I have been living here for about 18 months. I never been late with my rent and my kids and I mind our own business and dont cause trouble. My problem is that my kids and I had been gone most of the day on 07/14/20 and when we came home we notice that the glass door was shattered so I went straight to the office and reported it. The ladies in the office said it was probably the lawn guys who shattered the glass door cause they have shattered other doors and they also stated they would send maintenance over to fix the door. It was getting closer to the time for them to close so I follow up with them with a call about the door and the lady that answered the phone got smart stating what you want me to do about it and my respond was. That is putting my kids and I in danger so the maintenance came put the wood up only cause I suggested it and he only put two screws in it and the wood was not properly installed so all the air is going outside which will cause a high light bill due to the AC constantly running I put up a. Blanket to help keep the.air in I now have to sleep on The sofa downstairs to ensure my kids safety and I am currently looking for some where to move cause it is obvious that Avalon Plaza does not care nor value the safety of their tenants. On 07/15/20 my son call me at work and stated he was coming downstairs and the maintenance man was inside the apartment and the maintenance man ask him didnt he hear him knock my son stated he said no and the maintenance man went out the door. I found that strange considering they didnt fix the sliding glass door. I notice. When I came home that night the maintenance man had left apartment 124 house key on the table. Like I said they dont care nothing about their tenants safety. I wish I can post pictures that I took of how they installed the wood over the shattered glass door and the picture of of apartment 124 key I took laying on my table.
(7/2/2020) Avalon Plaza Apartments has treated my mother-in-law very well. I left a positive review with the previous owners. However, it seems that both Tammy and Ms. Carrol, the new management/owners, are really turning the place around. We’ve been very impressed with their professionalism and positive Spirit. We thank them very much for making us feel at home.
I give Avalon a 1 star because they have very bad front office workers. They have bad attitudes and NEVER fix anything. My tub paint is pilling ! BOTH sinks are leaking a/c thermostat is broken and my dishwasher or garbage disposal do not work. They never fix anything so unprofessional but want rent money every month !
While looking for an apartment for my new fiancee & myself, I happened upon Family Place Apartments, & immediately fell in love with the great & convenient location, the obvious quality of the renovations & the overall ambiance. Its not too far from the local supermarkets & right along the main road which has all the activities and restaurants youll ever need! The highlight of my experience without a doubt was Ms. Galayshia, she was kind, patient, knowledgeable, & showed me the most gorgeous model apartment Ive ever seen!! She exhibited such a passionate attention to every little detail, & Ive gotta say, it was an honor, pleasure, & privilege to be shown such an awesome place, by such a consummate professional!! I hope to move in VERY soon, & have recommended Family Place to several friends who are looking for a place to call home, I hope we ALL get in!
DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS! They will give you so many different move in dates it is ridiculous!! Our stove and refrigerator is so raggedy! We even have an hole in our living room ceiling. THE PHOTOS ON THERE WEBSITE IS NOT HOW THESE APARTMENTS LOOK! They false advertising! Don’t even waste your money trying to live in these apartments!
Please dont rent an apartment from these people! My upstairs toilet has been backed up and not useable for months my garbage disposal stopped working my sink wont drain my kitchen is now flooding from the dishwasher we cant wash dishes they are trying to make my pay to have my door fixed that one of their tenants broke even though i have a police report about the situation they said in the lease that they exterminate Ive only seen the exterminator once 5 months ago and he didnt even go upstairs I could go on and on but they are scum lords beware!
When I was looking for my first apartment family place was always the first option. They offer affordable living, trustworthy staff and are in a great neighborhood.
Haven’t moved in yet but so far I like the pace already the staff is really nice and it seems like a quite environment for me and my son....
I give this place a 5 star because on sun the staff was very patient and willing to move the process as quick as she could it was a very pleasant atmosphere she was very nice we need more people like this

I want to warn any families so they dont lose money like I have with false hopes and false promises by the complex above.My family and I were given TWO move in dates with TWO welcome letters, I made sure all utilities I needed were ready and turned on. I paid over 600 in deposites and connection fees before even paying family place a dime. To show up to get my keys to be told they had no available/ready units. The first time I took it with a smile and just continued on my way, with my SECOND welcome letter with a later date (also paying 600 in hotel rooms during this time just waiting on the second move in date we were given.) I had all utilities turned off and switched to the second assigned unit we were given. (Another connection fee applying) showing up the day before move in date to pay for apartment and grab keys to be told the same thing. Ive now at this point lost 80 dollars in connection fees for electrics. 150 for gas deposit that still has yet to be refunded. And 10 for the application fee from the apartment place theirselfs that was promised back to me over a month ago.Mind you during this time Im worried about where me (7months pregnant at the time) and my three years old would lay our heads. While the office of family place gave me MULTIPLE promises of call backs to insure we had a place to go and they NEVER called back, not once out of the 5 times I called them in the week span.Please dont waste your money, or your time. Miss Taylor and her side kick in the office have absolutely ZERO concern for anyone but themselves and their paychecks they obviously dont deserve as they have NO CLUE on what they are doing.Please once again dont put your trust in these people. Its not worth the stress. What so ever!!! Id have given them a 0 star rating if it were possible.
