I like the gym. Weight machines you have a large variety of machines you could work with you dont have to wait to use a weight machine plus they have plenty of free weights plenty of room to work out. And I read one of the postings in regards to the change room or bathrooms personally my opinion the last few times I was there they were either out of paper towels and another member I overheard mentioning to someone that they didnt have any toilet paper in the Stalls. They should pay a little bit more attention to that but other than that I mean I have no complaints about the gym its really good for me
Best gym In Morristown, hands down. Perfect location, free parking, large gym, never over crowded, lots of equipment, great classes, amazing trainers and friendly staff. Towels provided, steam room and pool always clean. Disregard previous negative reviews. New management ensures that equipment is always clean, functional and well maintained. Training package reduces monthly membership cost. Completely worth every dollar!! Tried many gyms in town (NBD, full time fitness, Retro) - none compare!
This Club at HQ exceeds my needs and expectations. I had worries due to negative reviews but none of those worried turned out valid. The place has significantly improved from what it was. The staff are great, much of the equipment is in perfect order and clean, the trainers on the floor are very professional and courteous, children in the childcare room are always engaged, my fellow gym members have never hogged an area or made me feel unwelcome. And I am very excited to try out the new aerial program with the bungees and trapeze!
I left this gym after a few months. The steam and sauna rooms are almost always broken, the machines are never clean, the staff is rude, and on top of the the management tries to rip its consumers off. I had cancelled my membership and they continued charging me, this also happened to my mother and a friend of mine who went here. For seventy dollars a month you expect better service. Do yourself a favor and join another gym nearby.
I have been a member here for abut 4 years now. Let me tell you, the ONLY reason I am still a member is because my work pays for my gym membership. This gym is DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY. There are always weights everywhere, towels thrown around and just garbage and junk lying around. And the bathrooms/locker rooms are disgustingly dirty. They just re-did the gym last year and it already looks well worn. The showers are horrible, too. One shower will have only cold water and then the next will only have scalding hot water.. no such thing as warm water here!Plus, their guest policy really makes it difficult to bring a guest. It seems like they make it hard so you wont bring a guest. They used to have guest passes and multiple times my guest has been denied. They said the guest passes werent valid (even though I got them from the gym) and my guest would have to pay $15 to use the gym. Now you have to sign up your guest 24 hours in advanced and guest can only go 3 times. Id rather just go to a different gym. Most others have unlimited guest privileges. Not here! Guest have to pay. Also, the pool is a miniature pool. Its about 1/2 the length of a normal pool. When I go swimming, I can push off from one end, take two strokes and Im at the wall. It is such a joke for anyone who is really looking to workout.
Ive been a member for 2 years and this facility has what you need if youre looking to exercise and either keep or get healthy and strong. I mostly use free weights and some cardio machines so I cant comment on classes that are offered. There have been some management changes that started over the summer of 2017 and there is more communication and engagement than before. Trainers are present and pleasant but not pressured. Co-members are friendly and front desk is congenial. It is not dirty as others have commented. On occasion, the sauna/steam room and some equipment is out of order but that is the nature of anything that is used frequently and the issues do get addressed and fixed. For those who live in and around Morristown, this is a very convenient and complete gym.
Great gym, great staff! Ive been working with the same trainer for two years now. He has opened my eyes to strength training and Ive gone from very little gym experience/interest to competing in powerlifting competitions. I love that working out has become an important part of my life.During the past two years, The Club has completed a number of renovations and continues to improve. Excellent cardio equipment, enhanced training facilities (functional area is perfect for trainer/client sessions), addition of a boxing room, and upgraded locker rooms. Would highly recommend
The reception staff behaved unprofessionally during our attempt to check in to use the pool as the Hyatts guests. We waited at the counter for a long time, then tried to draw some attention, and then the staff cursed at us with an F-word. We felt upset and left in distress, unable to use one of the important hotel amenities.
