Great location near lots of shopping and food. I got two Day Use rooms. The rooms were pretty clean but very small. Luckily we were on there for a few hours. I called ahead to confirm my reservation and the person was kind of snippy and rude, luckily when I got there a young man named Charles I believe was the front desk and he was much nicer.
We had an awesome stay at Aloft! The staff was very nice and had great recommendations for sites to visit and food to try. The room was clean and comfortable! We spent a week at the hotel with our kids who were visiting from Italy. We all had a great time and enjoyed interacting with the staff! I would recommend this hotel to all my friends! It is off the beaten path but close enough to everything! Thanks for a great stay!
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights around August 2021 and this is by far my worst experience staying at a Marriott hotel. I have silver status with Marriott and have a good idea of what to expect from their brands. I generally do not leave hotel reviews as my experiences are usually positive to varying degrees, but my experience here was so bad that I could not help but write something.I had booked a king sized room but immediately upon entering the room realized that the bed was queen sized and the room itself was extremely cramped. I immediately called the front desk and the lady who answered did not seem (or want to) understand the problem. I went down and discussed the issue and her only response was that everything was booked and that she was unable to do anything and that I should speak with a manager the next morning. In addition, she had the audacity to tell me that the room was indeed a king sized room, thereby turning the problem into me being fussy as opposed to there being an actual problem. This was totally unexpected and the behavior was rude. I tried pursuing many different avenues including pulling up the room types from Marriotts website and showing her that right at that moment I was able to book a new room from the website (as such there should be availability). I asked her whether I would be compensated for being given a smaller room when I had already paid for a king sized room. She appeared to almost be in shock as to why I should be compensated for anything. As a regular guest this kind of service would be quite shocking to me but the behavior was magnified further given that I am treated extremely well at most Marriott locations due to the silver status.Being in that room that night and going in for a shower the following morning, I noticed that there was a horrible smell coming from the sink and that there was hair both in the shower drain and walls (see pictures). At that point I decided to inspect the room a little closer (something I never do), and noticed that the air vents in the bathroom looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a year. I also noticed from the fire escape map that the room I was in (1503), was literally the smallest sized room so there was no way that it was a king sized room.I checked with the front desk again the following morning and this time a different lady at the front desk seemed slightly more understanding although not by much. She agreed to request that I be placed into a different room but said that she cannot guarantee anything as people were still checking out and they had no idea of what rooms would be available. This made no sense as they should have a clear list of who is checking out and which rooms would be available. I left my luggage with them and offered to return my keys so they could clean my current room while they allocate a new one to me but she refused to take my keys.Thankfully, when I returned a few hours later, they did have a new room for me (1506) which was an actual king sized room (see picture). This room was far more spacious and what I expected in the first place. Although this room appeared to be much cleaner generally, there was a ton of dried up rice all over the carpets (see pictures). Before heading out again, I checked at the front desk as to whether they could get someone to just vacuum clean it, but was told that I would have to request room service the following morning before 9. That would already be my 3rd day staying at this hotel.Given the combination of issues and absolutely horrible service, I have to give this hotel a 1 star rating. Had I been placed in the second room from the get-go, and had it been clean as one would expect a hotel of this standard to be, I would have been a happy customer. Even if that wasnt the case, if the staff were at least a little more accommodating and understanding of the issues, I would feel far better.Aside from my issues the hotel is in a good location and so not all is bad.
This hotel was GREAT for our trip to NYC. It was in a great location for what we wanted to do and the staff was SO friendly. The women who checked is in was WONDERFUL! They were very accommodating to a late check out! The rooms were quiet small, however we did not use the room for anything other than sleeping after a long day of exploring the city.
The location is great for being in the financial district, however the staff / quality isn’t the best. Usually only 1 person at the front desk, ice machine on 1st floor, and For Marriott status members no lounge / breakfast available. Also have to request cleaning every night if you choose to do so.
Lobby is dirty, rooms are tiny, didn’t feel comfortable enough to sleep under the sheets or take a shower…. Requested a refrigerator for my sons allergies before we arrived for our stay, called even on our drive there to confirm and there was no issues w having one. When we get there there are no refrigerators available at first, than one with mold, followed by one that didn’t work, ended with one that wasn’t clean and had this terrible smell that we just unplugged it and put it in the hallway. Would never stay there again. Questioning Marriott Hotels as a whole after this stay. O and went to buy an espresso upon checking out and I wasn’t surprised to find out the machine needed service.
