate. the dream
The hotel is the amazing. I have travelled extensively and this hotel really does an excellent jib of making you feel welcome. Service is impeccable and a call out to Maddie, Thomas and Mary. They are all amazing! My son lives near here with his girlfriend so I know this will be my bee go to hotel.
Luxurious from the moment you walk in. Youre greeted immediately by the gentlemen at the hotel entrance. Following that is the hypnotizing scent of Le Labo fragrance throughout the entire building. Rooms are moderately spacious yet very comfortable and tastefully decorated. I give it a 5 out of 5 for sure!
I stayed at various edition hotels before, despite this been an older Edition property, this one still glows in me.Location - perfect for me, close to all major public transportation services, Madison Square Park across the street (for Burger lovers, Shake Shack burger is right there!)Room - Original Edition design which is similar to others but this hotel maintains in the good shape throughout the years. Since reopening, things have changed a bit but you will be still able to request most of the amenities and their towels are very fluffy and the mattress is one of the BEST in Marriott system (I prefer their mattress over St Regis/ W/ Sheraton / Westin Beds). Crisp liens and fine AC system.Service - one of the best too. Mike at front desk was super friendly and made me feel truly welcomed. Rest of the teams were nice too but he does stand out and should be recognized. I felt that the service at this particular Edition hotel is more warm and personal than others.Only one complain - the smoke detector lights. It kept blanking every few seconds in the bedroom. I asked Engineer on property and he said that is the way it is. Is it really this case? Other hotels I have never been bothered by it but maybe they can change to a different smoke detector for better sleeping qualityI am glad this Edition finally reopened after months of closure due to COVID. This will remains to be one of my favorite property when visiting NYC.
Very happy with our brief stay. Very nice, clean rooms. All of staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
Visited a guest twice and wasnt stopped or even had to go to front desk to access elevators. Anyone off the street could have just came and gone as they pleased. Security could be alot better.
We always stay at this hotel in new york. excellent service, friendly atmosphere, room with a view of the empire and the glate. the dream
It is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Wish their gym, pool, spa services were there like Whitley or Ritz Carlton tho…
Worth the 700 dollar price lne I dont want that it wasnt worth of clout but it is great hotel for what is it
Stayed here several months ago. You walk in and breathe in the faint scent of Le Labo Noir #29. Check in is quick and courteous. A bank of card-secured elevators give you access to rooms. These are the largest rooms Ive ever seen in Manhattan. Beddings are simply splendid. The table and chairs are a nice touch. The bathroom is large and rather beautiful and is stocked with Le Labo toiletries. The view from the 5th floor was nice. The lobby bar is great for a craft cocktail - met some interesting people there. The Clock Tower is a Michelin star restaurant where every dish was outstanding. The chef came out and seemed genuinely delighted that we enjoyed his creations. The Clock Tower really is a must. Aside from the amazing food, its architectural touches and decor make it look like it is out of a movie. Hotel is a 20 minute walk from Madison Square Garden. The park across the street is best to avoid, not because its dangerous, but because its smelly. Its a lovely walk down to SoHo, Chinatown, Tribeca, and Little Italy from this hotel.
I had to stay here due to issues with my water pipes at home. The hotel staff was very friendly, welcoming and responded very quickly to all my needs. Highly recommend!
L hotel—here cause if cordae
Such a great stay. Pros: Great location right next to Madison Squire and close to Park Ave which allowed me to easily travel to many places avoiding traffics. Very modern and efficiently designed as well as luxurious. What I liked the most was the big and tall wooden table in my room. It was perfect to have a room service breakfast and coffee, which was really delicious. My pancake came with fresh whipped cream, jam and maple syrup. They were all very high quality. The room was just as gorgeous as presented in the website pictures. The front desk was really quick in responding to my messages sent via the Marriott App. Lastly, when I sent an email to ask a couple of things regarding my stay, the relations director (Steven) replied very promptly and offered more than what I expected. I ended up not ordering one but he suggested that he can arrange flowers or cakes to be ready at my arrival. I was very grateful for his personal help. Cons: The Lobby Bar was very crowded. Given that the destination fee provides credits to be used at the bar, lots of guests were there to order something. The check-in counter was also crowded and does not have a member designated line.
