I feel like due to the lack of communication from staff I had an overall negative experience. They did not notify me that even to make an appointment they require a $50 deposit- which they told me after my appointment. Apparently when I discussed what insurance I had ahead of time it was not sufficient to help me plan my care. They wait until after the appointment to tell me I would owe more because I am out of network- that could have been told to me at the time of the appointment I made. I never pay more than $30 at a typical dentist with my insurance and I may owe a lot more than I intended on paying today(I already pay for dental insurance). The dental hygienist I worked with was also a little “cold” in her demeanor. I would not recommend this place. I am going back to my previous dentist after my bad experience.

Everything was great from the moment I walked in to when I left. The space is beautiful, open and clean. All of the staff was friendly and eager to make sure I was comfortable and answer any questions. Definitely recommend!

Office is super clean, everyone is very friendly, and the dentist explained what they were doing, showed me pictures of my tooth cavity, and broke down the costs and everything. Worked with my insurance to get that figured out too, I didnt have to do any of it! They do not have a contract with any specific insurance, just call and see if yours works.

I have to say Dr.Canatella & his staff are so professional & Friendly. Especially Dana. I had a bad crown placed on my teeth. When I went there he was so professional, attentive & nice. I would definitely recommend him.

I recently went to see Dr.Canatella for the first time. I have terrible anxiety about going to the dentist, to the point I would keep putting off my appointment for months sometimes years. I heard great things about him so I decided to give him a try. The staff and Dr. Canatella were so nice and inviting. The dental hygienist was very sweet, gentle, and took her time making sure I was comfortable during the whole appointment. She explained everything they were doing before they would do it which really helped keep me calm. I normally take gas when going for just a simple cleaning and still tense up the whole time, but this time was different. I did not get any gas, and I was able to relax and have a great experience. I left there smiling and happy. I wish I would have found him sooner! No more putting off appointments and dreading going.I would highly recommend Dr.Canatella and his staff!

Canatella Dental has always made me feel comfortable and welcome at their practice especially during this time of COVID 19. I have been seeing the hygienist, Alison, for many years but today I was able to meet Kaitlyn my new hygienist. She went over everything in detail during the appointment and was very kind. Once I get to my appointment, I am taken back immediately. They went out of their way to take extra cautions such as wearing face shields, face masks, and only having one person in the waiting room at a time. Dr. Canatella has always been thorough in my exams and gives honest feedback for my treatment. The whole team goes out of their way to let me know that I am appreciated and valued. I had a root canal at 8:00 a.m. this morning with Dr Todd Canatella. As a Doctor myself and an owner of a large health care practice, I was incredibly impressed. This is my third or 4th appoint with Dr C.s practice. I love the technology, friendly atmosphere and kindness that he and his entire staff provides. Dr. C. and his assistant (Stacie) were amazing from start to finish. Each time I have an appointment, I walk away with a new innovation, service or applications that I can integrate into my own practice. I should also say a word about Dana who manages the front desk and the insurance matters and fees. I find her to be very competent, professional and always spot on. All around, just a five star health care practice.

We moved to New Orleans eight years ago but because we have a business in our former hometown in Memphis Tennessee, we have been going to our old dentist in Memphis. As the years went by it became harder to find time to see our lifelong dentist in Memphis so we found ourselves just not going. Our daughter had been seeing Dr Canatella happily for two years now so I decided to use his practice as well. Needless to say, when I went to Canatella Dental for the first time this week, I was nervous. Fortunately, the staff greeted me (with masks and gloves) and got me back to Kaitlyn, the hygienist, immediately. Kaitlyn couldn’t have been nicer or more gentle with my emotions as well as my teeth! The modern equipment made taking the X-rays easier than ever... aka... No Gagging! The cleaning was meticulous but not painful.Then came Dr Canatella. I’m not sure if it is normal practice to check for TMJ and oral cancer as well as looking at your teeth, but I felt well diagnosed when he was finished. My gum prognosis was not good but through my tears, Dr Canatella assured me that he could take care of everything without having to refer me to a periodontist. He made me feel comfortable and optimistic.I could not be more assured that I am in good hands at Canatella Dental. I can’t say I look forward to the work I need to have done, but I can say that I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else!

Dr Todd is very knowledgeable and charismatic. His staff is super professional and his office is modern and clean. I went in for custom bleaching trays which were an AWESOME deal for 90 bucks. I am working on convincing my husband into letting me get veneers. Love this place.