How was your stay? I wouldnt know. Even though I had booked the room and was given a confirmation number, I was told by the front desk the reservation did not exist. I called Marriott customer service; they assured me of the reservation. The customer service rep. called the front desk, only for him to also be told the reservation did not exist. Ultimately, denied a room. All of this occurring whilst NYC is being hit with torrential rains and a travel ban is issued. Awful.
My stay here was wonderful, from check in with this beautiful sister, the staff was on point with any requests, no problems😍 the hotel was spotless, everything was clean including the gym. I love the smiles and respect from everyone, I will be back...Thank Alof❤❤❤
On a small street but nice and clean, friendly staff, within walking distance to the World Trade Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Battery Park, and China Town. Ill be back.
No stars for this one. The room we got was the size of my closet at home. Eveery time you turn around you hit the wall. We asked for ice the first night and were told the ice maker was broken. It was broken all 5 days we stayed there. The staff was well not much to mention. If we ever come here again we will not be staying here!
Positive: The location Negative: The room was disgusting. Stains all over the bed, brown sticky stuff on the bathroom walls. We wanted to check in a couple of hours early and their policy is $20 dollars per hour each hour you check in early. The ¿complimentary¿ coffee in the lobby
I booked Aloft for two reasons:1) its centrally located to public transportation, eateries, etc.2) the hotel I usually book for stay cations in the city was expensive for this weekend....However, now I wished I paid the extra money. This was WORSE staycation I ever had:This place is HORRIBLE with a capital H....The rooms are small, cramped, and outdated. It feels like a shelter. If you are with someone you are literally on top of them. If you try to make any moves, you are bumping into something and hurting yourself. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room which is an inconvenience to anyone going back and forth down the stairs to utilize the microwave. And God forbid, you ask for ice. You might as well go to the 7-eleven and pay for ice. There is not adequate amount of towels. They are also outdated and rough. The customer service in this place is so unprofessional. I arrived on time to check in and waited between 30 to 45 minutes to so. Why? Because there was a system issue but none of that was communicated to me or the other 12 people behind me. We had to ear hussle to get any kind of answers. And when you get to the counter to check in, you barely get a hello or apology. But you are told about the gym and area to play pool and to provide your credit card to pay for incidentals. Ummm, really?I was never told they had wifi in the hotel. When I finally inquired about it I was told to look at the sign on the counter which I found annoying. As a hotel professional, you are supposed to inform all your guests what your hotel has to offer. I shouldnt have to look around and guess. And then when I tried to use the wifi, the site was not secure and does not give you the option to use the wifi password. When you inform staff, they say they will inform staff to get the site resetted. At the time of check out, wifi was still not working and still not secured. In addition, I requested an additional blanket because my room was freezing. I never got it. I called downstairs to remind them, I was told in quote its kind of busy down here, I didnt forget about you. Obviously you did because I had to pick up the blanket when I asked about it at 4 am when I was leaving the hotel for a bit. I requested the blanket around 11 pm.In addition, at check out three staff just asked me if I was checking out and what room? No inquiries about my stay, or said Good Morning, nothing. Ive never wanted to leave a hotel so fast. This hotel is the worse. No one should pay their hard earned money here. Its not worth it. Going forward I will stay elsewhere. Ive been staying at hotels for years I will say this is my third worst experience. :( so disappointing.
Had to sleep without bed linens two nights in a row. They are understaffed and I was told I had to let them know if I ever needed new linens or towels during my stay. Fine. What the front desk failed to mention is that housekeeping leaves at ??? O’clock every day and locks everything away so night 1 I was out of luck by my 730pm request. The next day took two calls for someone to come up. She left a pile and I told her I’ll make the bed myself since they are short staffed and busy. That was a mistake bc that night I find out the pile includes sheets and no comforter so I have nothing substantial to sleep under yet again. They are a mess. You’d think the front desk would have a key to the housekeeping room since at night, that person is the only employee present.....
