What a great barber and fantastic service. Freddy was awesome and will def be back! Thanks for the trim!
The Best! I am the most socially distant person one can virtually meet these days. I work from home and only leave my apartment to get my hair cut and get groceries. I was so pleased when I entered to see everyone complying with the new Covid rules, wearing masks and sanitizing. I felt just as safe as if I was at home and want to thank everyone for being so understanding and helpful during these times! A lovely woman named Anne Marie I think cut my hair and I am so happy with it!
They cut my boyfriends hair on Monday. It’s a very good cut. Service is a bit questionable and they weren’t wearing masks the entire time but you get what you pay for. Will return, thicker mask next time. He would be willing to pay more if they made some updates and had a specific COVID response plan
Great service, haircut and styling
Nice place, good barber
My barber was out on vacation so I decided to give this place a shot. What a great place, cant say enough about Noel, great barber. He doesnt rush at all, super detailed in cutting and very cool to talk to. I made an appointment early in the morning, came in during lunch was out within 40 mins. All the other barbers seemed laid back. Great atmosphere will definitely be back for another haircut. Just an FYI its a little pricier than the outer boroughs, but worth it.
Ask for Fred! Ive been coming here for years and its always a very professional experience conveniently located near Grand Central.
This is great. Reserve online - they book up and walk-ins are welcome but often cant be accommodated (especially in those after work hours). Very friendly staff, good cuts, v. reasonable rates in NYC.
My regular barber at home has been out with a medical issue for a while, was going to the city and needed a haircut - read good reviews and heard good things about Mike - they were all true. Made an appointment, he was right on time and did a great job. Paid attention to all the little details and the price was very reasonable. If I ever need to to get another haircut in the city would definitely see him again and recommend anyone in need of a quality cut to see him.
Great atmosphere. Accommodated me without a reservation on my way to the office on a Monday morning. Brett is a true pro and really like the haircut. Fair price given location. Great extra touches including scented hot towels and a bay rum-aroma aftershave. Do full hot shaves (not just back of neck).
Honestly the best barber Ive ever been too. I went with Mike for a scissor cut and he really did a great job and made some great suggestions. Took his time to make sure he double checked every detail but still got me in and out in around 30 min, laid back yet professional, and he clearly knew what he was doing. The other barbers looked very competent as well. Apparently theyve been in business for ~90 years, so you know theyre doing something right. Make a reservation online or they might not be able to take you.
Ive been to a number of barbers, but these guys are well trained and know what it means to be called a barber. The barbers were able to recommend a different approach to my usual cut based on the type of hair I have and my overall requested style. This isnt your usual awkward conversation Barbershop, this is your Let me walk you through what Im doing and let you know Im a professional kind of Barbershop. Also to be clear its not nearly as expensive as it might looks. My haircut came in at just $35, and they can handle beards and mustaches for extra.
Excellent old-school shop. There are many talented barbers here who care for their clients and their quality of work. Hope this place sticks around as long as possible. Its nice to see real, hardworking people in the heart of the Disneyland that surrounds Grand Central.
Talent, Humor and good music all in one place. Barbershop like these are very rare to come by in midtown. Highy recommend this place
Beyond pleased! I cannot say enough good about this establishment. Donna and Amanda are incredible and Im never disappointed. On top of that my husband comes home looking like such a stud every time. He went looking like a furry mess and after the beard shaping and awesome straight edge beard work they did he looked like a million bucks, I had to take him out and show him off! Thank you ladies for being AMAZING!!!!
Lucky enough to score a walk-in appointment with Fred for tidying up my beard and a wet shave. He did a great job and is a super nice guy. Will definitely come again when Im in town.
People are nice, but I would not suggest going is as walk-in. Im pretty sure I got the new guy. Cut was fairly quick. Didnt look great after. Didnt check with me if it was good when done. Above average price (35+tip) but below average cut
Michael is my barber. He gives a real sharp looking cut, with a professional attitude. I trust the suggestions he makes, and I am never disappointed. A skilled barber is hard to find, thank you Michael.