Had a great stay at the Edition NYC. Comfortable and well designed rooms. Love the big bathrooms! Very attentive concierge - the best I have come across. Very helpful especially when you are travelling with children. The service was amazing when it was available. We were there for a week, for the first 2 days, they looked to be understaffed. No one at the door to help opening doors for my buggy or help with luggage. Which I found a little shocking to say the least! Especially when it was pouring down with rain outside. Luckily by the 3rd day there were more porters in the lobby and by the doors, which was helpful. I found their staff uniform confusing, it was not super obvious if someone was a member of the hotel staff or just guests. Porters were wearing just plain polo shirts and chinos, with no logos. I understand they might want to keep it cool and trendy avoiding big logos, but sometimes it gets a bit awkward I was hesitant to ask for help in fear of asking the wrong person (hotel guests)!!
My wife and I stayed her for a weekend getaway for my 40th birthday. We had an amazing time and the hotel was perfect. This hotel has everything you need for an upscale hotel in Manhattan. The cleanliness, service, amenities, and location are all top notch. We were able to neighborhood hop very easy from this hotel and there is much within walking distance as well.
Beyond exceptional! Great location, great views, beautiful rooms and the staff couldnt be nicer. Seriously, the staff went above and beyond multiple times to make our stay better and it was very much appreciated. You definitely feel valued when you stay here. From the bar to the restaurant to the rooms, 5 stars all around!
I stayed at The Edition on the evening of my proposal and was blown away by the professionalism and service quality of the staff. They helped make sure that the entire evening went smoothly. I would highly recommend anyone travelling for business or pleasure to stay at The Edition. I cannot thank the staff enough for making an already special night that much more incredible.
The hotel was very contemporary. Lobby was very cozy and chic. Rooms were nice size, especially for a NYC hotel. They were also updated and modern. Bathrooms were quite large. Great selection of in-room snacks and drinks. Overall great hotel!
My wife and I decided to spend the weekend in New York and we booked the NYC Edition for two nights. From the moment we arrived to the day we departed, we had the most memorable experience. The hotel is simply perfect - great vibe, relaxing, beautiful design, great bedrooms (with lots of space!), amazing drinks and food, friendly staff. And the location! the best hotel in NYC in my opinion! I cant wait to come back.
This is still my favorite hotel. The amenities are exceptional. The staff was more than efficient and courteous. The in room dining is excellent and the fitness facility is top notch. I like the location (close to Peleton, across from EMP). The building itself is beautiful and affords excellent views. Although next time I should request not to be placed on the 32nd floor which is one of only two floors without a view (due to an obstructing ballastrade).
Our first time at the Edition and so happy we chose this property. The location is perfect with metro stations nearby, a lovely park and Shake Shack as well as Eataly just across the street. It was absolutely silent during the night which is unheard of in NYC ( we were on the 33rd floor). Staff was outstanding, room clean and spacious. Love the way their elevators run .. you almost always get your own going directly to your floor. We did not eat but did enjoy great cocktails at the lobby bar with the friendly and fun bar staff. Complimentary coffee in the lobby bar was appreciated and delicious. Highly recommend this beautiful space in NYC!
Locationally its a solid spot. The check-in experience can be hit or miss Id say. The elevators are efficient. The public spaces are OK - slightly underwhelming. The fitness center is fair. The rooms are small. The suites are real solid overall. Views are nice. Bathrooms are true to the EDITION form. Simple and nice. Staffing is decent. Its on the better overall mid-upper tier hotels to stay in.
I love this hotel, loved the way it smells, how clean it is and the staff. This was our second time staying at the hotel and I would recommend it to anyone—it’s centrally located. I would have given it a 5/5 were it not for a stained curtain I saw that looked like it may have been blood. It’s easy to miss because it’s on the other side and not visible. Very modern.
I really enjoyed my stay. Great central location in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are on the large side of NYC hotel rooms, have nice high ceilings and sufficient windows to make the rooms light and bright. Also some great views. Bed was comfortable and great toiletries. Staff was very good as well. I had a great meal at the Clocktower and utilized my bar and dry cleaning credits without issue. The bar credit covers roughly two drinks that are in line with prices at most hotels. The lobby bar does play loud music on Friday/Saturday, but is very quiet and peaceful the rest of the week. My only suggestion would be to add some draft beers or a couple more bottled beer options. It’s a good option for business travelers during the week or leisure on the weekends, but not a good option for families with kids. I will definitely stay here again.
