Our car blew an axle seal while on a roadtrip, While we thought we’d be dead in the water, these guys squeezed us in on a extremely busy Monday without an appointment and got our car done. Additionally, our hub had to be replaced because our bolts had seized and they didn’t charge us labor on the fix. We can’t thank these guys enough for their help & would highly recommend them. They charge very reasonably and it’s a shop you can trust.

Fast Willy will fast talk you and act like he cares. All he cares about is himself and his money. His shop use to be one of the best around but it has taken a huge fall over the last year or two. Save yourself the nightmare and take your car to another place. There are so many better and cleaner shops around Missoula.

I know they are honest because I asked them to do a certain job and upon inspection they told me it didnt need to be done and didnt charge me. Unfortunately Willys has really gone downhill. I used to bring my 99 land cruiser often however after our last visit, we will never return. We brought our car in for a small rattle and for a general inspection before a road trip. We were told it needed a new muffler, time belt, filters, a few other various repairs totaling $2000. We decided to go ahead with all the repairs. When we picked it up, my fiancé noticed the rattle was still there, the owner had a mechanic check on the muffler. He stated that everything looked good, it was just a bit loose and would fix itself. After driving 8+ Hours to Seattle, the noise got way worse. We pulled over and my fiancé looked under the car to see the entire, rusted muffler dragging. He ripped the piece out of the car. When we called Willys the following day, they said they had planned to call us and tell us they completely forgot to replace the muffler, despite double checking and charging us $200. They told us to just drive it like normal and bring it back in once we were home. We called another place for a second opinion, they told us extensive driving could total our vehicles engine, so we had it replaced. Willys partially refunded us for the work they didn’t do and did not apologize. We understand mistakes happen, but this is not the way to address them. Now we have been noticing abnormal issues with the vehicle. We’re very concerned that the other $1800 of work was done incorrectly or not done at all. This place used to be great, now it’s a scam. Avoid at all costs.

My Pathfinder pretty much stopped running on my way home from UM. I was able to limp it over to Willys. It was a Sunday so I just parked my car in their lot and sent them a message over facebook. They responded to quickly and told me to come in Monday morning. I came in and they said they would take a look at things as soon as they were able. Given that the holidays were quickly approaching I figured it would take some time for them to take care of it. A week later, after me just parking the car with them, having no appointment, and up against the holidays they had everything fixed up. Price was completely fair and even got to talk some baseball with they guy at the desk. More than happy with the whole service.

These guys have been great and trustworthy. I really appreciate that I don’t feel like they’re going to scam me. As a solo female it’s always a concern that you’re going to get ripped off at the mechanics, but I do t have that concern anymore with the guys at Willy’s. The two stars is a fair review given the patience i have extended. Yes the head gasket issue is resolved however it could have been such a better experience than what it was. While my experience at your shop may not be the norm my review below is accurate. Allow me to detail my position and experience further.PRIOR TO BRINGING YOU MY VEHICLE THE LOCKS WORKED PERFECT. THE REASON YOU WORKED ON IT THREE TIMES AT NO CHARGE IS BECAUSE YOU CREATED THE ISSUE.1. I was quoted 2300 at the high end to replace the head gaskets. I still have the voicemail on my phone from Gary on 08/07/20. However when i went to pick up the vehicle i was told it was 2700.00. While Gary apologized i still payed 150.00 over the quoted price. Was never informed prior to picking up vehicle the cost had increased. Very cool.......2. The quoted time of two weeks ended up being over 30 days.....3. You yourself stated that the reason my door locks were not functioning is due to the battery being disconnected for a long duration while replacing the head gaskets .....4. THE LAST TIME I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE YOU ASSURED ME THAT DISABLING THE MODULE AND KEY FOB HAD RESOLVED THE ISSUE AS YOU PERSONALLY WORKED ON IT. I left you two voicemails the weekend of 10/16 advising that issue remained yet never heard back from you. Lets not pretend that we both acknowledged that disabling the FOB and module was not the correct resolution- YOU STATED IT WAS FIXED. IT IS NOT.5. When i picked up the vehicle i had to take it to carwash as was covered in dirt and needed the fluids topped off. Gary apologized for the car being returned in a dirty state and acknowledged that they have been busy and normally would have washed the car. Not a huge deal but for the amount of money i spent.....My original review contained no details so your assumptions and mischaracterization are not appreciated or accurate. Your response however did motivate me to detail my experience. Cheers!TLDR:- Missed deadline- Unresolved issues- Over budget- Lack of accountability

Willys was awesome brought in a 2005 ford to get it checked out before I bought it. They were able to pinpoint what it needed and were super honest about the truck without being biased about it. Not sure if Im getting the truck but Im sure I found where Ill be going next time I need something done!

