Stayed here with my girlfriend for Valentines Day. Highly recommend the Cool Corner King room. Great hotel for couples. Very cool and relaxing indoor and outdoor lounge areas. Very close to the subway and great if you want to visit the freedom tower, 9/11 museum, statue of liberty. Thank you for the great service W Downtown New York!

Hotel is in great location and is well updated with a balcony in lobby overlooking the Freedom Tower. Concierge was helpful with dinner options but check-in person had to force being nice and not authentic at all. Bar was very nice but also extremely expensive. Rooms are new and updated with amazing shower but bed was too firm and uncomfortable. Definitely request a room with a view of the Freedom Tower. Just amazing, especially at night.

Customer service here is great, and the room was fabulous. The views are awesome as well. I highly recommend this hotel. This is coming from someone who has stayed in a lot of similarly rated hotels. I recommend a corner room if you can get one. Views are unreal and it is pretty spacious by NY standards.

It’s a lovely hotel. A little smaller than the other W hotels. Definitely one of the the best downtown hotels. But the staff make W hotels really and this hotel is no exception. Always helpful and ready to do what they need to make your stay better.

I booked this place to have a nice weekend in the city. Their room look very nice for the price. They have a large Lounge area by the reception area. This lounge is nicer than most lounges in NYC. Its a hidden gem. Too bad the DJ sets are empty and going to waste. Nice place but no entertainment.

This hotel was very nice. Loved the ambience. Dont touch anything in the bar. Can of soda... $6. But aside from that, it was a very comfortable stay, the staff was wonderful and attentive, and I hardly wanted to leave my room. They lost one star because the restaurant was closed during my stay, which left me prowling town for my meals. That interfered with my desire to just relax. Would definitely stay again... when the restaurant opens.

The loveliest staff there is! Got a free upgrade after they learned it was my birthday and got a few treats to celebrate. Thank you to the manager for being so accommodating when I needed a room change. If youll be staying here, the king corner rooms are worth it!

Everyone here is very friendly, and the atmosphere is quite swanky. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The restaurant has been closed, so there is no food to review, but their bar is open starting at 3 o’clock. The outdoor, wraparound terrace, is really nice, but the lighting is obnoxious and unsettling. The view from our room is amazing and the window seat is big enough for two.

The W Hotel is amazing! Its in a great location near the World Trade Center and easy access to the Subway. The staff is extremely accommodating, and the concierge was very helpful! She helped us make food choices, and booked some events for us. This place is a great place to stay!

Very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room clean although we were given a disabled room which could have done with a refurb. Downside for us was lack of restaurant and comfortable lounge area. Would certainly recommend it.

I read these other reviews and was prepared for rudeness. But we were greeted kindly by the doorman and the front desk - even drinks service on the terrace was great! Our room was really nice and when we checked out the young man could not have been sweeter. I would come back tonight if I didn’t have to work tomorrow. Honestly, paid $600 for one night in a dirty room (didnt seem very clean) and the king beds felt suuuuper small like a queen. Concierge and front desk was OK. Restaurant is under renovation so that was also a little annoying since I love the W room service. Also, I love how the W uses Bliss products – they dont have those at this hotel. I think Id recommend staying at the Times Square one unless you need to be closer to the Financial District.

Room was average. Had a fabulous grade room. Ive stayed at many W Hotels and this was not anything special. Room service doesnt start until 6am so if you want to get up early and work in your room its not good. I ordered a bottle of beer in the bar area and was charged $12. Just a Brooklyn Lager. The location is good. Not very well staffed. Sometimes they dont answer the phone. After I left they charged my card 3 times for the one stay. Took days to get it reversed.

Fantastic experience! Tracy at the front desk was BEYOND accommodating by allowing us to check out as late as we needed after a visit to the emergency room and a resulting missed flight. She deserves every promotion and a huge raise for DOPE customer service and for having a positive energy and kind spirit. Hotel was beautiful, clean and comfortable.

Bed was very comfortable & it’s nice they have treats out at happy hour, but the hotel is pretty dark....everywhere. I could get past all the darkness if the bathroom in my room had better lighting, it was too dim. Any woman who wears makeup knows good lighting is important. Each day I did my makeup I kept my fingers crossed I didn’t end up looking like a clown.

