The pool access was wonderful for my family. The facilities were clean. And building staff was always extremely kind.

I love my East Nashville YMCA. I have made so many long lasting friendships over the years here. I enjoy group classes. There are many great ones to choose from. The facility is clean and the staff is amazing.

The staff at this facility are lovely, but the lady on the phone that was supposed to cancel my account failed to do her job. I stopped using the credit card that my monthly payment was going on and I just signed on to check on it and I have been charged $50 every month since I cancelled. I got two months refunded but I believe I still have 3 more months that I should be refunded. I understand they have no records of me cancelling, clearly because the employee did not do her job, but it is still disappointing. So FYI, If you have to cancel your account, double triple check that it is done and you’re not getting charged.

The staff is so kind and helpful--our experience there is always so warm. The facility is clean and feels safe at this time, even though its often full of people! It feels alive and healthy. We love coming here with our son--playing with him at the pool or on the playground, or dropping him at Y-Play and getting a quick workout in. We are grateful for it all!

Visited this Y as an out-of-towner with a guest pass. The facility was beautiful, clean, and full of varying options to work out. It was a hot week and the outdoor pool was a life saver. Most importantly, every staff member I encountered was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. I wish they had this in my city.

Me and my family LOVE this YMCA. The outdoor pool has been a huge blessing, and my son is learning to swim with such confidence! The water is so clean and the surroundings are well kept and very nice. We are here every weekend!

We just recently joined the Y and went to the Margaret Maddox YMCA in East Nashville on a hot day to check out the outdoor pool. When we arrived, we were amazed at how beautiful it was - big, clean, plenty of lounge chairs, and nearby picnic and playground areas. We felt like we were on vacation at a resort, and we cant wait to go back there again!!

MMYMCA is a community center and a boon for mind, body and spirit. With a variety of cardio options, weight training, yoga classes, basketball courts and incredibly friendly staff, I am so proud to be a member. My membership there is an important part of my life, and community. Blessed to be a part of it.

Friendly staff who welcome you (often by name) are compassionate, engaging and professional. They are committed to Covid/safety standards. I love water aerobics! There is enormous camaraderie among the members and instructors. Water aerobics gave me my strength and fitness back. I am grateful for MM Y and its people💕

I just moved to Nashville and joined Margaret Maddox YMCA. Im loving it. Everybody there is so kind.

The staff are so friendly and do a fantastic job with sanitizing & enforcing covid safe practices. There are multiple little workout rooms, tons of classes, and a 4-lane pool (and large outdoor pool). Its a little hard to get scheduled for pool time, as you have to call the day before and hope its not full, but everything about the facility is lovely.

Great staff that always greets you with a smile. Very knowledgeable with the software systems when requesting information on my account.

Five stars when they install a steam room : )

Friendly staff but ever since the new year 2021 the gym has been extremely packed around 4-7pm. No parking. No equipment. I suggest spending money elsewhere.

Have been a member since 2016! Love the facilities- they are taking all necessary precautions during coronavirus. The pool is a nice bonus! Great weight and cardio section as well as classes.

The staff is always so kind and upbeat. And I especially appreciate the ways theyve taken COVID into consideration with the precautions theyve set. Well done!

The Margaret Maddox YMCA looks so good. I love the renovations and I love the diversity. It feels like family here. There are older people like myself trying to stay active and healthy and young families and babies. It is true community.

Love this Y! Great people - both members and staff. Good amount of equipment, great teachers and just a great environment overall.

Clean, welcoming, accommodating and fun! Lots of machine and room to make sure you get your full work out in without having someone breathe down your throat. Sauna has always worked unlike other establishments we have visited.

I love that the Margaret Maddox YMCA really is a community center! I appreciate the diversity of the instructors and members. I also love the classes! I regularly go to Circuit Blast, Iyengar yoga, and the Cycling classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and create a sense of community in class.

All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Gooch, Jenny, Pamela, Kelly, Kat, Annie, and the wonderful people at the door and even handling the finances. Youre all incredible and welcoming and encouraging and FUNNY! Its always the most amazingly positive atmosphere in there! Such a gift to this community. Also the Maddox Y get better - facility wise - all the time! ALl the upgrades are noticed and appreciated.

Great outdoor lap pool! The pool water doesnt have the usual strong smell of chlorine.. Warm and Informative front desk reception.

It is always so busy and they never seem to do anything about it. They still close at 9 while centers like Franklin & Maryland Farms stay open till 10 with much less foot traffic. Then they do things like have 4 bench presses and 2 squat racks. You can only bench on a bench rack but can squat, bench, deadlift, military press, barbell row, shrug and more on a rack. And they took their squat racks away from the mirrors so youre now unable to watch your form/posture while lifting. I feel like their weight room was created without the input of people who lift.