A couple of weeks ago I had a dental emergency and could not get an appointment with my dentist. I called Canatella and they saw me right away. Dr. Rachel is kind and professional. She structured a plan to take care of my immediate and future needs. I’ve had a few root canals but yesterday, Dr. Todd performed one in about half an hour. I have TMJ and was so worried. The best part, though, was sitting down with Dana. She was a great help by contacting my insurance and working with me to finance the rest of my dental work. I’m so glad I called them.

Now that I’m back, I’m never going anywhere else! I recently had a root canal and crown done (first “major” dental work of my life) and they helped this big baby so much! Upon looking for dentists online i stumbled across their add... i took a leap of faith and called... Ms. COURTNEY definitely set the tone for atmosphere in that building.. she was professional, sweet, courteous, well informed and personable... fastforward....Firstly i was late, when i called they were very understanding and made sure to reassure me that all would be fine. I got there and was greeting by a team of smiling faces.. how can i tell u ask? Even tho they were all wearing masks? It reached their eyes and radiated around them... i was taken back immediately after some small talk into the more than capable hands of a miss SARABETH... let me just say ANGEL ON EARTH. It had been forever since id been to the dentist and i was def feeling self conscious... i even had a little break down complete with waterworks.... she did not miss a beat... she comforted me while informing on different options that id have... then there was Dr. CANATELLA.... it makes perfect sense why everyone on staff is there... if u liked first dental staff then the phrase attitude reflects leadership is quite appropriate here. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone... they are affordable and dental health and education is their ultimate goal... they were a blessing right on time without breaking my pockets.

Like many, I was lured in by the free cleaning/X-ray postcard I received in the mail. Bad mistake on my part. This place will try to rip you off by saying a cosmetic procedure is necessary that cost $1,200. That ‘advanced’ technology has to be paid for somehow. The doctor was a complete jerk who kept saying that I have a filling that was failing fast and that it would mess up my tooth. My new, better dentist says different and that filling is still perfectly fine. 3 years later.This place also kept calling and harassing me to get the procedure done until I told them to stop calling me. I took advantage of the promotion Canatella Dental offers to new patients: $97 for an exam, X-rays, and cleaning. Canatella Dental was recommended to me by a colleague and when she mentioned that promotion, I couldnt pass it up! I was experiencing gum pain and was long overdue for a cleaning. As soon as I walked in, the entire staff was so kind and welcoming. During my cleaning and exam, I had many questions about my teeth and correct oral hygiene practices, and the hygienist made sure to give me full, thorough answers in order to better take care of my teeth. I have a follow-up appointment soon, and Im actually looking forward to going to the dentist!

Hands down, these guys and gals are the BEST. I had very few positive experiences with dentists growing up, so naturally as an adult I dreaded it. Just went back for my cleaning and had another great experience. My hygienist was very gentle and knowledgeable. She was able to offer some advice on how to choose the right dental home care products for me, as I had expressed some dissatisfaction with newer products that are always being pushed onto the market. It was nice to hear that sometimes some of the more traditional products might work best for me. Their care is very individualized.

I started coming here 2 years ago and I was TERRIFIED of the dentist. I had my first appointment with Alison and since then I can say I look forward to my visits. She is literally the best dental hygienist and person in the world! So, if you go here, make sure to give her a high-five and tell her you heard how awesome she is. OK, aside from Alison the great, the rest of the staff is wonderful and Dr. Canatella genuinely cares about everyone of his patients. The care and attention they give to everyone really stands out.

Be warned, If booking an appointment for the New Patient Exam of X-rays and cleaning for 59.00. You or your loved one is only going to receive a Debridement, which is not a cleaning. It is just a way for Dr. Canatella and his staff to sell you on an expensive procedures, that when researched are grossly overpriced, if even needed. Dr. Canatellas staff is extremely friendly and personable but unfortunately, I lost all and any trust in Dr. Canatella and his staff by the end of my visit. I personally believe that this Special is nothing more than a ploy by Dr. Canatella to attract locals seeking to get his or her teeth cleaned with a prepaid appointment which is nonrefundable just to allow himself a chance to sell extremely expensive dental procedures that may or may not be needed. In my opinion this special is noting more than a strategy by Dr. Canatella to sell sell you or your loved ones expensive procedures that may or may not be needed.. Dont be fooled by these google reviews, take a look at the local dentistry review websites... You have been warned.