The room was clean and comfortable. I didnt like the fact there was no microwave, fridge or coffee maker in room. I requested these items but they wasnt able to provide it.For the price it was decent enough good location.
Front desk is so slow and rude. Waited 1 hour to check in. They keep looking at the computer for obviously nothing and keep dragging in the checkin time. The hotel is sloppy and old. See trash everywhere. So many better options nearby.
Positive: location Negative: there were bugs in our first room. we were moved to a new room which was on a floor that reeked of weed. i have a kid with asthma and a smoke filled floor does nothing good for her lungs. additionally, there were people yelling and screaming
Friendly customer service, definitely would stay here again, easy to get to, and there is a parking garage right underneath them!
Very friendly and courteous staff, room was clean and tidy.
The hotel staff is very friendly and were very accommodating with anything I needed. Would definitely stay here again.
Room is small, advertised as fridge in king rooms but no fridge, staff rude including manager.
Aloft Manhattan Downtown is my go to spot for rest and relaxation! Always clean. Always a good time!
I requested to change first room due to the smell of marijuana and cigarette’s. 2nd room smells like moldy rug, there’s dried toothpaste splatter on the sliding door, sliding door handle is broken, counters weren’t clean, shower floor is disgusting. Nothing I expected from looking online. Entirely upset and have a long stay. The front entrance lobby looks like the “back of the house.”
Good hotel, nothing fancy. Great value for money.
Rooms arw small but we only used it at night. The front desk personnel was GREAT. Always willing to help. The pillows do need to be changed though very dirty. Overall I would definitely stay again and recommend to others
Conveniently located near my surgeons office so best lodging for me for my early morning surgery. Checked in later in the evening. Quiet room on the 11th floor. Bed was comfortable. Room temperature at night was comfortable but cool during a winters day. After surgery the next day found the room was not as clean as it should be. Spoke to GM about it and the very wobbly, tall faucet above the Kohler sink in the bathroom. He promised to investigate and gave me his business card. Hoping he can resolve these issues before my next visit. Overall we found all staff very friendly and accommodating whenever we interacted with them.
Hated it. Booked a king, they gave me a queen. Shower spills water all over the bathroom floor. Discoloration all around the bathroom ceiling. Holes in between the floor and wall. No mini fridge. Too small. Poorly lit. Badly decorated. Just all around negative experience.
Charming hotel...nice staff
Horrible location and the room is disgusting.Great view of the wall next door!
Positive: The staff was exceptional! From the front desk to maintenance! They were happy to answer any questions and offer a variety of solutions if I had a concerns.I was very pleased with my stay at Aloft!
Staff is very friendly, service oriented and pleasant to interact with and that made the stay doable, that is until I...I will save that for the end. The room has it issues...Carpet could use a good cleaning..Tile appears to have been redone but cut poorly so there are gaps where it meets the cabinet. The shower floor seemed to have been recently painted but paint chipping and some trype of paper was still in the shower. I wore shower shoes. The water pressure and temperature was great though. But the kicker that thank goodness, I did not see until after I was ready to leave...strip bed trying to be nice and the bed cover had so many stains...one even appearing to be blood. It was disgusting. I will never stay at the hotel again. Just a level of lazy uncleanliness I dont expect at Marriott brand.
Positive: Front desk staff
Awesome place to stay in the city! Just enough room to feel comfortable. They opened the bar just for us and we were truly thankful. We arrived early and there were able to check us in with out issues we were even able to get a late check-out. I would definitely stay here again.
Positive: Great location Negative: Mask wearing was virtually nonexistent in the lobby. Reservation said the room would have a refrigerator; it did not. The sink in the room was loose and moved around when using it. The furnace in the room constantly cycled on and off all night.
This isn’t a Marriott property that is worth using. I’ve been to at least 12 other Alofts, this one is so disappointing. Try the one in Harlem if so. Location is the worst. As a lifetime Bonvoy platinum, I will never ever use or recommend this property.
The receptionist will surely welcome you politely. Their rooms were properly cleaned that you can really stay pleasantly. Upon entering this hotel, you will be amazed at how clean and elegant the place was.
Just fantastic! The staff were great.amd i got the rest and piece of my i needed.
