Hotel was clean which is certainly very important these days. The rooms felt a little outdated compared to other W hotels I’ve stayed at and there was a lack of amenities such as no Nespresso machine yet alone even a coffee machine. The city views from the 53rd floor were good but I’m sure other locations can offer better. The staff were friendly and accommodated my stay with an early check in since my flight got there early in the morning.

They are located right in Times Square. I love the location. The staff was great to deal with. We really appreciated them letting us check in early. My husband had never ridden in a cab before so he didnt feel well once we arrived. Because of that he got to lay down for a while until he felt better. Kudos for that. I do want to mention that the windows could be cleaned and the pillows were not the best. We asked for a firm pillow and they brought up the same one. I appreciate them bringing us another one but a different one wouldve been better. I would say that these are not deal breakers for me. I would stay here again.

I don’t write too many reviews but I want to point out that this hotel is not worthy of the 4 star rating. The rooms are extremely aged and have more of a motel vibe. I paid to upgrade to a corner view room and it was underwhelming. What kills the vibe the most is white lights in the room. I’d recommend choosing a holiday inn that would probably be more value for money in the area.

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the W for a night because we heard it being hyped up. When checking in, they werent that warm and welcoming. Our room had the weirdest lighting, it took us a while to figure out how to turn the lights on. The room definitely looked nicer on the website. The closet was also bright pink and that same bright pink was on the border of the glass table which I thought was tacky. None of the furniture looked new which was surprising to see at the W. Also, there is no privacy when it comes to the bathroom. The blurred door isnt that blurred. There was no mini fridge in the room either. However, we were only staying for a night so the room we had was fine for the time being. All in all, the W isnt all that. We would not stay here again.

At a central location over Time Square is a nice hotel if you are planning to spend timeon Broadway and the stores around. Keep in mind if you want a quiet area of the city this is certainly not the area to choose. The lobby is located at the 7th floor. They have a bar that closes around 12:30 (which is early if you want to drink and talk with friends without leaving the hotel). The rooms are ok, housekeeping is great, front desk staff was amazing.Although the property is not new, it has been renovated. I wish the bar was open longer. Their TV channels is extremely limited and lacking of content. The roomHad an empty small fridge that is convenient. They were nice about checking in early as well.

For a W hotel in Times Square it left a lot to be desired. The rooms werent well maintained, the floors were dirty and sparsely vacuumed (there were piles of hair under the furniture), the bathroom and shower doors didnt close, the lights didnt all work, and the windows were black with dirt. To top it off they couldnt hold our bags after checkout past 5pm. Ive received better service with similar quality rooms at the cheaper boutique hotels around the corner.

Other than that, do not expect this to be your typical W Hotel experience. Negative: The bathroom is odd. This hotel was amazing. By far the biggest and nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in in the city. But I will say, I was here on a family vacation and the bathrooms were extremely awkward. The bathrooms in our rooms (we had 2 rooms) had transparent walls, so you never had real privacy in the bathroom because your shadow is visible. Besides that, the atmosphere is very cool, and conveniently located.

Disappointing!I’ve stayed at some amazing W properties around the world, but this is not one of them. The rooms have seen better days. The color plastic decorations are cracked, the wallpaper is bubbling and peeling, the shower was moldy and tile cracked. Our room was also quite dirty and dusty. It’s in a great location right in Times Square. If it was a Days Inn, I wouldn’t post a review. But this is the famous, luxury 4-star W hotel.Half the lobby was closed, they didn’t have luggage stowage, and no bar. The staff was great at checkin and checkout, but that doesn’t make up for the room quality.

Stayed at this nice hotel in the middle of Times Square NYC and loved every moment of my stay. The staff were very warm and the service great. The rooms are quite average but the location and convenience of being in the middle of everything just blew me off. You get to see what’s happening right at the ticket stands from your hotel window if you are lucky to be given a good room. You can also move easily to watch a comedy at the comedy club which is a short distance away. All the musical theaters are within walking distance and all my favorites restaurants in NYC were a stone throw away. After the COVID 19 lock down, I will be making my way back to this lovely hotel as it’s certainly been added on my best hotels to stay at in NYC list by far. Try it out, you won’t regret it.