The location of this hotel is amazing. Steps away from all the world trade center sites as well as the statue of liberty and wall street. The lobby is very nicely decorated and has a great modern look with great music. The lounge is very nice but the drinks are on the expensive side (even for NYC). Staff was pleasant and the rooms were nicely equipped. However the rooms are showing their age a little. Lots of scuff marks on the walls and damaged carpet. Overall though the issues are not enough to ruin the stay. Id recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the downtown area.

Very nice space. Indoor swanky decor with some outside seating. Unisex bathrooms. The price is a bit high for drinks but you are paying for decor and location. I still think its a great place to bring out of towners to give them the appearance of a very high end place.

I would have given 0 stars but out of respect for the staff that interacts with customers I am giving 1 star.My story goes like this. I stayed at this W for three nights. I trusted them and their valet with my Porsche Cayenne turbo. I paid 70$ a day! They damaged my vehicle and 22 days later they still ignore me. They dodge me by referring me to the company they lease their parking needs to. This company denies my claim and hotel management has done nothing to resolve this. Excuse me W hotel, but I paid you and you took my money. Now man up, acknowledge your fault and fix my car.Folks, the hotel is in a great location. But don’t trust your car with them. It may cost you way more like it did me.

Awesome, awesome location, friendly staff, lovely decor. Beds were comfy and bathroom was spacious.Could use a good cleaning, construction obstructed the entrance and made it difficult to find.

Very trendy, loud, upbeat lobby with friendly staff. Small but fun rooms, coffee service on request, good quality toiletries. Our room overlooked an old church that was very cool to look at while I worked at the desk. Bed was a little soft but still comfortable.There are more than normal cosmetic damages to the room

MY STAY WAS EXCELLENT. The service and the concierge at the W were superb. Now the food and beverage talent coach Kamil Ward was the best he made the night club Magnificent the staff was Outstanding I will stay he again and again and again.

Absolutely a must stay. Caitlin and staff did everything to make our anniversary weekend special (and make me look good w my wife). Champagne, rose petals on the bed, upgraded room. Perfect location, gorgeous rooftop terrace. I will never stay anywhere else in SF.

Remarkable location for visit to 9/11 Memorial and new World Trade Center. But must say that total lack of ANY dining option (including breakfast and room service) is a real black mark. Be Forewarned. Typical chill W vibe but...

Not really up to the standards of a W hotel. Dated, a couple repairs needed, lack of a menu for in-room dining and even found hairs in the shower. The only saving grace is the view

Could not find parking so parked down the street and walked to the hotel. Was cheaper. Neat modern hotel lobby. Check in was friendly and fast. Room was a bit small but was comfortable. Great view overlooking 911 memorial site and freedom tower. The view was worth it. Bed was large and comfortable. TV was kind of small but the snack area was well stocked. A couple of restaurants nearby but took a Uber everywhere I went. Over a nice stay.

Absolutely not a luxury hotel but surely better than many.... mindful the shower is glass facing the room so not if you want privacy.

An amazing view towards the Freedom Tower. I asked for a high floor room when booking with the view to Ground Zero and was astonished when entering my room by the view. I love the lobby design and front terrace as well. I would definitively recommend it when staying downtown

This is an incredible example of a W hotel. The rooms are stylish as one would expect. The amenities are complete. The views are amazing (see below).Do note that when you enter the ground floor you need to head up to floor 5 which is where the check in is.

The service was great, I had stayed here about a month and a half ago.. the service was great and the food wasnt bad the only downside is the rooms are ridiculously small, like maybe 2 people can barely fit inside of them. Now I know its NYC but I felt like I was a fish in a sardine can... I mean I think I have slept in hostels that were bigger than this place.. But it was nice and the hotel had good decor and good food; plus you dont stay in your room all that much.

Attended a private party; it was well appointed, the view of downtown from the terrace was beyond belief. The food choices were excellent and the open bar with cocktail waiters created a memorable and lavish experience. It was far more than I had expected and I was expecting pure excellence. The W Hotel is absolute first class

The W in Downtown NY is very nice. There really isnt anything I can complain about. It seemed very nice, but there was just a little something missing that would have made it feel fantastic. However, staying there was a great experience and I would indeed recommend it.