Lots of drain flies in the room ... I stayed for two nights and caught a bunch of them..
I would love to leave no stars but sadly, that’s not doable, so here we go. Upon arriving, no staff was around at all to help me check in. I had to find someone in the janitorial department in order to get someone at the front desk. We finally got situated in the room, which at first looked nice. I had to go downstairs to get ice but upon exiting my room, there was a very strong odor of marijuana and tobacco (the signs say it’s a “butt free establishment”). I didn’t say anything- I just let it slide. My girlfriend and I left for the evening. We returned after dinner to find the fridge In the room never went below 70°. Unfortunately we had brought back leftovers. The following morning I had dropped an earring beside the bed, I looked under only to find a lovely crack pipe and a roach clip. I told the front desk, their reply was “I’m sorry.” And that was that. Literally never staying in this trash den again and I certainly recommend whomever is reading this to follow me as well.
I visit NYC a few times a year and decided to stay in Manhattan this time. This Aloft location was very convenient and clean. The office staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I actually like that it is on a smaller side street as it is a bit more quiet compared to other options. The room was perfectly fine in size and was very clean. Enjoyed my stay and will be back soon!
Nice. Clean. Service. Cheap.
Very small rooms, but exceptional staff.
My husband and I were visiting NYC the weekend of Valentines and Presidents Day. Our stay at this Aloft was ok. I was never acknowledged as being a gold member. I have experienced better Alofts in other cities. The bed was comfortable. The room was smaller than what I am used to. (Even in New York). We didnt spend a lot of time in our room so we didnt really focus on the room too much. My husband says he may choose the Aloft in the Financial District again. I am not sure if this hotel would be my first choice but I will definitely choose a Marriott first.
Great place. Comfortable. Fashioned.
This hotel is in a renovated building which was damaged during 9/11. You are literally 2 blocks away from the WTC. The area is still under reconstruction and is a filthy, one-way street. Location aside, it is a clean hotel that meets most travelers basic needs. There is no fluff, and it is marketed to the single, professional millennial. I was hoping to try out the XYZ bar, but my stay was brief and my companions were teenagers. Rooms are large enough for the bed size you requested, but are clean and offer all basic amenities that one would need (toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board, safe, TV, work surface, wi-fi, single-serve coffee machine). This brand is strictly business, and thats just fine. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and offered to lock up my luggage and call me when a room became available ahead of the standard check-in time. Subway stations are at the corner of the block and offers the main line between Uptown Manhattan and Brooklyn. Tribecas plethora of eateries are a short 10 minute walk away, and popular Starbucks, Chipotle and Wendys are just around the corner from the hotel. Being the city, this was a pretty expensive basic stay, but was actually one of the lower-priced places for that date range. Overall, a fine place to lay my head at night. Ive already booked 2 more Aloft stays in different cities based on my experience here.
Food was good. Lovely and elegant place. Room was beautiful. Great services. One of the finest place. Staff were nice. I went there for second time. Staff were courteous.
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! The staff at Aloft provided outstanding customer service. It was recognized by the team member that I had an exhausting day and she quickly checked me in so I could rest and relax for the remainder of my evening. The room was very clean and quiet. Overall, I would recommend staying here.
The room was nice, floors were cold.
So much to say about this recent stay.Check in was horrible: the guest services man in the camo sweater told me 5 minutes while he sorted my questions and then vanished for over an hour and never came back. Luckily after sitting in the lobby, i decided that was enough and i needed to get into my room. The next person was helpful but was unable to make the adjustments to the prices that were showing on the Mariott site. I was told to call CS, who wasted more of my time by trying to help but then after 4 transfers, i was told the front desk at the hotel is the only one who couldve done anything.... makes no sense.Once getting in the room the blinds did not slide and were bent and partially broken, so there was no shutting out the sun. The bathroom has horrible water damage like a flood happened. There was mold or gross black staining. It appeared that house cleaning does the ultimate minimum and maintenance was non-existent.The purpose of this hotel was to be easy, well priced and downtown.... i have been using AirBnBs recently and this experience hotel was pretty bad and doesnt help the hotel cause.I plan to stay at other Mariotts, but will spend more money on a stay, at least make sure the correct pricing is acknowledged when checking in.