I researched the Marriott properties in New York City prior to our trip and chose this property. The staff was welcoming even before we arrived. I made arrangements for the #ILoveBroadway treat to be in the room when we checked in & it was awesome. Thank you to Melissa in reservations for reaching out to the concierge staff when I called. Jarrod & Priscila helped to make that happen. Thanks to Priscila again for the card when we checked in welcoming us for our first trip to the city for a girl’s trip. Thank you to Nicholas when we checked in for being so kind & helpful. The property’s location is convenient. The door staff is friendly. I even made it to the gym while we were there (even after all the walking). I utilized the weight room & it was perfectly sufficient for a good workout. Our room was the Spectacular double bed room & our view of the city was exactly what we’d hoped for. A lovely hotel with amazing food and service. Great menu, you can eat every day in the room without running out of choices, and everything is delicious. The bedrooms are streamlined with only one drawer, and two clear plastic cubbies in place of nightstands. Bathroom has only a standing shower, no tub, and is designed poorly, so you have to stand in the path of a blast of cold water to turn it on. The same immobile glass wall, that you cant reach around to turn on the shower, also covers only half the length of the shower, so lots of water splashes out. No full-length mirror, so check how you look in your outfits before you arrive. Still, bed is very comfortable, pillows are soft and puffy, and there is a huge swing TV mounted on the wall, with plenty of channels. No microwave, and the mini fridge is completely filled with minibar items, so dont bring leftovers back to the room. Reasonably quiet most of the time if you are not too close to street level. Great location for all Broadway shows.

Overall quality of the common areas (lounge, restaurants etc.) was amazing. Location for a stay after a Broadway show cant be beat. However, the room itself had major issues; the TV didnt work (fixed), the toilet didnt flush (fixed), and most importantly the air conditioning didnt work (NOT fixed). Youd think a Feburary night would be comfortable with the window opened a crack, but no air blew in. Set on 62 all night, the unit just blew out semi-hot air. I understand youre really paying for the location and name of the W Times Square, but working air conditioning is such a basic need Id have stayed somewhere else just to get a good nights sleep as thats really all I needed as we just went in to Manhattan for a show (To Kill a Mockingbird which was incredible!)

This is a modern and very nice property to stay. cozy, and with few rooms by floors. As a family of three, when we travel we like to have space for all of us, so we booked a suite room, which had two different areas with two televisions, separate closets, one clean and a half.Hotel location is perfect! in the middle of one of the favorite area in New York, Times Square and walking distance of Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, 5th Avenue, among others. In my personal opinion, they have opportunity to improve some different things inside the room, such as the location of the safe box, which was at the top of the closet, behind the entrance door, moving to the bedroom closet, as well as, renew or condition the curtains, wall papers which some of them are unglued and the metal cabinet of the bathroom which have mold. The W was my first choice because we visited this same hotel about 22 years ago. I wanted to create a similar ambiance and it was fairly nice. We stayed on the 56th floor in a corner room. The valet is good and our greeters were nice. The room smelled really clean and fresh which is extremely important to me. The only snafu was the television sound on different screens was a screeching annoying static. I complained and received a $28 credit for the destination fee. The lady bartender was rude and took other customers ahead of me. The male bartender tended to me but I only ordered ice water at that time. Overall it was good. I was quite hesitant on booking at the W after reading the reviews. However, I wanted the location and the pics looked amazing. I couldnt disagree more with the reviews! Dont listen to them! Going to the 7th floor is not a big deal to check in. Its very simple to ride up in an elevator and someone is always there to help if you get lost. Plus the entry is so cool with the water feature. The staff was absolutely amazing! We did not encounter one rude person. Adam, a doorman, was incredible and spent so much time helping us find restaurants and navigating the taxis. Chris literally spent 15 mins on mapping out a train and subway route followed by an uber to a college visit for my daughter on his own cell phone and even took the time to find the cheapest option for us by comparing the prices! The next day, he followed up with us and talked to my daughter about college choices and serving in the Military! Incredible! The concierge folks were incredible and knowledgeable about the best shows and cheapest way to see Broadway! They were so kind to store our bags after we checked out and worked to help us get to the airport when we picked up our bags. They even negotiated rates for us!Some reviews indicated that the hotel was not clean. So wrong! Housekeeping was so kind and detailed! They would see us leave in the morning, verify they could go in and clean, talk with us, and leave our room spotless! We did experience our toilette not flushing, but we told housekeeping as we were leaving and it was promptly fixed!I looked for the dirt, old, worn out, and uncomfortable things that people posted in their reviews, but could only see where people that had stayed in the past had damaged things. Perhaps if people would care more about helping keep things neat, tidy, cared for, and clean; the rooms decor, paint, and walls would stay looking nicer...longer.I highly recommend this hotel! The location is good but I strongly dislike hotels with a glass bathroom wall. When you go into the bathroom and turn on the light, the entire room gets flooded with light. This means no midnight bathroom visit and no early shower without waking up your partner. I rarely complain or give negative reviews but I would never stay in this hotel again. I would stay at the Marriott Marquis as that is an amazing hotel. My biggest complaint? When I asked if there were any rooms without the glass bathroom wall, I was told there were none. But when I checked out, they told me that I could have requested a paper light blocking shield. Too little too late. Not special just good location and a glass wall bathroom is a horrible idea that only young people like.