I have been a patient of Dr Canatellas for 16 yrs now, from the moment you walk in you feel comfortable and welcomed. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the office always seems to have a new special touch to make you feel at ease each time you visit. Dr Rachel, is the most recent addition to the staff and is wonderful and accommodating. I would highly recommend a consultation visit to experience it for yourself.

I recently had a little incident with a back molar while visiting my mother in New Orleans. I was very emotionally distraught because I wasnt sure about the extent of the damage, plus I had some anxieties about getting treatment out of network. My mother insisted that I should get seen here and nowhere else. I am so grateful to the staff & Dr. Neumeier for their kind treatment and prompt, accurate evaluation. I cant recommend them enough!

I called to see if they would be able to bond a chip in my tooth, they told me to come by and they would let me know. I go there, they look at my front tooth for a second, tell me that they will bond it but it wont last and want to charge me nearly 600 for a very quick and SIMPLE bond. I said- no thanks, thats WAY ABOVE what I should have to pay for that... and yet they were still going to charge me a few hundred dollars because it was an emergency visit! I was in no pain and they were the ones who told me they werent sure if they could fix it but to come on by and they would look at it and let me know... in the end they charged me 88.00 to tell me if they could do a bond or not but did no actual work and the exam i received was literally looking at me for a sec when I smiled to tell me if they could fix it or not. It was not a full or comprehensive exam. I feel TOTALLY SCAMMED, they wasted my time and am out 88.00 and didnt even get my tooth fixed. Many dental offices will look at a tooth and let you know if they can fix it without a charge, they did not communicate what my charges would be before I came and talked to them and I feel scammed. This was poor communication and customer service.... and those rates are ridiculous.

Dr. Canatella and the entire staff at Canatella Dental are First Class! From the initial phone contact, the initial office visit, treatment and the follow up, these guys knock it out the park. Professional, courteous and on-time, these guys are obviously passionate about their work! Highly recommended!!

Very courteous staff; Dr Canatella is great. Clinic is quite nice, HDTVs in each exam room, great views overlooking the lakefront harbor. My friend recommended them to me, and I recommend them to my friends and family.

Updated June 25: Every time I go to Canatella Dental, I have the most pleasant experience. I’m greeted by everyone when I walk into the office. Even as I walked from the elevator, Dr. Todd himself, greeted me as he passed me by. When Caitlyn, the dental hygienist, cleaned my teeth, she was very friendly, but thorough and professional. She told me Dr. Pagoada would be examining my teeth, but Dr. Todd did my examination, which made me feel very special. Dr. Pagoada still introduced herself and she is the most beautiful soul, inside and out. My husband had my toddler in another exam room. I forgot that my 2 year was there because he was so content that he didn’t make a sound. The exam rooms are the perfect size and the office has the most beautiful views of the lake and lake view harbors. I love this place!

If I could rate lower I would. Very rude. This was first interaction with this office as my tooth cracked during mardi gras and every other office was closed. When I explained I have a fear of dentists, the doctor seemed to take it personally and immediately adopted a condescending tone. He made no effort to ease my nerve or pain and seemed to think that I was drug seeking. I should mention I came to this emergency appointment directly from my work shop and was still wearing my work clothes which were covered in dried paint. He acted insulted by my appearance and thethe of staff could audibly be heard discussing my clothes and appearance. He made very little effort to address my pain and rushed through the appointment, billed me, and sent me on my way. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What terrible people to treat someone desperate and in pain so rudely.Edit: for the record I have no idea what previously addressed theyre referring to. I never received an apology or was even contacted. Im sorry you feel that way seems reflective of this organizations attitude towards customer service. Hopefully no one they care about is ever in such a vulnerable position and left to the care of such cold and rude people.

Dr. Cantella and his staff were extremely courteous and accommodating. I travelled to New Orleans for vacation and had a dental emergency as soon as I landed. They took me in immediately, fixed my tooth and recommended a ton of great restautants to visit. They saved my vacation!

My family has been regular patients of Dr.Canatella for years now. Not only is Dr. Canatella a great dentist his entire staff goes above and beyond in making patients feel calm and comfortable while maintaining a professional atmosphere. My son had 4 teeth pulled today with the new associate Dr. Rachel Neumeyer. She was very caring and nurturing while maintaining and professional and efficient manor.
