I have always loved the communal culture at the NW Y. Members are more like family and the staff always make me feel welcome. Im proud to share that NW is my home Y even though I live on the south side of town. The staff especially made my sister and me feel more comfortable about reactivating our membership at the start of 2021. We were still cautious about returning during the pandemic and the center staff and protocols made us feel better about our decision to return and re-engage in group fitness classes especially. I have seen so many positive enhancements to the centers staff, interior and programming, and look forward to seeing the end result of the current construction project, which is sure to benefit the community in numerous ways. Thank you YMCA leadership for investing in NW and keeping it open and thriving!

Everyone is so friendly and helpful here. The gym is nice and so is the pool, though it is on the smaller side. Never too crowded.

If I could rate it a 0 I would! Not for the cleanliness or the equipment, but for the rude staff. They have attitudes like I have never seen and the DIRECTOR herself told me that if I didnt like there facility or there policies I could go elsewhere. You best believe I will! I have gone to the YMCA since I was a kid and have never encountered one like this. They preach on family and religion, but this facility does not display either. I am very dissapointed and wont be back, I will stick with the Y I go to in Hermitage-Donelson, it is much nicer all the way around.

I love the kind staff and the facilities are superb clean. My 4 year old can’t get enough of the indoor rec. pool. Thanks Y for always being awesome. Same as 30 years ago when I went to the Y for the first time.

I love the NW YMCA. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It also has all the equipment I need for a good work out. And most importantly, they keep the facility clean, do temperature checks EVERY time, and theyre serious about social distancing. I feel comfortable being there.

Nice faculty and outstanding equipment. COV19 friendly divider between equipment which gives you your personal space. Friendly and Professional staff. The lockers in the womens lockers room could be larger.

As much as I love this location, staff arent always on time to open up. Many of us depend on their punctuality because we head to work after working out. Its 5:45 & no one has showed up to open the facility that should have opened at 5AM. If I could just get calorie burn-off credit for the times Ive had to wait to get in, Id have no issue. Sadly, the only thing getting a workout this morning is my finger as I text this message. Sigh...

Great Location.... Friendly Staff

I entered the Northwest/ Bordeaux facility and was met by a representative name Regina. The conversation started out okay but then took a turn for the worst. I was inquiring about a possible membership and her attitude was so nasty I got up left. I would not want to think this type of behavior is condone by YMCA.

I like the location of this YMCA and the pool area is great for kids.

This Northwest Family YMCA is great! The staff is very welcoming and friendly, and they have done a great job of keeping the center clean and spaced out during COVID.

Love the relationships Ive established at the Y. Theyve lasted a long time. I truly appreciate how they keep me accountable to my workout! When I dont show up...I hear about it later!!!

Great Zumba classes!

It’s dirty when I walk on the top so many dead bugs and wasps the workers don’t clean the floors are dirty they haven’t been cleaned in like 7 to 9 years the workers play around they don’t even work fire all of them

Everyone who works at Northwest is so friendly and welcoming! The facilities are nice and kept clean but its the staff that makes the place extra special.

Honestly, it doesnt matter who you are, they make you feel comfortable where you dont have to feel ashamed like family. Its a spiritual heartfelt environment They just dont tell & act like they care, in many different ways they show you that they do!

My husband and I came in asking about membership. We were immediately helped by Daryl. He was so friendly and once we told him we were looking to sign up, he offered us a tour of the facility. The facility is great! We went in around 7pm and it wasn’t too busy. After the tour, we were able to sign up for membership with Daryl. It was quick and easy! My husband and I are looking forward to using our new YMCA membership. Thank you so much Daryl!

The best Ymca in the system.. Johari and Ken lead a wonderful staff who truly care for the members . The members themselves are amazing as well.. Just awesome people..

The location is always clean, the recent facility/equipment upgrades look great, and staff are always friendly. I love having this location just minutes from my place of work in Metro Center.

Place is clean, staff is friendly, machines are in good shape, they have made improvements to the facility. Great place to work out.

Love the Northwest Y! Its not over crowded, the staff is kind and the pool area has everything you want! I hope they can add more group classes of different kinds in the future and Id go much more

Its a great day staff but a poor night staff. No training. No customer service. They are likely to start shutting down TV monitors 15 -30 minutes before closing without a word of apology to customers who may be watching as they work out.. I finally spoke up tonight, calmly but firmly, to the male staff worker that maybe the next time he should look around to see if anyone is watching, I been doing this for 20 years. Dismissive. No apology issued. But this same Y will organize a phoneathon to get the neighborhood to come to their rescue when others move in and want to close down the establishment. I support the Y (even the one in my neighborhood). But train your workers. Especially that night crew.

Evelyns dance fit class is AMAZING! The staff members at the check-in desk were very accommodating as well.

It has everything you need to get in a quick, high-quality workout without having to fight for racks, barbells, and other machines.

Staff is friendly and accommodating! Great place to work out. Variety of exercise equipment and classes. Nice, clean environment.

I attend the Northwest Y 5 days a week, it is nice and clean, with friendly staff

Nice facility and has been a neighborhood institution for years....the classes cater to the clientele and members for the area. Zumba with Evelyn is awesome and she puts a fun spin on the traditional Zumba moves & this class is great! Its nice to have a work out facility that makes you feel comfortable in your environment. The equipment is up to date & well maintained. The pool area is spacious and the lifeguards are prepared and focused. Its the neighborhood Y & hope it always stays focused to that!

Clean facility, friendly front desk staff, usually not to busy in cardio & free weight area. Small heated pool with only a few lap lanes, small weekly group fitness schedule but Instructors are knowledgeable and certified.

A place full of childhood, before & after school care, tutoring, summer camp, and workout memories.Thank you DONNIE and your crew....Many blessings from GOD....Thank you Jesus thr Christ!

This is a great facility the day care is wonderful the day care workers and that whole pre school team is wonderful keep it up

The facility its self is nice to look at and has sufficient work out equipment. Unfortunately, the people that work there are quite rude. Not all of them of course. The lady who works on the weekend is the worst.I actually joined to take advantage of the workout classes they have and for my kids to be able to swim. After going to one of the Zumba classes I was not satisfied at all. I love Zumba. To me Zumba is a Latin based dance/workout. In this class it was more about knowing all the dance moves to hip hop that the neighborhood teenagers listen to. You also had to have springs on your feet because this lady jumped so much I thought my knees would collapse. I have done many Zumba classes and this was not Zumba. They need to reassign their instructors. As for the pool. Again nice to look at, but very shallow no room to actually swim. I was trying to work with my daughter on swimming in the very small area where there are swimming lanes and had a kid land on mine and my daughters head from the slide twice. The first time I let it slide 2nd time was the last time I have ever been back there. They do not monitor the slide at all to make sure that that does not happen. There are only 2 swimming lanes and one of them the slides come out into so kids can land on the heads of the people who are trying to swim or teach their kids how to swim. Im sure this has probably happened to many other people.This is not a place to go if you like to feel comfortable in your enviroment. I never ever felt comfortable. No one there after you join does anything to make you feel like your a member. Wish I would have cancelled my membership months ago instead of just allowing them to suck $ out of my account every month for nothing.I would not recommend this location to anyone except maybe teenagers.

It a nice family place like cheers but the facility director Nicole is not a people person never explains details in full just cut and dry she seems miserable and not dedicated to her job it’s all about her and not the members I been a member since 1993 and she has yet greeted me since she’s been there I would not recommend membership if you’re looking for a Christian base gym