My stay was horrible they over charge you for a room that is very small that came with no microwave or fridge raider. The sheets and the bathtub were not clean they had one cleaning lady for the whole building. When we called for our room to be cleaned they said she would be there in 20minutes and I waited a hour. This mad is have to stay longer and pay extra to extend our stay. They don’t let you know that there’s a extra fee if you check out late.
Save your money.. friendly staff .. but bad location ..
Nobody came in my room to clean it or change the sheets and no new towels or wash cloths
Marcus at front desk is an amazing person to deal with.
Cleanliness. Convenience and location(to main streets/eateries/shops) and on a safe street. friendly and helpful workers. modern and chic hotel. Easy to access. Secure parking right next to hotel. Pet-friendly(a must). excellent customer service.
We had a nice stay in the hotel for business at the nearby university. The staff was friendly and professional, the room was comfortable and beds nice. Our bathroom was interesting, to say the least. The door separating the sink from the bath/toilet was on a sliding track at the top, and nothing from keeping the door from swinging forward at the bottom, so there wasnt much privacy. The large shower lacked any seals on the bottom of the shower door, so water just shot out the bottom and onto the floor.
In general, everything was wonderful and fully consistent with expectations.· The process of check-in, check-in, and check-out. Huge lines, the staff is clearly unable to cope with the flow of guests, and more people are required, especially since the flow of guests is known in advance by the booking plan. Also, some tasks, which are short in their essence and which are simple actions that can again be done in advance, took a long time, you ended up leaving, I never received the final bill and registration forms, I just put the keys on the counter and left. It would be white if done in advance, 5 minutes, and would look super professional and nice.
The staff at Aloft provided outstanding customer service. It was recognized by the team member that I had an exhausting day and she quickly checked me in so I could rest and relax for the remainder of my evening. The room was very clean and quiet. Overall, I would recommend staying here.
Nice stay just needs to be cleaner in bathroom area
Worst experience with a hotel ever. My card on file was repeatedly charged hundreds of dollars throughout my 6 day stay. Customer service told me that they were just holds and didnt do a thing to correct. I eventually had to cancel my card and get a new one because the hotel couldnt help. I am not sure if this is a consequence of incompetent or criminal staff, but I would strongly suggest finding a different hotel to stay.
We love the location of the Aloft Manhattan Downtown - Financial District for its proximity to the places we wanted to visit while in NYC. It was easy walking distance to Battery Park (ferry to Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty); 9/11 Memorial & Museum; and Little Italy & Chinatown. The hotel was also extremely close to the subway, which made for easy access to other places in the city, including Penn Station where we arrived and departed from. On our weekend stay, the surrounding neighborhood was quiet and we loved the city view from our 13th floor room. The room was well-organized so that even though the space itself was small, there was room to unpack and settle in. For seating, the room only had one chair. An additional chair would have been helpful, but we managed. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Hotel staff were welcoming and the pastries we enjoyed for breakfast from the pantry in the lobby were good and very reasonably priced. Just a couple minutes walk from the hotel, you can get a delicious sandwich at Pisillo Italian Panini for lunch or dinner. Great hotel & location!
Loved the room, small but very cozy. stayed the three day weekend with my boyfriend for his birthday & we definitely enjoyed our stay. thanks to the lovely markia she was very helpful & so sweet. would definitely be going back soon
The Aloft in NYCs Financial District is a great place to stay. I travel for business and often choose the Aloft as the place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and, typical to NYC, on the small side. The breakfast was quick and quite good. The hotel is convenient for getting to the Dept. of Health for work and many tourist attractions, including the World Trade Center and Memorials. It is also easily accessible from the Fulton St subway station. I most often stay for business but have stayed when traveling for leisure. Highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms are small and do not have outstanding views, but the overall experience at this property is outstanding. The lobby, bar, patio and rooms are trendy, spotlessly clean and fun. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms are useful and clean, and front desk service is genuinely exceptional. The location of the hotel is ideal for any activities downtown with major subway stops to Brooklyn and uptown just a block away, with many restaurants nearby. I strongly recommend this property as a budget hotel that offers much more.
Hotel overbooked myself and four other reservations, sent with heavy bags to another lesser hotel. This is normal policy. Avoid this location.
