I had a limited amount Of time before I needed to head to the airport so I called and was told that if I came in right away they could get me in. I did, arriving at the shop less than 15 minutes later. Instead of fitting me in. They let me sit there for 45 minutes while several of the barbers were simply sitting around doing Paperwork or looking at their phones..Only when I told him that I had to leave because I wasn’t going to be able to have enough time to get to the airport did they tell me that they took someone else in after telling me to come in and we’re going to be a while on him. Completely inconsiderate, completely unprofessional, and it’s surprising that they have such a high rating with such poor service.

It has taken me WAY to long to write this review. This business has earned my undying loyalty. I come here twice a month to get my beard trimmed and styled. Jeffrey is an AMAZING barber. This is a guy that cares and it shows in his work. I walk out of here feeling like a million bucks when he is done. Not only does he do a bang up job on my beard, but I decided I wanted a handlebar mustache...and now I have one.Everything about this place is great. When you walk in, you feel like you are one of the guys. Josh, Jonathan, and Matt are all super friendly and greet me when I come in. I look forward to my visits.The price...way to low for the great service these guys provide. Sounds crazy, but trust me. They do some great work.You better book an appointment though. There are no cold chairs in this barbershop. These guys are busy, so you will most likely not get in if you just show up.Keep up the great work team.

These guys and girl are the best. I have been going here for over a year now and have had everyone cut my hair at least once and they all knocked it put of the park. From fades to trims these guys do it all. Highly recommend

Saweet barbershop. First time visiting since name changed from Robertson. Two of the barbers from Robertson are still there, one of which appears to have bought it. Great atmosphere. It reminds me of an old time barbershop, but with an updated vibe. Jonathan was on point with my cut and beard trim. Worth the 40 minute drive. The only thing missing is a checker board.

Best barbershop in New Braunfels, arguable the best in Greater San Antonio area. Most barbershops with their quality will charge a fine premium, Maldonado’s will exceed you expectation at a very reasonable price that will surprise most. I’m always leaving satisfied and no matter what seat you get, your getting a high quality cut by well experienced barbers!

This used to be a great barber shop. Now under new ownership things have gone down hill. There is no point making an appointment. They will get to you about 30 minutes after your appointment . The barbers spend more time answering phone calls, texts, and joking around than actually cutting your hair.

Ive been to this place back when it was Robertsons Classic Barbershop and under the new management and new name, the excellent quality has remained the same. Back when I used to frequent this shop, Id always request Johnathan. Johnathan has to be one of the best barbers Ive ever had and has always exceeded my expectations. I have since moved to another state and went back recently to the barbershop under the new name Maldonados. I unfortunately was unable to book Johnathan in such short notice, but was able to book Matt. Matt did an excellent job and I was completely surprised at how capable all the barbers at Maldonados are. The environment is clean and laid back and the barbers are friendly people. I really wish this was still my neighborhood barbershop. So you can bet that whenever Im in town, Maldonados is gonna be on my list of stops to get a fresh cut

Matt gave me the best haircut and beard trim the day before my wedding. This is going to be my regular spot in central Texas!

I really was excited about this place and felt I may have found my new barbershop. I just moved to the area from Denver and have been in the search of a good barber. I visited this shop twice and here are my experiences:1st visit (about 2 weeks ago)- scheduled an appointment online with Matt. Was on my way and hit some traffic on 35. Called about 10-15 before my appointment to inform I would be a little late. Matt was cool with it as I was his last appointment for the day. That was awesome! He had a great personality and his fade was awesome! It was the first time cutting my hair so we went over a couple of things for next time but I for sure wanted to see him again.2nd visit (today)- I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving for a cut but I decided to get one since I had family coming into town. Scheduled an appointment with Jonathan because Matt was booked up. Got to the shop a few minutes early and Jonathan was ready. Sat in his chair and he asked what we were doing. Explained what I like and even tried showing a picture just to make sure I was clear. He said ok and started cutting. I wasn’t sure if he knew what I wanted but I felt it would be ok. Didn’t talk much through the cut which is fine. Then handed me a mirror about 15 minutes later and it was not really what I asked for. I asked if he could go a little higher on the skin part of the fade and he said “no, I can’t.” I asked why and he said “he would need to redo the fade.” He also said I would need to go higher towards the top, which is what i didn’t want. I asked if he was sure and he said he couldn’t go higher on the skin. He didn’t make any attempt to work with me or explain anything else. I have had the same haircut for almost 10 years and I have never been told that. So I handed the mirror back and was disappointed. He then asked who normally cuts my hair and I said I don’t have a barber yet, I am looking for a place. He then asked if that was my first time there and I said no, I came before and saw Matt. He was like oh yea, aren’t you the guy that came in when we were closing? I was about to respond and Matt said no, he had an appt and was running a little late but called to notify me. Then Jonathan said ok. Jonathan then asked so what did Matt do wrong? I said he did well but it was a little higher than normal. Jonathan then made a comment about Matt being too high and him being too ligh fades. I didn’t respond because I felt very awkward and like I was being criticized. I paid for the cut and then left.I don’t feel I am difficult and I am just trying to find a new barber. Like I said, I have had the same haircut for almost 10 years by a few different people as I have moved for work but I have never had anyone tell me no on my cut or criticize me. It was like he was prepared for me and had this image of me before cutting my hair. It’s real disappointing because I thought I finally found my shop as everyone seemed cool and I really liked Matt but after this last visit, I am not sure I could go back due to the way Jonathan was. I had to go to another shop right after and pay them to fix the haircut Jonathan gave me.Matt, you were great and now I wish I waited until after Thanksgiving for you to cut it. You are the only reason I am giving any stars. Josh, you have a great shop but disappointed in this last experience.
