Rented from them at two properties over 2+ years. Very easy and reasonable. Maintenance requests (I didnt make many) were promptly addressed, and everything always went as discussed. No surprises, no fee-slapping. Neona in the office was super helpful and always willing to work with me.
Outside of a friend we rented from, this is the best renter weve ever had. Nice people, they work with you to get things done, and the whole operation is just chill, we like it.
Awesome rental company. We were so happy the last time we rented through them. We had a wonderful experience. Thanks so much!
The Dwelling Place has been nothing but flexible and helpful to me. I had some issues with the heat at my property, and they acted quickly and got me a space heater the same day. They then had the heat fixed within a few days. They also have been flexible with a few times that my payment has been delayed. I appreciate their communication and willingness to work with their tenants. So far so good!
Its hard to decide where to begin as the Dwelling Place has just recently become a part of my life again. I lived in one of their properties for 6 months five years ago and this past July they sent my parents to collections over a $200 bill that I was never aware of. My parents called to dispute this and were more or less given a tough luck. So I go to check my credit report and theyve turned me over as well. Once I call to complain they then all of a sudden realize that my parents were never actually co-signers (as my mother had said) and have dropped that report. Mine still stands and Ill be paying it to finally be done with them once and for all. Just wish even one tiny effort had been made to reach me instead of reporting me to collections almost five years after the fact. My address on file has remained the same and I have never changed my phone number. But Im sure its valid that they just couldnt possibly find any way to reach me personally. Dont rent from these guys unless youre okay with very loose agreements, lack of attention to maintenance and generally unprofessional conduct. Oh yeah, theres also the maintenance man who habitually used to enter our home unannounced and without permission, let alone even knocking.
I am currently renting a property from these guys and let me tell you THEY ARE HORRIBLE when it comes to the upkeep and requests made by me. I cant tell you how many different occasions Ive asked BOTH of the workers multiple times to fix something that is literally vital to my wallet and well being (in all rational) and only a small minority of those times have they actually come through. And believe me, the time it took for them to actually address the problem took weeks. In all of my years I have never rented from such an unprofessional management company. The women that work there are friendly, but their lack of concern for the LEGITIMATE problems that need to be taken care of is absurd. Their prices on the properties (at least on mine) are outrageous as well. If I had to rate my satisfaction with the dwelling place on a rational level, I honestly would give it an 8 out of 100. Will never rent from this company ever again. Im surprised they get any business at all. Beware.
They were very quick to respond to any of our valid maintenance needs, without hesitation over cost or liability. Very communicative over the status of the house, and influenced the owner to perform major updates. The statement of intention to rent form (given prior to lease) was offputting, as it appeared to be an agreement to sign the lease before having seen the lease. Other than the upfront paperwork, the Dwelling Place did a wonderful job. Thank you Neona and Goldie!
Im not the type to write reviews, negative or positive, but my experience with this company has compelled me to write one now. I had inquired about a property and was told that it was available, so I came in to the office and dropped off an application and application fee. I was told I would be contacted the next day about a time to view the property. No one ever called so I called them, and then again, and again, and again. FINALLY, I get through to someone and they casually tell me Oh, yeah. We had already approved an application on that property when you had dropped off your application. But it fell through, so if you still want to see it you can. I should have just walked away at that point, but with the competitive housing market in Missoula I decided to schedule a viewing. I set up an appointment with Niona for 11am the following day. My boyfriend and I showed up a few minutes early. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. I called the office three times before resorting to calling the emergency numbers that are listed on the answering machine. The first number was Nionas. She did not answer any of our phone calls. I then called the next number on the list where I was actually able to get through to someone. This person then called Niona and surprise! She answered for her co-worker on the first call. I then receive a call from Niona who casually says Sorry im running late, I got caught up on the phone at the office. REALLY?!?!?! Lets be honest Niona, you either forgot or slept in. Then, the icing on the cake is when she finally does show up, she tells me the monthly rent on the property is actually $1400, and not the $1150 it was listed for because Oops, I need to update that. Long story long, these people are incredibly unprofessional con artists. Dont waste your time.
I requested that The Dwelling Place send me in writing simply what are the Dwelling Places responsibilities regarding property management. I have never received ithe requested info and stopped paying HOA dues as a result of not receiving the requested information. Especially since so called property management duties were not being taken care of at Clark Fork Commons where at one point the weeds had grown up to my shoulders and I am 58. I have decided to resume paying HOA dues in spite of the fact that the only responsibility that The Dwelling Place is owning has to do with handling money. I give up....I will just assume the HOA dues are an expense that should have been figured into the mortgage....not that a HOA dues actually cover a property owners interest.I have decided to pick a chose my battles....and this is NOT worth the effort. I would suggest that anyone looking for a property mgmt company read the other reviews before signing anything with The Dwelling Place because they pick and choose what they decide to honor in writing...Disappointed but not surprised.
The ownership at The Dwelling Place is great to work with, Id definitely recommend giving them a call!