We loved the location. Great modern decor. The service was great. Our bed was amazingly comfortable & the linens were great. The wine fridge was a nice surprise. We would definitely stay again.
I celebrated my birthday by staying at this hotel which is very close to South Street Seaport. Street parking is limited and there is a lot next door that charges $53 for the day but I believe if you get there earlier than 7am, it’s $26. The room was clean and housekeeping did a good job. The bar is only open from 5-11pm. There is a 24 hour refuel bar that includes coffee, tea, yogurt, water and some drinks on the go. Staff was okay.. not the most helpful bunch of people. There was no air in the hallways or elevators and at check out time the elevator is very slow. Other than that great hotel for the price.
I just feel if you should have to turn sideways while trying to get in on your side of the bed and still barely get in and out, that is just ridiculous and at that price, no thanks, not again. I was actually excited to stay at ALoft but not anymore. Literally while sleeping my arm would hit the window. For the price you can find other hotels that are in better locations and for a better price. Before this stay I loved how Marriott runs hotels. Not so much anymore
A bit dated. Close to financial district. Good value if you are just looking for this.
The hotel is clean and nice. The neighborhood is a little close and dirty, but its really close to a lot of things.DONT GET THE KING SIZE BED!! Get two beds. Otherwise your room is approximately the same size as the bed. The king size mattress literally fills up the room. The king rooms are crazy small. The rooms with two beds are much more comfortable.
Loved my stay at Aloft FiDi. The team here really gets to know you and takes the time to recommend great experiences. I’m generally very picky about rooms, and this hotel met my expectations. A comfy bed, always clean, personal touches. My favorite part of my stay was the staff. The manager was very welcoming, knew me by name, and the whole team followed suite. It’s comforting to find friends outside your home city. I’ll be coming here for my next business trip!
Very facility was provided. Services was amazing. Great room services. Room was well organised and beautiful. I spend a great time. Breakfast was good. Great location.
Hotel is in a nice area. Its located in the financial district. The rooms are small but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast option is limited. I have stay here more then 5 times and will stay here again in the future because of the location.
Ill stay again. Convenient location, DELICIOUS hot breakfast to go at a great price for Manhatten. Cute bar & patio. Appealing weird art. They have an energy efficiency program for a small discount. And I loved their little blue soap.
The rooms were small but it’s New York so overall nice for the rooms. Loved the interior. The view from my room was semi nice except for the parking deck lol but idc its New York. Front desk always greeted me and acknowledged me.
This was the nastiest hotel I ever seen. The lobby was filthy and disgusting. There were stains on the carpet and the lobby furniture. The check in desk had clutter and was nasty. There was no one to check us in when we first arrived. We waited almost 30 mins for any staff to arrive to the desk for check in. Once we check in the room, we notice the window was partially opened. There was a huge pile of cigarette ashes in the window. The bed had stains and there was stream of white fluid on the wall. No sure what it was but it was very disgusting. The bathroom was dirty and the shower was moldy. Needless to say we bolted out of there and went to the hilton. I never expected this form a Marriott brand. Truly disappointed.
I really am hoping management reads my review. I arrived on 7/30/18 at around 5:00 PM. Check-in process was very welcoming, cordial and efficient. Exactly what I needed after a few weeks of crazy travel. Now heres the amazing part: I noticed on the way to the fitness center at the hotel that my phone was missing. So, I stopped by the front desk and asked if they had it. They did not.Frank (Aloft front desk) immediately offered his own personal cell phone to help track my phone down. Thankfully, we were able to track it and it was apparent that I had left it in the cab. That in of itself was mildly comforting knowing where it was.The problem then was how do I get a hold of the cab driver and have the cab driver re-direct and come back to the hotel to deliver my phone. After successive calls to my own phone, I still was unable to contact the cab driver. At this point, Im thinking my phone is gone.Frank tells me to not worry about it and just go and work out and he will take care of it. I was skeptical to say the least.About 30 minutes later Frank finds me in the fitness center and tells me he was able to 1) contact the cab driver; 2) he had the drivers phone number; and 3) the cab driver was going to come by the hotel!!!!Amazing!!!! So, I went with Frank back to the front desk and called the driver and he said he would be there soon. Again, Frank tells me to go and finish my workout and he would come and get me when the driver showed up.Shortly thereafter, Frank came down and said the driver was at the hotel with my phone.Talk about going above and beyond. I travel frequently for business and have stayed in a lot of hotels. I dont believe I ever had a hotel employee that deeply vested and focused on dealing with my problem that I created myself and had nothing to do with the hotel. This type of personal assistance is so refreshing and actually quite surprising given the self serve, autobot help desks and service centers that drive customer service in todays world. So, many many sincere thank yous to Alofts Frank (dont know his last name). He didnt know this, but I had just gotten back from Italy and visiting my daughter in Boston. All of those photos were on my phone. Frank definitely gets my vote for employee of the month / year!!!Also, would like to extend a thank you to Lisa who was also working the front desk that night.