Guys, just stay here. Period. My husband and I stayed 9/20-9/22. It was amazing. Such a nice and clean hotel. Not to mention, the fragrance as you walk in is fabulous. Each staff member was kind and accommodating. The bar scene was great and the DJ made it even better. Special shout out to Peter (a bellman), Sal and Matthew (bartenders). They all made our experience worthwhile. Sal and Matthew are true mixologists; we told them what what wanted, and they delivered each time. None of our drinks were even on the menu. They were just that good! We’ll definitely be back- and soon!
Hotels of this stature should hit home-runs in every category but the Edition falls somewhat short. There should not be a lengthy wait for an elevator especially when there isnt anyone waiting for it. Secondly the bar/lounge area should be spotless without stains on the furniture and rugs...along with several pieces of furniture in need of repair. If you are paying top dollar you should receive standards that reflect that. I stay in many high end hotels during the course of my travels and I like clean and updated amenities within the hotel...this wasnt the case here. The staff was amazing but I have to mention that the concierge concept at this hotel is as weird as it gets. A man sitting at a table near the front desk with no description on a computer.....no idea who he was until I asked him what he was doing there. I dont get it. Once again staff was always there for you which is a positive.
The New York Edition is conveniently situated in the Flatiron district of Manhattan right on Madison Park. It is a stylish boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant and two bars. The people there are welcoming, helpful and natural. They have time for you without giving the impression that they are trained to do so. The Clock Tower restaurant is a Michelin one star and cooks modern British food under the supervision of Jason Atherton. The restuarant also makes breakfast, brunch and so on. I loved the breakfasts, which include a full English, although, being a Brit, I stuck to the more traditional American food. The lobby bar is buzzing and the bar staff experienced, efficient and very friendly. They mix a mean cocktail. On the down side, I thought the hotel decor was just beginning to get a bit tired, the rooms were great, but no bath and tiny wardrobes. As such it was a shade expensive. Having said that I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends. I would particularly commend two barkeepers, Morgan and Ian and Michael a doorman.
We arrived weary from a long day of driving in heavy traffic and the check-in staff were super professional, kind, and welcoming. They gave us a drink while we checked in and upgraded us to a phenomenal room - super modern, clean, and with a great view. The staff everywhere were attentive and helpful. Theres a great Eataly across the park for morning coffee and some very nice restaurants nearby. Great experience.
What a fantastic experience at The Edition! Absolutely everything about it was top notch. This is a fantastic location across from a beautiful park near phenomenal restaurants and shopping if you want to special weekend this is the place to stay!
Great location and great building. The room was hot at night which was very uncomfortable and the internet was slow. But the lobby bar was very fun and hip. Good music and good vibes. Overall, I think it’s too expensive for what you get but that’s just me.
My stay at the New York Edition was fantastic. The interior architecture and design of the hotel is one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at in New York. Everything from the amenities, to the lighting, to the attentiveness of the staff was immaculate. Unlike smaller boutique hotels where it looks better online than in person, the Edition exceeded my high expectations. All of the furniture, fixtures, and amenities were of the highest quality, it didn’t feel like any corners were cut in terms of going with affordability over quality. If you appreciate a good bathtub (somewhat rare in the NYC hotel scene), definitely book a suite. The rooms are pricy but you really get what you pay for. I definitely recommend staying at the New York Edition if you plan on spending time in your hotel room and relaxing. Has the curation and attentiveness that makes boutique hotels special without being too small, IKEA-y and bed-and-breakfast-y. Like many New Yorkers, I appreciate a little anonymity in my hotel visits.
Great location on the 23rd street, between Madison and Park Av.Great design, though got a tiny corner room with nice views of the city on the 33rd floor.Service mediocre. The Clocktower (Michelin starred) restaurant not worth the money; better go to Estella (also Michelin starred). As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite guest the only benefit you get is a guaranteed 4 pm check out :(
Enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The rooms and furniture are well designed, stylish, and immaculate. Staff was extremely professional, personable, and helpful, well beyond any expectations for a large hotel group. If you can get the breakfast package go for it, it was one of the better sit down breakfast experiences at any restaurant, much less a hotel. The location and views of Madison Square Park are hard to beat. If you can get a room and especially a package at mid-range upscale hotel prices, definitely a good value. If youre going to pay luxury hotel prices, it may not compete on the level of the best hotels.
I love this hotel. It is private and lux, with a 5-star staff very keen to meet your needs. You dont feel as if you are in one of the massive NYC hotels, but feel cared for. It was safe, with a discrete entrance. Great location - NoMad is very cool, safe, hip and enjoyable. Great bar. Rooms are big for NYC. Spa massage was over-the-top great.