Took a truck that I was looking at buying down to Willy before buying it. They were fast and thorough and extremely friendly. They helped me make the right decision and I bought the vehicle. I’ll be back for any future fixes without a doubt.

I rarely go to mechanics. I fix all my own vehicles. My wife and I were on vacation recently and started having trouble with our vans column shifter. I called around and Willy told us to come by and he would at least take a look at it that day. Within 45 minutes of being at the shop the problem was fixed and we were back on the road... free of charge. Pretty much instant diagnosis, knew exactly which tool was needed, extremely friendly. Actual time spent looking at and fixing the problem was less than 5 minutes. I spent more time taking unnecessary things apart erroneously while waiting for Willys mechanic to take a look at it. Extremely positive experience & back on the road fast. Do not hesitate to have them work on your vehicles. They know what they are doing.

Willie and his crew is THE best in town! His rates are reasonable and they are extremely quick. I have recommended him to my friends because he is cheap, quick, the service gets done correctly, and best of all he wont screw you over and tell you that you need to change things that doesnt need to be changed. Loved them. Went in for a new transmission or something like that and I got a quote and made an appointment before hand and they had it done within the day. Quoted me waaayyy under than the actual price but stood by their original quote so basically did free labor. 100% recommend.

Update: It took no time for the mechanic to find the issue on Monday, he was extremely timely with the repairs and even showed us the exact issue. We had our car back before noon and paid the exact amount we were quoted!We dropped my boyfriends car off with no appointment, on a Friday, and they took it on anyway, assuring us they wouldn’t charge us anything/start the work until discussing it with us first. They never got a chance to look at it, no surprise since we had no appointment, but when I arrived after hours just to see if they were there I of course found them there working hard. I talked to them about his car, and they even gave it a quick once over for me. They gave me the key and set us up with an appointment first thing on Monday! It was extremely kind of them to still help me even after they had technically closed. I feel like we have found our new mechanic here in Missoula!

The guys at Willys auto are great. I went to them to get my jeep lifted and they spotted another big problem with my axle. So before going a head and just doing the lift they called me and had me come in to actually see the hidden problems and gave me some options that were a bit more cost friendly. They are good guys and good mechanics. If you need help with getting a lift installed and more give Willy a call.

My ignition control module went bad and the warranty on it was up several months ago. Willys mechanic put in the effort to pull some strings and get the warrenty to cover it anyhow, they also only charged me for half the labor it took to put the new one in. Theyre friendly and skilled and have my loyalty. Thanks Willys Auto!

Thanks to Willy and his crew for always taking great care of us. My alternator went out on my work truck and he was able to swap it out and get me back on the road the same day. I came into Willys a couple years ago to fix a problem with my car overheating. They did a great job and I havent had a problem since. Recently, Ive had a problem with my wipers. Willys being the only place Ive gone to for car issues was my first choice and I was not disappointed. Turns out it was a quick fix and they got it in and out right away. Willys Auto put a new transmission in my sons 06 Chevy truck. By far the best price and customer service. Willy took the time to explain to me the work required and gave me a quote. He was very honest and I didnt feel he tried to take advantage of my being female with very little mechanical knowledge. I double checked everything with my older son and he said to go with this shop for the repairs; My older son could have done the work but he was too far away. When we picked up the truck Willy even knocked the price down a little, which was a surprise! The work was done on time and we have absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended. I had an issue with a fluctuating heat gauge. They were very straightforward with me. I was concerned that it could be a leaky head gasket; they determined it was a loose wire. They even knocked off some of the labor price for the portion where they just had the car running under pressure. They informed me about any potential problems going forward and said that if any of them occurred they would apply some of what I had paid them to future work. My repair was also completed very promptly. Happy to recommend them, support a local garage and get great service.

Front brakes were squeaking, but the squeakers had fallen off, so I was down to metal on metal. After calling the day before, they got me in first thing the next morning. Finished the job right with pads plus new rotors. I appreciated the mechanic showing me the fully worn pads too; its great to learn what was happening. Thanks for the quick work!

I called out of the blue and asked if they could look at my car today. The lady on the phone said sure bring your car in. Boom! An hour after arriving, I am out the door. My belt was replaced and the cost was very agreeable. Great place!