If I can give a half of a star I will. My down stairs restroom was out for like a whole month I had to fix it on my own.
First off the internet photos are false advertising for someone that really doesn’t have time to look inside of every apartment applied for. If there was an option for 0 stars I would select. The office staff are not on the same page at all. No one returns voicemails. I was promised a move in date and the day of it change and the apartment wasn’t ready. I accepted to move in because my family and I had no where else to go at the time. They let me move into this apartment with no air, refrigerator, or stove and paint patches in the wall, wall outlet covers missing and some hanging, no blinds you name it. I was promised to have a different apartment in a week in a half it’s been 3 weeks and I’m still in a unfinished ant infested apartment. If I could get my deposit back today I would live in a hotel then here. If someone read this review please reply with corporate phone number.
It’s okay just the stadium noise at night makes it hard to put my child to sleep and besides neighbors making a bunch a noise to like the walls are extremely thin I’m pretty sure they can hear everything going on in my apartment vice versa

The manager, Galayshia, has really shown alot of leadership to help turn this place around to make it comfortable, safe and secure not only for us elderly, but for the hard working families here who want a place that they can be proud of to call home.Even when I was down on account of my surgery, Galayshia was very caring and patient with my family while I was recovering and getting back on track.Darrell, the maintenance man/ groundskeeper, works really hard to keep Family Place up to par. He and Galayshias office assistant, Mrs. Shan, have each made it a point to help make our stay here very nice and welcomed, just like family.With our continued support, we look forward to continuing to reap the benefits of Mrs. Galayshias successful leadership.Thank you, keep up the good work
I wish I could give them less than one star. Please dont come here. These people do not care about their tenants. The grounds are disgusting on the weekends. They dont enforce parking restrictions. The apartments arent well maintained and when you tell them about your maintenance issues nothing is done. Theres mold here. The apartments are outdated. Then if you try to pay online thats another disaster because because theres a freaking $30 charge. Who does that?! Lets not get started on the shootings and stabbings. So please pay the extra and move somewhere else. Dont come here please!
Regardless of how many bad reviews there were I still gave this apartment complex a chance. I went in for a tour on the 2nd of August and liked what I saw, I was told (by Taylor/Female) that all the apartments had been cleaned and they all have a fresh coat of paint and the carpets were newly put in. So I went forward with the application process. I was approved on the 8th and payed the 300 dollar deposit later that day and was told my move in day would be on the 25th. Also I was told that the upcoming Friday (the 11th) I could come and sign the lease. I called that Friday and was told to come in on Monday the 14th to sign the lease, so when I arrived I was told that it was not ready and that my unit would be unit 28. Fast forwarding to the 21st, I called to ask about the lease again just to be told that it was still not ready and that my move in date would be at a later time because they were not ready. To my knowledge the apartments were already to be moved in like Taylor had stated. On the 25th I was completely fed up, I called and a man picked up and said no one was there and that they would be back on Monday. I called again to see if I could reach anyone in management to inquire about my move in date. I called multiple times and have left multiple messages and have even called the corporate office number and talked with Cindy M. who forwarded me to another line just for someone to hang up. When I called back there was no answer. OH..... What a joyful experience I have had dealing with these lovely lying con-artists!!!!! I Just loved waiting three weeks for an apartment that was ready BUT, some how it mysteriously wasnt ready after paying the 300 dollar deposit. Oh how I love asking when will it be ready and I couldnt get a date because they are under new management. OH... how I loved spending most of my waking hours trying to reach someone on the phone for four days! BUT, NOTHING..... I mean NOTHING, made this experience more delightful and just bringing joy and happiness to my heart then hearing that I would be refunded my 300 DOLLAR DEPOSIT IN 2-4 WEEKS WHEN IT TOOK THEM .000000000001 SECONDS TO TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF MY HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And how delightful of a wait it had been because after two weeks of waiting for my deposit, I called to make sure they actually sent it out just to hear they had it there the whole time! Oh please come on down to have your money secured for 2-4 weeks with family place apartments, where the waiting gets rough, but the wait wont kill ya!
It’s over all a good place but service is not so well we got broken into and they have yet to replace the sliding glass door and it got broken into and damaged once more as of a week ago it has been over 2 weeks since it was broken into and no repairs have been done.