Elegant and sleek hotel in a great part of town. The rooms are minimalistic, modern and welcoming and the staff is at the top of their game. I think this is a great hotel! The restaurant is very good and you have to stop at the bar which has amazing drinks. Madison square park is always worth a visit as well.. playground, art and some entertainment are always just around the next corner
Easy check-in and departure. Room was ready. Staff very attentive and courteous. Always wishing guests to have a pleasant day or evening. Great location. Close to subway. Easily identifiable building from a distance. Extremely helpful for first time visitors. Will stay again.
Amazing hotel, with some of the warmest staff in the city - Queen at the Front Desk is simply the best. However, I will note, on two recent trips - I checked out, and several days later found my AMEX charged with a random minibar charge for $100+ (when the minibar was not used at all...). Each time it was fairly easy to resolve but still a headache and use of ones energy so I caution individuals to triple check their credit cards after their stay at this hotel as these suspiciously appear far too often.

Early check in? No problem. Special requests? No problem. Comfortable king size bed? Yep. Super soft pillows and blankets... Those too!The staff is amazing, and the location is awesome. They anticipate needs, and you get exactly what you pay for. But remember, 5 star service means 5 star price. Anything within is top tier.
The New York Edition is centrally locates making it a great spot to stay if you plan on traveling to various locations in the city! The overall design is minimalistic, clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and the bartenders made an excellent drink! Highly recommend staying here.
Had a 3-night stay at the NY Edition- first time visiting. Loved the room, the bar, the ambiance, music, and location but most of all the excellent staff- from the door man when.we arrived to the reception to the guys at the bar for breakfast to the afternoon staff to the cleaning staff- everyone to a person was so nice and friendly - especially Armando, Matt, David and I wish I knew the other names- we’ll definitely be back! Best hotel experience in NY we ever had.
This hotel was amazing!! The staff and the hotel were first class. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and they treated us like royalty at the New York edition. The location is right by Madison Park and it is very conveniently located within the city.
When I checked in with Bryant at the front desk I had asked him if an upgrade was available as I am a Titanium Elite member and he replied with unfortunately we are fully committed tonight but a few seconds later he said he found an upgrade and assigned me to room number 3702. Before going to sleep on the first evening, 12/3/19, I had called guest services to have a pot of hot water delivered to the room as I drink an herbal tea each evening before going to bed and was told that they could bring me a coffee maker which will heat water for a $45 charge and that they offer complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby in the morning time. I kindly replied and said I do not need a coffee maker in the room (I was surprised there was not one in the room in the first place, especially for the nightly rate at this property) and that all I was requesting was a pot of hot water. The guest services representative responded and said no problem, well get that right up to you. It came within 10 minutes. I continued to request the same pot of water for the remaining three nights out of my four-night stay. On the evening of 12/6/19, I called to guest services and had requested a hot pot of water, just as I had done the previous three nights, and I was told there would be a $10 charge. I had mentioned that I had ordered a pot of hot water the previous three nights and there was no mention of a charge; the representative said that she would make a one-time exception and that I should have been charged the first three nights. The first evening and night were extremely noisy due to the elevators. I called down to the front desk the next morning and they said that they were being worked on and that two of them were not operational. I am not sure what the cause of the noise was from the elevators as the person I spoke with said that they were in the process of completing the repairs and getting the other two elevators back up and working properly. That would have been very nice to know upon check-in that there was going to be significant elevator noise throughout the night. Nothing was ever mentioned to me. Regarding the upgrade, when the maid came into the room to clean the room on 12/4/19, I was already back from my morning meetings and getting work done in the room, I asked her what the regular rooms were like as the room I was in was average size for a NYC hotel room and I couldnt imagine how small the regular/standard rooms are, she replied, this is a regular room. I to
Good comfortable room with an amazing view of the city. Very nicely decorated room that made you feel like home. Bathroom had some mildew and needed some scrubbing. Also requested special items in the room to celebrate my fiancé’s b-day, but never got it. Apparently hotel had 2 groups over the weekend and I assume they couldn’t handle the crowd. Also turned away from the restaurant for breakfast. Maitre’d said 30mins or more wait but the restaurant would closed by the time I could sit down. Strange way to say we can’t have breakfast at the restaurant.