Willy is an awesome, honest guy. Had them replace two drive shaft u joins, rear brake pads and rotors. The work they did looks great and it only cost me $300. This is the only place Ill be taking my family vehicles from now on.

What took a Ford dealership two days to do and never fix, it took Willys Auto 3 hours to do and fixed the misfire in my cylinder. Never been to Willys before but theyve gained a customer for life! Its been a month since I was there and happy to say they did the job right! Never going to take my business to big dealerships again. I decided to take my truck to Willys based upon the reviews I found online as they seemed to be mostly positive and the ones that are negative, Willy responded to and explained why they were upset, and most of the time the customers were at fault. I was not totally sure what was wrong with my truck and the mechanics at Willys seemed to struggle a little bit at first as well. I have an Owl Dashboard Camera in my truck so I get a notification every time my truck is bumped, opened, and even when someone so much as walks in front of it. Along with this I can view a live stream of the camera from my phone, so I knew every time they were actually working on my truck. Willy stayed late while sick to try and figure out what was wrong with my truck. Eventually it was a simple fix and despite my truck being there for 7 days and a couple hours of work being done on it, he only charged me for half an hour of labor. These are stand up people at this shop who do stand up and honest work, I will defintely be back.

Willys Auto did work to my truck about a month ago; they rebuilt the top end of the motor. They were fair priced and punctual and with 220,000 miles on the odometer it runs better than it ever has since I bought it. I would recommend them to anyone.

I took my jeep into Willys and had some work done on it. Over the course of approximately three months they worked on the starter, transmission, and replaced the wheel bearings . Overall I was not satisfied, but Willy gave me a call and offered to make things right and remedy any issues I had. The staff was very pleasant to work with and they do stand behind their work.

Went in to get the door on my truck fixed. They did an awesome job and the cost was way under what others quoted me. The customer service was great.

Just got my sons truck back from Willys. What was said to be a two day job turned into eight. I was told numerous excuses as to why the repair was taking so long. Once we got the truck back we found a cut up carpet and trim pieces laying on the passenger seat. For a repair that was almost $1,000 I would have expected much better service. I now have to take the truck in to repair the carpet and install the trim pieces. I would not recommend Willys auto shop, in fact I will go out of my way to tell everyone about the experience that we had.

We were travelling from Canada when we had car trouble and after calling Willys we thought they could help. We left the car there (and told them the most likely problem was the clutch) and we had to wait for a week. When we got the car back all they had done was bleed the line. After leaving Missoula we got as far as Polson before we had the same problems. We phoned our mechanic in Calgary and he did not understand why they only bled the line and did not fix it. We got the car back to Canada but now both the clutch and transmission are gone because of driving it back.Why did they not fix our car when they said they would (and they had over a week to do it). Willys caused us stress, time wasted and now we had to replace the transmission as well as the clutch. Had they have done what they said they were going to do (replace clutch) I would not have had to go through this. If they did not want to do the work just tell me that.Thanks for wasted holiday, stress and cost of new transmission.

Honest and do good work for great prices. Brought our car here for the first time during the summer to have our water pump replaced, and havent had any problems with it since. Cost $300 less tham what we were quoted elsewhere. We chose Willy due to the great Google reviews and they have lived up to their reputation. Recently had a tune-up and struts replaced in addition to front and rear sway bars. Willy quoted me a price over the phone before they did the work, and when I went in to pay although the price was higher on bill I was given, he came and adjusted everything back to what he quoted me over the phone. Would reccomend them to anyone. Due to being a great shop theyre often busy, so if you know you need work done schedule an appointment in advance.

I have had nothing but a good experience time after time, since I have been taking my vehicles to Willys Auto, since 2009!I am treated like family and would recommend his services.Now going into 2016 my 4Runner is at 260,000 miles and I keep getting oil changes from Willy, along with any other small issues I might have. Horrible experience. I will try to be kind as I know that life can be a struggle and I dont expect anyone to be perfect, what I do expect is honesty and I did not get that at Willys. It is now 12 days later and I recieved conflicting reasons why my jeep hadnt even been looked at. It cost another $75 to have it towed to another shop, which I can hardly afford on top of paying for the work that needs to be done. I am on disability and this is my only means of transportation, I work partially and am dependent on being able to get to the jobs i am hired to do.I would have appreciated being told they were too busy to get to it, I could have taken it elsewhere. I was looking forward to their work, Id heard good things about this shop, but after this experience I cannot recommend this place of business to anyone. I hope they get through whatever has halted them from a good reputation in Missoula.