The front desk greeted us when we arrived. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a bar on the main level, a really cool patio outback, and some fun games to play as well. The rooms were clean and more spacious than Ive experienced in other NYC hotels. The room was stocked with enough towels, unlike some other hotels. The hotel has fun lights/decorations making it a unique and positive vibe. The elevators were quick and efficient - again this has been a gripe of mine at other NYC hotels that I really appreciated at Aloft. The SPG wheel was one of the best rewards I’ve seen. Those cupcakes were delicious. Its a great location - walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty/Battery Park, 9-11 Memorial, city hall, and wall street. Its on a quiet street, so while you are close to so much - you can actually sleep at night (again - this was better than Ive experienced at other hotels in NYC). Also, this is very convenient to the NYC Subway and there is parking next door (same side of the street) - the parking attendants were professional, efficient, and friendly. Brodys bagels, Melissas Cupcakes, and NYC pizza were all close by - as were a million other quick and affordable food options. Very close to a CVS - so you can get anything/everything you need easily. A really great experience all around.
Enjoyed 3 nights at this location. Found room with 2 queen beds to spacious (for NYC) and very quiet. Property feels on the new side and therefore clean and well maintained. Beds were comfy and WIFI worked. Has a small bar/lounge on site and a snack bar for morning coffee and such. There is a small gym in the basement. I never considered staying in the FD on past visits, but was glad I tried it. You can get any train close by at the WTC and get anywhere in the city you need to go rather quickly. I liked that it was on the quieter side at night - after going to a show, Rockefeller Center, etc. - it was good to get away from the crowds!
They front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a bar on the main level and a patio outback. They sometimes have live performers and always have games available. The rooms were clean and more spacious than Ive experienced in other NYC hotels. The hotel has fun lights/decorations making it a unique and positive vibe. The elevators were quick and efficient - again this has been a gripe of mine at other NYC hotels that I really appreciated at Aloft. Also, this is very convenient to the NYC Subway and there is parking next door (same side of the street) - the parking attendants were professional, efficient, and friendly. A really great experience all around.
Our phone in our room didn’t work, the heating wasn’t working properly. We were promised Marriott points and free breakfast etc for our troubles but no one followed up with us about it. So a bit of disappointing service. But the hotel itself is quite lovely, the beds are very comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. Also I liked the location downtown, accessible but tucked away on a quieter street.
Bar section was good. Seating section was clean and comfortable. Room was beautiful. I liked the decor. Staff were courteous. This place was awesome. View was beautiful.
Its a great spot to unwind after crazy days in the city, and amazing complimentary coffee in the morning to help you go back at it again. Very modern and refreshing when you walk in, from the design all the way to the smell-it smells amazing! Fun patio and XYZ bar! I loved my stay and definitely would go back!
This was our first time staying at this Aloft property and our first time staying in the financial district. We were pleasantly surprised. Like all Aloft hotels, there is a fun vibe, nothing pretentious, but still very nice facilities. I had no problem with it not having a full service restaurant, come on, its NYC, where there is no lack of places to eat. The location in wonderful, a little side street with little traffic and really quiet. The sleeping rooms are not large but serve their function well. Really comfy beds with feather pillows if you prefer that over the synthetic ones. Staff was great, always greeted us back with a friendly smile.Subway station is a couple blocks away with easy access with many lines connecting at the Fulton St. terminal.