This is our second time staying at the Edition and we will absolutely be back! Amazing service from the staff and team. They really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our anniversary celebration, were well taken care of and had everything we needed. The location is also superb with many restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Highly recommend staying here!
This hotel is so convenient for my office locations in Manhattan. I had a loft suite and it was perfect for the full day meeting I needed to have with my colleague. The hotel accommodated me to have a little extra space so I didn’t have to find another place to meet in the city. It worked perfectly. Room service was phenomenal albeit being expensive for breakfast. The staff was wonderful and Rosalinda was by far my favorite for the nightly turn down service.
We really enjoyed our stay at the New York Edition! The hotel is in a great location by Madison Park but beyond that, the staff are very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms are very clean and inviting and the fitness center is great for a hotel in the city. This will be our new “home Base” in New York!
Our favorite home away from home. Everyone here tries their best to make your experience memorable. Special appreciation to Mr. Aguilar who works tirelessly to achieve excellence. We will return very soon.
I stay in NYC once a month to visit my youngest son who lives and works there. I always choose the Edition. It is a modern and beautiful property. The staff/associates are friendly and extremely helpful. They always greet my wife and me as frequent guests of the hotel. The front desk associates are wonderful and always see that all our needs are met. The Clock Tower is a wonderful bar staffed with great bartenders. It has a beautiful artistic flair, as an artist I find, engaging yet relaxing. The Edition is by far the most interesting and enjoyable hotel I have ever stayed at.

The New York EDITION truly is, in my opinion, the best hotel in Manhattan. The location is incredible being steps away from Madison Square Park and Flat Iron District. The food and entertainment in the close vicinity is amazing and it’s also close to where much of my work takes place. The service here is truly the best. You do not feel overwhelmed with people too eager to help but you also know if you need assistance they’ll be able to notice without you going out of your way to ask. Room service was amazing. I ordered the filet mignon with fries and even brownies which were not offered on the menu but they were able to provide me with some! The overall ambience, the personalities of the staff, and the vibe of the hotel are all reason I prefer it to others in the same category.
Best hotel I have ever stayed at in NYC!!!! I stayed with my girlfriend for her birthday weekend. The staff is so friendly, accommodating, and professional. For myself, my room was not ready at check-in and the staff took me to the bar and offered me a complimentary beverage and food of my choice while I waited for my room. And the icing on the top, as I was leaving in the morning it was raining outside, the staff gave me an awesome complimentary umbrella for my walk to the train! I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future.
Noise in halls is disturbing. This is a cool place. The lobby bar is chic and chill. The decor and rooms are nice. Mattress and bed linens are amazing. Super comfortable. The only complaint I had, but it’s a big deal, was the noise in the hallway outside the room. The doors slam and the door handle mechanism and latches are super loud. You can hear other room doors opening and closing all the way down the hall.
I stay at the New York Edition once a month as a visit my son who lives in Brooklyn. I look forward greatly to each months stay. The hotel has a wonderful flair. The staff is fantastic! They make sure my wife and I have everything we need to make each stay memorable. They always greet us by name and make us feel right at home. The Clocktower Bar has a lovely atmosphere with an incredible amount of photos showing artist working at their craft. The Lobby Bar has a great nightlife and we always end the night with a cocktail there. The New York Edition is now the only hotel I will stay at during my trips to the city.
Hotel was in a great location, across from Eataly. Wonderful staff, great amenities! I love all of the Le Labo products!
Such a great mini trip in NYC. Loved the hotel, the decor, the luxury, the vibe. It was so tranquil. The lobby bar was incredible - such great cocktails and awesome lounge vibes.
Wasn’t super impressed, but it’s a nice hotel. The only redeeming factor was that staff was great. The cons - We ordered room service since we arrived so late from JFK and the buttermilk chicken was awful - it was over deep fried and I don’t think there was much actual chicken. The lock battery on our room died - couldn’t get into the room, so that was an issue. Elevators are slow - we waited 10 minutes for an elevator to go to our room on 38, didn’t come so took another elevator then took the stairs to get to our floor.
The hotel is excellent, and we really appreciated the modern room stylings and fashionable bar area. Rooms are very comfortable and bathrooms are huge (for NYC anyway). Location was great for a weekend getaway - quiet around the hotel at night, but midtown location was perfect for sightseeing. One area of improvement would definitely be rewarding Marriott elite members. I stayed as a Platinum Premier member and other than the bonus points at check in, I felt like I was treated the same as someone who booked through an OTA. Definitely dont expect an upgrade for Platinum members. But a great hotel overall and I would stay there again for sure.
