Ive done lots of expensive barbers, and after finding this place have stuck to it for 10 years. They do what you ask, they get on with it and amazingly you dont have to wait long. Westside Barbers is a fantastic and convenient place to get a haircut. It is located conveniently on 42nd street in between 10th and 11th avenue. Inside it is very clean and the service is excellent. A high quality, relaxing, convenient barber.

Barber shop sucks, my shape up was not sharp, I never ever bleed during a routine shape up and my lip has 4 patches of blood because the heavy handed barber who was cold as ice shaped me up. Then told me a mustache isn’t included in a haircutBest part of haircut was leaving1/10

Ive been coming here for years, usually on my lunch break. I usually never have to wait, and if I do it has never been longer than 15 minutes. I wouldnt wait for a haircut any place else. Ariel always makes sure I look good before I get out of the chair! Great barbershop, great barbers.

This place is the finest barbershop Ive been to in NYC and NJ. These guys offer the traditional barber experience and cut hair better than any other place Ive been to. Im picky about my shape up and the style of my cut and Ariel gets it on point every time. Ariel even finishes it off with a straight edge cut and powder brush at the end. And for $20 you literally wont find a better deal in the city. Highly recommended Ariel and Ellis Barbers shop!

I had the unfortunate experience of having Alex cut my hair yesterday. Alex is an older man who could use a trim himself. He left me with an uneven hairstyle that makes me want to scream. The cut is awful. The shop has water dripping from everyone fixture. Its a dump of a place. Unfortunately its the last shop open in midtown but you should go anywhere else. Or dont go at all, this place is not worth it.

Used Boris for many years. He cuts good and is reasonable. Unfortunately on my Birthday weekend I called during my lunch and he said he wait for me. I got there ten minutes later and 2 people were ahead of me. I paid for 2 trains and lost my lunch hour and couldnt get a haircut. Im oldschool and I wont be going back. Something his generation just doesnt understand.

Worst haircut Ive ever gotten. Id give them 0 stars if it would let me. I should have known it was going to be terrible when only 30 seconds into the cut, the barber picked up a phone call in which he told the person on the other end of the line that hed be done in ten minutes. I should have gotten up and left right then and there. Absolutely awful cut, Ill be wearing baseball hats everywhere for at least the next week or so.

Raphael gave me a haircut this evening and butchered it quite badly. Im visiting NYC (Manhattan) for 10 days and went to this place that had one of the higher ratings. He started out by using the machine on the sides and for the hair on the top he aggressively used the thinning scissors for the most part of the haircut leaving my hair uneven and sloppy. I asked to cut it short on the sides and to keep it long on the top. He didnt follow my instruction or ask me during the haircut which I trusted him to get right. He is a nice guy but doesn’t know how to cut hair evenly and with care unfortunately. There was surprisingly no precision. Ill be wearing a hat for at least 2-3 weeks until it grows out. Also, the price of a haircut is not $14, its $20 without a wash or a shave.

I have been going to this place for about 9-10 years. Boris is the best barber I have ever had. They treat their clients like their own family member. They are very friendly and they provide an amazing service. I would never cheat on these guys nor trust any other barber.

Good attention to detail. Patient for the customer. Good service. $20 for a mens cut is not the cheapest, but you get what you want. Theyre not greedy on the tipping either - other barbers in the area get really pushy about a tip, which is optional. These guys just charge a fair rate and provide good service. I still tipped 20%

This has been my go to place for a good quick hair cut for a few years now. The guys are nice and they all do a great job. Cant beat $20 for a haircut.

It really depends who you get. I have had 4 star service and 2 star service from the barbers here. English is a second language. Only one guy has marginally mastered the straight razor fade. If you have longer hair you will be fine here. I had my hair cut here 4 times. More often than not the barber you get cant cut hair very well.

I paid $20 for what ended up looking more like a $10 haircut. The lady who cut my hair was nice, and she tried, but in the end she made a lot of mistakes and I didn’t get a good haircut. This is something I’ve experienced at other barbershops in Manhattan — you get rushed in and out and mistakes get made. This is the last haircut I’ll get in the city 🤷‍♂️

My son just walked into Elis for a haircut & shave . The gentleman who cut his hair was very personable & did an amazing job on my sons hair. My sons hair was very unruly & thick. Once he had his haircut he looked awesome . My sons beard was also cleaned up.My son told me Elis Barber Shop will be his go to shop for haircuts .

Eleanor has given me the best haircuts Ive had in a while. Shes quick, efficient, and makes you look good. As long as shes cutting hair at Ellis, Ill be going back!

I went there to clean up my face and get a simple shave. I have never been in that much pain while being shaved. The lady that I was told to go to cut me more times then Ive cut myself and that says a lot. I regret my decision to come here. I am not ratting their hair cuts but I am sincerely disappointed in their shaves for sure. My first and last visit. I payed and tipped and regretting doing both after seeing how many times I was actually cut under my nose and the sides of my neck.

I have been going here since they opened on 35th St back in 2001. THATS SEVENTEEN YEARS! Elli used to cut my hair, his wife did my eyebrows and their nephew (before he went back to Russia). Now I have been fine with Boris (FIRST CHAIR RULES!!!) Who listens, and executes exactly as requested. Another commented, they treat you like family, and they do! Theyre professional, convenient and competent. Glad to be a long time loyal customer.

Worst haircut Ive gotten. Was serviced by the woman barber in the shop. I told her a light trim and she completely cut my hair short and uneven. Its a mess. Its so short on some parts there is no way to fix this unless I shave my head. Terrible cut. Will never go back here, polite service, but absolutely no skill. I cant speak for the other barbers, but the woman who works here really screwed me up and Im so upset about it.

Rip off place+$27 for below average haircut!! Dont go here. The barber messed up my here and trimmed within 2 mins, as if he is chopping a grass.They are just good to some people.Rest of the lot gets ignored, Rude arrogant intimidating people work here. Wont go again.They have a knock off or I dont care real Rolex ..when barber starts thinking they are superior then a customer its a symptom that will doom this business.

The barber cut my hair brutally like my head is a piece of meat. I told him the hair line is still jaggy pls fix and he said thats how my head grows like. I cant believe I just lost my 20 dollars here yet my hair look like I just came out of a laundry machine.