Very clean establishment with lots of options for everyone! The hours are shorter than I like, but the equipment, pool, and lockers are always tidy and welcoming. I am excited for the summer to use the outdoor pool and slides! There is a recreation area with a pool table and foosball too. Everyone has been very nice and I always feel welcome. Plenty of free parking too.

Keep your valuables safe because if you lose something at this YMCA you’re never getting it back! I have lost several things at this YMCA and when i come back the next day and ask the staff to find it or check lost and found they will lie and say they never saw it. This has happened several times and it is always this YMCA that my stuff was either stolen which i think is nonsense because the staff there are supposed to check for stuff left behind and put it in lost and found. I wish there was an option to not give them a star so take this 1 star as a no star at all

These Christians drained my bank account because of something written in fine print on the contract that I missed. They refused to offer any sort of a refund. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Planet fitness is right up the road and is much cheaper and not religiously affiliated. I strongly recommend people go there instead. My entire YMCA experience has been very upsetting.

Nice Y, but terrible hours. Same price as the Downtown Y. I dont have kids so I would like to see more funding allocated toward longer hours and less toward the family features. I dont expect 24 hours like Lifetime and many other facilities, but 5 PM on weekends and 9 PM weekdays is pathetic for $600 - $700 /yr. They also dont update holiday hours on Google which is frustrating. If I were in charge of this location, I would keep the weight and cardio area open later and close the rest (75% of the building) at the earlier times. I know this is a common complaint and it seems like they havent done anything to address it. Im guessing most members dont sign up at this location. Will most likely drop membership once I move. Also no steamroom.

This awesome place donated daily showers for Crisis Response International Responders during deploment to Nashville for recovery efforts after the recent tornados. Helping the respibders with rest and cleanliness after serving the community in disaster relief. Warm, friendly environment, clean, hot showers and a beautiful facility #rebellioustrail

The front desk staff is amazing and greets me personally. The facility is always clean. There is plenty of equipment for use even when its busy.

I love that its a place for everyone. It makes me feel more a part of the community. I dont have to wear fancy, expensive work out clothes to fit in. Everyone fits.

I love this Y! The Y Play gives me a chance to exercise and helps connect my son with community and physical activity, too. Can’t say enough good things about the Y!

Its clean, spacious and family friendly. I would like a larger weight area, but I fits all the needs of any physique trainer. It gets crowded but thats to be expected of any gym during peak hours.

Im pretty let down. I am a member of an MMA gym, but came for a one-day visit with my friend, and this lady with long gray hair and the faintest mustache was so rude to me I almost walked out. I made a comment about how I thought it was neat that they had an outdoor pool and she told me, Thats why we have tours, obviously. Do you want a membership or not? Its based off income so I know you can afford it. She seemed to talk down to me as if I didnt make much money, but I make around 70k a year. I was considering getting a membership there in addition to my gym since its closer, but now I definitely wont be doing that. Anytime Fitness for me. Theyre 24 hours, not riddled with screaming kids, and the staff is nicer. Its as if they get commission for their memberships, and if you show no interest in buying, they treat you like garbage, because as I was leaving, that same woman was worshiping the ground this new member, who was signing up, walked on. Maybe she didnt like my nose ring or my tattoos, or maybe I had a booger. She may have been having a bad day. Either way, she sucked.

I love my Maryland Farms Y! However, I was looking to take a CPR class and this location does many of those classes. I called in to sign up for a class and was told I had to drive the 15 miles to the location just to sign up. When the class day came I would have to drive back in for the class. This didnt seem reasonable to me?! I asked why I couldnt sign up by phone and he said, you just cant.

The staff is always courteous, I just wish that they would install a steam room and a whirlpool.

I absolutely love the cycling classes here, especially Elizabeth’s Thursday 5:30pm!

Pool is ALWAYS dirty and the gym closes too early on the weekends. Not enough hours considering people are paying as much or more than other gyms with better hours and a cleaner facility.

I love the East Nashville Y. The employees are always nice and cheerful. Theyve been very helpful to me with processing a refund for a swim class. The place looks great and has tons of machines and classes. Ive never had to wait for a machine. Many of the machines also have TVs and cords for your iphone, so Im able to watch Netflix while I run. All around a great facility!

The staff is very helpful and friendly. I joined primarily for the classes.The yoga classes--with the exception of the Sunday instructor who continually babbled about how great he was and how much better he was than all his instructors-- are quite wonderful.The ballet tone class is great..BUT --The zumba classes are horrible... they are not Zumba.. they dont keep moving and they are geared to pathetically out of shape people ..some of them contain virtually NO LATIN music. There are a couple of Dance it out classes that are good.. but if you are looking for real Zumba.. you will have to go somewhere else.

I like the YMCA, but have had multiple instances where they are very inflexible to their rules & it has caught me off guard. One example is that you must cancel your membership in person. We know why they do this and its disappointing given its Christian roots... creating an inconvenience for the sake of profit is poor taste.They are a monopoly for the most part - built as a non-profit, but run to be very profitable (whew, they are expensive!)