Everything about the New York Edition screams 5 stars! From the moment you walk in until check out you will be enamored with this hotel. The lobby itself, which loops around the bar, is a giant photo opp / place to get a drink. I recommend the signature Owl drink, mixed by their talented bar staff (shout out to Tony). We were also sketched at the lobby bar - apparently the hotel hires a sketch artist for their patrons. Truly, the NYE pays attention to details.Take the spiral staircase one floor up to enjoy a meal at The Clocktower. Strongly recommend their French Toast for breakfast - it is unlike any other. Pop in to the other room for a game of pool.Your room is equally beautiful and comfortable. We received a touching welcome gift (with some of the most delicious black and white cookies Ive ever had). All in all, I recommend the New York Edition wholeheartedly. Cant wait to go back!
We were traveling to visit family in the area and decided to get one night away for ourselves. We were able to check-in early, which was helpful to not have our bags with us while exploring during the day. When we returned from dinner, there was a chilled bottle of bubbly waiting for us as a complimentary gift, along with a handwritten note. It was a wonderful surprise for our trip, and we enjoyed the bottle before going out for other drinks nearby. The staff were wonderful every time we interacted with them, and we will definitely be looking at repeating this little escape whenever we are home visiting family. The EDITION was a great splurge!
Service here is excellent, staff won’t hesitate to go the extra mile for your needs. Nice modern and contemporary vibe. Room rates are generally pretty competitive for the room size and location,
The staff were so so friendly and helpful, always greet us when we leave or return. The location was perfect, right by everything I need. Few minutes to Subway stations, right in front of a park and restaurants down the street. Room was clean and neat, spacious and a great view of the city. Love love love it!
We had a friend who was staying here, so we popped by after dinner for a night cap and some dessert at the second floor bar. Atmosphere was nice and the crowd was a bit older. Drinks were good and the apple pie like dessert they had was really tasty. Served piping hot and a great size for the three of us. The server who took care of us was really nice and made sure to check in on us every now and then to make sure we didnt need anything. Id return again if I was in the area.
I returned to my room on Wed, May 9th at 3 PM to find the room had not been cleaned. The maid showed up around 3.30 and offered to clean the room (she was very nice and I am sure very busy). I did not feel like leaving as I had been gone for 8 hours. I then found out I had to leave early (I was meant to check out the next day). I booked a flight and left for the airport. I did NOT press the front desk about a discount or a refund. They said I had to pay the full price, and I accepted that and left. Upon arrival in California, I found that I had left an Apple charger and a nice G-Star jacket in the hotel. The security staff was polite but said nothing was found. I then called back the next day and was told nothing was found and they could not check the room as it had been re-sold. So the hotel made 2x by charging me and other guest for the same room (which I assume they finally cleaned) and someone got a nice jacket and an Apple charger. It is a nice hotel, with great location and some nice staff, but trust is essential.
Great Hotel! The location and views are excellent. The staff is fantastic at supporting the every need of a guest. Subway is just around the corner and can get you almost everywhere - highly recommend. Parking is $70 a night if you bring your car... we had to go up-state.. hence we had to pay. Lobby Bar is very busy and hard to find seats - we spent three nights and only once found seating in chairs. Room views are excellent from Empire State, Brooklyn Bridge to parks etc... Big widows in every direction, close blinds for privacy - or enjoy the views. Would defiantly stay again and recommend to friends. Note - hotel signage from outside is limited - so make sure to get familiar with street view before going if you are not uber to the door!
I stayed a week at the New York Edition Hotel for the first time. I had a suite with incredible views of the park and surroundings. My suite was spacious and well laid out. Bathrooms were really cool and are provisioned with signature amenities. Service was terrific, as was the food. The restaurant is lovely and has an impressive array of photographs adorning the walls. Staff at all levels were excellent. Polite, efficient and personable. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.
The hotel is beautiful, well decorated, smells incredible. The staff is courteous and helpful. The restaurant excels only for breakfast. Dinner service is overpriced and subpar in terms of food quality. This hotel has no business center nor meeting rooms. We were in need to use a business center and a computer for an unexpected business matter, to no avail. We had the unfortunate event of some sort of meeting right next to our private room running all moring from 8 am. The noise of people talking and walking across the room was an annoyance. I have no idea why the hotel booked a private room as a meeting room and also that we were not notified about this beforehand. Other than that, the hotel rooms are wonderful and clean. The bed was very comfortable.
