They do a great job! My toddler and husband get their hair cut at the same time - Julie is fantastic with kids!! They’re able to do many different styles. Really nice people.

Service was decent, but cut my hair way too short.

Make sure you communicate well, or maybe bring a ruler to make sure they know how much half of an inch is. Got my hair lopped off by like 2 inches into a totally different cut. Not a trim of just like half of an inch off the top like I asked.

Great experience! Walk in in a Saturday morning. I was able to be taken right away. I described how I wanted my hair cut and it was executed quickly, efficiently and professionally. Service was extremely courteous and friendly. I may have found my new local barber.

We love this place so much that we still travel in for haircuts a full 2 years after moving to the suburbs. They used to cut my sons hair on the sidewalk when he was afraid of the noise and Ill never forget how patient they were with him. Great cuts and a really nice neighborhood feel to the place. Highly recommend.

I was just visiting New York and randomly stopped in for a haircut. It was way better than I was expecting! $22 is a decent deal for a haircut in the city. I had no idea it came with a straight edge trim as well. Wow!

Been going here for years—probably about half my life. I trusted them to transform me from long-haired to short and never once did I walk out disappointed. Even now, considering COVID, you can make an appointment with the barber of your choice as all barbers here have passed the Barbicide COVID-19 Certification for the Professional Beauty Industry. I have been used to the shop being very busy but now they are operating at less than 50% capacity as many barbers are accommodating at-home appointments. I definitely recommend Barbershop 72. Amazing service, results, and price.

Very friendly and welcoming people. The reason for the two stars is because my barber didnt listen to what I requested. He was more focused on watching the soccer game on television than cutting my hair. There were times when he was cutting my hair while he wasnt even looking. As a result, he took way too much off the top and ended up giving a bad haircut.Nice people, poor quality.

Danny, my Barber for over 10 years is the best. When told him that I wont be able to return for another haircut for two months, he immediately offered me a very short cut. It turned out great. I always wait for him to cut my hair because he layers it so my receding hairline is not so noticeable.As for the barbershop, it is quite small, but they have taken all the necessary precautions in light of the pandemic. One bad thing was that they raised the price from $22 to $30 in one jump.

Glad to see this shop back open. Expectedly, since volumes are so much lower, the prices have gone up. But $30 for a quality mens cut is not unreasonable for New York City, even prior to the pandemic. Lee is always prompt and professional - such a great cut. He and his team are taking their time to keep the shop as clean as possible, and it shows. I felt comfortable and safe during my (much needed) haircut. Couldnt recommend this place enough

First time here. Fantastic. Lee the manager cut my hair and gave me the best cut Ive had in at least 20 years and at a fraction of the cost Ive spent before on less competent stylists. Tanya gave me a nice wash, very pleasant person. Highly recommend this place. Highly highly highly.I could go on, but it was just a haircut, but really, I havent had this nice a cut in forever.

I want to write: stay away from this butcher, theyll ruin you. But the only reason Id do that is to make it easier for me to drop by and get what may be the best haircut Ive ever had. These people are superb. Im embarrassed to say I used to spend 6 times as much for a haircut that is indistinguishable from the one I get here, actually not even as good. I go on and on because you seldom see this value and this quality in one place and great, warm people from front to back of the shop. Exceptional.

I was in town for the week, looking for a decent beard shape and trim on the upper west side. I came across Barber Shop 72; however there were very few reviews on shape and trims. I decided to place my face in their hands and I was not disappointed at all! To say I was pampered is an understatement. From the moment my butt touched the chair I felt like true royalty. There was no feeling of being rushed, no feeling of just another dollar. But true, honest craftsmanship (craftwomanship? For a female Barber did my trim and shave). A electric trim, hot towel, amazing lather and true artwork with a straight razor sets barber shop 72 above and beyond anywhere Ive ever been. The next time I am in town, anywhere in NYC I plan on making a special effort to feel like a king again at 72.

Price was good and included hair wash, I was able to get a quick walk in on a weekend, guys were nice.However my barber didn’t really listen to what I asked for and cut it much shorter than I wanted, I didn’t even have the chance to stop him before he kept going.Make sure to speak up during the cut if you go, to remind them.

Barber Shop 72 is by far the best place for a haircut and a shave. The prices are unbeatable and the quality is always top notch. Today, I lost my cellphone on my way to get a haircut and the owner was kind enough to let me not only use the landline to call the phone, but also use his personal cell phone to track mine. I found it and on top of all of that had a great shave/haircut.Love this place! Can’t beat it!

Great haircut! Amazing service. I was told that the cut was 22 and he said he told me that the shave would have brought the final cost to 45 dollars but he never told me that. Thats a big thing so I gave it 3 stars. I will go back i will just make sure that i dont get a shave

Im new to New York City, and so I found this barber shop hoping that it would be as good as the one I went to regularly back home, and it is but even better! I was very satisfied after my first haircut there and I keep going and leaving more satisfied than the previous time, the employees make you feel so welcomed and they all know what they are doing, I highly reccomend this place if youre in need of a top notch barber shop! One of the best decisions I made hands down.

I was walking past this shop and looked in and the 1st chair barber invited me in. He said he could cut my hair. I have thick coarse hair & wear it short. Ive been going there for about 2 years. All of the barbers are excellant. Most clients just drop in and you might have to wait maybe 20 minutes. They use clippers, scissors & straight edge for shaves. Hot shave cream & hot towels. Prices are affordable.

Great place with friendly staff. Lee has cut my hair for more than 15 years - no one cuts Asian hair like he does! After he moved from East 28th to West 72nd, I still make the trek even though Im in Murray Hill. A good haircut and shampoo wash from the friendly lady - what else do you need?

First visit: I now recall once with a new barber asking for a very close cut & he tried first one attachment and next until the right length. I said 3mm and he buzzed the right temple right away saying is that okay of course by then it was too late and I went home looking like I just joined the marines..Also he as very s l o w going over the same places 3+ times and fiddled a long time with the razor. My old barber finished in 6 minutes; today it was 15 mins. ALSO didnt take the care to keep dragging the clipper cord over my face 3 times as he worked.So next time I go if he is there I am just going to have to say, sorry I want to try somebody else--

It is so bad to have haircut by a maybe russian women there. I know I am a foreiner. It is hard to describe the haircut I want. But the women just hurry up to finish the hair cut for me when she just do not know what I mean. I want to keep the hair on the top. but she cut a lot. I say just help me to cut a little bit shorter on the back. she just cut it all. even like that, the haircut is so so so not flat. I told her, but she tell me it is because of my hear and she can do nothing. it is so bad. she just works so fast there and did not care about the haircut. I dont know....I just feel bad. but the other guy looks so nice.
