Professor Bruce has been not only supportive of his students on the Mats. He takes pride in supporting them outside of the academy. I am a part of a charity organization who helps Veterans with P.T.S.D. and Bruce has gone above and beyond in helping me grow my organization. This Academy has top notch training and instills family value. If I could give ten stars I would!

I signed up with B1 in June and have loved every minute of it! Professor Bruce is very skilled and knowledgeable at what he does and it shows in all of his students. Everyone at the gym is very welcoming and friendly. My wife also signed up a couple months ago and she loves it! Once our son is of age we will also be putting him in B1s childrens class.

The hardest decision was to go inside for the first time, worried my 6 year old son wouldn’t like it or would be too shy. But, it’s the best decision I’ve made by yet so far. I was so impressed with all the instructors! They are amazingly great with all the kids. They give them the attention they need! It was a first great impression! I’m looking forward to going back and continue the practice my son needs!!

This school has a great atmosphere for kids and adults alike, I can personally attest to the positive learning environment that Professor Bruce has cultivated. The only downside to this gym is that I didnt start coming sooner. The instructor is attentive and knowledgable and the students welcome you as family. Its easy to remain disciplined in your training regiment when youre surrounded by motivated and humble people. With Professor Bruces instruction, even the most experienced fighters will sharpen their technique. Whether you are training for competition or self-defense, new to BJJ or a seasoned vet, this is the gym you should have joined last week.

B1 is a great place to train. The facilities are meticulously cleaned and there are several large restrooms. I have been training a little closer to home for the past 2 years, but I wanted my daughter to train in the gi and they have an excellent children’s program my instructors recommended. My daughter is five years old, and absolutely loves training here. She is constantly asking if she has training after school, even on off days. I cannot say enough about Bruce’s teaching method and patience. Having ten 3-6-year-old kids is not an easy task. He is patient and considerate to all while maintaining a well-organized and productive class. His coaches that help with class are also very good. Pricing is competitive. I would have no reservations about recommending this facility to anyone who wants to train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu of any age.

Welcoming and friendly environment. I came in for a trial class at the end of 2015/beginning of 2016 and I was hooked. Instructors are excellent and encouraging. The school is made up of people from all walks of life, and they make everyone feel welcome, whether you want to train to compete or just want a good workout.

This place is basically my second home. I joined B1 a couple years ago and I loved it. I came into jiu-jitsu having martial arts experience and I really wanted to work on my grappling and I knew I found the perfect place here. Professor Bruce is amazing at what he does and really cares about making sure you understand the techniques and is honestly just a really great person to be around. I joined back in May of 2016 and it’s been an amazing experience. I live about 45 minutes from B1 but the people and culture here is worth the drive. There’s a family feel to this place and you’re welcomed and treated as such since day 1! Professor Bruce (the black belt instructor) is an excellent teacher and you can really feel he puts everything into teaching us not only jiujitsu but life lessons through jiujitsu. I introduced my best friend and he joined and has been coming though since 2016 October!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of B1BJJ. It is second to none in how the staff and fellow members treat and respect one another. The instruction is phenomenal; it is extremely thorough and interactive. But, the atmosphere that the staff has inspired at B1BJJ is what makes it stand out. After one session, I could gauge how genuine and caring this environment is. I would recommend B1BJJ to anyone interested in martial arts, but also to anyone interested in being a part of a warm, welcoming and really enjoyable community.

This gym has the most attentive and detailed instructor in the area. Very good school that teaches real Brazialian Jiu jitsu. I joined in October of 2016 with a MMA back ground, now I have become a jiu jitsu fighter thanks to the coaching abilities of head coach Bruce. I started training at B1 Jiu Jitsu over a year ago and its been an amazing experience!! Originally, I was training for Spartan Races and wanted to supplement my training with jiu jitsu to strengthen my core. However, the jiu jitsu has really taken on a life of its own and now I feel that the Spartan training is a supplement to jiu jitsu!! I started training at the age of 40 and I have never looked back. My only regret is that I wish I started jiu jitsu earlier!! Professor Bruce is an amazing instructor and is very patient and observant with his students. Ive also met many amazing people at B1 and from the start they have all been very welcoming and supportive. I feel very lucky to be a part of a great team and even at my age, I am living proof that an old dog really can learn new tricks!!

Ive been training here since about Janurary 2015 (my new years resolution) and Im still here as of today (April 2015). What can I say? This place is awesome! To sum it up, the instructor here Bruce is a very technical and educated BJJ instructor. Not only does he teach, but he himself trains and competes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu here is great whether you just want to get into shape or be a weekend warrior in BJJ competition or take it to the higher levels. This place has it all. The guys and gals here have great positive attitudes no gym bullies here. If you work in a professional environment, you dont need to worry about being beat up or have injuries the next day after training. Its a very safe place. Id give this place 6 stars if I could. Also VERY beginner friendly place. They wont throw you to the wolves. If youve trained before, this place will definitely take you to the next level.

I have trained at many bjj and mma gyms but never stuck with any of them. That all changed once I signed up at B1. Professor Bruce give great instruction and is really good with kids. Everyone is friendly and I think that says a lot about a jiu jitsu academy. Come in and try a free class!