The Edition NY provides an excellent location in a beautifully repurposed, iconic building with classic modern design, more timeless than trendy & with great amenities & service. It’s a very elegant yet active place. One can choose to recede & relax or join several different progressively active venues. The lobby lounge is chic & fun. The Tower restaurant is elegant, entertaining, & top drawer.
My room was exactly as pictured online. The room was impeccably clean and the bed and linens were comfortable. Turn down service closed my blinds and drapes and left bottles of water. This was so lovely after moving my daughter into NYU for a summer class. I heard zero street noise and the view was amazing. However, I did hear everything that went on in the hallway and when I was in the hallway I could hear people in their rooms. That was disappointing. The people were lovely and I felt very safe in the hotel.
Great location. Ive stayed in New York many times and I think this was my favorite hotel spot. Right next to shopping and eating plus a beautiful park and public transportation. The actual hotel is great and swanky nice livable luxury vibe. All the food I ate daily from the bar for breakfast or late night was delicious. No complaints. Rooms can be a bit small but for NYC not so bad! I would stay here again!
Edition Hotel and bar on second level is a go-to for great drinks, relaxed atmosphere with a somewhat diverse crowd. Well dressed me casually dressed. Not stuffy. Have a pool table in one room and a library like room in another where you can join friends or yourself and enjoy your drink of choice. Or sit at the bar room and enjoy drink there. Very well done. Bartenders are great, friendly. Can go there solo to de stress after long day or meetup with friends. Prices are fair for what is provided - a good time.
Stylish, welcoming and the highest level of customer service. Having stayed in many hotels that claim to be at ‘the top of their game’, you soon realise who self proclaims their titles and who truly deserve them. The New York Edition is a hotel that truly deserves every credit it receives. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and make you feel completely at ease, whilst always going above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. The hotel it’s self is very tasteful decorated and smells amazing with The Edition’s own scent. The location is perfect and if you pay that little extra for a room overlooking the Empire State Building it’s really rewarding with the most stunning of views to wake up and go to sleep to. I would honestly recommend this hotel to everyone who’s considering a stay in New York and we can’t wait to try their other establishments very soon!
I stayed at the New York EDITION for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The service was always warm and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable. I loved that they were well lit which is often a problem in many dark hotel rooms. The morning coffee service in the lobby was a bonus too. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Flatiron area of NYC. Its a great neighborhood with a beautiful park across the street. I will definitely return!
The converted old Met Life Tower is a gorgeous building in its own right, dominating Madison Square Park. The interior matches the beauty of the outside, all pale marble and modern, understated design. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms are immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. And the views - my goodness, the views! We had a deluxe room, which was a corner room on the 34th floor overlooking Madison Sq Park and the Flatiron from one set of windows and the Empire State and Madison Ave on the other. Its location is perfect for exploring downtown and midtown and it has plenty of options nearby for very informal dining (the original Shake Shack is right outside!) right through to the Michelin-starred restaurant in the hotel. Overall, we had an amazing stay in a beautiful, historic building. I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough.
Im a Marriott kind of guy and this hotel screams, Stay here. It hosts a spectacular restaurant and lounge in the Clocktower. Across the street is a beautiful park that is an excellent place to relax. Gorgeous views from the hotel and park at night. Very upscale with a courteous professional staffs. Common areas in the hotel are beautifully decorated, rooms are excellent...
A wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was perfect, we slept well and looked forward to returning at the end of each day having been out exploring the city. We didnt want to leave and will definitely stay when we return to New York again in the future. This was a birthday trip which we had been looking forward to for a long time so thank you for making it such a memorable experience of NYC.
Service and style set this hotel apart from the other wonderful NYC luxury properties in the area. From check-in to late night drinks at the bar, the service was perfection. The lobby was humming with activity well into the evening. On the other hand, the rooms are quiet (and extremely stylish) with amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. Every detail is well thought out, from the bed’s faux fur throw to the Le Labo bath products.
Comfortable, well-designed rooms with great views. Found the common areas a little small. Great hotel overall, top choice in ultra competitive NYC.

ProsElite Benefits Delivered: All due Bonvoy Elite benefits delivered. Always appreciated!Location: Great location. Walking distance to Curry Hill.Hospitality: Great hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and service is great.