Ive been a member at this gym for about 2 years now and the positives far outweigh the negatives. If you live or work in town it is the most convenient option for a full service gym. They have parking (which is huge in Morristown), shower, steam and sauna, pool, classes, training and a full range of equipment. In response to some of the previous comments, they are under new management, have made improvements, and seem to be continuing to do so. I have always found members and staff friendly, and the facilities and locker rooms clean...in fact despite living in town I shower there about twice a week out of convenience. At the end of the day, you are doing yourself a disservice if you dont take the time to tour and do a week trial at any gym (they just about all offer it). Dont make a decision based on positive or negative reviews you read online. Give it a whirl and decide if its right for you.
The guys at the desk dont know how to do their jobs. I was told to wait for John the manager for an hour and was lied to on my face that he was on the phone. Later realized people walking in after me were going straight ahead to his desk. The manager wasnt even aware I was waiting to see him. They have the cheek to tell me I should have had an appointment when I was there a day earlier asking for information and was sent away because the manager was out. Why wouldnt they set up an appointment when I was in there! When asked for a tour the front desk goes ahead to point me in the direction of the two entrances. Nice tour kid. Thanks.Totally disappointing. Will take my business somewhere else.
Diamond Personal training. Excellent with kickboxing as well.
This review only pertains to the Swimming lessons offered at The Club as I had purchased a LivingSocial promotion. When they say Semi-Private lessons, there is no telling how many people will be at the pool. Only one lane is dedicated to kids swim lessons and there can be multiple swim lessons going on at the same time. To make matters worse, the pool is shared with others (Im not sure, but could be for Hyatt guests or Club members). My son had a lesson with 10 people sharing one lane (no kidding!) Brought this up to managment and the owner, nothing is done to correct the situation during or after the fact.Next experience, because of the bad experience from the prior week, they assumed that I had cancelled the class (which was not) and that was their excuse. No apologies given whatsoever. So, my son had a substitute swim instructor who is the swim lesson coordinator. She was serving multiple responsibilities during the 30 minute lesson by answering other peoples questions throughout.Last experience, due to traffic delays in which I had no control over, I alerted the swim instructor of the delay. She said No problem. Lesson was stopped in 15 minutes due to next scheduled class. Does this mean No problem?Bottom line: Stay away. Should you have a problem with anything, good luck getting any help. This is a small company and they certainly do not know anything about customer service nor public relations.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. As far as gyms go, stay away. It is not worth the money given the sad state of affairs. What is worse is that management and ownership could care less. They should be ashamed to put forth should a crappy experience for their members.
The gym is a little pricey. I pay $65 a month. But its a lot cheaper than the Crossfit gym I was at before. This place has all of the stuff I need for Crossfit and I can use it anytime I want. I used to have to wait for class times to work out at my former gym. I havent tried any of the classes so cant give an opinion on them. I do use the pool about once a week. It adds a little variety to my workouts. The Crossfit style training takes its toll on the body, so the pool helps to change it up a bit. Overall very good for what I need in a gym.
I have been a member of this club for over 10 years, but I am extremely dissatisfied with it. The only reason I have stayed so long is because of the pool and the fact that I can walk or ride my bike there. They persist in using cleaning chemicals throughout the gym that give off highly toxic vapors. I have spoken with management several times about this, but today I had to leave the yoga class because the fumes were overwhelming. I have been in a pilates class where several of the participants became dizzy and felt nauseous after inhaling fumes that were a residual effect of the cleaners mopping the room immediately prior to the class. I have suggested to management that they explore options for using more environmentally friendly cleaning products, or at the very least, schedule cleaning of the exercise room so that it has time to air out before the class. The owners of this club, once they finally finished the renovations which took over two years, still do not live up to the philosophy, expounded on their website: We combine exercise, nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices so you can improve all aspects of your physical and mental well-being..There is also a high emphasis at this club on personal training and weightlifting. The yoga, and pilates classes are given short shrift. If youre looking for a gym I would recommend exploring other options before joining this one.
Is very good