Bed mattress is one of worst Ive ever sleeper on. For almost $600 per night it is unacceptable. Also the view on Times Square from 41st doesnt make sense when the windows are so dirty.. 3 stars only for location. Personally will stay away from this hotel.

You think the W in Times Square - one of the most luxury brand options in the immediate area - is totally safe and clean. Think again. I travel a decent amount for work and pleasure and hold status with the Marriott brand. First of all, there was absolutely no acknowledgment of my status or that I was eligible for an upgrade until I reminded me. The first upgrade was supposedly a view of Times Square (if you went out and looked to the side) and smelled like someone just bathed in the cheapest cologne they could find. I exited as quickly as I entered. I went downstairs for the second time (after a hefty travel schedule... I was exhausted) and they seemed to have my back up room (knowing I wasnt going to accept that one?) available by the time I got to the desk. This one was a real upgrade and it made me wonder why you didnt just upgrade me to this one in the first place. Nonetheless, I was too tired to think of it so I went to sleep almost immediately. The next morning proved me waking up to stains on the curtains and in the bathroom, the bathroom just generally not feeling clean at all. Then I went to the platinum breakfast where I was only offered bread, bread, and bread. I understand the concept of a continental breakfast, but theres usually some sort of healthy offering as well in all the other Marriotts that have offered me something apparently comparable. I asked for a banana and was informed there would be an uncharge. So I spent $10 in bananas this week. I also spent an additional $100 in bottled water since there is no lounge at the W for status holders. Fantastic location, but the rest of everything is such a shame. Next time I have to be in the city for more than one day, Ill be trying any other hotel there. Not the W.

Nice hotel. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Room 4009 was small, but very clean and well-appointed. Great city view! Perfect location. Near all theaters and so many restaurants.

I do enjoy this hotel, but ask for, or bring an eye mask and earplugs. If you are a light sleeper these make a difference. The staff is super nice and the bar in the lobby floor is cool.

Ive always been a fan of the W Hotels. They try to accommodate to what you need and have very comfortable beds, sheets, pillows, and bedding. This location is smack-dab in the middle of Times Square. You walk right out into all of the action and the lights. If thats your thing, I would recommend this hotel just for that alone. But the rooms here are nice, they are spacious in consideration of being in the middle of Times Square. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are nice.No complaints, would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the W Times Square. We booked a WOW Suite for our wedding and were upgraded to the Extreme WOW Suite, which was beautiful! But the best part was Paola Henao. Her service was unbelievable - from helping us set up our block to even providing us with some wedding gifts at the end of the weekend. She was so responsive, anticipated our every need, and made us feel like everything was taken care of. The service was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is swanky and modern and centrally located in Times Square if thats where you want to be located. The bar is great and there are a few good restaurants as well.