Apart from a few broken items in our room the stay was 5 star. Staff was very attentive and accommodating with all requests. Bartenders where very social and knowledgeable, restaurant and serving staff where amazjbg in every way, cleaning staff almost psychic and the front desk and door staff where extremely helpful. A true service experience.
The New York Edition is the only hotel my wife and I stay at while visiting our son in NYC. We stay monthly and the experience is always wonderful. The staff is tremendous and the hotel has a lovely unique decor. I would highly recommend a beverage at the Clock Tower Bar and a night cap at the lobby bar. A great place to stay in a lovely location in NYC!
I am not the type of person to celebrate for my own birthday, but since I was turning 30 I decided to treat myself to a stay at the New York EDITION. I was looking for an overall relaxing experience and thought that the EDITION offered a classy and elegant environment, and I was pleasantly surprised. From check-in I was treated extremely well by the attentive staff, and had all of my needs met. I would love to have stayed longer and definitely look forward to staying here (or at other EDITION locations) in the future.
My first taste of The New York EDITION was a trip I wont soon forget. The drinks in the lobby bar were intriguing and delicious as we waited for our room to become available. Our concierge was very sociable, attentive and upgraded us to a suite overlooking the park. Both room and service were a perfect respite from the sensory overload of the city. 10/10 would stay again.
Recently stayed at the NY Edition for a family event over the weekend. Although the weather was not cooperative, we had a fantastic stay at this property. The location was perfect if it had been nicer we would have taken advantage of the Madison Ave Park directly across the street. We shopped and visited local attractions, this hotel is in a very central area close to everything! Uber or Cab rides were less than 15 minutes to all the different places that we visited. Great Hotel, definitely will stay here again.
We have been coming to NYC at least 4 times a year for business and pleasure. We recently started staying at the Edition hotel in Madison Square Park and have been blown away. The elegance and quality of service is unsurpassed and the location gives easy access to any desired location for shopping, dining, and recreation throughout NYC. The on-site restaurant The Clocktower has recently earned a Michelin Star which only adds to the cache and total quality received when staying at this hotel. We cannot wait to get back to the Edition!
Overall great experience at the Edition! Very modern rooms with a lobby bar tailored to a younger crowd. The larger rooms although pricey, have very comfortable furniture. The king sized bed was very comfy, however the pillows were not as firm or thick as I would have expected. I will definitely consider the Edition when planning our next trip to New York.
The New York Edition was an excellent experience. I visited the Ritz back in April and I was extremely satisfied with that experience also. Staff at both venues made me feel like an elite guest and the accommodations were A-Plus.
The genuine happiness of the staff percolates over to satisfaction of the guests in this wonderful hotel. Lightness, brightness with a touch of old architecture comforts the guest. Great place to jump off into NYC!
Great stay over Memorial Day weekend.I am quite familiar with The Edition concept, as they have a beautiful property in Miami Beach. This one is in a great location--literally across the street from the original Shake Shack in Madison Square Park and close to the subway. Very walkable to lots of great restaurants, neighborhoods, and shops (Eataly, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Park, NoMad, etc). When I booked I mentioned I was coming in for my birthday. The hotel ended up upgrading my room (with nice view of the Empire State Building) and had a complimentary chocolate mousse cake waiting for me upon arrival. Great touch! The room was larger than average for NYC, with a nice sized bathroom. The staff was quite helpful and courteous. I requested a late checkout and was given until 2PM. Overall, quite pleased with my visit and would most definitely stay here again.
My husband and I recently stayed at The New York Edition in Midtown. We were plesently greeted by doormen and the hotels signature scent. We received a room upgrade with a view of the city. The room was spacious and black light clean. The rain shower was awesome. The room attendants were very attentive and left hand written notes with dessert daily in celebration of my birthday which made our stay memorable. The only criticism is the bed and pillows were not comfortable. Overall we will stay at this hotel again and recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for your hospitality New York Edition staff. A quick family trip over spring break to visit my son and his wife in NY and squeezed in a business meeting. Terrific location for easy train/cab/uber access to Midtown, East and West Village. Was able to combine shopping on 5th Avenue with MOMA, and Morgan Museum tours. Madison Park is nice break from all concrete and a great way to get a little exercise in the morning. Food, coffee and shopping right around the corner. Staff and service is outstanding. All rooms have wonderful views and if you get the right one you will have beautiful night view of the Empire State Building or the Flat iron Building. The website pictures are pretty accurate!