Decent price. Prime location. Good service. I was new to NYC and tried few other barbers before visiting them. I wish I have found them sooner. They do the haircut as you like it. Would recommend an appointment if you are planning to go in the evening.
This is the best barber shop in the area. All of the stylists are extremely nice and great at their job. Fred is the man and my haircut is perfect every time, highly recommend.
This place breathes NYC, it should almost be a tourist trap but then yall would be taking my seat when I need a crispy clean fade. The vibe, personalities, location, its all very new New York.. the haircuts are pretty damn good too.
Great conversation but very pricey..but I guess for Manhattan its acceptable
ASK FOR WAYNE! He gave me the best haircut Ive ever received. I promise you wont regret it.Awesome place, cool vibes, and great cuts. Definitely recommend it here.
Love the old time feel. Location right near Grand Central is convenient.
Great location near Grand Central. Good price. Been coming here for quick hair cut. Ask for DJ. He is meticulous and polite.
***Stay away!***Was looking to get a quick cut at lunch time, but completely regret it. The cut took over 45 mins, the persons hands were shaking the entire time, and then I find out the barber was completely new and didnt know what they were doing. Needless to say I wasnt satisfied with the results and would never come back.
Was looking for a quick trim before work, so I was pleased to see that this was open at 8am. I was not, however, at all happy with the result.I asked the man for a 1 FADED UP and a QUARTER INCH OFF THE TOP. He proceeded to take a 1 blade and shear the sides of my head flat off, which is the absolute opposite of a fade. He then cut chunks off the top of my head, seemingly at random. It looks like there is a skunk or some other large rodent sitting on my head. The worst part is, I think he knew that he messed up because the worse the haircut got, the more and more he started talking to me about how tough his commute is and how Thanksgiving is tough, as if to make me feel badly about thinking of complaining. The cherry on top: The lady at the cashier cheerily asked me for $40 plus tip. The most expensive (and worst) haircut Ive ever received. I was a laughing stock at the office.
Great location, family barbershop, where owner cares about every detail and professionals working there. Had appointment with Rudy - he did magic. Very reasonable price.
Great old school barber. But they know contemporary styles too. I would recommend this place to anyone
Good but expensive straight razor shave. They will use electrics prior to the shave so only 1-2 passes with the straight edge is needed for complete smoothness. The shave is followed by a moisturizer rub in then finally hot towel. $30 before tip.
One of the few old school barber shops left around.
Had 15 minutes to spare in the middle of the afternoon during a layover. Walked right in, got a cut and shave of the highest quality. Wish they were in my hometown.
Good price for the area and the quality. First hairdresser Ive been to that did a good job without millimeter-specific instructions
Great barbershop. Feels old-school and classic. Excellent haircut, funny conversations, straight razor shave on the neck, and a warm towel afterwards.
Worst Place everMy husband had a shave there yesterday and it ended up as a blood bath. The barber shaved off a mole which kept bleeding, nicked the rest of the face in a dozen places, left unshaved areas near the cheekbones, under the nostrils and further down the neck. It was a disaster. The guy clearly had no idea what he was doing. They charged $35 and they asked for a tip too!!! What a scam. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Such a disappointment. Run away!!!
Well, as i walked in i was kinda greeted with the, y are u here without a appointment look... i sat all thru my haircut with no conversation.. seens like they were upset to have a customer walk in ...
Doing it the way it should be done. Very nice experience with Fred. Would go again if in town
I was a customer for over 20 years! Will miss it.
Good cut, thank God for Anne Marie being there early
Love this place! Ask for Joe or Alex they are the best!
Great place for a great haircut!
Be sure to book an appointment on line. I saw them turn away many walk-ins while I was in the chair.
Great find in the heart of the city!
Always a good experience.
Very professional. Clean. And tight haircut.
Excellent haircut
Best barbers in New York!
Descent haircut. Make a reservation online.

Szilvia, THE BEST!