This was a clean and quiet hotel. They have a little cozy club in the back of the lobby. A nice place to have a few drinks and mingle. My room was extra clean and the climate control gets very cold. The bed was very firm and comfortable. Didnt really have a nice view but all the other amenities made up for it. I will definitely come back to this hotel!
Great location and friendly staff! They went to great lengths to celebrate our special occasion and made us feel welcome. Great part of city to stay in as its much quieter area than Timesquare (where I’ve stayed a few times before) but easy access to subway to commute in and walking distance from World Trade Center and good restaurants
The hotel was very nice, the only down side was the size of the king bed room. Next time we will reserve a two queen bed room. We were traveling with a dog, so by the time we set up the soft kennel there was no room to walk around it. I am not complaining though. We were given a wonderful doggie gift bag at check in. Soon after we got settled they also sent up a dog bed and blanket for Jack. We really loved the fact that we could enjoy a cocktail in the bar with our well trained dog. This was extra special for us. The only bad experience we encountered was the another person in the bar did not have their dog leashed. That is extremely rude as all dogs are not thrilled with other dogs rushing over to visit them. That was not the managements fault as they were all busy doing their jobs. Maybe an upbeat sign that dogs need to be on-leash when in the hotel might be helpful for some of the irresponsible dog owners that visit the hotel. I think being able to bring your well behaved dog on trips is a privilege, not a given. The front desk staff was amazing. We never felt like we were interrupting them. They were extremely helpful and appeared to enjoy their jobs. We had a truly great stay at this Aloft.
This is an absolute hidden gem at an unbelievable cost in Manhattan. Easy access to many subway lines. Quiet area of financial district, just off Broadway. Lovely staff and clean property. No on-site restaurant but the market is open 24/7 with a great variety that stretches beyond candy bars and junk. Theres a nice bar and lounge for mingling or meeting your friends in town. Plenty of food options in the area steps away or for delivery. (You dont want hotel food, anyway.)
This was my second time staying at an Aloft hotel, first time at their Manhattan location. I find their prices reasonable considering the area, and the proximity to subway stations was a huge plus. I wish we could have gotten a confirmed early check in since we had an event to attend, but it helped that we could check anything we didnt need for the event at the hotel. The free to use business center also helped with some last minute preparations and the staff was very helpful answering any questions we had. The room was on the small side but for a one night stay that didnt bother myself or my boyfriend. It was clean and very comfortable to come back to after a long day in the city.
My wife and I stayed at at the Aloft to be close to attractions, on a busy weekend in New York. Though the room was small, it suited our needs very well. Location was very convenient. The room just needed a little bit of maintenance, to make it a bit nicer. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really good.
A delightful small hotel on an out-of-the-way street in the Financial District. The continental breakfast each morning was exceptional. Our room was cozy with a very comfortable bed and a generous amount of pillows. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful.
Lovely room, exceptionally well laid out with good coffee to be had in the room. The only criticism I have is, that breakfast is a grazing bat with items charged individually to eat on the go. No sit down option is available.Staff ate friendly and seem to genuinely want to be helpful, no going through the motions with this team.A very good experience and Id definitely stay here again next time Im in the Big Apple.
What more do I need to say? I am always pleased with Marriott hotels. This hotel was very convenient for what I needed, clean and great staff. Room service restaurant is nothing to write home about, but lots of great places near by
Crappy location, no customer service. No heat in room, bathroom light broken/wouldn’t turn on and no hot water to shower. So that meant... cold shower, in a cold room, in the dark. Room smelled like mildew and no extra blankets were provided. Billed my card for an additional $400 without my authorization. Never again. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have any standards or children .
I like the open exposed ceiling in the lobby. Seems like double ceiling heights which make it spacious. Location is 2 blocks from the subway which is great. Rooms were nice.
The hotel entrance was welcoming. During my check-in the young man was polite and greeted me immediately. I wasn’t informed of any amenities offered. My room was cleaned but my pillows were so flat and overused I sleep on my blanket ( my travel size ) one. I noted that some staff spoke and some didn’t. Whenever I went to the bar there was never anyone in there ... weird. No bartender. The location is great!!! The staff that did speak were polite and helpful. Minor things that need to be fixed. But I would stay again.