Im extremely picky and always look for the best. So its saying something when the W New York surpassed my already high expectations. We stayed here a week and they gave us a delicious complimentary wine when we arrived. The front desk staff and service overall were fantastic. Amazing view of the 9/11 Memorial and the new World Trade Center. We will definitely be back soon. 5 stars.

Excellent hotel, especially if you are doing anything downtown. Restaurant still isnt open yet at the time of this review so if you are SPG Platinum the breakfast gift is a $10 Starbucks gift card for each night you stay. Better gym than most hotels. It has a rowing machine, bike, elliptical, multiple treadmills, cable machine, leg press, punching bag, and two benches with dumbbells up to 50 lbs. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming and actually remembered me from my previous visit multiple months prior.

Very friendly staff, I only visited the lobby bar and it was very enjoyable. Decor is unusual.

The W New York - Downtown was an exceptional stay, providing modern style and comfort. The hotel lobby, elevator and rooms might make you think you took the wrong flight and ended up in Las Vegas. Stay is friendly and amicable. Rook was very clean and maintained every day during my style by very friendly and hospitable staff. Bed was extremely spacious and comfortable with excellent views of the downtown financial district in New York. Would recommend this hotel for those looking for a reasonably priced hotel providing modern comfort and style.

Overall the experience was brilliant and enjoyed or weekend getaway a lot. I will definitely stay there again.

The W Hotel in New York downtown is a great hotel. Conveniently located, you can easily walk to ground zero and see the 9/11 fountain pools, the W has a great view of Freedom Tower, you can walk to Chinatown in a few minutes, the Justice buildings are also within walking distance, and other tour spots are nearby.

NEVER AGAIN! HOUSEKEEPERS ARE STEALING!! After our stay at W Downtown I found out that my diamond ring was stolen from my room. The staff has handled the issue with great disrespect and was EXTREMELY unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone...

When staying at any W hotel, the expectations are always high and this one did not disappoint. Beautiful lobby, amazing rooms, and if youre facing the right way, an absolutely spectacular view of the Freedom Tower. Easy walking distance to several great restaurants and bars.

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. We got there a little early, but our room was ready. Received coupons for local shopping and eating. Room was clean and inviting.

Consistency is everything for a eatery! After leaving a stellar review on yelp yesterday, I gave them a 3 star for lack of consistency today. We ordered two croissant sandwiches yesterday, but today they charged me MORE. To switch from a bacon egg and cheese english muffin to a croissant, they charged me for two separate sandwiches/bread types. It would have been fine, if it was simply an up charge for the croissant and that was there practice. It would have been better if they charged me more yesterday, so I could have made the decision to come back today, if I felt it was worth it. I even told the young lady that this wasn’t what they charged me yesterday. I will say, although that young lady taking my order wasn’t really inviting-no smile, she did go out her way to ask someone else to help her to determine what I should be charged, which suggests Blue Bottle doesn’t have a set format to determine this-again inconsistency, but that person/manager was busy and dismissive. That manager should have taken a quick minute to hear what happened! The only reason why I did not give them a two star rating is because I still enjoyed the food. The level of service to which your product is attach to, is the key component for repeat customers. To be clear, it wasn’t just about the amount of money charged, because I still paid for it, it was having an expectation that was previously experienced to be changed.

The worst 4 star or even 1 star hotel I have ever been in....and yes I have travelled quite a lot in my consulting career....1)No restaurant or room service,2)change elevators twice to get to your room....3)unhelpful staff who need a crash course in hospitality....4)No coffee/Tea in the room.regretting my stay!!!Loud drilling in the next room that went on for over 20 mins. Calling the front desk was 0 help.Last straw...i have cut short my 4 night stay to 1 night and moving to the Hilton for the next 3 nights.Please avoid this terrible hotel and staff.

Nice rooftop place and good selection of drinks. Good options are very limited though but healthy stuff. I really liked the baby zucchini with hummus and other raw greens with it. Very good stafff and service.

Room is clean and comfortable. Nice furniture but not that spectacular. I honestly cant tell I am in a w hotel vs any other 3-4*hotel. I dont get the hype. Staff was friendly enough but again the Sheraton is just as friendly.

Ive stayed at a W Hotel in Miami in Brickell Ave which had way nicer rooms than this hotel. However, the rooms arent bad, and it still has a very nice W feel to them. The bar is also really neat, but last call is at 10:30.Ill probably try and stay somewhere else the next time Im in NYC for business.

My initial room smelled like weed...I called the front desk and they took care of it and moved me up to a better room on the 19th floor... The hotel it self looks nice. Very modern decor .. Also nice view of the one world trade center..

Ended up with a great view of one world trade. The room is small, but honestly we didn’t spend a lot of time in there. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are clean.

We lucked out and got a north facing room. Absolutely stunning view of the One World and the world trade center memorial plaza.It has a lobby on the 5th floor, so you do have to take two elevators to get to your room, but the lobby bar is actually pretty good. Bartender kept refilling the mixed nuts on the sly and made sure to slide over some water glasses without us even asking.The restaurant was still under renovation, but everything else we really enjoyed. Rooms were very large by NYC standards. There was only one full length mirror inside the closet (would rather have one in the hallway thats always there), and not a ton of drawer space, but plenty of outlets and USB ports to charge the plethora of gadgets we brought with us.

Penthouse bar is really cozy and stylish! The staff are polished and friendly. Suites in this hotel are everything youd expect in terms of style and luxury, not to mention the swanky downtown views of FiDi and 9/11 memorial are great to gaze at day or night. Highly recommend, if not for a stay, then drinks and lounging will do.

Love this hotel and the quirky decor! Always changing and very clean every time Ive gone. The balcony bar has a great view and service is always excellent.

Enjoyed the room and my stay, but being all the way downtown means you have to hike to many attractions other than Ground Zero. The #1 train is arounf the block but you are still 25 minutes from midtown by subway.

Rooms of good size clean, the best view towards of the One World Trade Center, a small bar but with good drinks.

This place was not my cup of tea. The bar staff and the concierge were great! Front desk folks were very rude. The rooms are just okay. I had a better experience at the Club Quarters across the street.

Depending on your reason for being in the city, if proximity to Wall Street and/or WTC are important to you, this is an ideal location. The hotel is certainly nice but not necessarily up to The W standards (dont let the contemporary lighting of the lobby fool you). The outdoor patio was narrow and not really inviting or a good social space during the day. The rooms were clean and cozy and do offer good views of the city (keeping in mind there is a lot of construction going on in the area). The staff was helpful but do get a number to the front desk as opposed to a general answering service when booking your reservation.

We stayed for three nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and professional, and our room was well-appointed, clean, and modern. They actually offer their W matttresses and bedding for sale on the website, and Im seriously considering replicating my very own W bed at home, it was so comfortable! The lounge was a definite plus, with inviting, upscale furnishings and friendly, urban atmosphere. We went down for a drink the first night we stayed, and got bonus views of the 9/11 Memorial on the outdoor patio.

I really liked being able to sit out on the 5th floor terrace and have a drink, looking out at the World Trade Center Memorial. It would have been perfect if there was a food menu to accompany the experience.

Overall, nice hotel with a great location. Checking in is strange tho. It’s on the 5th floor so when you walk into the building, you’ll have to take the elevator up to the 5th floor. After checking in, the elevator bank to the rooms is separate, they do run quick tho. Rooms are clean and pretty spacious for NYC, amenities are great - gym, bar with a view, toiletries are available in every room, etc. Kitchen was not open when we were there but there is one. Food is good. Overall, great place to stay but not worth the $600 a night price tag.

I stayed here one night. Fit the bill. The restaurant was being renovated. As my welcome amenity I chose breakfast but that only gets you a coffee and a croissant. Kinda sparse. I know thats all Im entitled to but most Starwood hotels give a whole lot more than that. The room was nice and had a great view. Wall Street is dead at night so I wouldnt pick this location for tourists but if thats where you need to be for work or any other specific reason then I cant comment on location. Overall I was happy with my stay and it will be my downtown go to hotel but I prefer midtown unless I have engagements downtown.

Beautiful hotel and awesome staff. Went for a 21st wedding anniversary and we had a great stay. Price was what we expected for downtown N.Y., and we loved everything about the room, restaurants and lounge. Breath taking view of ground zero from the lounge, did not expect that.
